Nanomagic studies is separated into discrete 'disciplines'. To learn a discipline, simply study the most basic nanomagic of it. You may learn up to four disciplines. Learning nanomagic that relies on the basic tricks is not limited.

Special Cases:
- Pharmaceutical Nanomagic requires either Medical Nanomagic OR BioChemistry Nanomagic, both for full effect.
- Reproduction Nanomagic requires both Illusion Nanomagic AND Data Nanomagic.
- Suggestive Illusion Nanomagic requires both Illusion Nanomagic AND Dream Nanomagic.
- Tentacle Nanomagic requires either Medical Nanomagic OR Edible Nanomagic, both for full effect.
