[Science] Nuku barks, "SPOILERS INCOMING. Science off if you don't want huge spoilers on FS theme."

[Science] Nuku barks, "Alright, many years ago, before it all went to hell"

[Science] Nuku barks, "Zephyr and RSX had their hands on what would REVOLUTIONIZE the world, and were quite busy preparing a demonstration of it."

[Science] Nuku barks, "There were people in both companies that feared that this technology would see use primarily by rich people"

[Science] Nuku barks, "And the poor would be left to starve and die without the advantages of nanotech"

[Science] Nuku barks, "They hatched a, mostly stupid, idea to distribute some of this around to poor but talented programmers, so that it couldn't be entirely withheld from the public."

[Science] Nuku barks, "They would have been totally caught and arrested/fired."

[Science] Nuku barks, "While they were doing this, other agencies were learning of the amazing progress of the promethean nanites."

[Science] Nuku barks, "Foreign agents stole the technology pretty damn fast. They wanted it, they wanted it soooo bad, so they took it, yoink. Once they realized just how incredibly awful this was...."

[Science] Nuku barks, "They had their agent pose as one of the 'for the poor' employees."

[Science] Nuku barks, "Everyone is with me so far I hope?"

[Science] Nuku barks, "With the agent there to provide large amounts of bribe money and influence, the 'for the poor' employees were miraculously successful in deploying the nanite stations around the US to those talented, but poor, programmers."

[Science] Nuku barks, "Such a pity that most went out with a wee tiny bit of code that made them report back to 'home', elsewhere, awaiting the command...."

[Science] Nuku barks, "Then P day happened."

[Science] Nuku barks, "Can you see how this works? :D"

[Science] Nuku barks, "But, yea, the activation code came in across the internet, turned on all the 'bubbles', and everything went to hell."

[Science] Nuku barks, "Directed attacks took down the internet shortly after, with no one around at most sights to even try fighting back"

[Science] Nuku barks, "HOWEVER, they only, basically, turned them on. The local programmers did the actual programming, doing whatever they felt like doing."

[Science] Nuku barks, "In some cases, that programming wasn't even done..."

[Science] Nuku barks, "See las vegas"
