Background

Once an aspiring neuroscience graduate interning under the Zephyr biomedical division, P-day struck before his hopes of exploring psychiatric uses for nanotechnology were fully realized. Following a lab-breach and subsequent forceful transformation, he disappeared from the world at large, becoming one of Fairhaven's innumerable Lost Ones for the next two decades.

Feral in every traditional sense of the word, he was captured by the Prometheans during a routine scouting sweep of the forests along the Northern edge of Fairhaven. Far too gone for the post-modern methods of the Prometheans to aid, Greyson underwent the process of inoculation against the infection as a last-ditch effort to spare what little remained of his lucid mind. The treatment, while effective, was vastly overzealous, bolstering Greyson's mind and shattering whatever protective mechanism shuttered the memories of life both before inoculation and P-day itself, though at the expense of his ability to utilize his form. Now, locked within his mutated frame, he seeks treatment for his condition and a chance at reclaiming his vaunted humanity, still shackled to the whims and instincts of a body not entirely his own.

Together with the aid of the Merc N' Tails company and a number of allies, he's found some degree of comfort as a Craftsman and Logistics Agent, guiding others to clothing he can only rarely possess, in addition to a healthy helping of armor and weaponry for any and all with the right amount of freecredits to spend.

Stereotypes

Zephyr: People I used to be familiar with, friends and found family, faces I probably won't see again, at least not in the same shape. Times've changed, and while I'd say they have, I'm not so sure. Seems to me like everyone knows something more about them than I do, and none of it's good. For better or worse they've been partly to blame for this whole thing starting in the first place. Trust them with a pair of oven mitts and a ten foot pole, just to be safe.
RSX: The military contractors, so far as I care they're about the same as Zephyr, just without lying about their intentions. While I can respect the idea of looking for a cure, I've come to realize that might not be in everyone's best interests, especially plenty of people I consider awfully close. Working with them and keeping an eye on them goes hand in hand, even if they can be a bit more chummy.
Prometheans: I owe them, big time. These people reached out to something barely even on the brink of sanity and managed to pull me from the pieces. God knows how they did it or if they'll be able to do it again, but I have to repay them something for having my life back. While I don't plan on being under them forever, I've got a lot of respect for their mission, even if their methods can... mess with my sensibilities.
Ferals: For the most part? A hulking mass of breeding, screaming, animalistic machines, people so lost in their own instincts they might as well have died. ...And I was one of them, for an awfully, awfully long time. I can't help but sympathize, being battery-farmed for resources and forced to create an ecosystem for a bunch of nigh-infinitely regenerative machines is a miserable experience, every wish or want you've ever had, even sleeping and drinking replaced with a need to make more and more fuel for the fire. They all deserve better, even if it's just a sliver of a chance.
Fairhaven: What I used to call home, and now I can't even recognize it anymore. Sure, things are getting better, but given the state of the world this day and age, it's hard to get past how much damage these new instincts have caused. While many have adapted to the oversexualized nature of things, for my own sanity and health, I've had to step away from it all... which makes it a shame that so much work stems from the place.
Woodfield: A violent and untamed place, no longer safe enough for even RSX to headquarter there, from what I've heard. The majority of stories I hear from infection strains out that way make me feel almost lucky I was infected in Fairhaven. For as uncomfortable as it is, it's at least got a lower mortality rate down South.
Eureka: Don't know much about the place, but an old friend's convinced me to give this place a try. Weird lights on the island, hostile fungal infections, and lingering vestiges of old-world pre-P-day military personnel give me the creeps, but hey, it's out of sight from the Big Three, and there's plenty to prefer about a more independent lifestyle.
Mall Rats (Crafting Alliance): Good people, and damn good salvagers as well. Pick up rare scrap, old-world food, movies I've not seen since before P-day, you name it. Honestly I'dve fallen in with them if they weren't so content to leave things as they are outside. As somebody who needs to keep his hands busy, I'll hang around with them any day of the week, but sometimes business has to get taken care of, and practice makes perfect when the worst comes swinging around.
Skunks (Crafting Alliance): Not exactly the most inclusive bunch, but they're good people if you can get past the prickly exterior. Won't say I'm too fond of the way they end up researching the infection, nor the fact half of them seem to be interested in sating their instincts so freely, but their work on helping people control their infection and the fact they provide an alternative to Z's surgical meddling is something I could never see as anything other than good for this world.
Survivalists (Crafting Alliance): People who seem to see all this like I saw it once. Terrified of the outside world and what the infection means for society, even after all these years. They deserve better than to be sequestered in Chandler for so long, but there's no end in sight for the infection as it is, and I doubt they'd feel safe on the streets as they are right now.

Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad thing to have a constant source of fuel around, even if it- does mean she's usually touching herself to get at it, but she's also been decent for conversation whenever she gets the chance to clear her head. Now if I could just get her to stop trying to eat my salvage..."
Conrad Friend "Somebody who's been looking out for me for a while, though with a bit of a mean-streak given how much they teased at me while I was still fresh off the inoculation. Not too fond of how much of their feral side they let in, but they've been good to me regardless, and they deserve to find some peace of their own one of these days."
Syntax Friend "An old-timer from way back when, somebody I can trust with everything I used to be, and who's definitely fond of exactly the same kinds of things I am. Bit odd to see him as a woman these days, but it- wouldn't be the first time I've met somebody who's changed things around since the infection. The fact they /also/ happen to be one of the leaders of this new Enigma project that's actually afforded me some measure of independence is a gift I never would've expected, but I'm chalking that up to luck and a healthy dose of well-deserved confidence on her part."
