It's the helicopter pad of RSX, and humans (and various partial-infected) are loading up a cargo heli with large cages and a few crates. One human female wearing a buisness dress is standing in the middle of the open, a name tag on her suit labled 'Jessica'. As she holds a clipboard and checks off items as they are added, she looks to be in charge of this opperation. She addresses the group after they all approach: "Need to do this efficiently and by-the-book. We are sending you all to capture a member of the wolf packmind, one that we've been tracking long enough to know where it can be ambushed with minimal chance of infection. Whatever you do don't get scratched by it, we can't help you survive once the nanites get in your system. Any questions?"

FINALLY! Adventure! Actual risky adventure. Gods, it's been so long since the fox had an opportunity to go someplace new and risk his life for the heck of it. Being an adrenaline junkie at heart, Magnus was right at home in such situations. The fox would bound from wall to wall, platform to platform, ruin to ruin, his hops massive as he does the next best thing to flying. Eventually, he'd tuck and roll, ending up at the helipad right in front of the human waiting for them. "It's a good day to get in trouble!" The fox yells out, then slams his chest with his clenched fists and yips ecstatically. It was a good day to be alive.

Water dripped down his fur from the rain he'd caught, his attire much the same, at least for the time being. He almost seemed unprepared, though as anyone who knew Magnus would tell, looks were deceiving. "Oh boy, OH BOY! I've wanted to see what this Oregonian thing was all about for so long now. I've read up on it, but hot diggity, is the information sparse. So that's it then, we bag a feral and... we're done?" He'd tilt his head, unsure if he wants to believe that's all they had to do. Then again, Zephyr had opted to hire a bunch of randoms, especially a factionless twat like Magnus to go on this expedition...

Striding up to the helipad wearing what at first glance one would be justified in mistaking for an officers uniform from late in the first World War...with a few obvious modifications Ebreus joins the group as the chopper is loaded, water rolling off his helmet. His mask hanging down about his neck he smiles at Jessica, "No problem. A simple grab... shouldn't be too rough." he pats the device slung to his side and continues, "Took some precautions just in case."

He shakes his head as Magnus seems so energetic, "Yep, the challenge is not taking any hits while doin' it. Their nanites are nasty stuff and the usual tricks don't work on 'em." he explains. Starting to check over his equipment he adds, "Though that doesn't mean nothing works on them."

The mostly human young doctor runs up to the platform and reports in. In her smart RSX grey uniform and carrying her collection of medical supplies. She checks each of her multitude of weapons to be sure each is battle hardened and ready. Miza nods to the RSX woman and stands next to the other in preparation. Another mission to add to her collection of and a lovely day to start it. She had heard mostly bad things about this Oregonian place but was ready to put herself on the line and hopefully increase her experience as a field medic. Miza smiles as the others get pumped, day ny idea about the pack strengths or weakness ma'am? Do they have a primary nesting area? Do we have any ordinance that will knock the target out at range.el She pops out her notebook and begins to take notes.

"Strengths and Weaknesses are what we are here to figure out, miss... Miza." The woman says while checking her clipboard. "The wolf Packmind we're tracking is far out from the server and isolated, so that's why we're going to ambush it there. Any ordinance you bring with you will help, but if it dies we leave empty-handed." The other RSX operatives finish loading the heli, Jessica putting away her clipboard. She then directs the volunteers and a few of the RSX operatives to get aboard and watches from the ground as the heli sets out to Oregon. The trip is short and uneventful being flown by helicopter, soon setting down in the overgrown track and field of a highschool centered in a small town. Like clockwork, the operatives disembark and begin setting up a temporary camp, all keeping a watchful eye for even the slightest glimpse of a packmind.

"It's a big wolf that shouldn't touch you. Smack it around and contain it, gotcha. Come on! Let's get going! We're not getting any younger!" the fennec yells out jovially "Or older, but you get my idea!" Passing by Miza, the fox gives the human a quick pinch on the ass and a wink before making a leap towards the chopper. Grabbing the upper edge of the open door, he swings inside and flops down onto one of the seats. "This baby have a minigun? Awww, woulda been sweet if we had a chopper with a fuckin' minigun as air support." he'd blow a raspberry, then move back towards the door, and dangle from the upper rim of its opening.

"We can't kill it? Well alright."

Once the chopper takes off, the fox is the first to start feeling uneasy in such a confined space. He'd swallow down hard every few moments and start to shiver, his eyes darting around before he finally unfastens his safety straps and hooks a thumb. "I'mma go grab a few breaths of air." he'd announce nonchalantly mid-flight, before dangling out the side of the chopper. His adhestive fingers grip with such intensity that not even the winds are capable of pushing him off.

Eventually, they'd near their destignation, and in a motion of either insanity, Magnus plucks what was a grapple shot from his pack with one quick swipe and detaches from the side of the copter. On his way down, he hooks the edge of his shot with the landing skid of the chopper, lowering himself down to the ground and detaching the hook before the machine even reaches the helipad below them. Reeling the hook back in, he'd put the device away and look around, rubbing his hands together.

Ebreus boards the chopper without further any flash or show only snickering lightly at how animated his comrade for the operation was.

Ebreus boards the chopper without further any flash or show only snickering lightly at how animated his comrade for the operation was. "Right no killing it... and ideally no it killing us." he says. Sitting unaffected by being confined inside the chopper the Hellhound checks over his equipment for the umpteenth time as was usual for him, passing the traveling time for an operating ensuring his gear was in perfect condition almost down to the microscopic level. "Be sure to get back in before we leave the bubble an' I turn on this jammer." he says as the Fennec exits the cabin, "Would hate to loose ya just to nanites being nuked all around us."

As they reach the destination, and doublechecking Magnus wasn't somewhere that his actions could potentially hurt the small fox, he flicks a switch on his device slung to his side and a small LED blinks on noting its active state, "The reports I've read on them seem to say these things're worth having for this sort of operation. Let's home they're accurate." he says as they land. Stepping out he adds, "Couldn't find much documentation of their body temp relative to surroundings... so we'll at least get a good record of that." he says as he blinks. His eyes opening with an infernal glow, his thermal vision active as he walks over to the edge of the building and scans for heat sources. "Damnble rain... don't get to far the water cuts into my thermal vision." he calls to his allies.

She hops a bit at the pinch but just shakes her head and giggles. Miza makes the chopper trip without much complaint or observation, just enjoying the ride. She giggles at Magnus as he climbs around on the copter, wondering if we'll have to pick him up on the return trip.

When we touch down, hopping out of the helicopter and straightening her skirt, Miza falls in line with the other volunteers. Her eyes scan the school for places for ambush or for setup, readying one of her laser rifles as she walks around the camp. She is wondering if the target say the chopper come in. Despite her attentiveness, her mind drifts to her surroundings. It's kind of sad, she thinks, kids used to play and run in these places, now they look like bombed out hellholes. The light rain adding to the macabre scene. Seeing the length they go for fortifications, she wonders if we'll be here a long time.

With camp set up an operative opens up a crate and starts assembling a cage, while another hands out tranq guns. The officer of the group appoaches the three volunteers and says "The Wolf we are going to capture visits this school once a week, travels the halls, then returns to the Wolves' usuall hunting grounds. Like clockwork. We have about 40 minutes before it shows up, so I'll give you an idea of where to lay an ambush." He goes on to describe the layout of the school and a few classroom hallways that makes for excelent opportunities.

"Gotcha. I can monkey my way up here." the fox would nod as he listens to the instructions of the head honcho officer. The vulpine's suggestion was to take an otherwise difficult perch, hard to reach and out of the way, but with a good line of sight to the beastie, such that he could take an effective shot if need be. "It's right around here, where the cafeteria used to be right?" Magnus asks, unsure exactly what to make of the plans. "Also if this thing is part of a packmind... I'm not the only one thinking that it's one thought away from asking for help, right? Might be a good idea to find a way to keep it from doing that. Just sayin'."

Ebreus nods as the description of the layout and rout is given, "Alright... I'll find a spot." he says as he notes down the finer details of their briefing. "You're right about that it's one mind and a lot of bodies... hell it's probably faster than one thought that it's calling for help... don't really need to send a though to tell you hands to work together, right?" he says. "Some mines or remote explosives would be good at the perimeter... in any case I hope the cake is chained to the chopper so we can flee quickly if need be." he says. After a few moments of looking around he finds a good spot near enough to where Magnus has set up his ambush, "Found a spot." he says and takes up a position giving him a view down a hallway along the Packmind's rout

Miza begins looking over the plans and watching the fox dart around, she points at places on the map, dedicate ill it be able to scent us if we change too much inside or be able to tell if there is a disturbance.el She looks as Ebreus points to a spot, nodding, decorative hat looks close quarters enough. Does it have access to a quick escape if we need to?el She looks at some of the winding halls and points out another place, within striking distance and reach of the other two, death 'll station myself here then.el Making sure it's downwind of the target.

The officer replies: "We're far enough out that any cry for help from the Wolf will still be 20 minutes away minimum, so as long as no one screws around we should be fine. As for changing anything around inside, just be careful. It hasn't interacted with any changes scouts have made when we were observing it for months, but as it's a packmind it's better safe than sorry."

With that in mind, the operatives get ready while the volunteers get into position. It's a long span of forboding silence while everyone waits for the Wolf to show up, and it arrives on time. The Wolf walks through the halls, stopping at a classroom and sitting down next to a desk in a back corner, silent. Its ears flick to some barely-noticed sound, but it doesn't leave its spot in the classroom.

"Pshaw, there've been prime hunts harder than this. Anyway, just don't charge that damn thing right in the face, I guess! Take care, folks!" the fox nods and bounds off to take his position. His bare fingers adhere to the verious surfaces of the school structure, as he wall-crawls and keeps out of the beastie's field of view. He would follow after it, breathless almost in his silent pursuit of the alien creature. It looked... much like anything else in the bubble. T'was hard to believe that this beastie was some sort of hivemind nanite mass by just looking at it, but it was. For the time being, the fox kept low, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. But... how?

Finding an opportune nook in the spot he said he'd take position, fixes his gasmask, and as the Wolf enters he carefully watches it as it moves to the classroom. Carefully the Hellhound looks around corners and into reflective surfaces as he quiets his breathing as much as he can to listen for movement anywhere that it isn't suppose to be. After a few moments of nothing he takes a measured and carefully quiet breath before taking aim at the Wolf. A few moments pass as he steadies himself and fires... fuck that was a lucky dodge. Moving right as the dart was loosed and now it knows something us up. The hound however for his part just returns to being, hopefully, obstructed from view as he readiest his next shot.

Miza keeping her head low and weapon at the ready she waits for the other to spring their attack, getting in an out of the way place but within distance to start firing. Crouching low and pushes her back up against the crumbling wall.

After hearing Ebreus let the first shot go, she pushes off from the corner and moves to take a shot. She carefully aims for a non-lethal leg shot with her rifle, hoping to maim and slow the beast. Her shot grazes the chair he's sitting in. She misses her shot and rolls back from line of sight, hearing him enrage and start to tear through the room.

The wolf knows it's under attack. It dashes between the desks and heads strait for the doorway, intending to fight it's way through. It leaps for Magnus, but his quick reflexes evade the Wolf and the Wolf starts running down the hall, intending to flee.

As though on instinct, the small fox makes a sharp dodge once he sees that barreling mass of nonsense rampage its way towards him. "God damn!" he'd growl, his cover compromised. That was too close for comfort. Once the beastie starts moving away, he'd grunt softly as he wall-crawls and makes a few leaps between the various surfaces. With the monster running down a straight hall, making the shot was easy enough. Long, serrated rope fires out of the handgun-like device in the fennec's arms, swinging and coiling around the monster's legs as it trips it over, entangling it in steel wire and at the very least causing it to collapse in its tracks. With his target down, the fox cuts the line and primes a new roll into the device, then draws a different pistol entirely and takes aim from a safe distance~

Shaking his head as he hears the wolf make a break for it the Hellhound emerges from his hiding place and bounding out the door into the hallway he again takes aim as his fennec companion fires a grappling line at the their quarry, "Nicely done." he remarks seeing it connect and then he takes aim again with the tranquilizer rifle. Taking a few steps closer he again fires his tranquilizer to see if he can't render the beasty unconscious.

She gives a little internal cheer as the target goes down. Reloading and leveling her rifle down the hallway as she take partial cover in a doorway. Miza gets ready to fire again if he doubles back on them. deals old and submitels she says in her sternest voice possible.

With the wolf entangled by a grapple line, it can't hope to dodge the tranq round now imbedded in its neck. It's struggle quickly ends, and it lies asleep in the school hallway. A quick comm to the RSX operatives notifying them of success prompts them to help the group get the unconsious Wolf back to the cage at the heli, and everyone begins packing back up quickly. "Alright people! We need to get moving now or we'll have to deal with a lot more than just one wolf!"

"Huh..." the fox looks almost disappointed. "Alright then. I'll uh, see you all at the helipad?" He'd glance around awkwardly, then shrug and hop his way out the nearest window, scaling the structures as he leaps and monkeys his way back to the helipad as promised. It was... a day?

Ebreus smiles in his gasmask as the wolf slowly stops struggling, "Awesome... might want to bind its mouth shut and limbs together." he says, "Last thing we need is a containment breach after catching it." As the RSX crew come to help with moving the KO'd beasty Ebreus watches it closely, ready to fire another dart... and failing that club it in the head with the gun, should it start moving again. Once back at the helipad with the finger safely in lockup he says, "Well... since that went so well and it's still a bit early for drinking how about a late lunch on me?" he offers his companions for the operation.

Miza moves back into the school room, looking for any indication of why the creature was making her way back here. She takes a quick look around, under and around the desk. 'Was it were she went to school?' 'Was she trying to remember the past?' thoughts run through her head. Seeing the love notes she makes a mental note to tell the researchers along with her filed RSX report. Maybe these creatures have a little a bit of themselves left to reach to. She heads back off to the chopper for evac.

And with that done, RSX ships the volunteers and the cargo back safely and without incident. A crucial component of the Packmind research has been aquired, and work can begin again.
