Namidian (Quest)

From Flexible Survival
Jump to: navigation, search

Go on a vision quest to become a one of the People's Warriors, gaining the opportunity to dedicate as a Namidian. This quest does not appear in the quest log. You can start this quest right after character creation, but the boss at the end may not be possible.

Location

Head East from Zephyr Inc's entrance until you reach [Highway]: Entrance, then go Northeast. From there, follow the path (f) until you reach the Aassahke Encampment.

Quest Info

Start by talking to River at the Aassakhe encampment. Accept her offer of food and agree to help her, and she'll take you to the Journey Tent, where there will be a Conch Shell, Eagle Feather, and Herb-filled Pipe. If you need to leave this room, you can get back in by talking to River again. Check the Conch Shell (say yes), then the Pipe, and finally the Feather to start your vision quest.

Once inside the vision, there will be various objects highlighted in yellow and green text in room descriptions- you'll generally progress by checking things noted in the green text. You can re-enter the vision by talking to River, then checking the Eagle Feather again. Starting from [Vision Quest]:Embarkment, head toward the scent (S) to reach [Vision Quest]: Heartwood, where you'll see a Small Fire. Checking it is optional for now, so do so if you want. Head Inside (In), taking you to [Vision Quest]: Sanctum. You can look at the paintings and Carvings in the Sanctum, but again, it's optional. Once you Check the mural, read as much of it as you want, and note the second to last sentence about the light flickering. Head back outside, and check the Small Fire to begin a series of questions to determine your Spirit Animal. Keep checking the objects in the green text until the questions end and you get a vision of yourself in the role of some sort of creature that rewards a badge. Afterwards, check the Mirror Lake, which will lead you into the next portion of the quest as you see an image of yourself.

Once you reach the next section, you'll see a set of Winter Clothes before you. Checking them and talking to the Elder Spirit Woman after will begin the next part of the quest, forging a spear to hunt the Beast of Twilight. You'll need find numerous things within the vision to forge the spear- a shaft, a spear head, some blood, some string, and fire. Talk to the Elder Spirit for the list, plus hints on how to make the strongest possible spear (there's a badge for doing so).

You'll need String, Blood, a shaft, and a head. The shaft and head can be found in areas branching from the River once you find it, and are made from a tree branch and an arrowhead. You'll have to fight an enemy to retrieve the arrowhead. The String and the Glass Vial you need for the blood are in the same location, which can be reached from the Elder Spirit Woman's location. The blood can also be retrieved from areas around the Elder Spirit Woman once you have the vial. This entire area is somewhat maze like, so it can take some time to find everything. For the path to each area of interest, see the Quest Solution section. After you have the shaft, arrowhead, and string, go as far downriver as you can to reach a Hot Spring, then go to it and check it to forge the spear. Finally, once you have blood, return to the Elder Spirit Woman, talk to her, and you'll be transported to a new place. Blow the horn and the boss battle begins! The fight's winnable fairly easily at 28, though it'll vary based on your powers and class.

After this is done, talk to River again to complete the quest (and get a badge if you made the strongest spear). Once you've talked to River, you can talk to Meda to go to the dedication point, Etu for another bit of story, or Chenoa for the option to follow her to her tent and become her mate (this results in the Aassahke Male infection- and you can repeat sex scenes to reinfect if you like the form).

Quest Solution(Spoilers)

Starting the Vision Quest

  • Go to the Aassahke Encamptment near the City Exit in Fairhaven.
  • Talk to River, say yes to her questions.
  • Check the Conch, Pipe, and Feather, in order.

Determining Your Spirit Animal

  • Once inside the vision quest, follow the exits until you go inside the Sanctum.
  • Optional- look at the various things highlighted in the Sanctum's description. They've got some lore/background.
  • Check the mural.
  • Go back outside, check the fire to start the questions that determine your animal.
  • After you get your animal, just check the objects in the description to continue.

The Trial

[x] means that's the short form to take that exit from a room. For instance, reaching the River would be W, W, W, S

You need 1 type of Blood, 1 Branch, 1 Arrowhead, and the Glass Vial(for the blood).

Deer and Wolf Carcasses are sources of Blood

  • Deer Carcass- [R]ocks, [Ice]Frozen Pathway, [Wi]nd, [R]ocks, [S]cent
  • Wolf Carcass- [W]ander, [W]ind, [R]ocks, [Ice]Frozen Pathway, [S]cent
  • River- [W]ander, [W]ind, [W]ander, [S]ound (Takes you to River)
  • Abandoned Supplies- [R]ocks, [W]ander, [W]ind, [S]cent
    • Note, check all 4 options for supplies to get what you need. Obtain Shoelaces(String) and Glass Vial(for blood)

From the first room of the River:

  • Cave- [U]priver, [C]ave Entrance
    • Within Cave, [D]eeper, Check Mural for story and a hint on which arrowhead is the most effective.
    • Wrought Iron Arrowhead- [C]revasse
    • Stone Arrowhead- [R]iver (note, this is NOT the same river as outside)
    • Obsidian Arrowhead - [S]hadowy Path
      • You'll have to fight an enemy when you take an arrowhead. Check the arrowhead again afterward to take it and return to the Elder Spirit Woman
  • Forest- [D]ownriver, [F]orest
    • There are 3 branches, inspect each. The Elder Spirit Woman's comments on the spear's shaft are your hint for which is the most effective. You'll be sent back to the River after taking a branch.
  • Hot Spring- [D]ownriver, [D]ownriver, [H]ot Spring
    • Once you have the shoelacers, an arrowhead, and branch, come here to forge the spear. Afterwards, return to the Elder Spirit Woman by going [U]priver twice, then to [R]ocks.
  • Elder Spirit Woman- [R]ocks

Fight the Beast Once you forge the spear at the Hot Spring and have some blood, return to the Elder Spirit Woman and talk to her once more. Blow the horn and start the boss battle. It was fairly easy at level 28, though higher levels may have it even easier. Afterward, talk to River (the NPC... not the location from the vision quest) at the encampment to complete the quest. Once you do, talk to Meda, Etu, and (if you want sex and the Aassahke Male form), Chenoa. Meda takes you to the dedication point, and Etu gives some story.
