Several armed and armored Zephyr agents stand in front of a rundown apartment building. The neighborhood around said building isn't in the best shape either. The agents appear to be equipped like a SWAT team; carbine rifles and body armor. One stands off from the rest, a broad shouldered non-mutant watching for arrivals. Cigar in his mouth, the man stares over the menagerie of agents he seems to be presiding over.

Menil heads in covered in heavy armor, as he usually does outside the secure areas of Zephyr and the other factions. He fiddles with the straps a little bit as he walks up to the other Zephyr agents, not a weapon seen on him, just a somewhat dingy looking backpack on his back. Glancing over the group, his attention focuses on the broad shouldered man to the side, heading over to him as he seems to be the one in charge.

It had been a while since Edel had anything fancy to do, or had taken a job from Zephyr. Deciding on a whim that today would be a fun day for doing such, she decides to make her way there. Wearing the form of a white-furred wolf today, the woman approaches the official-looking bloke at a fairly relaxed pace, the slinky black dress she was wearing swaying around her knees as she went. "Hellooo! Is this the place?" She asks, resting her arm on the pommel of her sword.

She hated being on loan, even more so to Zephyr of all people. Why did RSX keep throwing her out to the dogs. Maybe because she was a dog... in either case Sasha flutters her way over and down, folding her pink butterfly wings behind her. She was thankful for a few things that Z was able to pull off, her business suit not only covering her up, but making impossible to tell what she had under it. It really was a marvel. Strapped to her side, her laser pistol, and everywhere she walked a felling of impending doom followed. Once she's landed, she looks casually to the Zephyr agents, "So, what exactly are we doing here?"

Benjamin looks at the group from across the street, still considering if he should risk working with Zephyr. The catboi wore a heave concrete grey cloak that looked like it was meant to keep him warm in rainy conditions, while under that he wore a thick lether vest with a silk skirt keeping what little modesty he cared to keep. On his back is a pack that was made up of lots of batteries strapped together and wired into the gatling lazer that was hooked to the side of the pack. With a sigh he walks up to the group and listens in, not speaking up unless directly addressed.

Fenris saunters easily down the street, a small, contented smile on his tanuki face. He waddles to a stop next to the gathered agents. "Hi!" he says affably, "Anything I can help with?" He has no love for Zephyr, but he didn't mind being helpful.

The man in charge takes the cigar from his mouth, looking over the volunteers who answered his call. "Thanks for the help. We're here to grab some asshole who thinks it's funny to shoot random people on the street. Zephyr, RSX, Prometheans... Far as we can tell he isn't feral. Just likes hurting people, apparently. These guys..." The man gestures to the team behind him. "...Are too scared to run in there and get him." One of the other agents calls out to him: "They don't pay me enough to get shot, Dick." Prompting a scowl from the leader. "See? Undisciplined assholes. Moving on... We know he's on the fourth floor on the east side." "West side." "Right, er, west side. Don't know which room."

Menil quirks a brow when he mentions the other agent being too scared. He glances over at the other assembled agents, then back at the non-mutant with the cigar. "So... just run in and grab him, that's it? Ah. Do you know what sort of gun he's using, or caliber or power of it? Curious how well it would penetrate armor," he asks, tapping one of the ballistic plates on the suit he's wearing.

Edel wasn't wearing any armour of her own! Or at least didn't appear to be. Who knew what kind of nanite shenanigans were going on with her, but at least the lady looked stylish. "Hmm... Fourth floor, west side. Seems straight forward enough. We just waltz in there, grab him, and bring him out?" She glances over the building, looking for any windows that might provide a sneaky entrance.

Sasha shakes her head a bit, she couldn't believe this. Looking over to Edel primarily, leaning over to whisper to her fellow canine. Wings unfold behind her a moment, shivering a bit before she folds them back up. "So, just some ass hat with a gun, not sure why you all are so afraid of bullets of all things, but whatever." She says, walking up to the front entrance, examining it a moment to see just how structually unsound this building is.

The catboi growls under his breath, suddenly glad that he decided to join in on this mission. Benji lets out a sigh as he looks over the ones who had refused to go in, angry yet sympathetic with them as he knew all too well how painful getting shot up was. The cat reaches around himself and unhooks the gatling lazor from the power pack and hefts it with both hands. Remaining silent, Benji waited to hear what kind of firepower they were going up against, that kind of infor was important.

"Sure! Sure!" Fenris says, the affable smile never leaving his face, "No worries! We'll have him out here for you in no time!" The tubby tanuki tips his bamboo hat onto his head and unsheathes his sword from his back, its leaf token jangling against the hilt. Then, with a genial nod and a flourish of his long coat he trots gamely to the front door of the building. "Fourth floor!" he calls back, "West side!" Not the least bit interested in the specs, Fenris is prepared to just wing it!

"Yes, yes, we all know bullets are rarely fatal now. They still hurt. Being hurt is unpleasant." The man takes another drag from his cigar. "Just get in, grab him, get out. Don't care much what kind of shape he's in really. Breathing, broken, headless... Don't care." He speaks to the group as a whole, not focusing on anyone in particular. "As for what kind of gun, a shotgun of some kind. And in a small environment like an apartment; just don't get your heads blown off and you'll be fine. We have a sniper watching the windows, but the bastards' got curtains up."

Menil looks over on the building, before glancing around. "Right. East side of the building then," he notes, with a nod. "Thanks for your help," he says to the man, neglecting to specifically point out his mistake. He ponders briefly, before focusing on the nanites in him, shifting suddenly to a quadrupedal draconic form. Thankfully the armor and backpack on him seems to adjust quite easily to the change in shape and size. He looks over at the others, asking, "So any of you have specific ideas, or just go in?"

Edel flashes a little grin to Sasha and nods. "Right? Ah well. Time to show them how it's done, then, I guess." With a flick of her thumb, she disengages the safety on the scabbard of her sword and starts shuffling towards the building, gesturing up to a window. "I say we take advantage of those open windows and use them. Perhaps look for a roof access?" She asks, fanning her wings a little. "All kinds of ways to approach this."

Sasha sighs a moment, afraid of getting hurt. Well. She unfolds her wings and flutters up to a window, looking in before going inside. She crouches down, listening. She is on the east side of course, but this would make for an easy approch from the inside. Should others wish to follow or come from a different way, she doesn't much care. Coming from more than one way could have advantages.

Benjamin growls softly, suddenly feeling unpleasently paranoid about the situation. 'How was this guy shooting people with a shotgun from an appartment?' He thought as he looked up at the building. Things were not matching up with what the man with the cigar man was saying and the more Benji thought about the more his paranoia grew. The cat sends a distrustful gaze towards the leader as he followed the others into the building.

Fenris enters the building through the front door, keeping at an easy trot despite his, well, comfortable physique. Must be a tanuki thing. After his brief look at the outside of the building, he turns his path to the EAST seeing as there was nowhere on the West side of the building for a gunman to hide from a sniper. Really? Not knowing East from West? Some people. The tubby tanuki keeps his eyes open and his sword handy as he looks for the stairs. No reason to fall prey to a trap just because he wanted to move fast! Strangely, the big coondog starts to hum a little tune to himself as he trots along.

The cigar smoking man clarifies to the catboi: "He doesn't shoot from the apartment. Runs up on people in the street." He turns towards those who already headed to the building, says: "Good luck."

Sasha managed to get into one of the rooms on the correct side of the building; passing straight through a curtain as every window on that side was curtained. The room she entered appears to be a kitchen; food left out on a small table, surprisingly clean, given the surrounding environment.

Those who enter the lobby are greeted with a staircase immediately to the right, several doors along the left wall. The building has refuse strewn about, seems mostly abandoned.

The building, judging by how high the fourth floor was, appears to have seven floors.

Menil would facepalm, if not for a draconic snout being terribly illsuited for such. "Right then." She glances at Edel and Benjamin. "Ah... you with the wings come with me to the roof and we can enter from the west side," she jabs a finger at Edel, "And the feline can catch up to those entering from the ground?" She flexes her wings, flapping them testingly once, before taking a running start from the ground and slowly climbing on the west side up towards the roof of the building.

Edel gives a hand wiggle at Menil and smiles. "Sort of like that! You take the roof, I'll take the fourth floor. We can regroup, and potentially catch him in the middle of us all," she says fanning her wings again to launch herself up towards one of the open, curtain-less windows on the west side of the building.

Sasha slinks along a bit, heading toward the door out of the kitchen. She looks about, making sure no one is here with her before progressing on, looking for the way into the fourth floor hallway. She pulls out her laser pistol, one finger on the safety, one on the trigger as she gets ready.

Benjamin doubles his pace to catch up with the group coming from the ground floor, then once out of earshot of those outside voices his concerns. "I think that those men are hiding something, too many inconsistancies in his story. We should watch our backs." He says as he takes up the rear position as they begin the acent up the stairs.

Fenris jogs gamely up the stairs. Sure they were likely to be trapped, but that meant that the trap would not be a surprise. It was the surprising traps that were most unpleasant. "Oh," the tanuki says at Benjamin's observation, "that is quite an accustation! And probably true!" No love lost between Fenris and Zephyr.

The pair making their way up the stairs encounter no difficulty all the way to the third floor. Same amount of disrepair as the lower floors, same number of apartments on each floor. That is, two on eache side of the floor.

Edel ends up in a bare, mostly empty bedroom as she enters the window. Broken glass on the floor, door open leading to another bare room.

Menil makes it to the roof with no trouble; a door likely leading to a staircase is the only thing on the roof worth mentioning.

The room Sasha is in seems like it has been lived in recently, food left out similarly to the kitchen. Worth noting are the shotgun shells lying on the floor.

Menil swiftly opens the door, then squeezes in through the doorframe with some trouble. She frowns a bit, not quite expecting so much trouble, although she doesn't have much experience in the form... hmmm. She remembers most mutations heightened sense of smell, and proceeds on down the staircase, trying to smell a recent scent of someone passing through that might be the guy they're looking for.

Edel slips into the windows without much difficulty, given her size. A frown comes to her face as her paws crunch down on the class, though. It wasn't particularly painful on the tough pads, but it wasn't very stealth, either! She narrows her eyes and drops into a ready stance, as if expecting something to jump out of her. When nothing does, though, she relaxes a little, but keeps her hand hovering near the hilt of her blade, ready for a quick draw as she sweeps the room briefly with her eyes before moving towards the door.

Sasha looks about, not entirely liking what she was seeing. Seems this room was recently used, and quite a bit. She thinks about it, using the comms might not be a good idea, faction comms would be best. Though she wasn't sure if there was another RSXer there with her. Looking around, she decides to look around the corner into the hallway.

Benjamin is glad that none of the traps they pass are set off, they would be useful if the men outside decide to follow them in. As the two go up the stairs, the catboi decides to ask a question he had promised himself to ask if he ever met a Tanuki. "Hey, is it true that Tanuki can change the size of their testicals at will?" The cat turns to cover Fenris once they reached the fourth floor. "We should check all the rooms together, cautiously..."

"Tripwire!" Fenris whispers, that little smile never leaving his face, "Best to keep it down from here on out." The tanuki carefully steps over the wire and begins to pad carefully down the hall. It would be awful nice to have the element of surprise on their side. He turns to grin at Benjamin, indicating his own featureless groin. "Absolutely true," he says quietly before pressing a fuzzy ear against a door.

Menil arrives at another doorway, the bottom of the access staircase seems to have been used for janitor supplies; a mop, wet floor sign, cleaning products.

Edel stands in a bare living room, all of the furniture seems to have been moved out at some point before now. Only two doors from here, the kitchen off to her right is left open to the living room.

Looking around the wall into the hallway, if it can actually be called that, Sasha is met with the sight of a hole in the wall, leading into the next apartment over. A curtain is draped between the two rooms, obscuring her vision. There is obviously someone standing on the other side of it, walking towards her.

The fourth floor is cleaner than previous floors, which is why the tripwire and noisemaker was so obvious.
