The Wind picks up and seems to ripple over the snow, banks building up on the side of the building as the snowfall from before rages on into a full blown storm. The whisper and whistle confuse all the sounds, while the shrieks from above and glimmers of silver become both louder and nearer, so those that look up can see what seem almost like...winged forms!
Inside, Randel and those souls who have braved the stench are halted, not by anything yet except what seems to be a wall of darkness, a globe that expands outward from the creature below, whorling blue spirals cover the surface like on a soap-bubble but inside is only blackness. The maniacal laughter that comes from inside seems to rend and pulse, shivering through your skulls with fear and need, somehow forcefully dredging up memories not your own, of hanging from the gibbets at dawn, endless plains of cold and snow, blanketed by ice born out of hate and a desire for nothingness. Hammering you with despair as those just inside the building gaze on the menace before them. "How DARE you interrupt me at Feast!" Roars outward from the shadow of the Beast, the tarps around all shiver and seem to pull away, some with limbs stripped of skin pulling at themselves to get away, another you can barely make out, seems to have a noose around his neck and is gasping for breath, his head at an odd angle, while he throws up wetly and tries, tries to get away...to claw the wall for escape.
With only Cyrus behind him, Anbessa cannot help but flinch back from the booming, intimidating voice from within the darkness in front of him and Cyrus as the wind blows into the hole they stand in front of, him jerking his gun upwards after he takes a fearful step back! But after a moment, his foot catches on the floor, and he resteadies himself. "Nrrgh! Screw your feast!" His fear quickly gives way into rage at the mere thought of this... Whatever it is, making HIM flinch! His voice booms even through the floor as he shouts out in return. "Gonna make you CHOKE on what you're coughing up!" With his boast booming back, the comfort of his stock meeting his shoulder only bolsters his intent as he steadies it towards the blob of darkness. Whatever this thing is, this fight is ON! With his heart pumping, and his pupils shrinking, he savors the sensation of adrenaline coursing through him as he steadies his aim towards the giant bubble of darkness in challenge.
Cyrus wraps her arms around Anbessa and pulls him back to her soft embrace, startled by the shout but reassured with Anbessa here. "It's okay dear, he's not near us, but we should head inside soon to help," she said in a calming voice. She paused and frowned. "Well, you should at least. I'm too weak to be of any help. This damn heat has my head in a twist. I go in there I'm sure I'll just lift my tail and present myself." She drew out a tentacle and strokes the human's back, trying not to let her lustful thoughts take control of her. "I might be able to help you get up and in though, be the only useful thing I've done today."
Still holding her nose, Core fumbles her Power Gator out of her work jacket, scrambling to get the container open, and takes a very hasty swig. She looks around the tower interior, for a moment wistfully imagining all the things she could do with bedsheets and pillows (no, not THAT - well okay, maybe a little, she is a Talakai after all), but just sighs and clips the ARK to her work jacket. "Seguro," she says into the comm - as loudly as she dares, and facing away from the two-way radio - "get me over to the rest of you! I found something that should help, but I need to be closer." As she speaks, she moves towards one of the room's exits, readying herself to run outside so Seguro can grab her, while grimacing worriedly at the sound of unfamiliar flapping wings overhead.
Seguro sighs as cores voice come over the coms, radioing back over the com shi replies "I can try the weather is getting bad for flying. Make sure you an Ben are ready to go when I get there, and keep an eye on the sky you may have company soon." Seguro fishes in hir pocked for the pair of X-Ray Specs shi had bought as a gag, shrugging hir shoulders, the dragon switches the unit on. Lifting off Seguro heads on the direction of the watch tower.
"Feast? Feast?!" the enraged draconic beast says in venomous distain. Randel looks around as the tarps are pulled off, showing the dead and dying around it. There are too many to get at and save. He's thought this nightmare out before. It is a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation. He almost breaks down in tears right there; his is a doctor for a reason, not a real fighter or soldier than can be heartless when needed. "Damn you!" is roared out, not as loud as the other monster in the room, but still filled with emotion, "I'll fucking feast on YOUR body! And rape your corpse back to live and do it again, and again!" Over the comm Randel almost yells, "We have a bad situation! Dead and dying in here. Need medics NOW!" After that he charges on all fours, using claws to dig into the ice, but would be slowed by any bodies that are in the way.
Benjamin hears the the request for pick up from Core just as he manages to compose himself, wiping the last of his up turned mean with the back of his hand. "Guh... So gross..." He says as he readies himself to join Core in joining the rest of the group. He reaches out his right hand do Core as he sees her, ready to leap as soon as she was ready and when Seguro arrived. The rest of the group needed assistance and he was not going to be stuck up here while they fought whatever beast they faced alone. "Come on we need to get down there fast."
Thelergramor continues to hang upon the wall; somewhere not too far from Randel's entryway. He reamins less than concerned while the blood drips from his left hand; should probably be more worried. The stench, well, having overcome it already, the fox just ignores it. As Seg takes off, he climbs up to the lip of the ledge; peers into the room. "The fuck is that?" A slight slip is all that prevents him from getting up there immediately.
Laughter comes out of the darkness, the marble growing large as one after another you look to it, voices in your head, the tiny whispering claws of fear scratching at the doors of your mind. Whorls of light, electric blue and brightening pass over the surface of the globe, coming to the surface and submerging once more, each new symbol a fresh assault on yourmind, your senses. The wet rending noise from inside grows more needful, the hushed whisper of fearful crying broken by fearful cries and pleas for mercy
Above the great flapping comes closer and large, dark balls fall down, each landing below, some with a heavy weighted *thunk* and others with the tink of metal when they hit a shard of glass, (+roll Perception and if you get 9 or higher, +roll Evasion. Everyone.)
The balls are of glass and metal, each one with a lit fuse coming out of the top and glowing brightly as it shortens. They land all over, carpet-bombing the area with an almost musical sound, shards of broken glass sticking out of each of them, some at the base of the tower itself and some on the roof with heavy thunks, rolling slowly downward onto the catwalk, and a few even going inside to land beside Thel and Randel.
Anbessa lets out a brief yelp as he is scooped up suddenly by Cyrus into a hug! While he does blush briefly from the huggling from her, he cannot help but frown as his arms still grip his rifle as he looks back at Cyrus. "You do know he is literally right THERE, right?" After a little bit more struggling, he grunts as he lands back on his feet. While he does pause to listen to the rapid sounds of glass breaking, he cannot help but grumble before he lets that thought pass. Not his problem right now! Putting his rifle back to bare, the human's mouth opens to bare his teeth despite the balaclava in the way as he braces himself before he starts to step forward as well. With his equipment nice and heavy, his steps resound with loud *thump thump thump thump* as he steps up. With his aggrivation still in his expression, he moves forward in challenge with his gun readied, as if daring something to come out.
Cyrus's ears perk up as Randel's message comes to her comm, her concern for the injured making her heartbeat faster as she looks around for a way to get up to Randel. "I'll be there as soon as I can," she calls out through the comm, the thought of being of some use filling her with joy. However Anbessa falls from her arms and draws her attention to the shadowy horror and the bombs landing. She shivers and lowers her head, body becoming as small as she could make it without utilizing her zephyr installed implant. "Shit, those bombs are going to kill us all." She drops to her knees and tries hiding behind Anbessa, the thought of how ridiculous the idea is lost to her. as she mutters tearfully. "I don't want to die, not here. I want to see Love again, be in her arms and have her fill me with calves. God, this was such a huge mistake."
"You're a dear, Seg," Corey mutters into the comm. She grabs a blanket off of one of the beds almost without looking - never know when you'll need a blanket - and clutches it close to her breast as she scoots out onto the walkway, next to Ben. She waves out to Seguro frantically, and eyes the glass-studded spheres lying nearby. "So is this what that noise- fuck. Seg! SEG!" Core flings the blanket over the nearest cluster of bombs, and hops up and down, waving both arms. "Need that lift NOW! RIGHT now!"
Seguro makes a beeline for the tower, treading air for a but a moment, two suckered tentacles spring form the dragons stomach making a lunge, to grab hir fellow agents, the tentacles latching on to hir fellow agents and pull then against the dragon underbelly. With a flap of hir great wing, Segruo moves away from the tower with as much speed as shi can muster. Hoping to mitigate damage to hir passengers, the dragon activates lion within, two tentacles spring from the dragon's back coating hirself and hir companions in a thick coating of protein shield to, the hp buffer should help to block incoming damage. The dragon heads back in the direction of the hole in the wall with hir cargo in toe.
The cold is worse than Randel has ever felt in years. This has to be supernatural; there is no cold environment on Earth that can sap him of heat this badly. Sleeping near exposed outside in the worst winter never felt this bad since he adapted towards it. Doubt creeps in; flashbacks of the first years after the nanite outbreak eat at him. He howls in anger and desperation, as he finds himself likely biting off more than he can chew. He has to get his claws into this thing and literally hold on for dear life. He swings a claw here and there, hoping for a hit, and not of one of the monster's tortured hostages. He risks much more than he intended on this, as he puts himself and the victims on the line. Suddenly he feels a hit, and it's huge! He thanks all that is good and claws onto it, pulls it close and him towards it, and clings onto it in the familiar feline 'fighting style' he is so used to. He tries to grapple and with his arms and legs while going for a bite to something vital, like a neck. If it where visible at all, one would see glowing white drool leave his muzzle as the nanites in his mouth get ready for biting into his target.
Benjamin smiles as he sees Seguro swooping in, raising his arms so that her tentacle could easily catch him and pull his relatively light feline body to her. He would feel a rush of toughness as seguro activated her powers to protect him and core. He braces himself against the coming detonation, shielding his face with his arms and tucking in his legs to become a smaller target.
Thelergramor pulls himself up into the room. The fox glances at the bombs, or whatever those are. Probably bombs. "Hmm... Those might be a problem." Immediately after, the fox unslings his Auto-Hammer again, then shrugs as he can no longer see Randel. "...Great." The fox, knowing he might hit the large dragon, looks over to the bombs and decides: "Well. This might hurt." Pulling his scarf down as his stomach growls, Thele pulls a sammitch from his pocket and takes a bite.
The fuses press in closer on each of the balls, shorter and shorter until they meet their end, inside. The first explosion is felt more than heard, a muffled thump that is repeated quickly, like some sort of massive Black Cat deomonstration, but with massive searing pain! The glass shards splatter everywhere, scorching through flesh with metal and fire, the power of them grinding upward to put great rending tears in Seguros wings while the overwhelming thump of each combined shocks you all to your knees from the pressure wave. (+roll Fortitude to see if you keep any of your hearing)
The ceiling doesn't fall here, so much as explode downward, taking scraps of metal and stone with it into the room and peppering you with the force of a shotgun blast (Randel, +roll Willpower and Fortitude with a -5 mod to each.) The building rumbles and quakes, the walls being blown inward and begins to shake and crumble, the structure cannot stand this much longer! Girders fall and walls collapse, all those scraps and sheets by the walls are crushed, blasted and buried, bodies flying everywhere as just more shrapnel, some being completely blow apart.
Benjamin and Core are partially shielded by their distance from the ground, and looking back at the tower where they just came from, have an excellent view of it, the blast taking out the support struts, the old Water Towers weight slowly tilting it in toward the building until it shimmies over, and slowly starts to topple, quickly picking up speed as it goes. (+roll Fortitude+3, +roll Armor+2 all.)
The explosions rocked the building to its' core, folding in support struts and throwing ice, dust and other things into the air, blinding all. The last thing you see before dust and snow block your sight is enough to make you pause. The black marble of darkness covering Randel and The Beast flickers and is gone, in the middle a Transformation is shown, the beasts eyes glowing brightly and filling one gripping fist, a rod of twined Oak and Ash rests, the huge wolf-head at the tip has an open snarl, huge, at least a foot across, and dripping with light from what seem to be open wounds along its skull. A girder fell and struck the Beast, whose body seems somehow...wrong. And that's saying something with all you HAVE seen so far. It's different in a way that just screams out to you, somewhere in your instincts a voice is crying for you to run, that here lies danger you cannot survive.
The Wolf. The whisper in your mind is clear and seems louder than the blast from before, somehow gathering all your attention, enthralling and pleading "The Wolf has Come," it teases, visions of blood and fire, the scent of burning cold striking just a second before a wash of white flame slams out and pushes over everything and everyone, flattening the nearby walls and chilling you to your core, blasting the clouds from the sky to let a red sun shine. The bare structure of the building stands around you, Randel thrown by the coldfire. "The Wolf has Come." Words. Where once a Beast lay, is now a Man. Bodies lay strewn, frozen, and The Wolf looks on, Staff in hand, bowing just once to the fallen with a Grin. "Call me by my name, upstarts. Call me..." his eyes crackle with power, and he raises his fingers above his head, poised to snap "...Loki." And all is Darkness.
