Eventually, he (now she) is adapting quickly to life in the mutated present, showing an aptitude for wanting to help others.

Guess some things never change.

General Appearance

Euoia has been wearing gothic lolita dresses and clothes since discovering a minor thing with various infections providing clothes. After experimenting with these, she has a reliable amount of clothing to wear to keep her adequately covered. Minor adjustments are made in them when she develops wings. Usually, she wears black white and purple with heavy amounts of ribbons and lace. She is also known to have a handkerchief made of satin bed sheets on her at all times.

Background

Born in New Holland, Pennsylvania, Eugene Augustus Underwood was the eldest child of two hippies that never stopped the free love of the 60s and 70s. The Underwoods lived a modest life in a small farm. Eugene Abigail Underwood (father) and Sara Flemming Underwood (mother) were actually a pair of eccentric rich folk who made more money then they could ever want to spend during the late 70s with the riches trickling down from Eugene Abigail's father, the late Edward Augustus Underwood's coal mining business.

Eugene's siblings number two girls, Elanor and Michelle, who both looked up to their brother as a dreamer for a bright future. Eugene went through public school, in spite of the rising homeschooling trend that had been slowly rising. After spending time on the wrestling team, he later went into acting, and was a major player in a few school plays. He also had a bi-monthly column in the paper, giving advice to the students of the school about various questions they might have. He graduated as valedictorian of his class, and went on to Massachusetts Institute of Technology to study robotics.

While studying robotics at MIT, he saw the rise of nanotechnology and shifted majors to go into nanotechnology research. While he wasn't a leading mind snagged into private industry for his skills, Eugene did stay on at MIT as a lab assistant and eventually graduated with a doctorate in Medical Engineering and Medical Physics with a specialization in nanotechnology.

When society decided to crumble due to the outbreak of the Prometheus virus, Eugene was in a secure, well stocked lab using remote nanites to alter rat dna to remove birth defects at a remote lab for InTech Pharmaceutical Research and Development. Eugene was working late at night when the outbreak occurred. Sealed in his lab, his research continued with no notice of what was going on until an android-like security guard started pounding on the sealed door. Eventually, the android guard found a way into the remote operations lab, and began infecting the lab rats before dying from massive internal problems.

Eugene used the remote operations lab to carefully dissect and analyze what happened to the guard from his sealed room. He tried to see if he could coax certain properties of the virus out of the guard without triggering a change in physiology... and had minor success. However, clean food and water supplies were running dreadfully low. Each scav run he would do turned up with less and less edible food and higher chances of running into infected. Lastly, the HazMat suit he was using started to develop a gash in it after his last scrubbing down from a trip outside. Eugene had no where else to turn to... and then he picked up a broadcast from Zephyr.

It took Eugene a few weeks to establish a satellite network connection with Zephyr's labs in Fairview. He was granted the Login name EU-OIA short for Eugene Underwood - Office of Internal Affairs. Through this network connection, he learned the fate of everything that happened outside, and offered to turn over his test subjects and the little research he had for a guarantee that he could continue trying to further what Zephyr was doing to find a cure or a temporary fix to buy more time for the long run. He admitted his food supplies were running out, and that he had one last test to run. A test on himself. As he hooked himself up to a distilled IV drip, he sighed and saw one last message on the screen. A thank you for the donation of his research notes and an assurance that they will send a force over to extract him.

Eugene woke up, barely remembering anything, scared of why he was hooked up to IVs, and uncertain of who he was. Memory of his name was removed by the nanites he was testing with... and the only clue he had was a login name when the extraction team blew open the secure lab's door, giving him a concussion. Later, he woke, memory of everything before the self-experimentation gone... and only one name for him imprinted in his mind.
