In the center of the fire department parking lot sits a lone podium infront of the two opened fire station garage doors. The two freshly washed fire trucks and the one lone ambulance looked weathered but serviceable. A tall armored chimera stands next to the podium with a shorter Snow-Leopard Taur. There is a lapine secretary dressed in a black slip busily tapping away on a comm unit while coversing with the SnoLeo mutant who wears a daper suit on his upper half. The chimera stands stoicly watching any who approach, evaluating them for their potential ability as volunteer applicants. His green eyes meet yours with a friendly shine, in that moment you can tell they are as much a predator as they are a leader.

After a few minutes and several other mutants of various sizes, species and subspecies gather. The SnowLeo finally steps up to the podium and clears his throat, with a loud eloquent voice he greets the gathering, "Thank you all for comming! My name is Mr. Peterson and I am the residing County Clerk here to bestow my blessings upon Fairhaven's first operational Fire Department. It is today that we finally give our brave heroes a truly operational place to both execute their imperative mission and to support them while they recuperate between their vital role in serving our fair city. These many years has seen the city overcome obstacle after obstacle for the betterment of Fairhaven, and today it gets just a bit brighter!" he turns to the chimera and introduces them, "Without further ado, one of the people who made this possible and the newly appointed fire chief for the the city, and this fire station, Station 7, let me introduce Fire Chief Korune." The chimera nods.

"Thank you representative Perterson. It is my honor to welcome you all to the cities first fully operational Fire Department. I could ramble on about it, or I could just show it to you, But please let me not take up your time." he says he takes a overly sized pair of scissors from the clerk, and cuts the ribbon. "Today we start the job we have been doing for many years already, but with a place finally to call ours!" the chimera cheers to the clapping of the audience. "Thank you Mr. Peterson, I'll take it from here". He says and turns to the audience, "Feel free to follow me to check out the equipment" the chimera says leading the audience into the station.

Willy smiles as he follows the group with a slight bit of awe. The current Skunk Beast shaped agent was dressed up in his spiffy work suit, accented with certain notes to keep certain parts of him hidden but noticible. Willy had come here because Korune had spoke to him about techincal at a previous meeting, and he was curious about what was in store for such plans.

Zamma listens from a short distance looking over the equipment on display. She keeps towards the back of the group as she observes. She wears her usual black dress, feeling a bit underdressed for the event.

Bilyso had heard about the fire department from the town hall meeting and decided to attend the opening ceremony. The small ferret applauds the speech as best he can and starts heading into the station. He is wearing a comfortable red hoodie that seems to be slightly oversized for his small frame

Korune shows the small group to the two engines and ambulance, "There are our three vehicles, the two fire engines are 2002 Peirce Glendales. They have been with the force since shortly after the apocolypse when they were salvaged and remodeled basically from scratch. Feel free to jump in the seat, give the horn a blow, or play around on them as you would, just don't hurt yourselves. The ambulance is a Ford E350, and she looks worse than she runs, shes been a vital part of our EMT team, they have even nicknamed her Mercy." The chimera opens the back of the full size emergency response vehicle showing a full collection of equipment. He gives the audience a chance to ask questions or make comments regarding the vehicles. He fully expected a comment about the brass slide pole.

Zamma looks over the vehicles. Her tail sways with mild interest, but remains quiet keeping her thoughts to herself. She does watch Korune's presentation respectidullyrespectfully. "I noticed a flyer that you were looking for volunteers... what roles are you looking for?"

Willy nods before stepping up to the Engine and does some minor messing with things. He presses the horn softly, and checks the various buttons and lights curious about them, before stepping back out of it and looking to Korune after hearing Zamma's question.

Bilyso climbs onto the fire truck's seat and tries his best to honk the horn. He basically has to jump onto the wheel to hit the horn. After he eventually succeeds, he leaves the truck and starts looking around the area aimlessly.

Korune looks to the tawny lioness and smiles, "To be honest we would take help however you feel you could contribute, Our Emergency Medical and Triage teams need the most love if I were to be honest they are horribly overworked so i you have the time, medical aptitude and stamina I would love to enroll you there, we could always use more full time fire fighters but its a dirty, demanding job with a decent training curve. The dispatch station is usually left empty and simply forwarded to my or the other fire chief's comm units, an individual with good management and social skills would be invaluable as a eye in the sky, or over the phone. There is also equipment maintenance if you have a more technical flair. Outside of that, anything from just helping during routine tasks and the like would be beneficial as well." he says a bit ashamed at how poorly manned the department is.

Willy Will smiles as Korune answers the Lion, flipping his group of tails a little as he awaited an insert point. "If I may ask, how much time do we need to put in for said contribution? Just wondering as do have other commitments that can come up."

Zamma nods her head. "Well... I don't always have a lot of free time, but if I can drop by from time to time, amd you have some work, I would be willing to help. I assume this place is not cub-friendly..." She smiles a bit. "I'm not sure I know enough to be on a medical team, but I know a little bit. Or maybe I could help with some maintenance?"

Bilyso wanders over to the conversation and adds "I know a bit about first aid too! I might be able to help sometime."

Korune nods understanding their concerns, "If you could commit to a full day in a week, I would love to get you on the duty roster, any less than that would have to be handled pretty much on a case by case basis. We are always willing to accept the help though" he says as he escorts the group upstairs. "If you follow me upstairs, I'll show you the rest of our home here..." he says as he pads up the staircase.

A few of the younger audience members spot the upper half of the brass slide pole and dart over to it, sliding down it readily. The chimera just smiles and corrals the rest of the audience members to show them the offices, lounge, and barrack.

Willy Will chuckles a little as he sees people having fun with the pole before turning and following Korune ahead. "I think I can commit that then on the techincal side, as we did somewhat discuss at the meeting" he says, before continuing to observe the tour.

Rather than trying to clamber up the stairs one at a time; Bilyso flies up from the hole where the slide pole is, before grabbing the pole and sliding down again. After a few trips up and down, he eventually settles down, and plops down on one of the sofas

Zamma follows the group upstairs sniffing the air out of habit as she looks around "Not too bad..." She looks at Korune. "I'm not sure I'm ready to go on a roster, but maybe with a bit of training. I'll promise to come by and if I can be useful, maybe..." She moves to follow Korune around the space looking at the offices.

Korune motions toward the dispatch station, "This terminal here has full access to the cities traffic grid and Emergency Service Network. The user can even control the multiple working traffic lights in Fairhaven from here in order to prevent traffic related delays. There is also the full standard caller ID and personnel file database via our boys in blue across the street." he then points to the desk next to the terminal with the white board with various names, "That is the chief's desk, no toys, nothing shiny, just figuring out who is working when." He then motions over to the break area and lounge. "Fairly straight forward. The coffee maker is our best volunteer, they are always working their ass off 24/7!" he says with a chuckle then over to the barracks. "The cots are for our overnight shifters when we have 24 hour duty days, you can find our EMT's here when they aren't out on a job or enjoying a day off because the hospital team is covering the city, like today. Beyond that is the mixed gender bathroom, we had to convert this building from a warehouse so we didn't have the resources or care to even bother with segregating the showers or bathroom." he admits. "That is basically it though, feel free to look around for yourselves. This really concludes the tour. I did get fresh pizza over in the lounge as a way to thank you for comming out. If you have any questions I'd be more than happy to assist" the chimera says.

Willy smiles and sniffs the area, curious about the Pizza, but he stops and shakes his head for the moment. Walking over to the dispatcher area, he observes the various tools and monitors as he tries to get a general grasp on how things work.

The few remaining mutants mill around to check out all the different locations and areas on their own, a few walk up to the chimera and ask a question which the chimera answers then move on, most head over to the pizza and help themselves to the boxes of divine american fare.

Upon hearing the word pizza; Bilyso quickly gets up and flies on top of the table to get a slice, and quickly scarfs it down. Once he finishes his snack before heading over to Korune to discuss volunteer duty in more detail.

Zamma looks over the terminal seeming familiar with such equipment. She smiles politely before looking at the beds. "So you run this place, Korune, was it?"

Korune watches the ferret comes up and then hears a question from the lioness from earier, "I am one of the elected fire chiefs yes. Though I hardly say I run the place. I simply led the effort to renovate the place and manage the duty schedules, It's the only reason they gave me the badge" he says being honest.

Completing the inspection of the Dispatch area, Willy steps over to the Kitchen and grabs himself a slice of pizza before it's all gone. Finding a comfy seat, he sits down and slowly enjoys it, as he looks up to see what is being discussed.

Zamma nods her head. "Alright.... I will keep that in mind, chief." She then walks over to the table to get a glass of water."

Bilyso dooks, "Like I said earlier, I know a decent bit about first aid. I can still use a bit of training but I hope I can be of at least some help."

Korune nods to the ferret, "Any help is appreciated, perhaps after some on the job training you would be willing to volunteer for a full duty shift?" he offers, "I can put you on the training schedule, if you care to be included in further contact go ahead and sign up on the volunteer sign up sheet over on the dispatch station" he says to the little ferret.

Willy finishing his Pizza, Willy gets up and walks over to the Volunteer signup. Taking the pen, he inks himself in for work on the Dispatch and Equipment maitence size, before going back to get another slice of pizza.

Zamma quietly excuses herself downstairs away from the main group. She waves to Korune. "Thanks for showing us around. I will try to come by and visit at times."

Bilyso thanks Korune for the information and signs himself up for volunteer duty before flying back to the table to take a slice of pizza for the road.

Korune nods to her and watches as the rest of the mutants slowly filter out he walks over the the skunk, "Willy right?" he says seeing their name on the sign ups with scarely few other names. "You're in a different fur today" the chimera admits, "Thanks for signing up" he says
