The truck stops in the middle of a small village, somewhere in the town hall is a small server running to make a bubble for it you are told. It looks like any other village on the US west coast could have looked before p-day, even with a small diner and grocery store, both open for business. The only real difference is the people in the streets, as there are hardly any humans, but mostly anthropomorphic forms of animals like dogs, horses, cats, etc. Though there is quite some life going on in the streets, however most faces seem to be frightened of something ...
A tall golden scaled dragon clad in heavy combat armor departs the transport, at hir side is a old and battered laser rifle well maintained but showing its age. Upon the dragon back numerous medical packs for maintaining the health and wellbeing of fellow Zephyr agents. Seguro's long powerful tail sways slowly behind hir as shi awaits for the rest of the agents to depart.
A scruffy-looking human hops out the back of the truck, donned in an old army jumpsuit and plate carriers, a fairly nice M4 pattern rifle slung to his back, even past the gear looking more like a hapless greasemonkey tourist than a serious threat. His duct-tape constructed backpack jingles metallically as he looks around for any sign of why they might be there. "This better not be some Twilight Zone/Lottery bull." He actually did a quick gesture for the slash.
Fenris hops cheerfully from the back of the transport truck and straightens the long coat he wears so that it hangs comfortably across his shoulders. The big tanuki smiles around at the busy street. "Wow! Old town USA!" he says, "I like this place!" He tugs the bottom of his leaf-marked t-shirt over his hefty belly and waits for instructions, his fat tail waving slowly behind him. "Place could use more smiles, though," he says, "It would make things feel homier." He leans on a long spear with a leaf shaped blade.
Lina looks around from the top of the stairs. Making a grimace at the small town then she shrugs, and hops down from the stairs. She flex her wings and stretches a bit. She doesn't wear any clothes just a collar around her neck, black and white fur cover most of her body.
Semtexagon would look out from the van, scratching her head a little as she makes a last few checks on her chain sword... she's been put out into trouble some times by now, but have learned to defend herself. slowly rising up as she exits the truck, seathing the sword on her back as she does a few tightnings on her combat vest, not the best geared agent, but she could make a diffrence as a striker.* "ugh, i hope this isn't something that serious..."
A kaiju-sized metallic insect follows the truck from behind, as Epsilon would be too big to fit. As her regard graze around the small village, she notices both the others agents and that the village doesn't seems very special. Probably a place ledt unscattered by the nanites? Hopefully, things wouldn't go wrong this time around, not with her around.
Yuna hops off the truck, smiling widely as shi looks around the village. Walking to hir mate Seguro shi says "Well, looks like we finally made it so we're on a mission together, huh? And in such a nice place, too."
The people in the street turn to look at he agents, but mostly ignore them after a few seconds. It takes some time until finally a boar in pompous clothing comes to the assembled group. He looks them over, then asks "So you are the agents New Dawn sent us? Great, looks like you really can help" as he eyes the agents and their equipment. "thank god you finally arrived. We've been attacked by raiders for quite some time now, but until two nights ago, all they took was food and some equipment, but now they've begun to abduct people as well."
Seguro begins to look over the assembled agents before falling on the large kaiju, smiling the dragon says to a friend "It is good to see a face you can at least trust, how have you been agent Epsilon?" Seugro's sun hued gaze falls back to the boar quietly listening to the mutant's tale.
Althought Epsilon is working for the RSX, with the emblem on the back of her armor as a proof, but doesn't point it out as she deems it to be not revealant for the time being. Instead she lowers herself to be closer to the ground and asks, "Abductions? Why would they do that, ans who are they for doing it?".
Then she feels a wierd feeling on her back as she notices a familiar face, and says, "Oh, hey there, Seguro.". Also giving a quick glance around, she notices Yuna, before adding, "I see you came along Yuna for once?".
Fenris does not like to see so many Zephyr agents in a town with their own server. Not after last time. But if it will help these people, he is willing to overlook it. Besides. It was the corporation that deserved hating, not its individual agents. "They targeting anyone specific?" he asks, "Why would they start taking people if all they wanted before was supplies?" The tanuki bounces gently from foot to foot, ready for action.
Lina looks around, measuring up the boar. - "So will it be just raider hunting or do we have to get out the abducties first? That will be extra money isn't it?" - She scratch her horns with the wipe she is holding. - "Do we need some reinforcement? I could call in a small pack if needed." - She looks at the others. - Oh, i'm Lina by the way.
Semtexagon would be looking around the area slightly, but eventually finding herself wandering a bit over to the edge of the town, frowning to herself as she sees all thoose rather terrified mutants... a sad sight to behold, to live in fear.
The human pulled on his sling. "Alright, who do we got here?" He had a slight southern accent. "What we got is we got a little fox critter person, we got a bug lady, we got that little racoon dude I saw a little while ago, Lina looks pretty different... Aaand that dragon dude and... What the hell? Y'all can get that big? Holy hell, how do y' eat when yer that huge?" It took a moment for him to not be looking at the huge metal spider lady, mouthing curses. The hell. "Uh. Yeah, A.C. Dodson, call me Caulford. I'm with Zephyr Maintenance." He cranes his neck from the mayor boar to get a better look at the city. "Lemme at yer buildin' stuff, maybe I can make with th' defensing this place up. I ain't really that big a fighter."
Yuna stops in hir tracks as Seguro seems to completely ignore hir and goes after hir mate, beginning to climb up the dragon's back. When shi notices the boar, shi stops hir climbing, freezing on Seguro's back and listens to what the maior says. Shi lets hirself fall down once he's finished and begins to assemble hir recurve bow, getting ready to go after the raiders, though begins to feel smaller than ever as shi looks over the group of agents.
The boar shakes his head "We have no idea, why they do what they do. All we know is that they show up at nearly the same time every day. And it looks like you've just arrived in time" he exclaims while pointing behind the group, where suddenly another group of people has appeared. There are about ten different mutants there, all looking sternly at the agents. They all look as if they were looking to cause trouble to the village. One of them takes a step towards the agents "Hey! What are you folks doin' here?" he shouts, snarling.
Seguro jumps feeling a form climb up hir back, the dragon's regal head sniffs the air, shi catches the scent of a person shi knows well, the dragon hisses to the small form on hir back. "Yuna well, you the last person I figured would show up, perh�.. Seems we have company. Please make me a promise Dusty fox, you must never use your nova when there are innocents in harm's way, it's a power that may fell armies but will burn friend and foe alike. " The dragon readies a power, soon ablative layers of nanites gather around the fellow agents warding them from harm should it come to that.
Here comes trouble. From what the boar said, they are maroons that come here for their own greed.
Epsilon does a quick sign to Seguro and Yuna, implying that she's going first and says, "Here comes trouble. Oh. Also, the name's Epsilon.", before heading in front of the bunch.
Standing in front of the bunch, she says, "Hey punks. Wha' are ya doin' here. This place's none of yer buisness.", as she removes her gauntlet, showing off her clawed hand, and readies herself for a fight.
"Tanuki! Mister Dodson!" Fenris says with a smile, sauntering over to lean on his spear between the group of rowdies and the town proper, "I am a tanuki, and don't you forget it!" The hefty coon dog smiles at the ruffians on the street. "Just here to help," he says amiably, though he is quite ready and able to use that weapon of his.
Lina moves her jaw right and left she seems to be a bit irritated, she calls for her minions. - "So how much bounty are we getting for a live one and how much for a dead one?" -She stands back and let the others for the front line.
Semtexagon would turn her head as she draws her chain-sword out from its seath on her back, twisting a button as she starts it like a chainsaw, soon the engine on it whirrs as the chansaw-blade on the edge on it starts to move, the bee thumping a fist at her chest as she shouts at them* "You assholes are the cause of people being terrified, you lowlife inarogat snotblobs!"
Caulford jumps up in place when the goon squad came around. No time to prepare. He looked disappointed. "Aw, fuck, couldn't they have waited?" He muttered, adjusting the sling on his carbine. "Mister Tanooki then. You got any plans other than banging on some shields until they eventually do start th' fight?" He needed to prepare. He needed to prepare. "I don't suppose you lot're here for hospitality's sake?" He called out to them.
Yuna puts an arrow on hir bows string, pulles back and aims at the leader of the opposing group. "Hey, you're the ones that cause all the trouble here, right? How about you just turn around and show us where the abducted people are and i leave my arrows where they are? Be warned, they are poisened and not the only-goot-to-knock-you-unconscious kind of poison!" shi shouts out, quite enraged as shi's been abducted hirself once.
The raider's leader just laughs at the threats "We're not showing our hideout or slaves. But enough talk, ATTACK!" he shouts out, then he and the other raiders charge at the agents, most of them wielding clubs and other crude weapons.
Semtexagon would be shouting at the crowd, tough soon stopping as she allmost all of a sudden leaps into the air... but comically enough, she hadn't taken note for the strong winds in the air, and being an insectoid isn't really the most heavy thing, so as she jumps, she gets carried further and further up into the air, trying her best to remain in a better position, but failing rather... comically.
Seguro moves with the large kajiu, the dragon soon fans out from the insects side, there is the smell of chorine in the air as poison spills from the dragon's jaws, Seguro takes aim at the attackers making sure the gas will not hit hir fellow agents.
Slaves? Then they are up to no good. And maybe it would be a good time to use her custom needle as she pulls it off with her left hand and aims first for what seems like the leader. "You're not doing anything to them toda, guys!".
Since they are numerous, her body starts to work, creating and spewing sticky webs from her hidden spinneret and starts to throw them at the group with her clawed hand before lunging at the closest bandit.
Fenris shakes his head and whips his spear into action. The hefty tanuki lays about with his spear with surprising dexterity, striking and slapping viciously with both ends. "Completely uncivilized," he groans as he fights, "I would have much rather settle this over hamburgers or something."
Caulford tries to take cover behind a building and deploy his little buddy. He liked his little buddy. It was a helicopter blade with an M249 barrel and reciever attached, milled special to fit. He then decided to load the chamber and get ready to pick his target. Fuck all of this, he's not a fighter!
Lina starts to use Expansiveness as its instantly effecting her and with her mastermind skill her minions got the buffs, she steady her whip to use it as Sharpshooter. The minions works coordinated readying Protein Shield(4), Triage(3), Quad Punch(3), Electric Field(4)
"Fine, you asked for it" Yuna whispers, more to hirself than the raiders, then fires hir arrow at the leader, taking a second and fires it at the next enemy.
The charging raiders quickly fall to the combined attack of the agents. The people slowly come back into the street, looking at the scene in disbelieve. The mayor comes running over to them, thanking the group for what they already did. Though with the raiders all down, there's no way to just ask where their hideout is ...
Seguro waits for Epsilon to tie up most of the bandits, before injecting one of the bandit with an shot of adrenaline, the dragon hisses under hir breath about a waste of medical supplies. The dragon watches and waits for the hypo to take effect.
Thoses bandits were small fries. And probably low-ranked. Which would tell a lot about the villagers' fighting capabilities... Regardless, Epsilon ties up the bunch, so thar they don't try their luck again when they would wake up. And they wouldn't be too hard to move around wih her size.
Making sure that the awoken(?) bandit would be able to move but not to flee, she turns herself toward the group and says, "Whoever they are, they were pretty weak. Sray sharp.".
Lina while the other mess around with reviving the dead raider she pats down the rest of the riders beginning with the one who started speaking for them. She looking for maps, valuables, weapons anything pawnshopable or unusual.
"Completely uncivilized!" Fenris snorts, poking one of the ruffians with the butt of his spear. Thanks to the nanites, they will be up causing problems again in no time, but hopefully eating street will teach them a lesson. "So, these bozos just walk into town to gerrorize everyone?" He asks, "Anybody see where they come from?" The tanuki looks back over the dusty streets, hoping to find hints of where these bandits might have come from.
Fenris gets the paddle for the turn skipper!
Caulford pokes his head out. "Is the fight over? Did we win? Are the people okay? I hope the people are okay." He gets back from the building and checks out his drone buddy. CDD-1E was doing just fine. He looked around. That's a lot of blood. "... I hope all the town folk are okay."
Yuna draws another arrow and aims with hir bow ... at nothing as there's no raider left standing. Shi slowly lowers hir bow, but leaves the arrow on the string as shi pads closer to the bound raiders.
the raider that got Seguro's hypo injected groans as he slowly awakens. He looks at he groupwith hate filled eyes. "I never tell you, where hideout is" he says, but upon closer inspection, he doesn't even have to, since they were all but carefull in hiding their tracks.
Seguro smiles at the bandit as shi taps a stun baton with in hir hand, shi holds the baton toward the captive, a flick of a clawed and the unit comes to life, cracking with bright arks, Seguro says "sure we can't not come to an agreement? I am afraid that I never took the Hippocratic oath. Where are the hostages being held and how many are in your group?"
With a deviously evil regard on the bandit, Epsilon says, "You know, fighting idiots only make me hungry, and when i'm hungry... i tend to eat things just like you... So if you don't want to meet your doom, you're going to lead us to your hideout!".
Hopefully, with the bandits tied up, the villagers would be safe for thr time being, and as such, Epsilon also starts to search for clues, only half expecting an answer from their prisoner.
Fenris snorts and his smile grows as he sees the obvious trail the bandits have left. "This way!" he calls as he hops into a little trot, following the trail, "Feel free to bring your snack along if you like!" The hefty tanuki rests his spear on his shoulder as he jogs along.
Lina goes to the boar and ask him - "So do you know how many of them are, where do they come from? Who leads them. How much are you guys paying exactly for the raiders head and the rescue? " - she waits for this answers before following Fenris, hoping she doesnt have to sniff around to much.
Caulford slowly follows Lina and tries not to stay in her way. Usually, when he stays around Lina, bad things don't happen to him.
Yuna looks at the awoken raider, then into the direction Fenris is heading "So your hideout is that way?" shi asks, holding hir arrow to his throat threateningly "Because, you know, i've bee nabducted once myself, and i definitely can't stand people doing that to others. So either say the truth, or i just might push tis thing here a little harder, you got me?"
The raider looks at Seguro and Epsilon "Ok, ok, i tell you. The hideout is north. Slaves are there, boss and lots of friens. You want to know more, leave me that little fox and i tell you, deal?"
The mayor meanwhile shakes his head "We don't know, we keep hidden, when they come. But please, we'll give you everything we can, if you can help us get rid of them."
Seguro rises an golden scaled brow at the bandits response, smith a dark smile shi hisses. "You want me to leave you a little fox, alright then you should be careful what you ask for." The dragon takes command of the bandit's nanites and the mutants form begins to shrink and change till it resembles a micro fox. Seguro hisses "Fitting is it not, you now have a little fox, I could do worse much worse, perhaps remove a leg or two? Your not really in a situation to make demands are you?"
"North, uh. And lots of friends? Probably another weak bunch. As for that little fox... Hm... How to say...", then yells, "NO WAY!".
Having most likely gotten the most useful informations out of his small brain and with the help of Fenris, getting there would be an east task. "Who knows what would be awaiting us there...", as her regard points toward north.
Fenris is already well on his way, bouncing along beside the bandits' trail. "Allonsy!" his cry comes back faintly as he puts some distance behind him.
Lina follows the tail but want to wait for the others to so she slowly following fenris brushing up and preperring for the battle comming.
Caulford has this grim expression on his face. That "I don't want to go, but I signed the contract to go without thinking about it" face. It's a very specific face. He follows the trail alongside Lina, hanging back a bit to be a nice catch-up point for Seguro.
Yuna watches the raider shrinking and shifting, then reaches out with a hand to lift him up, holding him in front of hir face. "Now who's a little fox now?" shi asks, then simply tosses the raider over hir shoulder, not wanting to deal with him any more. Shi turns to hir mate "Mind if i get onto your back so we can follow the others faster?"
The raider screams as loud as he can as Yuna tosses him, but due to his size it's hardly any louder than when human sized people talk.
The track leads out of the village, then north towards some hills. On top of one of them is what looks like somekind of wooden fort, though not in it's best shape as the walls are missing some logs here and there.
Seguro nods to the pink furred fennec dropping to all fours, the dragon crouches down and offers a paw to Yuna to help hir clime abroad. The dragon waits for hir passenger to seat themselves before heading off in the direction of the others agents. Along the way Seguro speaks to yuna hissing in a regal bearing "Yeash that was a little much throwing him like that? Granted he was out of line but still. Also I won't be able to use my camouflage powers while you are riding me if we may need to sneak around and locate the hostages before going in with heavy force."
Fenris looks around at the strange menagerie gathering before the wooden fort. "I have an idea!" he says brightly, "One group can go look for the prisoners, and the other group can come with me." He waits for a couple of beats for someone to ask what he will be doing. Whether or not anyone asks, the tanuki grins broadly and skips to the fortress's heavy wooden door. "I will be causing a distraction!" he cheers as his trademark tanuki testicles (tm) suddenly balloon from his normally featureless groin and he swings the gigantic things like twin wrecking balls!
Lina waits for the others, she is in no mood to lunch an attack without proper support or reconinfos. Meanwhile she took her time to measure up her party members getting know them better.- "Wasn't a good idea to sign it without thinking, At least you have some combat skills?" - She ask the human.
Caulford rubs his arm uncomfortably. "Well, like. I can do that Nanite Adept hoodoo. I'm pretty tough. Thick skin runs in the family, got thicker after nanites got to it. Got a neat gun. And I can whack a few dudes with the stock if I get low on ammo or desperate enough." He slumps. "I, uh. I told you, not great in a fight."
Yuna holds onto hir mate as shi exclaims "Too much? He wanted to trade me! That son of a ..." shi begins, but stops mid sentence as shi sees the fort with Fenris already having begun to get in "Well, ... so much for you sneaking in, huh?"
The raiders didn't think of putting up with guards, so they only notice someone is at their forts walls, when they get crushed by a pair of tanui balls. Threee of them get immediatelly knocked out by the flying logs, while the other five try to avoid them as good as they can. Their boss gets woken up by the loud sounds outside his tent. He runs out of his tent, wanting to see what is going on, but stops in his tracks, as he sees the tanuki.
The nearly twenty foot golden scaled dragon with a pink furred rider soon charges on all fours past the battered gate rushing by the tankai. More intent on locating the hostages, Seguro ignores the guards for now peeking in window and searching the camp. The dragon hisses to hir mate "Given that we have the nano magic leave the tankai and the other agents deal with the guards given that they know we are here, they may they may to harm them. Keep me covered"
Gate battered away by his dragon cohort, Fenris gives a little wave to the stunned bandits before giving a little hop and a fast spin before flinging his wreckingball endowments at the poor shmucks. There is nothing quite so derailing as being attacked by a pair of Tanuki Testes. "YEEEEEEEHAW!" he cries as he sails at his foes, spear ready.
Lina curse at the tanuki charging the place. -"Hope he breaks her the balls." - She ready herself and order her minions to get moving. Lina: Electric Field(3), sidekick: Electric Field(4), omegamale: Protein Shield(4), alphamale: Threatening Presence(3) Upon entering the force she use her Expansiveness as its instantly effecting her with the combination of Stretchy she takes a deep breath and blow out an impossibly big deadly black cloud, you could see blue light blinking in the cloud.
Caulford blink blinks as things go from moderately alright to three-ton testicular wrecking balls weird. ALRIGHT, WELL. HERE WE GO. His drones go forth and he follows suit shortly afterwards. Hopefully he didn't need to shift into anything weird. Hopefully.
Yuna looks for any clues on where the 'slaves' could be as well. Shi spots a padlock on one of the doors leading into a small, windowless building and points it out to Seguro.
The raiders cough and quickly go down inside the poisonous cloud, while both Seguro with Yuna on hir back and the boss can evade it. The cloud blocks the way to the locked door now though and the boss makes his way to Lina.
Seguro snorting at the gas cloud, seguro shouts to hir mate "Hang on!" The dragons large gleaming wings extend outward, with a few powerful flaps of the large wings, the down draft being aimed at the door Seguro begins to work on dispersing the poison cloud.
Fenris's prodigious pendulums have shrunken away and vanished into his normally teddy bear-esque groin and he stands grinning over the fallen raiders. "See! Easy-peasy!" he says happily, holding his spear lightly, ready to act should any of the bandits decide that they had a bit more fight in them.
Lina close her months and smiles at the boss. She hold out her hand and maelstrom of tendrils are coming out of it, she tries to capture the boss in the web of tendrils. After that Her pack shield and sidekick tries to slow down and render inmobil to the incoming force with Slam and Gouging Claws meanwhile her supporter female pack members ready Triage and Tears of Life.
Caulford just sort of looks at all the horrible things that are happening to these raiders. It occurred to him that the raider situation was pretty handled. So, now was a good time to start looking for slaves to free.
Yuna looks down at the fort and the small building, but not being able to do much, can only wait for Seguro to land.
The boss gets cought in Lina's tendrils, curing loudly as he sees all of his men being already defeated. He still tries to reach Lina though, wanting to at least deal some damage to those who dared attack his fort.
Seguro takes the pad lock with one of hir large golden scaled paws, attempting to break the lock with sheer force of strength, the dragon curses under hir breath. "Where is ep when you need her."
Fenris advances carefully with his spear, ready to fight the leader if necessary, though it looks like others have it covered.
Lina sick her minions on the boss trying to keep it down with coordinated work. Meanwhile her two female keep up healing and buffing them with Nursing and group hug. She looks down on the still struggling creature. - "Surrender or i will tear your groin into pieces." - she licks her mouth and smiles at him, with the blue light is blinking in her eyes.
Yuna hops off Seguro's back and opens the door after the lock was smashed by the dragon. Peeking inside shi sees the abducted people from the vilage "Hey, come out, we're here to bring you back home" shi says, then moves out of the way, so they can get out.
With the abducted people freed, the raiders all down and their boss captured, the agents return to the village. The people there welcome them back, happy that they can finally live in peace again.
