You trudge to the beach. It's actually quite a nice day, and if you didn't expect to spend it hauling gear it'd look pretty inviting -- a nice calm sea, the chill of the water a delicious contrast to the warmth of the sun and the sand.

As you arrive, your comm unit blips to let each of you know the other is here, with the same goal.

The cloaked figure seems to just hover, looking around at the surroundings "Well, isn't this quaint. A nice little seaside job." Harbringer looks to the others in the area before lowering herself for a moment "There we go."

Aliasi approaches the spot, dwindling down to something a little less shockingly huge. "Such a rut," the giantess rumbles to herself, although she's quite audible to anyone nearby. "Gather a bunch of stuff, of course you ask the big, strong one. Dunno why I even take jobs from Zeph any more..."

Harbringer looks up at the giant "Well, you seem large and capable of carrying large stuffs so...Care to do that and i'll keep guard?" the figure scratches the bottom of her mask, a bit confused herself.

Aliasi shrugs. "It's what they call me for, and every bit Zephyr pays me is a bit less I have to take out of random ferals, yeah? What d'you think they're looking for, anyway?"

Harbringer thinks over the possibilities for a moment "Well, could be intel or some old tech they want to mess with." the masked figure lowers it's hood, revealing a flaming skull "Well, best get started then. Those ferals tend not to wait to get their fluid soaked hands on interesting junk." giving a nod.

Aliasi huhs. "Interesting look. Not that I can talk. I don't think I've seen my feet for years, now." She has some difficulty in bending down, between her incredibly bulky build and unlikely endowments, but she manages to scoop up some of the flotsam and stuff it into her mesh tactical belt.

Harbringer nods "i'v seen them. They're actually quite large. Kinda scary too." she looks up at the giant figure "How do you find clothes like that anyways? Is there a godzilla clothes store?"

Aliasi laughs, "Nah. You note I ain't wearing anything BUT this belt, an' that I had specially made as a favor. Not that hard, this kind of mesh gets used... got used... for cargo ships all the time. Not that I mind. If you got it, flaunt it, right?"

The upper part of the beach, with its dry, fluffy sand, has only the usual collection of stones, worn bits of garbage left over from before P-day, and the less savoury leavings of the ferals. Closer to the water's edge you can see some bits and pieces that look out of place: some sodden wood, a few plastic drums, what looks like a life preserver, the odd plastic packet of food...

Harbringer continues to stare at the giant figure "So, you're just letting it hang out and that thing is....." staring at the drooping cock and balls "Well, now i'v seen giants. Another thing to add to the strange crap i'v seen." She turns her head over to the shore "oh hey, junk!" standing back to her feet, the wraith begins floating across the sand, leaving behind human footprints.

Aliasi grumbles in reply, "Not like I got a lot of choice. Like you said, ain't no 'REALLY big and REALLY tall' stores, and this is the smallest I get these days. The Earth likes its defenders to be big, yeah?"

From the corner of your eye, you notice that a couple of crab-like creatures are watching, keeping a wary distance. They seem interested both in you and in the flotsam.

Harbringer nods "Well, how hard do you think multi-form clothing is?" with a chuckle "besides, you got a beautiful body anyways. Can't quite appreciate a flying skull." The ghost picks up a packet of sorts, staring over it "Get ready...."

Aliasi grins, "Well, at least you know how to give a complement. Huh. Moment..." Being so much larger, she has a pretty good look at the crabs. "HEY YOU! SHOO!"

The crabs scuttle back ten or twenty yards, behind a dune. A few moments later, you see one of them start to creep back out.

Harbringer loads a bolt into her crossbow "fuck...stupid crustaceans." she stares at the crab and shouts out "FUCK YOU DOUCHE!" raising the loaded crossbow at it.

The crab half-turns and takes another step or two back, then pauses. You can almost feel the gears turning in its head as it tries to work out what Harbringer is doing with that black, pointy thing.

Aliasi says, "Hm. Wonder how intelligent they are. Never did eat crab, but I try not to eat things that talk. It's just rude, y'know?" She raises her voice. "HEY, YOU GUYS TALK? JUST WONDERING!"

The crab scoots back another few paces, making an odd clicking sound. Its oversized pincers snap closed a couple of times.

Harbringer grins "Well, if that thing gets closer, i'd like to make use of some butter sauce." she chuckles to herself "Also, we would need a pot."

Aliasi seems confused. "We would? I don't usually bother with cooking, these days, unless an old building happens to be on fire."

Harbringer scratches her head "guess you're right. Got any fun ways of dealing with these things?"

Aliasi shrugs. "USUALLY, I just step on them and pick up whatever splatters from it, or pick them up and crunch 'em down whole, or... well, look, some things are pretty tough, these days, but I'm kind of a big deal. Pun intended."

Harbringer nods "I could just knock em out or gas em with a bio bomb or some crap."

A little ways back behind the two crabs, you think you spot movement. Another one?

Aliasi laughs, "Now what's the fun in THAT, huh? Look..." She unfastens the belt, dropping it on the ground. Loaded with salvage, it's not like many will be budging it anyway. She begins walking towards the crabs. Even 'small', she has enough weight that the sand does make it impressively slow.

Harbringer stares wide eyed "They're multiplying!" The figure slides on their hood and the cloak seems to fade along with them, leaving only a slight impression. She steps closer to the crabs as well, leaving footprints behind her.

The crabs seem confused, as though this isn't how you're supposed to act. One of them edges towards Aliasi, pincers up, while the other moves back around.

Harbringer picks up one of the crabs and chuckles, rubbing it "Such a nice little crab. I'm going to call you herby and take you on adventures with me."

Aliasi's slower pace (even considering her much larger stride) means the crabs do have a moment to try to get away, but only a moment. When the giantess is on them, they're going to be *cracked* crab as several tons of mutant body lands on them via a foot.

( Harbringer grabs the nearer of the two creatures. It's smaller than she is, though not by much. It's surprisingly light, though -- all the weight seems to be in the shell. It snaps its pincers angrily at her. Those things look like they could make a nasty wound. )

Harbringer quickly drops the crab "You fucker!" with a grin, she inhales some air, lifts up her mask and vomits flames onto the poor critter, setting it ablaze "Burn bitch!" the ghost laughs devilishly.

The first crab squeals pitifully as it burns. The noise is... unnerving, as is the smell, somewhere between seafood and meat. The second finally seems to realise the peril it's in, and scuttles rapidly for the relative safety of the ocean.

From her considerable height, Aliasi can see further down the beach. The movement you saw before looks like another crab, worrying at something.

Aliasi runs after the third crab. While she's not invulnerable, Aliasi is quite tough and regenerates rapidly, so unless any of these crabs have anti-tank weaponry hidden away, they aren't likely to be a threat.

Harbringer grins, still laughing at the crab "Oh my gosh, so worth coming here." Man, she's messed. The girl reaches into her pocket and pulls out a small packet of sorts and carefully spreads some of it's contents on the burning crab.

( Aliasi pounds towards the third crab. At first it's hard to see what's going on, but as she approaches she sees that it's picking not at another piece of flotsam but at a still figure. It's hard to make out without getting closer, but he looks human. )

Harbringer stares at the giant doing her work "Holy pretzal, god of eating. You're amazing!" she cheers happily, ignoring the crab.

Well, that makes the decision easy. Ali grabs at the crab and squeezes the shell, her enormous strength probably quite the match even for it. She's going to crack it open, and have lunch. Raw, even.

The crab flails desperately, but is no match. It goes crunch then is still.

Aliasi munches, then thinks to look at the body, poking it with a toe.

Harbringer goes back to cheering on her fiery crab "GO HERBY GO!" she chuckles, rolling around in the sand.

The form flops over when Aliasi nudges it, either lifeless or deeply unconscious. You can't really make out details from up there, but it's clearly a human male, wearing what was at some point a sailor's uniform but is now dirty and frayed. A life preserver is around his waist.

Harbringer pulls out a blade and hacks a leg from the crab and begins cutting it's shell off. She pops the delicious crab meat into her mouth "Moments like these make me want to live longer." smiling happily.

The crab as an unusual taste, a bit gamier than you expected. Also, whatever you seasoned it with.

Aliasi calls out, "Might wanna look at this. I think this is a guy from whatever crashed, but m'hands are a bit too large to try and frisk 'im for anything like ID..."

Harbringer nods "I knew that for a while. Ferals are people." going back to munching on the leg "mmmph, crab!"

Aliasi frowns, "Not the crab, dammit, this guy. He's human!"

<smell> Harbringer sniffs at the room. <smell> Aliasi sniffs at the room. The area smells of roast crab person. Mmm...

Harbringer drools, going back to chewing on the crab, too distracted to listen carefully.

Aliasi growls. "Fine, never mind, I'll do it m'self." She crouches and tries to frisk the body.

Harbringer finishes up on the leg with a burp "Oh my gosh, that's amazing."

It's a bit fiddly, but Aliasi hunkers down and starts poking at the man. He's in a military uniform but the colours and cut don't look quite right. His clothes are filthy from the sea and you don't find anything in his pockets beyond a sodden lump of paper.

Wait -- did he move? You're not quite sure, but you think he might still be breathing.

Harbringer crams the rest of the body into her bag for later. She walks over to the body and stares at it "Is he alive?" the creature scratches it's head.

Aliasi huhs. "Think this one might be alive, but I ain't exactly able to give CPR. On the other hand, you're a flaming skull for a head... well, I suppose I could try milk..."

From closer up, Harbringer can see that the body is indeed breathing, very shallowly. The man looks sick, very sick -- obviously dehydrated and burned by the sun, but somehow worse still. His skin has red and pale splotches, and his hair is straggly and uneven. He has a few days' growth of beard.

Harbringer sighs "well, he's alive. I got nothing to do to help." walking over and sitting down in the sand, cheeks getting covered in sand.

Aliasi shrugs, picking the man up as carefully as can be managed. For all her destructive tendencies, it'd be nice to do something HELPFUL, for a change. Pressing the man's head to a nipple as big as it, she does just that. The tissue swelling with unnatural production, the unoccupied breast drips liquid into the sand while the man has some forced down his throat. Of course, it's no ordinary milk - like so many mutants now, it has regenerative properties. He might choke on it, but it ought to have him feeling better if he swallows it down.

Harbringer blushes "Does that stuff taste good?" she asks the giant "And it probably has special properties anywho."

Aliasi chuckles, "Well, *I* like the taste of it, at least... better than what comes outta my cock, anyway."

Harbringer tilts her head "Does that stuff taste bad? I mean, i'v tried zombie stuff and that crap was terrible. Also horse and squirrel...." coughing akwardly "Can't be that bad."

At first the milk just sits in the man's mouth, and you start to wonder if he might drown -- that would be a bit of an anticlimax. You run a large finger along his throat and, after a long moment, he swallows by reflex, chokes, then swallows again.

He's not sucklng, but you manage to get what you hope is one full FDA serving into him.

Aliasi sets him back down on the sand after some of the milk comes down. To Harbringer, she replies, "I'm sure you've seen a few puddles of the stuff around. You might guess I'm hardly ever *not* horny. Took a bit just to get calmed down enough to come along for this, you know?"

The man looks a little better, though his skin is still blotchy. One hand twitches.

Harbringer shrugs "Not really. I could probably help you with the arousal thing with some devices or something." she walks over to the human figure and squats over him "If he flatlines, i could probably bring him back anywho." slowly, she sets her almost weightless form down onto his lap "Well, best we can do is hope for the best."

The man makes a guttural moaning noise. One eyelid flickers for a moment.

Aliasi peers. "I think he's doing better? Maybe? I mean, it works for ME, so..."

<Adept> Harbringer becomes a Female Commando!

Harbringer listens to the man's heartbeat "Yeah, he's alive. Good job, miss...." she stares at the giant "Did i ever get your name?" the girl scratches her head.

The man's eyes fly open and he stares around him in confusion. His gaze settles on Harbringer, squatting over him, and his eyes widen in fear. "Whuh... whuh.. whut... huh..."

Aliasi booms, "Aliasi."

Harbringer smiles at the man "welcome back to the land of the living, bub." She chuckles, patting the man on the head "What happened to you?"

Aliasi is probably enough of a shock, yes.

The man seems to calm for a moment at the sound of Harbringer's voice. Then his eyes flick up to Aliasi and go wide over the course of a few seconds, his jaw moving soundlessly.

Harbringer coughs "well, shit. Ignore the giant friend of mine. Her name's Aliasi though." the girl gives a warm smile to the man "Calm down. You're safe now and all is okay."

The man looks back at Harbringer, and his expression softens. It's as if Aliasi has just vanished from his world. "Safe... okay..."

He frowns a bit, as though there's something bothering him that he can't quite recall.

Aliasi asks, "Where the hell are you from, anyway?"

Harbringer extends her arms warmly, waiting for the man to respond "It's okay, tell me what happened. What can you remember?"

He looks around a bit, as though realising where he is for the first time. One hand dips into the sand, running it through his fingers. "HMS Spiteful," he says, in a crackly, far-away tone. "Where is everyone? What happened?" He winces. "It hurts, all over. So dry..."

Harbringer shrugs "Probably they all got in......" thinking clearly for a moment "Well, you're the only one left i think. Need some water or something?"

His head snaps towards Harbringer's. "Water, yes, God yes."

Harbringer looks around for a moment, noticing a lack of clear water to drink "Will dirty water do? or do you want something else?"

Aliasi hms. "S'all salt water around here. I could fetch some fresh, maybe, or there's more milk."

He starts shaking when Harbringer mentions dirty water. "Dirty? Not safe! Contaminated. Can't... iodine pills... don't drink it..."

He clutches at her cape, his grip surprisingly strong. "Don't drink it! You'll die!"

Aliasi chuckles. "New to the Fairhaven area, I take it, eh?"

Harbringer chuckles "How about some milk instead?" blushing a deep red "And calm down. I won't drink the water."

He relaxes abruptly, though his hands continue to clutch at the cloak. He seems mildly confused by that for a moment. "Fairhaven, eh? Never heard of it. Milk sounds nice. Water would be better. Saltwater, mmm..." He smacks his lips.

Harbringer nods, raising her cloak to reveal a breast "well, feel free to try this." she scratches her head "Why mmm? Salt water kills people who're thirsty...."

Aliasi nods. "Yeah. We got a few weird types here. Promethean Day, you never heard of that? Not that we get much news from outside the bubble, these days. But believe me, a giant silver person is probably the least strange thing you'll see today if you hang around."

The man nods. "So thirsty, so dry..." He pulls himself up awkwardly, apparently unable to release his grip on the cloak, and suckles greedily for a while.

Harbringer strokes the man's head gently "There you go." she sighs, finally able to help a bit more "Drink up, you'll need the strength." she chuckles, looking up at Aliasi "Let me guess, Kaiju island?"

After a little while, he lets go and swallows. "Bubble? Promethean?" His voice still sounds odd, harsh. "This is... we're in America? With the nanites?" He starts staring around, as though expecting to see them lurking behind a rock.

Aliasi nods, "Yeah, how'd you figure that one out, eh? And yes, you are. Actually, you're technically in a real strong bubble - I'm something of a living bubble m'self. Unlike some of us, I actually could walk in the world if I wanted to."

Harbringer nods "And i can't seem to go down easy, due to my parts regenerating from being a conduit." The girl nods slowly "Yeah, stumbled upon kaiju island and got raped by terrible things. Not quite as bad as the pretzal, but real close."

Aliasi grins. "See, I'm usually the one DOING the raping there..."

The man looks pretty confused by the conversation -- it's clearly going over his head. His skin looks pretty bad, an angry red.

Harbringer looks at the man "oh shit, you need shade!" She starts looking around, looking up at the giant "care to crawl over us and keep us in the shade?" scratching her head.

Aliasi hmms. "I dunno, do you think I'll give enough shade as-is?"

The man's hands tug on Harbringer's cloak as she looks around, then come free with a snapping sound. They look swollen and he's holding them in an odd way, four fingers together and the thumb apart. He stares at them.

Harbringer stares at the man "Sweet pretzal have munchies." she stares up at the giant "Uh, girlie, we have a problem!"

Aliasi nods. "That hand, don't it look like it's kinda turning into a pincher? Must be hitting him quick. But... if we get him to Zeph or the Promethians quick, they can make sure he keeps his brain. Only one way I know to get anywhere quick..." The giant begins to swell to a far more enormous scale; she's not an inhabitant of Kaiju Island for nothing!

Aliasi swells to a simply enormous size, towering over all.

Harbringer looks up and whimpers, the size of the girl seeming too big for her comfort. The figure seems to blot out the sun "S-sure. Try to do this before he turns. If i go into prison again, i WILL probably hang myself."

"What... I can't move my hands! What's going on?"

Harbringer nods "You got the virus. You're turning crab on us. Try to stay calm and i will help you through this."

Aliasi picks up the man, carefully carrying him in her hand - and nabbing her belt as she does so. (She has a larger one that can carry people, but she didn't bring it, naturally.) "Yeah, and if we hurry we can make sure it doesn't scramble your mind in the process. Don't fret, if you don't like being a crab we'll just find you some OTHER infection to shove down your throat."

"Turning crab? What does that..." His voice breaks into a strange chitter for a moment. "Radiation doesn't do this!"

Aliasi booms, "Ain't radiation."

Harbringer spreads her wings from under her cloak and begins floating up to the girl's eyes "Well, it's the promethean virus."

The man rests lightly in Aliasi's hand. He starts shaking, but she cups her palm and keeps him from slipping out.

( Aliasi's huge strides carry you swiftly across the city. The man has stopped shaking and gone more or less still while his body changes. His uniform bulges out around his torso, and goes slack around his legs. )

"This is a virus?" he croaks. "Strange kinda virus... but not radiation. So maybe I imagined it all?""

Harbringer floats around beside the two "yeah, the virus takes over you and gives you a special set of skills. I can shift between mine at any time." panting heavily "darn wings!"

Aliasi shakes her head. "I imagine there's radioactive stuff about, but this virus is... well, some fancy ass nanotech." She laughs - the giantess also has a pair of wings when desired, but for several reasons she's declining to use them.

Harbringer looks at the giant, continuing to keep up "Mind if i hitch a ride as well?" she smiles happily.

Aliasi rumbles, "I got a spare shoulder."

Harbringer rests on the giant's shoulder "thanks, Aliasi."

You arrive at Zephyr HQ a minute or two later.

Aliasi sets the man down and hollers for help. When someone a hundred feet tall hollers, EVERYONE hears - Ali is more than happy to explain the situation or let Harb do it, but Zephyr will likely treat the man with no worse than indenturing him for awhile. They are something of the evil megacorp hereabouts, after all.

Harbringer clears her throat "We got a problem. Person is changing! need assistance now!"

A handful of doctors and nurses swarm around the man, some of them rubbing at their ears. A bed is quickly rolled over, and a doctor settles him down on it, hooking up a drip. (Saline? Nanites? Who knows, these days.)

He's still trembling, but seems to calm down when he hears Harb's voice. He cranes his neck to see her, then looks queasy. Abruptly, his eyes pop out of his head, dangling on foot-long stalks that wriggle.

"Perfectly normal reaction, nothing to worry about," announces a nurse. "Let's just get you sedated and innoculated..."

Harbringer smiles "good luck, random person." she chuckles.

The medical team whisks him away. The last you see of him is an eyeball peering towards the two of you as his bed turns a corner and vanishes into the bowels of Zephyr's labs.
