I dI decided to write a "little" guide to the game, putting the focus on builds, crafting and combat mostly. Hope it will help the players to get a better understanding of the game.

How can you play FS? Why bother using both Mushclients and browser?

You could use MushClients or use a browser or use the Direct Game Control (http://flexiblesurvival.com/telnet) in a browser, which is the same as you would be using a MushClient so pretty useful for those who don't want to install a client.

Why bother using both Mushclients and browser too?
Not all parts of the game are accessible from client on the other hand some parts are only accessible from browser. Some things like shops, markets are much more easily accessed from the browser, so instead of using commands to check what is were and navigate there in client you could buy the items with 1 or 2 click using browser.

What stats can you play with?

This is a short summary of what you can choose or change to make your character unique and mold it to your liking.
1. Factions
2. Merits/Perks/Flaws
3. Mutant Powers
4. Jobs
5. Classes, classes decides your Combat Skills
6. Professions, which sets the basic level of your Proficiencies
7. Leveling Proficiencies
9 Dedications and Dedications' items & Powers
10. Items
11. auto battle settings
What else have effects on your play?
+1. Your group/Guild
+2. Subscription
+3. Crafting factions
+4. Go for remorting or not.

Factions

You can read about them: http://wiki.flexiblesurvival.com/w/Category:Factions Sadly it's mostly just for RP, I haven't run across a situation when you gain something positive. On the side note if you become survivor (not member of the three factions you will need to eat edible salvage)

So what you must decide? Merits/Perks/Flaws

There are a few Perks only available at character generation. (Merits)

Which of them is notable?
Born Female and Born Male don't need explanation.
Virgin you should take it, there are quite a few badges around losing it or keeping it.
Prepackaged "You got infected before you were found and inoculated. You will start with infections chosen using the prepackage command." Basically, if you are using Client and type "prepackage" you will get transformed into a mutant depending on your faction. Why is it good? You will have mutant powers if you are not All natural. At the beginning, when you have just a few items, even a few mutant powers are a blessing to stay alive.

Prime fights

First thing a PSAS unit must be located in the area. Prime Specimen Attracting Station(PSAS unit) could be bought at the elit shop for 10 mako. But!!! in almost every area there is a PSAS unit already so you don't need to deal with it! How to check it, type "+haz" and under the monsters if there is "PSAS UNIT LOCATED" note, then there is one already in the area.

What you need for a prime fight?
1. Prime Specimen Primer, it cost 4 tokens at the token shop
2. some Freecred depending on the area level
3. infection vials from the feral
+1 a party!!!!

So what you do if you have it all?
0. Get to the area where the mutant is located and do the "+haz" check to make sure there is a "PSAS UNIT LOCATED", collect the vials or buy the vials from the shops. Get the PSP(Prime Specimen Primer) from the token shop.
1. Get together the party. Sent out a message in the LFG channel for it. (Prime hunts in ....., feral name, how many fights, how many people are there already in the party, what roles you are looking for, ect...)
2. Check the roles of your party at least one tank is a should have and a healer too, but that's more optional.
3. Buff up before the fight, give time for your party members to use they buffs so you won't waste time with it during the fight and they only have to renew it.
4. Mentor your party to the level of the field recommended level +2 with "partymentor <level>" command. (more notes about it in help party). Why should you do this? If you are to over leveled, then you won't get the boss vials if you are too low level the boss will have bonuses so the optimal setting is if you are just 2 level over the recommended level of the field. How to check it type "+haz" and under the field name there is "RECOMMENDED TRAINING LEVEL: ..-.." So be 2 level over the higher number.
4. Type "use <inventory number where your PSP is located>" and follow the instructions. Let the fight begin!

===TIPs:===
The maximum party size is 8 player with their summons ect... so a fight could get dragged out, be sure to calculate about 1/2h-1h per boss fight when you start it. useful commands:
With "party target=<target>" you could set your party's target so type "target party=Prime" to get your party members to target the prime and don't waste their main damage on the primes party.
Typing "help party" gives you many useful command and helps you with setting up the party. (pauto, pinvite, etc)
Should we have pets out for the combat?
Yes and no.
It depends on your party size and strength. Pets, child, egg, drones, etc (summons) counts in the party size so you'll have a stronger boss if they are summoned, so that's why most people don't like summons, but they are useful. If they are tanking summons or healing summons, than in my opinion you should have them summoned. If they are other type than it's a good question and depends on who brings them, there are classes, which buffs their summons and they could make them deadly.
The real cause you should consider bringing just healing and tanking summons: The fight won't get dragged out so much.

===Known small bugs and how to solve them===
1. Sometimes you just wait after the summoning and it seems like nothing is happening at the beginning. type "pauto" to set the party on auto, even when everyone is on auto the game has a hick up and waits "pauto" solves it.
