The usualy quiet Cat town was a buzz with activity today, many of the felines out and about at night instead of in their beds fast asleep. Word had spread about the books that had been found, and most of the citizens were rather curious as to what they contained as the flocked towards the Town Hall.

Arano walks over towards the rather obviously named 'Cat Town', checking his comm unit to review the information about the job, muttering to himself, "Okay, so, retrieve books for scanning... and try not to wreck the place this time... honestly, you'd think with that last one Zephyr doesn't trust me anymore or something..." He then finds himself a spot in the town square - looking visibly out of place in his distinctive draconic form. Rather than being dressed in camoflage and looking for a fight, he wears simple t-shirt and jeans, though brings along his rifle because, well, the apocalypse IS still on last he checked. Standing around in the square, he waits for the other members of the party to show up, wondering who he'd be working with this time.

A town? For cats? Dio runs through a small mental checklist. Fuzzy? Check. Clawed? Check. Barbed for her pleasure? Check. A love of naps? Chhhhhheck! With his typical semi-formal attire, the silver lion had already given the place a good once-over before the mission even started. Talk about convenience. Finding a nice park bench, he leans back a little and rests his eyes, eventually devolving to a mighty snore and a trip to dreamland where images of catgirls and lioness assault his mind with their splendor. However, this fantastic adventure shatters as a ball of yarn slams into his head, causing the feline to shoot out of his seat and look around. "Ah! Yes! Books," he says, trying to pretend he wasn't a victim of a catnap. "Of course."

The gates are swung open once more with the telltale creaks of being ramshackle jury-rigged piles of crap! This is immediately followed by a series of POP-POPs as Cookies begins pulling out small confetti popper guns, firing them off and tossing them away only to quickdraw more just as quickly. "MOMMY'S HOME!" She declares at top volume before striding forwards, discarding the last couple of guns. "Those were gonna degrade soon so I had to do something with them you see," she explains to one of the various feline passer-bys turning their heads and waving to her, hopefully used to her 'unique' methods of entering the town. There was this one time with molotovs, though-- Well, anyway, the cat makes her way into town hall and takes the podium which seems to have been rigged into something more of a judge booth, waiting for her citizens to assemble.

A storm dragon trots into Cat Town, peering around with open curiosity and fascination. It isn't so much that Acetyl finds Cat Town itself so interesting - although the sexless mutant has never been here before. Rather, Acetyl is being drawn by the tantalizing rumor of books. It was just a happy bonus that Zephyr had asked it to help with the retrieval - even if they hadn't, Acetyl would still have shown up if at all possible. A grin of anticipation splits the broad, heavy muzzle as the mutant prowls this way and that, exploring. After a few minutes, Acetyl spots a gathering cluster of people, one or two of whom it recognizes as fellow Zephyr agents. Figuring that's likely the place to be - or if it isn't, that those people will lead Acetyl to it soon enough -- the storm dragon heads on over, nearly bouncing on its padded paws with glee.

Nichole had been napping the night away until the commotion started in the town square, the cat girl lingering on in a tree she had been climbing because of something. It might have had to do with birds or perhaps some words that involved birds being the words. Oh right there were books to retrieve for Science! that she needed to look at tonight. The girl stretched out in her tree, nicely warmed in her large jacket and looked down across the gathering so far.

"Dragon, liony thing, " She muttered to herself as she appraised everyone. The mayor was here with his usual large entrance although truth be told she was rather disappointed there wasn't a bigger gun used to make a tree into sawdust. The lion beast was rather large, not as big as the solar dragon but still bigger than her, and would make the perfect target for her latest bit of not nyasty teasing.

Her feet and hands rested on the limb, claws on her fingers digging in a bit as she tensed her legs up and finally shouted out. "Stealth Ninja Science Kitten Jumping Hidden Attack From Beyond The Heavens!" Once her attack name had been shouted out, assured no one could possibly anticipate it thanks to having both Science and ninjas involved, she lept forward toward Dio. The Lion was just too good of a target to pounce with a nice tackling hug from above.

Slithering into town on her tendrils, the black latex plant enjoys the darkness. With a slow overlook at most of the gathering, Savi decides to head for Dio rather than the gathering congregation. Though she fully supported Cat Town, it was more for her liking of Cookies than a desire to spend a lot of time here. Deciding foremost to cut to the chase she slides stealthfully towards the reclining creature. "Hi." she says softly, hand digging into her pocket. "This may get out of hand fast Deeoh. Savi has an idea." with that she pulls out a couple dozen napkins and a grease pencil. "Savi remembers the library."

Fenris is DYING of curiosity. Which is strange. Being in Cat Town brings out all the cat weirdness in him. It's probably the nip that floats subtly through the air. Hmmm… nip… NO! He shrugs his his shoulders to straighten his long duster and takes a deep breath trying to suppress his inner kitty-kat. Those books could be important. History, technical knowledge, forgotten legends or occult rites, they could be very, very important in this crazy world and it won't help anyone if he can be distracted by a laser pointer. He squares his shoulders and puts his business face on as he joins the crowd at the town hall.

Nytas approches the gate to the town of cats slightly distracted as she tries to fight her heat after her expiriance last night. "o...ok" as she recollects her thoughtss for a bit, "Orders were to pick up some old books and return. Tho why they sent a medic if it was going to be a peaceful one, ill never know." lost in thought she bumps into Arano who was waiting. "ow..." as she notices. "oh im sorry..." as she picks herself up. "Zyphere Staff medic Nytas reporting." as she re adjusts her Rifle straped to her back and her med kit at her waste, wearing nothing but a vest with a red cross on it, A collor with a tag, also with a red cross on it engraved with: Nytas and under it : Field medic, and a pair of shorts that seemed uncomfortable to those who looked at her.

The Mayor returns! Many of her citizens rejoices, those that don't are way to busy enjoying the catnip they found, oh those nip addicts. Then the rest of the group is noticed, many of the felines turning to regard them with curious looks...That is until a ball of yarn rolls by.

Arano turns to glance down at the fox girl, who he took to be rather nervous, he chuckles a bit at the field medic, "Calm down there... Nytas? This isn't the military, and pretty sure I'm not the one in charge... though I tend to notice that Zephyr doesn't really establish chain of command, they seem to just throw clumps people at problems until somebody comes back alive - but they pay well so can't complain. Anyway, on this one I think I'll defer to..." he then turns towards the lion, just in time to hear the 'sneak attack' declare itself very, very loudly, "...Dio..." watching as the scene unfolds and not really sure how to respond.

Dio takes a moment to rub and hopefully remove the heavy iron weights threatening to once more lock his eyelids down for a few more minutes. Or hours. Let's not lie to ourselves now. The lion stretches his long liony arms to the sky and lets out a baritone yawn with impressive power. "Excuse me!" Dio snaps himself to attention, suddenly dropping those arms like hot potatoes and taking a deep bow. "One should not yawn and such in front of a lady. Please accept my apologies. And yes, sometimes things have a way of getting a little... Unorthodox? These people seem rather docile for the most part, but I'd be happy to listen to what you have, ma'am." Dio leans in to look at whatever Savi might be writing and rubs at his chin.

"The library? I heard tha-" Hearing the blistering loud silent attack, he attempt to turn around to picture the disturbance and is only met with a backfull of cat girl, forcing him to the ground. He lays there for a moment, saying not a word as he rests his head face-down in the ground until he finally breaks the silence. "Good day, ma'am," he says in a somewhat muffled voice.

Cookies taps her fingers against her podium and peers at the citizens. "AL-right," she declares. "Alright alright alright. I hear there's a lot of fuss about some nice things being found around here- something... A store, a store for books. Inked papyrus," she murmurs the last word, still staring out with almost-glaring eyes. "You know the drill, people. I want to know exactly what it is we found." She glances aside. "I really hope it's a new pair of gate doors. Or better builders," she sasses! How... /catty/.

Acetyl arrives on the edges of the growing group just in time to hear Arano's comment about Zephyr. It barks out a sharp laugh, the sound oddly reminiscent of a muted thunderclap. "Truth!" The agent looks as if it might have been about to continue, but about then, Dio gets pounced and goes down. Acetyl blinks, tilting its head to one side quizzically. One large, pointed ear flexes backward. Then it shakes its head and chuckles. Iatro, the nanite golem hovering around Acetyl's legs, takes advantage of its companion's distraction and inches forward a few steps, snuffling at Dio's face with its skeletal muzzle. Then the mandible drops slightly, allowing a length of cloth bandage to unfurl, as if rolling off a hidden spool somewhere in the thing's 'throat'. The construct of bones and medical debris then proceeds to 'lick' Dio's face. Iatro's bony tail wags happily. Acetyl blinks, notices what Iatro is up to, looks as if it's about to scold the creature... then just sighs. "Iatro, you've got to learn some manners, boyo," is all the storm dragon can bring itself to say. "Sorry, man," it adds in a mildly embarrassed aside to Dio. "Er, need a hand up?"

Nichole wrapped her legs around Dio's torso as her arms moved to snake around his neck between the soil and his warm flesh as her face buries itself in the liony mane. Her eyebrow raises a little as Dio greets her, breasts pressing into his back as she adopted her own more sophisticated tone. "Good evening most gracious sir. Welcome to Cat Town and I assume you're here to investigate the little kerfuffle occuring at the local library? I'm Nichole, scientist, field medic, researcher, and so forth. Her limbs didn't seem as though she was about to let go and she was surprisingly strong for her size.

The local goings on were moslty ignored by her thus far, Cookie's rants something fairly common and with the attention span of most cats it wasn't focused on quite as much as those right in front of her. Still books were fun anyway and aside from nice reading material they made the best beds if someone else wanted that particular one at the same time. The nearby plant was a familiar one or at least the infection was, although the latex wasn't something she usually saw about them. The antics of the little pet thing moving close was rather odd though, another new thing, and her ears swivled toward it curiously as her tail curled up a little almost like a question mark. "Now what is that unusual little construct. I don't recall that being in the manual."

Looking to all the felines Savi tries hard not to smile. The one that hit Dio even more so, she was rather fond of the species.. always had been. Of course by always she means as long as she could remember, but then again she couldn't remember why she had advanced engineering skills.. such is life. With a slight chuckle she reaches in her other pocket, pulls out a shiny metal chunk from a left over truck part, and shakes it a few times in front of Nichole. "Look pretty kitty... shiny." as she finishes the word, Saviante tosses the object lightly across the area in the other direction. Her toss isnt designed to go over very far, but rather hit and roll through the light of city hall across the remainder of the distance it travels. Shiny and moving... With a look at Dio, a smile showing brightly in her eyes Savi tries not to laugh and what she expects to happen next. "Oh... Savi is sorry.. Kinda." Thrusting the napkin and pencil at Dio she returns to her point. "Titles need to be written down the second they come through the door from wherever they are. We need to know what there is now, people have agendas."

Fenris moans. "Yaaaaarn!" What is it about this town? The yarn normally wouldn't even interest him. Shoving the desire to play pounce with that delightful ball of string down, he focuses on what the Mayor said. Inked papyrus!? That has some real potential! If he can just focus on the goal, it should keep him from getting distracted by the incredible cat-ness of this place. He almost pounces as Savi throws her shiny, but now that he has a goal, Fenris will not be sidetracked. Much. "Library, books, knowledge, focus, focus, focus." He mutters to himself as a mantra.

Nytas appologizes as she looks over at the lion thing getting pounced on. She smiles a bit at the size difference befor her thoughts start to wander again as she shifts herself to try to aleviate some of the uncomfrtable restriction her shorts are giving, but keeping them on due to it hideing her scent of being in heat from the individuals around. "damn shorts" She mutters as she turns back to Ace, "so dio is whos in charge here?"

Many eyes followed the path of the round mysterious shiny, legs tencing up as they get ready to pounce at their new prey, before the group distracts them once more. But in the Town hall another scene unfolds, as a Panther walks up next to their beloved mayor and whispers into their ear exactly what they found. "Books, many fun kitty books!" Came a shout from the crowd, a tiny Ocelot that couldn't seem to stand still was just a little to exstentric it seems and just couldn't help the outburst.

Arano glances towards the town hall with the crowd - OK, so kitty books? He really hoped he didn't get in there and it turns out all they dug up was cat stuff. Sighing a bit as he sees Dio tackled by somebody much smaller than himself, Arano simply shakes his head and turns to the fox girl, "Nobody is 'in charge' per se - as I said, Zephyr clumps us together and hopes for the best. I just defer to Dio myself because I figure if somebody is going to run an operation in a city made up entirely of kitty cats, it should probably be a feline, and of all the felines here, I trust Dio the most..." he then turns to the town hall where the 'mayor' who he knows still only as 'marilyn' walked in, "...also he's doing the mayor, so all the more reason to let him take point on this."

"Quite right ma'am," Dio says, short leonine muzzle still burried into the soft grown below. "What a lucrative job description as well." Putting his strong arms upon the floor, the lion attempts to bring himself up but is temporarily haulted by a strange lick to his face, stunning him slightly as he holds himself but a few inches above ground in a push-up like position. "That's an interesting... Thing you have there. Thank you for the offer, but I think I've got it." With a bit of physical effort and a small grunt, the lion finally pushes himself back upon his feet and begins brushing down his suit.

"Please allow me to introduce myself for those wo haven't heard my name. Dio is what I go by. I'm a business man by trade, as I've taken to calling it. Lately, it seems I've become more of a mode of transportation for beautiful ladies, but such is life. I shall not complain." With the gentle grace of his hand, Dio takes the pencil and paper from the latex plant and clutches it. "Very well my lady," he nods. "But let us first make sure these books are secure." With cat girl cargo secured upon his back, he makes his way for the town hall and pushes his way through the crowd until he ends up at the poduim's base. "Hello, my lovely mayor. You're looking as beautiful as ever."

Cookies listens to the panther, nodding and then leaning against her podium with a sigh, elbows against the top and hands covering her face. "You people are so goddamn vain," she says with a sigh. "Okay. Whatever it takes to get you-all off of the nip I guess. I want people securing the store. We'll make a library of our very own. Hopefully we can stock it with more /actual/ literature." She shifts her weight onto one leg and gives the crowd another suspicious peer. "I bet half of you don't even know what the Cheshire cat even is. Shameful! Now! Before we get to the construction work... does anyone have any solid examples to give me? I need to check out what condition they're in, what their actual contents are, whether or not they're worth keeping or trading off. Did anyone get any veterinary texts? That'd be something worth keeping," she mayorally nyas.

Nichole hadn't been forced off or asked to let go and so was lothe to give up her new mode of lion based transportation thus far. Her tail swished behind her lightly as she clung there and stared toward the library as they walked toward the town hall, not really in the prime direction to go and there were kitty books to be had but still, there were still interesting times to be had. Her eyes drifted around his head toward the mayor, who recieved a little wave. "Good day mayor. As much as giving Lewis Carroll a foothold in town would be fun I do think speculating on things is less productive than actually going there and then dealing with it. There are vetrinary texts in the Zypher and we can make copies if need be so the primary concern should be heading over there now and then assessing the situation. Dio, was it? Do be a dear and let's get moving."

"Iatro... is a long story," Acetyl sighs in response to the people commenting on the little nanite golem. For his part, the creature lifts his head and peers around with his empty eye-sockets at the people standing around, like a weird parody of a curious and happy dog. "I'll tell you guys later if you really wanna know. Right now we've got books to look into!" The storm dragon's golden-bronze eyes light up with restrained glee as it speaks the word 'books'. Following the flow of the group, it looks around curiously, waiting eagerly to get to wherever these books are and start playing with - er, that is, recovering and cataloging them. Iatro, for his part, wags hopefully up at those standing nearest, with a manner that would scream 'pet me' if Iatro were a dog or cat.

Savi chuckles slightly at the kitty confusion and follows the group inside, hoping against hope that the energetic Cookies wasn't accidently inciting a riot. Staying close to the exit, Savi keeps one eye on the crowd, but tries to keep her view on the door. Staying silent and watching intently She just waits for the word as to which house the books were found under. There was something to do here and right now the books were more important than exciting speeches, even ones from alluring baked good designated mayor cat girls.

Fenris's little foray into kittyness jerks to an end. The little ocelot's outburst hits him like a bucket of cold water. These crazy cats can't be allowed to tamper with the books before they are studied! Fenris can only imagine with horror what would happen to all of the information that might be in those books if the cats of cat town decide to play "scatter the papers" with them. Taking a chance, he pulls out his laser pistol and takes a shot out the door into the air. "O Dog! It's the red dot! It will take all the kitty books! Everyone after it!" He shouts as he slips to the side, hoping for a cat-pede of the least useful of the town's denizens.

Nytas was watching the mayor make her speech for a bit and then turned to the library. "Well, if were going to do this we shuld sta..." she snaps her attention to the laser fire as she instinctively puts her hand on her sniper rifle, ready to draw it when she needed it as she continues to shift, about at her limits for these things called "shorts".

Cookies question is met with silence, the Ocelot scratches its head for a few seconds before it speaks again. "Well...th-they are kittie books!" Yep, kittie books. Then whats this? The Red dot of doom has appeared to steal their precious books? The room goes silent once more, before it explodes! Panic runs throughout the crowd as the felines stamped outside to protect their precious kitty literature from the evil Red dot of doom!

"Of course ma'am, of course," Dio replies, nodding his head and reaching back with a hand until his fingers find his target. His fingers gently scratch upon the back of Nichole's neck in just the right spot as he listens to the mayor. "Let me just ask where this store in question is. Perhaps the mayor is aware?"

With a sudden laser shot firing off, Dio spins around to view the shooter and tilts his eyebrows. Well, at least no one is dead yet. Perhaps with this, he could get the town on his side a little...

Running out of the building himself, the lion begins to shout to capture what attention he may. "MILK!" He proclaims like a sort of salesman. "MILK LIKE YOU'VE NEVER HAD IT BEFORE! YOU CAN'T PASS THIS UP! DON'T LET THE SILLY RED DOT TAKE AWAY WHAT I HAVE TO OFFER."

Cookies scoffs down at Nichole. "Hey look who we got here, it's the mayor of Cat Town, and oh good she's a Zephyr patsy--" She is promptly interrupted by weaponsfire and the rush of felines leaving her meeting. She stares absolute cold death at Fenris. Hopping over the front of her podium, she seems to be moving towards him but instead walks past, holding up a finger, pointing at him and growling, "You are going to fucking hurt," in her most promising tone before making her way to follow the crowd to the shop. She was on edge now, irate beyond measure as she pushes her way through the crowd. She gives Dio a side glance as she passes. Who was that atop him this time anyway?

Aaand all of a sudden, things went from interesting to tense. Real fast. Acetyl isn't sure quite what just happened, but it does its best to just stay out of the way, watching Cookies confront Fenris with an awkward little shuffle. Iatro, meanwhile, snuffles around on the ground until he finds the shiny bit of metal that was thrown as a distraction earlier. Once he finds it, he picks it up in his mouth. Unpleasant crunching sounds ensue.

Nichole purrs a little as her neck was scratched, losing the cool nature she had possessed before in her mind and reverting to a little more of the cat like state most residents seemed to possess. Cookies' catty nature wasn't that surprising and with the scratches certainly not worth comment. Besides the mayor wasn't really that important anyway to her at least although she should probably make an effort to remember her name eventually... maybe. The laser shot though certainly wasn't anything she was expecting at all! The deadly red dot of doom fireing off like a bolt that would pierce the heavens until the beam diffused in the atmosphere into the same mix of protons as everything else in defiance of all cat Science! everywhere.

Her grip loosened as Dio suddenly run out and she slipped off the lion's back to land on the floor with a slightly undignified thump. Her ears twitched a bit as her tail lashed in annoyance until the latest offering came up. Dio had milk the entire time and was clearly holding out. The nerve! There was only one way to get back at this particular problem and that was to go check out the library while everyone was distracted and steal a book or two for herself.

The cat girl patted off her jacket of any lingering dust and strolled away toward the rumored library location. If nothing else it would be an adventure to play around with before the others caught up if they weren't already following behind.

Savi sighs deeply and follows the crowd, there was no end to the random chaos it seemed. Trying to stay to the side of the large mass she does everything she can to catch up and possibly gain ground with the rushing horde. Paying close attention to the direction the group is going Savi knows Cookies is going to be rather upset at what happens next. Fliging her arms to her face with a scream, Savi yells point one hand back toward the city hall. "IT'S NOT AFTER THE BOOKS IT'S TRYING TO LURE OUT THE MAYOR, QUICK PROTECT THE MAYOR!! GET HER BACK INT HE CITY HALL!!" without waiting to see a reaction Savi quickly hurries the direction the crowd was headed, trusting her engineering skills to be able to see which buildings were under construction, and overall looking for the library/house in general.

Fenris steps forward, where the Mayor can see him, but hopefully can't get off a clear shot. "Mayor, perhaps it would be best if those of us still here headed up the effort to collect the books you've found." He gestures back to the empty town hall, "the rest of your citizens might be a little too high strung for delicate work." Praying that the cat mayor is still listening and not lining up a shot he continues, "we can get the books collected and scanned so that the knowledge and culture in them are safe from an innocent game of 'scatter the papers' and then help you set up a library here in Cat Town." He does his best not to cringe. "I'm sorry about the chaos, but I guess we're all a little mad here. Right?" Fenris follows quickly after the Mayor, hoping that her threat to hurt him doesn't result in lasting damage. The psychological kind. The nanites don't seem to heal mental scarring.

as she saw the result of the blast being a mass of confusion as the resedents figred out the Kerfluffle, she turned back to the man she was talking to."I...im hedding to the library. I dont want to be caught in this stampede of fluff." as she would start towards the library, shifting herself again as this time she reached a hand down to adjust them mumbleing to herself, "as soon as im alone, these shorts are comming off. Emmited female pheramones be damned."

Utter Chaos, so many choices! Fresh Milk, or save the mayor...milk, mayor, milky goodness, or the mayor! Some of them just lose the battle, instantly pouncing at the chance of fresh milk while a few that are actually a little smarter take the warning. Moving to cover their mayor, grabbing her and dragging her back to the safety of the Townhall. They would never allow such a vicious creature to take their mayor from them! For those searching for the Library it's not that hard to find, The various equipment outside its double doors hinting at the construction that was still going on within.

After the cat girl slips off his back, Dio rolls his shoulders and spins around a bit to pop his back. That one was a bit heavier than his typical mayoral cargo. Hearing Savi's shout, he immediately looks towards Cookies and could only guess the results, chuckling a bit to himself as she's swept away for cover within the town hall. She'd be fine, he thought. Hopefully this would give them the opportunity to calm things down a little. Or at the very least, provide a distraction as the books are gathered up for scanning.

"Friends, felines, stray cats, and meowers alike," he says, continuing his salesman aura. "Many things binds us all, but perhaps one of the most important..." The lion pauses for dramatic effect. "Milk. Yes my friends, wonderful, sweet, filling milk that drives your taste buds wild. Our lovely female feline friends can provide luck glorious drink, but what do we do when they lady isn't around," Dio questions, shrugging his shoulders and pretending to be defeated by the question. "No milk! But my friends, there's something that can solve all that! I can help secure a device for this wonderful town that allows cool cats like yourselves to store milk and make it taste even smoother to allow milk whenever you desire!"

"Just imagine! You could have a lovely bottle of fresh, purified milk whenever you get up from a catnap, after a long walk, or chasing after those awful mice! Please, my friends. Tell me I'm not alone in this dream!" Dio shouts, waiting for an answer.

Cookies growls out as she's dragged back, wrestling her way out of the grip of the other felines and doing her best to at least work her way to Dio. She had to hear this, and so lord help him if he wasn't about to advertise for Eureka's barns he was going to get a mouthful of FIST. For the time being though she simply does her best to listen in and fight against the tide of cats pulling her back. Tempted as she is to yell at them, she knows it won't do much good at this point. All her punishment would probably have to be dished out at a later date!

Becoming more and more confused, Acetyl decides that it's time to collect Iatro before he finds something else to devour and head for the library. Acetyl noticed others slipping off - it hesitated for a bit, but then followed them. Books, dammit! Acetyl had been a voracious, insatiable reader before P-Day, but nowadays, books were not always as common as Acetyl would like. So this was a choice assignment as far as the storm dragon was concerned. Scooping up Iatro, Acetyl pads off, following those heading to the library. Seems not only safest, but sanest at the moment.

Nichole strolled up the to the library quickly enough, the rest of the commotion fading on behind her as she gets closer with the rest of the group as well. "So decided to come check it out too hm? I hope it's worth it and there's something left inside." She says, pushing open the doors without so much as a hard hat. "So this is an old library that is being reconstructed? I wasn't terribly clear on the details since I was napping when it was announced."

Reaching the library Savi considers the logistics of removing a large number of booksand has a thought. "If this place is full, getting the books out of here wont work, too many books and the cats will think we are stealing them." Looking between the group gathered and the cats near Dio the idea solidifies. "We need to reopen the library. Check books out, run them to Zephyr and back a few at a time. Guard it like the skunks do until something official is worked out." As she pushes through the doros into the library proper Saviante finishes. "This is too important to let be defouled." entering the library she wonders if there are any engineering books here...

Fenris shakes his head. This mission has been a fail burrito with all the toppings and a heaping helping of fail sauce so far. And it's mostly his fault. But with the Mayor occupied and the majority of the town's cats taken care of, it's time to check out the library. He moves quickly to the double doors and looks around inside. Here's hoping that the Mayor doesn't have a long memory for grudges or maybe for faces and names. He'll take what he can get. In the meantime, he decides to see what he can find out about the library's supernatural collection.

Nytas walks into the library behind the group, distracted as her thoughts drift to mating, each time it seems longer and longer for her to snap out of it. She does momentarily when she bumps into one of the workers. Picking herself up she apologizes profusely and then continues. "so what exactly are we looking for?

They wanted books? Well there they were, sitting right there in plain view. The dusty tomes where just sitting there, stacked on a few long tables as workers trying and finish up the shelves. Yep every book a cat could want, books about the best ways to groom your cat, books full about the feline anatomy, even a few old fancy looking Feline books. No wonder the Cats were so happy to find these!

By this point, it's probable that most of the cats around him have forgotten the laser for the most part. Hopefully the group within the store have found what they needed and were on their way of getting out. Perhaps he could help them out a bit.

"Friends, you've never tasted such wonderful milk! But! We can't risk letting those awful wolves or what have you on our secret, can we? No sir! We won't have that. If you lovely felines would follow me to the common rooms, I shall tell you more about this milky goodness that you simply have to taste to beleive. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity! I never thought it was possible myself..."

With a gesture of his hand, he attempts to get the felines around him to follow as he walks towards the common room to preach more of the milk gospel.

Cookies looks at Dio, then at those making their way to the library. Oh how torn she was. But by the gods as terrible as losing the library to a bunch of Z-squares would be, a non-Eurekan milk source could be an even worse catastrophe for her, especially being that she's one of the cow girls! With high quality permits, too! For Dio's part, his plan seemed to be effective even on Cookies, albeit for different reasons than the rest.

Acetyl makes a bee-line straight for the books. But after a few moments of shuffling through them, Acetyl's look of pleased excitement shifts to one of puzzlement... then mild consternation. "What did they do, get rid of everything -not- related to cats? Where's the REST of them?"

Nichole wasn't terribly pleased at this turn of events from an employment stand point but then again she wasn't really hired to do this anyway and had tagged along because everyone else was doing stuff in the middle of the town. The cat girl just rolled her eyes at the sets of books lingering on in the middle of the room and she just shook her head from side to side. "I really don't think any of these books are worth the trouble and I'm not carrying them all the way back just so we can learn cat grooming tips. Let's just scan them here and upload them there. I've got a portable scanner anyway." She says, grabbing a book and flipping through it as her hand computer pulls everything out from each page she goes through.

Looking at the collection of surviving books Savi, rather quickly, understands this is not time or entropy. Natural selection is never so specific with the survivors. With a flash of pure rage Savi, quite unkindly, grabs the nearest worker and shakes them back and forth. Pointing to the books she near screams "What the hell did you do with the rest of them!?!" nearly unable to control her rush of fury she shakes them again harder as she decides this may get seriously violent after all. "What?" she continues, clarifying each word with a vicious shake. "Did? a double shake "You?" another severe jarring "DO?!" Being sure that there is only one way to end this without death, or at least a severe maiming, Saviante tosses the worker towards the center of the room without waiting for an answer and storms out the door, feeling the rest of the group can deal with the 'Books' as she was no longer willing to protect such things as these. Without a pause for anything she heads back to woodfield, glad this was an open request and not a true order. Disgusted more than anything from knowing her support of this town has helped destroyed countless measures of knowledge, possibly unrecoverably.

Fenris gapes. This can't be real. THIS is what he earned himself the lasting enmity of the cat mayor for? There must be something else here. Something worth saving. He heaves a sigh and starts rifling through the books to find any that Zephyr is likely to want. Taking out a scrap of paper and a pencil, he starts to document the tomes as quickly as he can. Who knows how long Deo's spiel will last. He should be able to find anything worth finding pretty quickly in all this silliness.

Nytas stares at the books for a bit in disbelief as she sighs and starts searching for any relevant books that Zephyre might want. Seeing as she can't find anything she sets the book down, figiting as she rubs her legs togather hopping no one sees her "problem" as she starts to gather books into her pack.

The crowd flocks to Dio, following him rather close as he preachers the milk Gospel. completely distracted and unknowing of the group that was still inside the library. The Feline in Savi's grasp is so scared they can't say anything, looking at her in fear as their hard hat is thrown across the room with the force of her jarring shakes, before he is tossed like a rag doll into one of the tables and scatters a few of the books. Fenris' search turns up almost nothing, a book on Feline anatomy, how to groom your cat for dummies, but then he does manage to find a hidden nugget within the pile of Silliness....one book that the cat seemed to have missed. At the bottom of the pile sat a medical almanac, dog eared and worn by age, but it was still intact.

Good! A lovely group of followers. This should give the group more than enough time to seal the deal. "Right this way, right this way," Dio chants, taking a seat in the common room. "And please, make yourself comfortable. Perhaps a little catnip to help relax?" The lion crosses his legs in the usual masculine style and clasps his hands together. "Now then, back on track. Pulling a few strings, I can have one of these wonderful milking devices delivered here, perhaps right in this common room. If this is something you're all interested in, please let me know. But I probably know the answer already! Who could refuse such an incredible device? Perhaps the wolves, am I right," he chuckles, getting back out of his seat with a stretch. "But we'll talk more in the morning. I think it's time for a cat nap."

Cookies is not entirely sure how she should be taking this. It's not exactly for Eureka, but it certainly seems to be in the best interests of the town! Oh well. The kittygirl opts to saunter up to her lion once all's said and done and climb up onto his back, murmuring at him, "Take me home. You people are a serious task," she groans, referring to the agents rather than the felines at large! The latter certainly seemed more managable before the former showed up, anyway.

Acetyl just shakes his head and sighs. The storm dragon understands why the other agent reacted the way she did, but it can't help hoping that the other books are here somewhere. And besides, it's not like books about cats are worthless. It's just... well, there has to be more here than this! It watches Fenris poking around. After a while, the other seems to come up with something that isn't feline-related. A sign of hope! Thus cheered, Acetyl bends itself to the search as well. It'll take the cat books back, sure - but first, the search for OTHER books. The idea is stuck in Ace's head like a burr - there just has to be more here somewhere! But where...?

Nichole halted her scanning, remembing the annoying greeting the mayor had given earlier and shook her head a bit. It really was a bit mean now that she thought about it more and a new idea came about. She started stuff all the books into her pack one after annother, if nothing else fewer books left would make the others easier to look through. The big bonus of getting to steal something from the place and ensure fewer stuff for the rude one was the best part about it all anyway. She'd just fly away after getting everything was gathered up and drop things of in Zephyr if there was nothing worth saving for her own collection.

Fenris sighs. Not a total loss then. There were a few tomes of medical and veterinary medicine and one or two rare tomes about the returned cat goddess Bast. That should make the folks at Zephyr happy. There were also a couple of lucky finds. Three copies of The Cat in the Hat means that two can stay here and the vintage Alice in Wonderland (with the Cheshire cat on the cover) might help smooth things over with the mayor. Fenris looks around the library to see if any of his fellows are looking, then he lovingly slips a Calvin and Hobbes treasury into the inner pocket of his duster. Who would have thought that a title like Homicidal Psycho Jungle Cat would save this gem? Zephyr probably won't miss it. He slings his pack over his shoulder, definitely a fail burrito. But the dessert turned out alright.

Nytas finished putting books into her pack. She couldent wait to get out of here to get out of those damn shorts. "i...i have a few books. not sure of relevince but their here. " as she points to her pack. "im going to start back." as she heads out of the library twords the gates of this one cat town.

With the Felines distracted it's a walk in the park for the group to get away with the books, they were all taking a nap in the common room. Considering it was way past their bed time, cat's have strick bed times you know, if they don't get enough sleep they are cranky and can't enjoy laying in the sun all day. When they finally get back the Zeyphr they recieve a warm greeting, the books taken away to be scanned and their payment shelled out as usual.
