Various drinks and confectionery line the table off to the side, and the entire estate was seemingly wiped and cleaned to perfection for the event. Sweet aromas of cookies, bacon strips, cake, several kinds of tea, fine wine and other delicious odors waft throughout the air, a few mutants already enjoying themselves here and there, idly conversing with a drink or a snack in hand. Meanwhile the host was near the main door, idly conversing with a well dressed feline about the upcoming addition to the city. The place seemed mostly peaceful for now, and the coffers empty... though the event had only just started. Both Otto and his housekeeper paid close attention to the door, routinely coming out to check for new arrivals.

Michi made his way up to the door, wearing a nervous smile of anticipation as he made his way past the first door, and stepped up to the second. The husky took a moment to look down at himself and his outfit, frowning a bit and adjusting a few of the items. "I knew I should have made a suit long ago." He mutters to himself, but finally lifts his hand to knock at the door. Pulling in a comforting sharp breath, he waited for an answer, his tail wagging just slightly with excitement.

Ebreus strolls down the stairs to the foyer as the event begins. Wearing his formal suit for the occasion he looks over those who have already arrived. He smiles noting the host and housekeeper are present for the event. He makes his way to one of the table and loiters out of the way.

It was the feline, of all people, who answers the door, moving in to open the heavy portal, swinging it open and flashing Michi a smile, clearly identifying him. With a light bow, he gestures towards Otto, the hound already on his way to wrap his arms around the husky. "Hi sunshine!" he greets, his tail wagging behind him. "So glad you could come! Please make yourself at home, grab some snacks, mingle if you'd like!" the hound cheers and leans in to peck that cheek. "Oh! You're here about the school, right? How great is that! It's so close-by! You won't have to make that damnable commute any more!" His glance snapping away from Michi for a moment, Otto gives Ebreus a wave and a nod, not sure why he'd dressed so formally, but hey! Anyone looks good in a suit!

The nekomata, Maya, has a small suitcase she wheels behind her as she walks up to the school's opening. She's dressed primly, her outfit and demeanor showing her to be a librarian. She wears a black waistcoat, black slacks, a white vest, horn-rimmed glasses, and her white hair done up in a bun. She purrs lightly as she approaches the door. "This is for the school opening, correct? I wanted to make a donation from my collection of the Clairmont University Library."

Harold is the one who answers the nekomata, the sharply dressed feline looking quite pleased to see another. He silently nods and gestures towards Maya to come right in and directs her towards Otto, who was still chatting with Michi about things. Closing the door behind them, the housekeeper returns to his duties, offering snacks and refills to folks in the room.

Michi gives the feline a nod in greeting. "Hello Harold, n-nice seeing you again." The husky giggles at the hug though, "Y-yep, really glad this project will be going forward." His tail was wagging more now, "F-figured I better show up...you know be present, network and all that." Rubbing his nape, he nods at Otto. "Right." He glances over to the Nekotama who enters. "Hello, nice to meet you." He gives her a warm, if slightly sheepish smile.

The lone bookshelf on the wall swings open and a curvy bunny steps out. He's wearing cut off jeans and a black, sleeveless hoodie that also is cut off to reveal his midriff. He stretches his arms above his head before opening his eyes. He blinks in confusion as he scans the foyer. His eyes fall to the hellhound. "Baaaabe. Who are these people? Why are there snacks everywhere?" He says as he goes to a table and grabs a handful of snacks without missing a beat. He nods to the husky. "Hey Michi. How's it going?"

Ebreus watched from his position as more people arrive. He snatches a morsel off the table and moves over to the group. "Hello." he greets. Seeing Otto hug Niles he grins, "Guess you two are familiar with each other." he says,

Otto snickers and nods, then looks over towards Maya. "Hello there! Welcome to Arborwatch. I'll be with you in but a moment!" Otto raises one finger to ask her to wait, then moves over towards Ebreus. "Wow, more folks showed up than I thought, Eb... Pretty crazy eh? Like the suit, but you're a touch overdressed. Heh~" he mutters quietly as he grabs oe of the cookies within reach, only to have his eyes drawn away by Niles' arrival. "Eh? Oh. You didn't...?" the hound looks a touch flabbergasted. "I was sure I told you. I am hosting a small gathering to raise funds for a public project in the works." before turning back towards Ebreus. "Yep. Pretty familiar." the hound gives Niles' ass a quick pinch and shoots him a wink.

Maya bows the other cat, purring softly as she smiles. She gives a nod to the husky and a wave. "Hello there. I suppose I should Introduce myself?" She lets the question hang in the air. "Then I suppose I must. I am Maya Maloney. Librarian of Clairmont Library." She offers a hand to Michi in greeting.

Michi shakes Maya's hand, smiling at her. "Michael Toft Jensen, or Michi, as everyone calls me. I work for the school in Eureka. Was hoping to lend my expertise to the school here when it opens." The canine blinks a bit as he hears Niles, but turns to give a shy wave. "H-heya Niles." The canine shifts a little from foot to foot, the insides of his ears turning a little redder. "How have you been?" He asks the bunny. The husky looks over to the other hellhound, Ebreus and gives him a nod in greeting "Hello, d-don't think I've met you before."

Niles blinks at Otto before nodding. "Riiiiight. Thaaaaat." He says slowly before coughing. "That's today, huh?" He raises an eyebrow at Ebreus before arching his back and yelping as Otto pinches him. He looks at Otto with red cheeks. "So, what kinda project is it?" Then he suddenly turns to Michi. "You mean Michi isn't actually your name?" The bunny asks incredulously. Then he shrugs. "Doing pretty alright now that I got you and Otto in the same room." He says and giggles to himself as he munches on more snacks.

Ebreus nods to Ottos response. "Yeah, I guess I am... just though a charity get together and my mind defaulted to formal attire." he says with a shrug. "Oh? I am Ebreus, nice to meet you Michi." he says, extending a hand to shake.

Renaria would come down from the upstairs rooms, the huntress in a dress that seems to be cut from dark silk, looking like a star-filled sky. The dress compliments her glowing pale skin excellently. She would also have a ring of bright lights around her left wrist, the Bow of the Stars not usually a fashion object, but Ren wasn't one to show up underdressed. She would take measured steps down to the Foyer, smiling softly and making her way to Otto, planting a quick peck on his cheek and saying meekly "Hope I got it right, usually not one to dress up." she would look to the other guest, glad to hear some introductions, but staying a bit reserved herself

"To be honest, Ebreus, same. Though I'm not just representing myself." Maya nods a bit, looking to the host. She's a bit surprised everyone seems to know him quite well, though she's barely familiar with his name. Her twinned tails wave a bit behindher as she looks over the new entries with curiosity.

Swinging an arm around the huntress, Otto leans in to peck her cheek in return, whispering into her ear "You look beautiful." before slowly parting from her. "I'll let the others explain that, sorry. I need to take care of some business. You folks enjoy, the first and second floors are open, explore, poke around all you like!" Otto smiles and turns his attention to Maya. "Miss Maloney, charmed to meet you. You mentioned making a donation?"

Michi shakes Ebreus's hand, "P-pleased to meet you too." The husky smiles wryly at Niles. "W-well..it isn't. Or...well, might as well be these days. Bu my real name is Michael. I d-din't figure you the type for formal addressing though." The canine looks over to Renaria, "You have a lot of people living with you here, Otto." The canine rubs his nape, before looking over to Maya, "I k-kinda wish I brought a suit too...or well...had one now, seeing the people here."

"Yes. I wanted to donate books to the school, as well as creds. I have spent the last two years collecting books and scanning them to save them from nanite damage. So I have many books captured electronically. I wanted to donate copies of those books. I have the hard drives with me. They are nanite shielded, so the only worry you should have about them is data decay that happens normally with time." Maya gives a sheepish grin, tapping the suitcase at her feet.

Niles is content to just watch the proceedings and munch on the snakes as a breakfast. He shrugs at Michi. "Pretty unfair to spring formality on me." He says. "I need time to prepare." He says and giggles to himself again. His eyes raise to Ren as she descends the stairs and an eyebrow raises as Otto kisses her cheek. The bunny nods at Michi's words. "I didn't even realize there were bedrooms up there." Then his ears stand on end at Maya's words. "School?"

"The place has grown, yes. I am considering rebuilding a private wing, kind of like the study, but..." he shrugs "All in due time, sorry..." he turns his attention back towards Maya. "That... that's wonderful!" he exclaims as he peers down at the case. "Preserved books, these are so rare these days! You're sure you won't need these?" he asks and casts her a curious glance "Not to sound ungrateful, no no no! Just, nevermind. Thank you so much!" Otto smiles widely and summosn Harold with a wave, the feline approaching and offering to accept the physical donation from Maya. "How much freecred shall I put you down for, miss Maloney?"

Renaria would look to maya curiously, but would decide not to pursue. The huntress would try to look relaxed, to little success, she had been busy recently, and would apologize to Michi "I'm just usually overdressed, perhaps my idea was a bit more on the formal side." she would hum gently to herself

Ebreus smiles as he hears Maya intending to doneate books. "Yeah, it's always nice to have a good suit." he says to Michi. He studies Rens dress as she comes down the stairs and chuckles as the comment about bedrooms is made, "There's a few up there." he says.

"There are guest rooms up on the third floor, actually. Though Ebreus and company are more like tenants." Otto clarifies and waves a hand, then snaps his glance onto Niles "Yeah! Isn't it great?! This event is to make sure the school is well equipped and provided for. With kids growing up so fast, we'll want them to be well educated for when they start their lives!"

Niles frowns in thought and moves over to examine the books, peering around Otto as he keeps munching. "Hm." He says and swallows. He looks at Otto with a flat expression. "Yeah, sounds great." He mutters. Before straightening up a bit and shrugging. "Well, if you're gonna complain about how you're dressed, just look at me. Hardly the outfit for a... charity drive, or whatever this is."

Michi fiddles nervously with his tail "I g-guess so..." The canine smiles softly "S-still...you look fine, d-don't worry about it." The canine steps over to one of the tables, getting himself a drink and a few snacks, breathing a little sigh, before turning to look back at the crowd. "Books will add to a good start indeed." His tail is wagging behind him. He pauses for a moment, thinking a little to himself before stepping over towards Otto "I'd like to donate too...it's a good cause."

Ebreus smiles, "Good to see so many people chipping in. If any of my philosophy books would be helpful your welcome to them." he says, smiling at the group, "Might be for advanced classes or something." he shrugs.

Maya whispers the cred amount to Otto, smiling a bit. "I don't know the exact value of the collection, sorry. I hope this is enough to help get things moving a bit better. I want to see some return to former civilization, even if that means just getting people to school." She nods, and gives a bow.

Renaria nods to michi, not wanting to impose on the obviously timid canid. The huntress stays toward the the edge of the room for a bit, realizing that she may want to give some herself, perhaps after the party as to not impose. She would allow the others to go to her lover without being predated upon by a talkative huntress.

The hound had known Niles long enough to tell something was wrong there... but that is a can of worms he'd open later in private with the bunny. For now, he was too busy picking his jaw up off the ground once he hears the value Maya intended to donate. "Sweet jumping jehosaphat!" he exclaims as he dots her down, a beep from his comm unit confirming the money transaction. "Th-that's... well, heh..." he gets a grip before revealing the actual number and clears the value on his comm, then turns to Ebreus and nods, "Thank you, Eb! I'll dot you down as well, I am sure we can find an excellent use for them!" his glance snaps onto Michi, a warm smile cast as he nods "I thought you might, sunshine. Whisper me the value if you'd prefer to keep it hush hush." Otto nods and readies his comm unit, his eyes falling onto Ren for a moment... a thought forming in his head, before returning to Michi.

Michi gives a thankful nod, leaning in to whisper something at Otto, before pulling back with a warm smile. "B-but...you've got lots of guests to attend to, so I-I'll let you get to that." The canine leans in and pecks Otto's cheek, before making his way over to one of the tables, a bit aside from the group of people, sipping his drink.

Niles waves a hand and shrugs. "If it means that much to you, I'm sure I have a few freecred kicking around I'm not using." He watches Renaria as she moves to the side of the room before flinching at Otto's exclamation. His ears twitch a bit before wondering around to the the drinks table and pouring himself a glass of something.

The hound goes a little wide-eyed once he hears those words, meeting Michi's eyes for a moment, a worried expression crossing his features. "You're sure?" he mutters, but deep down the canine knew Michi was dead serious. A soft *beep* from his comm unit, and it was done. "Thank you, sunshine." he answers warmly "Enjoy yourself, I'll be here if you want to chat!" That done, he casts Niles a curious, if a touch amused glance, "It means a lot to everyone." he nods "Are you sure you want to do this? No going back once I push confirm!" Otto chuckles, his tail swaying slowly behind him.

Maya headtilts a bit, nodding. "Best of luck to you with this venture." She heads over to grab some snacks, purring as she grabs some smoked salmon and cheese, nibbling on her food. She looks to the others. "So, i only know Otto and Ebreus, and now Michi.Can I get your names?"

Niles shrugs. "Babe, I can't remember the last time I spend cred on anything." He tosses a wink at Otto. "If I need funds, I'll just pump you. You've got a mansion, after all." He says as he brushes his hands on his pants and moves to get more snacks. "I'm sure whatever I've got to throw around isn't as much as this loaded group." He says, smiling at Michi before turning to Maya. "Hm? I'm Niles. I live with the hot one overe there." He says nodding to Otto as he pulls out his comm and taps out a sum to send to the hellhound.

Ebreus smiles as he sees Otto's expression at the whispered value of the donation. "Sounds like we can afford to pay some teachers a decent salary." he comments. He raises an eyebrow as Niles says he lives with Otto but doesn't comment on it.

Michi seems to relax a little now that he was out of the spotlight again. He sips his drinks as he glances around, nodding at Maya as she mentions him. He munches a bit on snacks as well, though mostly nibbling on one for a while. "Yeah....this is place keeps impressing me every time." He looks up to the ceiling and around. "Certainly bigger than my place." He then raises his glass to Niles "Thank you...the school will mean a lot to many people."

"It is a nice place. Certainly nicer than mine. I mean, I live out in the bath house by the Den in Clairmont. It's a small room but it has the perfect bed. took me a while to get the material for it." Maya purrs softly. "I see. Hot one, hunh. I mean, he is a hellhound." She chuckles a bit.

"Whatever you say, you hot..." he taps the confirmation into his comm unit "...magnificent piece of ass, you." the hound teases and casts Niles a sultry wink and a grin. Turning to Ebreus, he clarifies, "Niles has been bunking with me for the winter in the study. So, yeah! I'm actually surprised you two never met." he shrugs, then sighs softly "Seems like I have a lot of people coming and out these days."

Niles shrugs with a smile at Otto. "I never did learn the value of money. Is that a lot." He asks teasingly. Then he giggles and casts a glance at Ebreus. "For the winter, he says. Sure thing, Babe." He says with a wink at Otto. The bunny grabs a cookie off a table and starts munching it. He shrugs at Michi. "Lots of things mean things to lots of people." He says noncommittally.

Michi nods "Y-yeah...you seem to have a lot of people l-living here. I...didn't even know that actually." The canine downs the rest of his drink. "Y-you know what I mean, Niles." Pouting a bit, he looks down into his now empty glass. "I'd rest easier...knowing my kids will learn something, and n-not have to travel as for to do so."

The hound snickers softly, then looks at the clock. Well, if anyone else wanted to come around, they would have been here by now. Reaching out, the hound grabs a half-filled wine glass and clears his throat, before speaking out loudly "Everyone! I want to thank you for coming by, and for supporting the school with what you've given. Every last freecred will go to improving things there, I will make sure of that personally! For now though, please enjoy yourselves, fee free to explore the estate if you'd like. I made a personal promise to myself that I would add 20% to the total sum of the winnings, so..."

• beep* his comm unit chymes, confirming another cred transaction from the hound's own coffers, the actual amount undisclosed. "Months, weeks, maybe mere days from now, Fairhaven's youth will have a safe environment in which to study and grow, build upon that which their parents have, and make the world a better place. Today, thanks to you, yes, YOU, we've taken a step in the right direction. It might not seem like a lot! But every little step matters." Raising his glass up to salute everyone in the room, Otto downs the drink in one swig, then tosses it behind his back, the glass shattering on the ground behind him. He traces Renaria as she wanders back upstairs, taking a note to join her later.

Ebreus nods, "Yeah that is interesting that we haven't met. Who have you met who lives here, one a more permanent basis?" he asks Niles. Listening to the announcement made by the other Hellhound he smiles and begins an applause seeing the amount that he had donated.

"Nobody, really." Niles says to Eb. "If Otto's not in it regularly, I don't care about rooms in this place." He rolls his eyes and gives a half-hearted toast with the cup in his hand as Otto gives his speech. At the mention that all the rooms are open to the public, Niles looks around. "I dunno, maybe now would be a good time to start exploring."

Michi sets his glass down and adds to the applause, wearing a proud smile. "And t-than you for being a fantastic host." The husky just leaves Ebreus and Niles to mingle, seeing that they had something to talk about, so Michi just stay at his table for now, nibbling at snacks.

With the announcement, Maya nods. "I think this might be the point where I take my leave. Thank you for hosting, and I hope you have a wonderful evening."
