Adrien/Introduction

On the first New Years morning following P-Day was born a boy. A human boy, born to human parents, in lands previously considered part of Washington State, U.S.A. A group of RSX researchers ended up the wards for this boy, named him Adrien, and chose him for an experiment to maintain form and humanity. Baby Adrien was injected with experimental nanites in the hope of crafting a human being adept in nanite usage and superior biology.
In many ways, the experiment was considered a fantastic success. Adrien kept human form, but gained infection resistance, an innate nanite-boosted biology, and a resistance to the lust which affected most people with non-human biology. As the young Adrien's wards, the RSX cohort raised him and educated him, and he grew to love the sciences while being adept at many other skills.
As time went on, however, Adrien realized some things. One was that he appeared to continue living as an experiment; someone who was treated well and loved, but was also restricted in choices and independence by his 'parents'. Another was that his nanite enhancements came with nanite dependence; he would forever need nanites to be healthy.
Adrien devoted his life to the medical and biological sciences in an attempt to understand not just the nanites and new peoples of the world, but also himself. During these studies he also learned that the treatment has had another side effect he doesn't fully understand yet - his nanites are biased against the Y-chromosome and all related mutations... and are slowly turning him female.
Following these revelations and frustrations, Adrien left a note that he was leaving to find his way in the world and secreted away to California to start anew. He travels around investigating, learning, and helping others. He was introduced to Clairmont, and has started working there and looking for a place to settle down in the town.
Adrien works to develop ideas around how the nanites work at the biochemical and cellular levels within the body, and wants to turn these into actionable science in order to help people. As a result of his background, he considered himself a non-human, even when appearing fully human, and as such does not hold bias against other forms (though he is naive to the variation in the real world). He is dedicated to free will and choice, and in that regard wants to help people medically and educationally. He hopes that his research will help ferals choose their own actions and not have them dictated to them as well as and help people control their form.
