As those who answered the call arrive, the scene is definitely one of busy preperation. The crews have managed to find a fuel buffalo from somewhere that still had fuel in it, as they were busy making sure the helicopters were topped off. A woman, her jumpsuit naming her 'McGregor', who looked to be operating under the RSX banner, looked up, and watched the arrivals. "So, you're the ones that responded? Well, welcome to confusion central." She grumbles, shaking her head. "Captain McGregor, RSX Air Fleet. Go ahead and settle in a bit, trying to get all the pilots to agree on how we're gonna fly south."

Skade fires off a sloppy salute to the woman and grins faintly "Ah, the usual circus. How lovely. This'll be fun." she says cockily. The redhead is dressed, unlike most time, in quite a bit of armour, looking like someone well.. in the military would look like supposedly. Pockets and tools all over the place. Slung over her shoulder is her usual futuristic looking gauss rifle along with a handgun at her side. She's wearing a com unit in her left ear that seems coupled with some strange device that rests over her right eyebrow.

Nim hops on her hoofs as she observes the area. The small doe was dressed in a tight one piece black suit made of small latex and leather parts. The short weapons master checked her gear quickly, tapping her small collapsed staff that rested on her hip. Before settling down, NIm ensured to wrap her two bat-like wings around her mid-section underneath her small breasts. "Should be good to go. How long do you think it'll take until lift off?" She asked mostly at McGregor but continued to glance around at the others ariving n scene. She stared for a second at the others, memorizing each in turn.

Well, in contrast to most of the others who have shown up so far, the large gleaming dragon is vastly different than the others. Not bristling with equipment, and merely garbed in a lab coat tied about the waist as a sash, and a pair of simple hakama with a hole cut for his tail, Loki is already highly distracted by the various pieces of machinery and bustle going about. Occasionally theres a bit of a shift in his stance, or a little squirm, but for the most part he seems quiet and contemplative - whilst also remaining within earshot of McGregor.

Edel arrives on scene, in her silky black ballgown and strawhat, as usual, though the additions of a breastplate and armoured capris were prepared for this occasion. She's still got her everpresent duffle and weaponry, though. "I've been looking forward to this, oh yes! And I'm not stepping on a landmine this time, oh no!" She tugs her hovering drone along with her, using it as a step to get herself into the helicopter before switching it off and pulling it in with her.

Aliasi swoops down from the sky, inky black wings vanishing as she lands. She's chosen to mimic human today, perhaps to be more reassuring to any survivors they might find on the trip, and in contrast to the military gear of the others, she appears to be carrying practically nothing, and the bodysuit she wears certainly couldn't hide much. "See, I was good, but you might want to give me a less-loaded chopper, I'm still a pretty heavy gal. This IS the right place for the expedition, yeah?"

Looking over those present, McGregor shrugs. "Mind my asking to know what each of ya can do? I mean, we've a few folks to cover each of the needed goals, but it helps to know where abouts to stuff each of ya." She asks. The woman was a bang on example of a valkyrie, even to the long braided blonde hair down her back. Then again, teh fact that she was in a pilot's jumpsuit was amusing to contrast the image.

From the table, a roar could be hear, though the lack of intimidation on teh other pilot's parts suggest the roar was something else than a frightening thing. However, those paying attention notice that the roar was more of some feline morph projecting their voice towards McGregor. "Yeah yeah, don't get your tail in a twist Franklin! We'll get this clusterfuck sorted out once I've handled the Agents!"

Skade flashes Loki a quick smile as she idly polishes her RSX Op pin on her chest before turning her gaze to Nim, pursing her lips in thought "Hey, havn't I seen you around the dojo?" she asks curiously as she looks back towards McGregor "Operative Skade here. Used to be an engineer with the military. Good at shooting things dead and can wield duct tape like no one else." she says proudly.

Nim hops onto her hoofs with a smile, bouncing slightly on them as she listens. "Well, I'm ummm Nim. I can do long range recon and stealthier movements...oh and I'm decent at short range combat." She looked off distantly for a second, considering how to present herself, "I mean...well... " SHe looked over at Loki, "Oh! I suppose so. I just finished my training. It was rather extensive...nice to see you again." She grinned playfully

"I'm primarily a scientist, with my focus on nanites being a good assumption. I also specialise in computers and programming on both sides of P-Day. I have also dabbled in robotics and a mayrid of other mechanical jobs, and thus I am able to assist in a myriad of other fields." he smiles. A brief pause, and then he adds a little ammenum - "Though I dislike violence, I am a capable combatant, primarily through the martial arts. I tend to eschew weapons in favour of the body." he says, and then glances over to Skade when she polishes the pin. A blink. A sniff. A flash of a silvery tongue as he tastes the air. A grin follows. "I didn't reconize you there, Skade." he says. "You look quite different in that military getup." he says as his tail swishes behind him. A tilt of the head, and a glance over to Nim before he settles on Skade. "Dojo?"

Edel tips her hat and flashes a smile. "I'm Edel! Weapons and tech specialist, and adept at close combat. I do a little bit of everything, and a lot of other things. Except medic. I'm an awful medic."

Aliasi shifts her look from Edel to the circle generally. "Aliasi. Experienced nanomagician, specializing in earth, emotional aura, and regulation. Also, yeah, I'm kind of really strong and get really big.

McGregor sighes, looking over them. "Well, just be glad we've got some solid intel saying that there's a bubble down there. Otherwise, we'd have to turn you away Miss Aliasi. Pure fighter types, head to the Blackhawk. Everyone else? Pick a Chinook. I'll be back shortly." She directs, walking over to the table, and slapping a humanoid cougar upside the head when she arrived. The lot of them seemed to be basically at the end of the discussion as it were, so they weren't there long before they'd begun packing away the material.

Skade strokes her chin for a moment before deciding to head over to one of the Chinooks "Guess I'll be with the engineering team. Loki would be lost without me I'm sure." she says teasingly before ducking her head and climbing inside.

Nim headed towards the blackhawks, her tail swishing in anticipatio. She murred, looking around hoping that she wouldn't have to attempt her limited nano-magic. The scout smiled to herself and climbed into the attack helicopter. Her fingers continued to tap her staff as her wings shuffled uneasily while she waited in the seat.

Loki nods at the explination and then looks over to Skade and crosses his arms. "Hey now, I'm not THAT hopless!" he huffs, following after the animal-tailed girl. "You know, I forgot to mention that Im a living generator. I could supply electricity if the need called for it." he murmurs.

Edel scratches her neck and looks a little awkward. She'd already been in a helicopter, but at least it was the right one! "I'm assuming I'll be doing things other than just fighting, so I'll just stay here, I think! Hopefully this operation will get smoothly!"

Aliasi, hearing the talk about a bubble, quietly does... something. Within the fairhaven bubble, it just makes nanites act a bit more efficent as her NICE unit helps with local processing. "Maybe you didn't hear the bit about being a nanomagician, eh? I carry my own bubble. Larger than most people's, too. We'll be fine!"

McGregor walks over to the Blackhawk, nodding to those in it. "Zephyr Control, Zephyr Control, this is Vulture 1. San Diego Expedition Team is requesting clearance to lift off." She says, pulling on a headset. The cougar settles into the co-pilot seat, and nods to the pilot. "Roger that Control. Here's hoping we'll be back with some good loot." She says, turning on the props. As all 4 helicopter's rotor's begin spinning up, a Zephyr centaur stands towards the front, a pair of large guide lights in hand, and points one towards the blackhawk before pointing it back up. Spreading his arms, he then makes a lifting motion almost like a half-flap from shoulder to above his head. At which point, now that the props were are speed, the helicopters begin lifting off.

"This is your Co-Pilot speaking, please make sure your headset is put to general comms for the duration of this flight. There is no in flight movie, nor are their trays or served meals on this flight. Thank you for flying RSX Air, where military-issue is OUR issue!" The Cougar says, smirking as the 4 birds turn to the south, and begin the trip to San Diego.

Skade sniggers and flicks her coms to the general channel "Are we expecting any opposition in particular I wonder? I mean.. ferals or survivors? I didn't even think to bring a non-lethal weapon." she says, her voice almost drowned out by the roaring sound of the choppers.

Nim grins happily, kicking her feet as she rests in the helicopter sling, ignoring most the chatter on the coms. The doe seemed content to fly, her wings restlessly fidgeting in their constaints. She hummed happily, eager to help establish herself outside of the farm

Loki shuffles in place, and then looks around the plane. A small yawn, and a frown towards Skade. "You really should anticipate such things. How's your grappling?" he asks her with a tilt of his head. Another fidget. A bit of a shuffle. The closing of his eyes and the silent musings. He seems a little uneasy.

Edel fiddles with her comm for a moment and tucks the earpiece around her ear. "Nonlethal for me is pulling my swings a little." She flips a switch on the scabbard of her sword so that it can charge during the trip. "Whatever is out there, I'm sure it'll be fiiiiine." Leaning back, she tips her hat down over her eyes, letting them rest, even if she doesn't actually get to sleep.

Aliasi settles in the chopper that otherwise is carrying the least, and settles into a meditative position, keeping her mind on the regulation bubble. Might as well make the trip to San Diego as easy as possible, after all.

"This is Bruce Yankeer. Scouts report some activity around the location. Feral or Survivor, we're unable to determine at this time. But they've also found a fair number of sets of supplies we can get still in storage there. Including vehicles. But, be prepared to defend yourselves. We've a long trip ahead of us on helicopter. Best rest up while you can." Cames a new voice over the radio. "Vulture 1 to all Agents. Flight time to destination is around 4 hours. We don't even have reports on the kind of infections active in San Diego, so be warned we might face things we ain't encountered before."

Skade covers a yawn with the back of her hand, the white noise making her a bit sluggish "I guess I can always aim for the knees." she says as she tips down her baret and leans her head back, catching some sleep while she can.

Loki stretches a bit in place and settles more. A sigh, and a cross of his arms. "That's not much better." he grumbles.

Edel, despite her doubts does manage to fall asleep. Curling up a little, with her tail over her head in a subconscious effort to muffle the noises of the helicopter.

Aliasi, for lack of anything else to do during the trip, uses her Dream Nanomagic to peek in on bits of her 'inner world' and see how things are coming along. To anyone watching, of course, it's just as if she's napping in her seat.

The flight itself didn't have any sudden or shocking changes, though the was a constantly clicking working it's way through all the comm units. "Wakey wakey! We're about half an hour from the landing zone. If you look, you can see the base ahead of us." McGregor says, soundly like she was rousing hereslf slightly. "Alright Franklin, how's systems looking?" She asks, not even glancing at her Co.

"All good John. Got clear skies, a loaded bird, and hell, we're flying in this baby again. And to top it all off, we've-" He's saying, looking at McGregor, before a sharp buzzing sounded in the cockpit and through the Blackhawk. "Target lock! We've been painted by something!" He barks, his hands and feet now moving and working as a second pair to the pilot's. "The HELL?!" McGregor barks. "POP CHAFF! WHERE THE HELL DID THAT COME FROM!?" She orders, jerking the helicopter into a bank as a missile closes on them. It obviously wasn't working as well as it should have, if the wabbling in it's flight path was any sign, but it was still accurate enough to be cause for alarm.

Skade snaps awake just in time to see the missile fly past "Well, fuck me! That's not good! Get us to the ground! NOW!" she shouts as she starts looking around, still secured in her straps she can't really move all that far. "There has to be a parachute around here somewhere.." she mumbles under her breath.

Nim squeeks, her collar's bells chiming loudly as the helicopter banks. The small doe rolls to the side, the harness holding her tauntly as she kicks. "What?!" She screamed over the whirling blades as she wrestled with the taunt seatbelts.

Well, that interrupts quiet musings on Loki's part. A small growl escapes him as the plane banks, and he immediately begins looking around the place. Skade allright? Check. Nobody dead or dying? Check. A growl. A rise to his feet. A stretch of the wings. A stand to attention as he braces himself to be ready for potential bailing out of the plane. "I could carry you if you wish, Skade."

Edel bolts awake, fixing her hat. "Guh, what? Again? Why are flying things always being attacked? Baaah." She has no rockets to return fire with, so for now she just secures the strap of her larger sword and braces for what she feels will be an inevitable impact.

Aliasi wakes with a start, and after taking a moment to see the attacks, she decides the best thing, since they're at the destination, more or less, is to provide some 'chaff' of her own. She squirms out of the helicopter, using her wings to dodge and descend to the ground. she further compacts her form to make herself even less of a target, a move that might well confuse those used to Aliasi being as big as possible!

The missile streaks completely past, not deviating from the headlong approach it'd taken towards the 4 helicopters. "That was a god damned SAM!" McGregor growls, looking over her panels. "Who the hell has a god damned SAM operational!?" She demands, looking ahead. The blaring alarm was still going, but there was zero sign of additional missiles coming.

"Vulture Leader to all callsigns! Land the bird's now! I don't want ot risk us having a missile that isn't as messed up as that one was!" Comes Yankeer's voice, which is quickly followed by the helicopters dripping down and flying close to the ground, barely above the height of any suriviving powerlines, before finding a clearing. Once all the helicopter's have landed, the pilots and co-pilots jump out and look over their helicopter's making sure nothing was damaged.

Skade quickly undoes the straps holding her to her seat and jumps out the helicopter. Shouldering her rifle, she uses the scope to look around, trying to determine where the hell the missile came from or if there happen to be any incoming hostiles as well "Well, guess someone doesn't want us to pick through their junk. Look alive people!" she says over the comms.

Nim squeels in delight as she frees herself, the doe launching to her feet, just in time for the helicopter to lurch to the side once more. Nim squeeks, her bells clanking loudly as she slides to the back of the copter, kicking wildly. "No!!! I was going to save the day!"

Loki sighs at all the commotion. He remains relatively complacent at the moment, especially considerinf the lack of additional missiles heading towards the chopper. Still, he does remain by the doorway... just in case.

As soon as the choppers touch the ground, Edel leaps from the vehicle, one hand pressed to her hat to keep it on while the other unslings the massive sword from her back, if nothing else just to help balance her weight. It could even be used as a shield, if it comes to it. "Where are we at? Did we land on-site? Near it? Nowhere near it?"

Without additional attacks seeming to come, Ali instead works to land somewhere near the landing zone; once she's on the ground, she'll probably resume human size, or grow larger to be easier to find.

"We're about 25 minutes away from the edge of Camp Pandleton by flying." Says a man walking out of one of hte Chinooks, his voice similar to Yanker's from the radio. "The issue is now, we have no idea who could be operating the SAMs... or that the Marine base even had any." He says, sighing as he crossed his arms. "While I'd love to have everyone walk to the base at this point... we need more information. Do you Agents think you could work as a scouting party for us?"

Finding no trace of enemies, Skade shoulders her weapon again. "Scouting, huh? I suppose we could. Seems like someone is eager to get on her way atleast." the redhead says, winking at Nim. She rolls her shoulders and looks in the direction they'll be heading. "Alrighty then. Maybe the smaller of us first. No offense Loki, but you're not exactly what I'd call discrete.."

Nim chimes happily, her eyes giving off a faint green glow as she perks up. "Scouting? I adore scouting!" She giggles eagerly, the doe hopping up from her spot in the helicopter. "Don't worry, I'll discern these vile and veracious villians!" With her proud proclimation, the small weapons master pulls up her hod, her face concealed completed by a mask while she opens her wings, the metallic frames sprining as she flaps away. "To the mystery!" She chimes eagerly, the scout's bells chiming loudly as she advances

Loki slides out of the chopper with the others. There's a bit of a frown, and a crossing of his arms. "Is it because I'm gold, or because I'm taller?" he asks Skade as he rolls his shoulders. "I could turn the scales a different color if preffered." he murmurs. A blink. A facepalm. "I don't suppose we could tell her to lose the bells?" Another pause. "You know, I could always just march right on up and offer to talk things out. Be up front and honest about it all. Has always worked relatively well in the past with anybody who can think."

Edel hangs back for a moment, adjusting her glasses. "Talk about enthusiasm... I enjoy your energy! I'm willing to scout, as well, should it be required. I'm just along for the ride at the moment."

Aliasi landed a bit away, and she shows SOME descretion - she 'only' grows to about fifteen feet tall or so, far from her maximum to hide her full ability, but large enough that her form is easily visible from a distance as she approaches the landed helicopters. "So who the hell could have done that?" She calls out once in shouting distance. "I didn't think ZEPHYR would have had any missiles left that worked!"

"We don't use missiles!" Chimes a rodent-woman from the Zephyr helicopter, looking indignant. "Too archaic and way too expensive per use." She states, nodding firmly. Yankeer just shakes his head. "Keep in radio contact. You should hit the edge of the bubble in a few miles distance. From what we've gathered, San Diego was definitely one of hte bigger hit targets. Give us a heads up every hour so we can send the mechanics and guards forward to be a few miles closer when we find out what the hell is going on."

Skade starts moving out, keeping an eye out for any ferals. "Join RSX, they said. Travel the world, they said. Fucking SSDD.." she mutters under her breath as she walks. "Hey, anyone know anything about what the San Diego bubble might be like?" she asks over the coms.

Edel rubs her chin with her free hand. "Few miles, huh? That's not too bad I guess. On foot we're much less likely to attract attention." Checking her comm once more and flipping the switch on her drone, she sets off in the designated direction.

Aliasi follows alongside, keeping to her larger size for a better vantage. That and she's confident enough to withstand a lot conventional attacks. The drones might be more practical, but she's going to do what she can. "Yeah, I could walk that no problem. Stay low, in case they have, like, radar or something, right?" Ali wasn't military, she was a security officer years ago, in civilian life, so she doesn't speak with nearly the assurance of others.

As the group walks forward towards Camp Pendleton, the hilly, almost mountainous terrain definitely favors a determined defender. And the strange 'quiet' that seems to hang in the air was almost oppressing. Still, as they reach some unseen point, those who are of a more 'senstive' nature towards nanites, in whatever form from controlling them to use 'magic' or to alter the body, can feel that control returning, a clear sign they've reached the edge of the San Diego bubble.

Skade eyes roam the countryside, trying to spot any telltale signs of civilization. Roads, buildings or the likes. "Do you guys see anything?" she asks over the com. "Has to be something around here. We've been walking for ages.." she finishes, fairly oblivious to the fact that they've arrived at another bubble.

Aliasi calls back - using her Telepathic nanomagic as a subsitute for a radio, although her comm allows her to hear back well enough - "I'm just glad I don't have to keep my personal one up. I don't see anything much, yet, and I can see a good deal further than the rest of you."
