Details
"Wouldn't you like to know, weather-boy?"
Malcolm Wright, better known as 'Mal', is a bastard, by all accounts. Former military, current Coyote, Mal is an expert marksman and talented Xenobiologist, finding a deep fascination with Nanite mutations and the behavioral changes they can instill... Which is exactly the kind of fascination that no Coyote should hold. Mal is wasteland survivor, finding a certain thrill in the chaos of the apocalypse. When RSX and Zephyr focused their efforts on recivilization, Mal created his mercenary group - Wright Consulting - under the guise of offering 'consultancy' for all manner of problems, and furthering some of the old goals of RSX Solutions. His group does do consulting, primarily for RSX - and even to some extent, Zephyr, when they begrudgingly need his help - but a main focus of his group involves being a hired gun for anyone willing to pay, and just dressing it up in a civilized, professional suit. Wright Consulting dabbles in a couple different fields, though, ranging from simple mercenary work, to Nanite research. The man delights in subterfuge and trickery, and believes if you don't have a few aces up your sleeve, then you're just not playing with a full deck of cards.
Mal is, also, prone to vices, such as gambling, drinking, and drugs, in case it wasn't obvious.
Appearance
Malcolm Wright's most common appearance is that of a Human, albeit a rugged, masculine one. In truth, he relies on a variety of mutations to achieve this 'Human'-looking, chimeric shape. His second most common form is that of a Coyote, though notably larger than the standard Coyote mutation. Mal is a man who enjoys combining multiple different mutations, to see how they'll interact, and he relies on carefully crafted chimeric forms to craft a certain look. There are a few constants, regardless of shape — he's always at the taller end of the spectrum, for one, but more notably, he always has vividly green eyes, that seem to glow with a certain mischievous power, due to his connection with Coyote. In addition, his hair is always auburn, and this extends to fur, when applicable.
In addition, Mal is not often found without his signature coat - a brown, leather coat, with far too many pockets on this inside. Those pockets also seem deeper than they should be... Curious.
Background
On February 11th, 2008, Mal woke up from a drunken blackout on the outskirts of Las Vegas, in the aftermath of P-Day. He did what any smart person would do, in the face of a Grey Goo event — he ran. Details from there are hazy, because every time Mal tells his story to someone, the details change — there are a few constants, though. He found his way to New York, and he worked his way down the coast, to his home state of Georgia. At some point, he heard about how Zephyr was operating out of Fairhaven, California, and started to make his way back across the country, to the West Coast. Somewhere past Texas, though, he got picked up by RSX Solutions, who recruited him for his prior Military service.
A man who would've thrived within Zephyr, with his talents for subterfuge and deception, suddenly found himself in the rigid structure of RSX — and he put his skills to just as good a use there, as he would've in Zephyr. Perhaps with a few more reprimands than he would've seen with the Big Z.
While working for RSX, Mal had a few run-ins with the Prometheans and Zephyr that were, perhaps, less than professional. Or diplomatic — he often sabotaged their projects and efforts. He's certainly been involved in some more memorable sabotages, which earned him something of a Bad Reputation. He regrets nothing. He will do it again.
