The group is escorted downstairs by a female in army fatigues, "As I'm sure you're all aware, keeping vehicles operating has proved quite difficult since P day. Even our best mechanics find them breaking down days, sometimes hours, after repair."

The female appears to be predominantly human, though her feet are large feline paws, defying any attempt to put boots on them. The fur of them looks spotted.

The fox-featured girl named Kirstan nods, "Tell me about it, the amount of work it takes to keep my rifles in working condition is going up by the day, having to hunt around for some new barrels for them soon too." she seems quite ready to grumble along about maintenance issues.

Miranai was her mostly to visit her children, but seeing how they were talking about mechanics and such, she decided she'd stick around and see what was going on. "Umm.. oh.. y..yes fixing.. up some of.. these.. tools can be.. rough. I'm always running out of parts to.. tinker with." she says. The oddly colored fox taur pads along following the female with feline paws.

Tyl sticked to the back of the group, following along a few steps behind the rest as it was his plan just to observe and for the most part, stay out of the way. He was very curious about their technology demonstration though, due to his recent aquisition. Information provided here would be extremely valuable to him, unless it was just some begging-for-attention demonstration of how good a bunch of blueprints look on a projector screen. Violet tail flickered back and forth in a restrained excitement, and was careful not to hit anyone who might be bothered. 'Never know around RSX types,' he thought to himself.

Tiar shambles along and follows the speaker, listening and looking around at the semi-familiar area. He says nothing, rubbing the air where his jaw used to be as he attempts to think about where this could be going. He finally moans, rather sloppily "Will they eventually stop working completely?" as he considers the idea of limited resources.

Alkain hmms? as he wanders in with Miranai and nods in agreement with that, "Yeah, it can be hard to find parts." he looks around curiously a bit as he walks along, not having been here before

"So long as we keep putting in new parts, they keep working, but that's not very practical," states the RSX agent as she emerges into the garage, where many cars rest in various states of disrepair. She approaches one with a tarp over it, "But an idea came to our techs, and we're hoping you can give it a test spin while getting some important work done along the way."

Kirstan raises an eyebrow, "An idea? This sounds interesting, what does it do?" she asks, clearly not wanting the 'special info' behind it, just the results.

Miranai looks about at the decaying vehicals and nods, "Yes.. not... not practical at all, but.. if.. if you need help I could try a few things.." She stays close to Alkain, mostly for her own comfort. As the group stops at a betarped object though she goes quiet and waits to take a look.

Tyl would chuckle quietly to himself when it was revealed that they were to become test subjects in a little experiment, and his faith in the RSX boys and girls in the tech department was restored. 'Gods bless thee, kind and vigilant souls,' he would think to himself, still smirking. Remaining quiet, not wanting to get in the way of all the talking other members of this little group were doing, the feline pushed forwards with a song in his step.

Tiar perks up at the word work, ready and willing to take on any assigned tasks. As for driving, he can't make heads or tails of the vehicles besides the seats, and has no hope of understanding how to do so. "What job do you have for us?" he says as normally as he possibly can, attempting to keep slightly on his superiors good sides.

Alkain nods at that and hmms, "Yeah, it stands to reason that we'd run out of parts..." he smiles at Mira and keeps a hand on her taurback as he looks on curiously, eyeing the tarp'd vechicle curiously

Tack, the claw of the RSX agent clicks against the floor as she pivots in place. A hand reaches out, and she wrenches the tarp free, revealing the gleaming car beneath, clearly well taken care of, "You may have heard of the adjustments we've made to the helicopters. We've been working on and off to make similar changes to the cars. More tricky than you'd have thought. I'm not a tech myself," she says, patting at her chest where a badge rests, "Logistics division. Which brings us to the point of today's activity. There are several small towns at the outlying edge of the bubble that need resupply. Normally we send agents out on foot with the car packages, today, you get the car."

* care

Miranai looks over the car, with a bit of amazement. She takes time to note down it's general structure, as well as how it might work. "Umm. excuse me.. but, how.. how much life would this have? How.. how far could it go?" she asks wondering its specs. As an inventer herself she was curious as if this could be recreated, maybe if she had a chasis... and some parts. The gears of her head start spinning rapidly.

Tyl raised an eyebrow as the RSX agent told them they'd be taking this beautiful looking machine out for a test drive on a care package dropoff... towards the edge of the bubble. Dangerous territory, a valuable machine, and a bunch of random, lucky mutants, most of whom didn't seem to have any ties to RSX? Call him paranoid, but he didn't like the sound of this mission mutch anymore. He LOVED it. Thank goodness he was prepared. "More importantly, who gets the keys?" he'd ask after Miranai.

Nodding, the vixen smiles at this, "You want us along, I assume, in case any trouble turns up." she asks, although it doesn't seem to be a question. A furred hand reaching up to follow the lines of the vehicle, "What kind of resistance are we facing?" This, however, very much is.

Tiar thinks about it for a while and formulates that, the packages go to towns, and that a ride is in order for the task. "Okay Miss... ah..." he moans a little before stopping, not knowing what to call her he just leaves it at that, his job is simple, and it's time to go unless they have anything else to say.

Alkain blinks at the car and tilts his head, "Oh really?" he looks it over and smiles, "Cool." he nods to Mira and chuckles, "Good question, how long will it last?" he hmms? at the others and nods in agreement with their questions

That badge gets one more tap, "Logistics, not R

Miranai nods a few times but shakes her head and pulls off her pack, handing Alkain a pad of paper and some pins, "I have to head back... umm.. back home myself.. but.. Master Alkain? Could.. could you please take down.. umm.. some notes.. I'd.. I'd be curious how.. how it runs and works... any.. anything you notice Master?" she says a bit shakingly. With that, she picks up her pack and heads out the way she came, with a gentle nod for welcoming her into the garage for this demo to begin with.

Tiar nods as he takes the keys and looks over the group of canidates for driving. "I am Tiar, and I'll make sure it comes back Michelle." he says turning back to her before he hands the keys to Alkain as his first decision, unphased by the intimidation tactics of the over eager feline. "Would you drive?" he asks in a slow moan.

Alkain chuckles at Michelle and nods, "I see." he hmms? at Mira and nods as he takes the paper, "Sure Mira." he smiles before looking at the two with the keys, he shrugs a bit and blinks as he recives the keys, "Uh, sure." he chuckles a bit and gets in the drivers seat, looking over the wheel and adjusting things as needed

"The city has plenty of mutants in it, but they're usually not too agressive to food trucks, so long as you give them some. We did pack extra. If the crowd's getting thick, it's easier to pay them off than to try to cut a bloody hole through them, and risk damaging the car and the food. Your priority is getting the food to each drop off, dropping it off, and getting the car back." She produces a clipboard and holds it out, displaying a map of the city with the drop off points marked. "As for pay, you get the pride and satisfaction of helping the needy in these troubled times." When that doesn't work, she wobbles a pen, "I'll make sure you get a bonus."

Tyl looked extremely grumpy all of a sudden, shoulders slumping and his tail curling between his legs. "Fuck you, too..." he'd mumble to himself. "Fine. Shotgun." he'd hiss out, immediately stomping around to the passenger's side and getting in, only JUST resisting the urge to slam the door.

The vehicle, for those looking, is a van. Just the thing for such a trip. Perhaps a humvee would be nice, but, it's a van. Deal with it.

Looking over the vehicle, inspecting it for any weaknesses, Kirstan is actually looking for any positions she could set up her rifle. Not spotting any on the plain-looking van, she sighs and starts digging into her gear-bag, pulling on her combat fatigues and hefting her rifles up to her shoulder.

Tiar moves to board the vehicle, unintersted quite so much in the pay, as he is with getting the job done. "Load up, and we'll get going. Packages, deliver, towns." he says to himself in rather slurred way, peeking out the back of the van as he looks over the cargo. He gives Michelle a wave as he gets ready to go.

Alkain hmms as he feels everything is right and nods as he waits for everyone to get in, "Alright, sounds good." he chuckles a little as he accepts the clipboard, "Well... That everyone?" he looks at the others and nods as he looks back to Michelle, "I'll try to bring her back in one piece." then they're off!

The vehicle, when turned on, is almost silent. It's clearly an electric motor, churning with its quiet humming. "The boys," says Michelle, "Say that less moving parts makes it more reliable. We'll see if they earned their pay." She slaps the hood twice, then moves out of the way with a whistle, "Good luck."

Tyl huffed, rolling down the van's passenger side window and looking out at the concrete below, cheek resting on his hand and his elbow resting on the open window's edge. 'Another damned thing not goin' my way,' he thought to himself. 'Dumb RSX Zombie slurrs his words and is only in charge 'cuz he's a dumb lap dog.' Ear would flicker as the vehicle started up, and he couldn't help but be impressed, even in his grumpy mood, with the near silence of it. Damn he wished he was driving. Perhaps he'd take over later.

Kirstan climbs into the back, the van dipping a little as she does so, the girl clearly carrying quite a load on her back, what with her rifles and pack.

Onwards! The first step on the journey takes about half an hour to get to, and most mutants seem to only just notice the car speeding past after it's half past them. Curious eyes following the silent speedster. Approaching the first settlement, the stout fences bar the way. An aryan 'perfect' human steps out, clearly infected with one of the local strains, "RSX?" he asks, "We were getting worried, you're late." And he pulls the gate aside, allowing the car in to unload.

Alkain hmms at the silent van and smiles, "Cool." he chuckles a little more and grins as he watches the road, he hmms? and nods as he pulls into the town, "That's what we're here for." he smiles a bit

Tiar listens to Tyl and squints, shaking his head. Now is not the time to smack him in the back of the head, now is the time for work. He pushes forward to check the clipboard, and nods. He watches the ferals outside, only stepping out to unload a bit when the van is allowed inside and comes to a halt. He checks the list to see how many places he'll be going, and tries to divide the amount into enough for them and one more, for feeding ferals who swarm them.

"Got us testing some new equipment, you know how it is with R an' D." Kirstan mutters with a smile, the language of all put-upon grunts coming easy to the fox girl.

Tyl would, at least, get out of the vehicle to help unload equipment in silence. It annoyed him even further to find that his feminine body wasn't nearly as strong as before he was changed, and as such, he could only carry a bit at a time. Great, just another thing to put him into a cheery mood. "For fucks sake..." he'd groan to himself, setting down the first box.

"Nice car," agrees the gate man as he pushes said gate back into position, "Don't see them often." Others emerge, most of them normal humans, though many sporting mild infections local to woodfield. It doesn't take long for the food to be taken, but there's plenty more for the next stop. "Good luck out there," says the gate man, "West side's looking pretty rough. Strange crowd out there."

Kirstan finishes helping unload and nods, "Thanks for the heads-up. Worst comes to worst we will drop some extra rations off for them and move through while they are busy." she tells him, climbing in the back again.

Alkain helps out with as much of the unload as he can before looking to Tyl, "What?" at the groan, he shrugs a bit and gets back into the drivers seat before he nods to the gate guard, "I see, we'll be careful." he smiles as he waits for the gate to open before driving off

Tiar climbs back into the vehicle, and nods to the guard, taking in important details and nothing else, crowd, west, rough. He seems ready to fight if needed, but not a whole crowd. Then he'd have to do what he was told to do, and give them some. He looks to Alkain and would smile, if he could, as they take off towards the next destination.

Putting the small settlement behind, the next two are taken care of with equal ease, dropping off goods to grateful residents. Most of it is food, but it seems the third town has a bit of a disease problem. One would think the nanites would prevent such, but several sickly looking people are laid out under a tent, and one of the boxes delivered is popped open to reveal hypoderms and plasma bags that are hurried over to the suffering. As the car moves for the last step, on the west side of town, the impression of being watched grows from mild curiosity to outright malice.

Tyl would look towards Alkain and shake his head quickly. "Nothing." he'd lie in a low grunt. After they would finish, the feline hops back into the passenger's seat, dissatisfied with his carrying strength. He'd have to SHOUT at Ciel next time he saw her. Well, not shout, just get her to do it immediately. With the advice of the gate guard, he'd check over all his weapons, and set his SMG in his lap.

Alkain helps out with the delievering of supplies and takes notes in his spare time about the van, mainly how it handles and small stuff like that. He hmms? at Tiar and blinks at thet odd look, he shrugs and keeps his focus on driving. He blinks at the feeling of being watched and shrugs, "Well, this'll be interesting." famous last words?

Slipping up to the side door of the van, Kirstan rolls it open and looks outside, her M40 in her hands, the girl braced and ready. Of course the safety is still on and her finger is off the trigger, she is ready, not stupid.

Tiar grumbles at the feeling of being watched and tries to put off an intimidating look through the window, ready to lash out at whoever would approach ungrouped. "Get some food ready."

Tyl would look around the van quickly and realize that with Tiar and Kirstan both readying their weapons, and Alkain still driving, he'd be the one that'd have to deliver the food. Supposed it was okay, though, he knew he could handle himself if necissary. "Fine. One second." he'd say, hopping into the back and pulling out a few small ration packs, holding them in a stack and ready to toss them like frisbees.

As the group pushes onwards, a figure steps out in front of the car, flanked with several others. The figure is black and white, and short. A very short skunk. She wears little, nor do the others. While she does not seem to fit the local mutations, the others do, appearing to be an evil nurse and some hair bound women, all staring balefully at the car. "Stop!" calls out the short skunk, "By order of the Church of Promethea, surrender your car and valuables and you will be embraced with love. Resist, and we will take it by force."

Alkain blinks as that figure steps in front of the car and winces as he slams on the brakes, "Crap..." as he looks at the others, "Well, I don't think they're looking for food..." he looks back at the other group of mutants and frowns, "What do we do?"

Kirstan sighs, "Well, I don't think we will have too much luck getting out of this without a fight. Ideas?" she asks, shouldering that rifle and lifting up her M81 instead, checking the chamber and sliding in a clip of green-tipped 50cal rounds.

Tiar thinks to the best of his ability, then gets out and says "Someone stay in the car and lock it?" as he moves to confront the foes to his mission. "You... could love me?" he stammers sloppily, moving in close to look the skunk in the eyes. That sounds silly, but they're willing to risk being hit by the car, maybe he could talk.

Tyl chuckled, and then looked over his shoulder at the rest of his group once the Church stopped them. "Oh, fun." he'd cackle, wanting to toss one of his food rations out there just like these crazies were more ferals to feed and take pity on. But he refrained, probably for the benefit of the group. "What now, Mr. Leader?" he'd turn to ask Tiar with a grin, wondering if the zombie could even come up with a proper plan. As the zombie stepped outside, Tyl would jump on the opportunity to lock him out, and did so. "Go get 'em, tiger." he'd say to the zombie, mixing a rather distasteful taunt with genuine hope that he was able to talk them out of their little raid.

"Oh," says the small skunk female, "I didn't expect that, but good. We love you too. Open the back of the van, and sit down beside it. We'll unload it, and then we can welcome you with a proper celebration. Hmm, and your friends?"

Tiar says "I cannot speak for them." as he moves to guide the skunk with him to the back of the van, before he lashes out with a headbutt aimed at their forehead, saying "Get out and help, someone stay inside, locked."

And so battle began!

Alkain glances at Kirstan and shrugs, "I'll stay with the van..." he looks out at the church-goers and frowns as he calls out, "This food is for everybody you know." he sighs a bit

Tyl would quickly unlock the door again and stop out, SMG unfolded in one hand and a pack of rations in the other, which would be, tossed like a frizbee, at the head of the skunk. That cheered him up enough to enjoy this little fight, or so it seemed.

Kirstan moves to the rear of the party, crouching down, taking careful aim before the relative silence of the city is shattered by her rifles voice.

Rather than reload her big gun, Kistan instead opts to draw her pistol and take a quick shot at the little mephit.

As her assistants go down, the small skunk gives a loud and piercing whistle, summoning backup from a nearby building.

Taking a quick hit from one of her special supplies, Kirstan draws her m40 up to take another quick shot.

Tiar start to ready his superior fists for application to these mutants faces, moaning and grunting as he goes on.

Realizing things are not going as well as she would hope, Kirstan begins to put out an odd scent that while it affects the people around her in a quite distracting way, will help them despite it.

Spotting just one target remaining, Kirstan smiles and draws her pistol, aiming carefully...

With the last mutant laid low, the path is made clear. Nothing else impedes the way to the last settlement, which is especially happy to receive the RSX load, "It's been so long since the last one. We were afraid they forgot us." It seems that shipments have been being interrupted for some time, but with the supplies in hand, the populace is rescued.

Tyl was seriously injured in combat, and completely knocked out cold by one of the blows. Probably because of his taunt, the mutants seemed to pick on him, and he suffered the worst of battle for it.

Panting after the last shot, her own musk having affected her despite herself, Kirstan focuses to stop the wave of need before it takes any level of control over her. Checking her weapons, she calls, "Head count, anyone down?"

Tiar watches the enemies go down easily to the party and hurries the group on to the apparently needy town. Tiar never did like church, they always seemed to conflict with his goals, but something was odd about that one. The job however is done, besides returning the car. "Keep some food to keep ferals away, lets go." he says as he loads back into the van.

Alkain unlocks the doors after the fight is over and drags Tyl into the van, "Well, that went well..." he waits for everyone else to get back in before driving off, he glances back at Kirstan and nods to Tyl, "He did."

Tyl remained unconcious as he was dragged into the van. It seems that, considering he wasn't wearing any armor, he was very severely wounded in the torso and head.

"Shit, hold on, I can give them some basic aid." Kirstan says, finding one member of the party out of it. While the van progresses to its destination, she begins first aid on Tyl.

The van, to its credit, runs smoothly, all the way up to about five blocks away from the garage, when it just sputters and slows to a stop, refusing to turn back on again. Sigh. At least it proves easy enough to push along. Its engine seems to be quite light, however it's built. Once dropped off, Tyl is hurried off for medical treatment, and payment is produced. "We'll have to continue looking into it, but it ran further than I hoped for," says Michelle, taking notes, "Good work out there, all of you."

Kirstan debriefs to the part-cat, informing her of the Church's antics.

Tiar says "There was a group of a church halting supply runs for a while." to Michelle before he leaves them to take care of their car.

"Promethea? Worst of the scum," she says with a scowl, scribbling, "I'll be sure intelligence hears about that. We can't have them starving out survivors."

"It wouldn't be so bad if they at least acted like a real church, supporting their communities..." Kirstan mumbles, checking over her gear in a very professional manner.

Alkain nods as he gets out of the van and sighs, "Yeah, would be nice..." he scribbles some more on his notes for Mira before he looks around, "Well, that's it I guess?"

"Yes. I've sent words to your superiors," she says, looking over the crowd, "They've approved reward merits on your records for valorous duty," A flash of a smile.

Tiar takes one last look at the car and then nods to Michelle, unsure what else to do. His job was done, he should probably go back outside and let the garage do their job.
