T'was the late afternoon on a Sunday of all things. The laziest of days for some, though for one fennec fox it'd be a day like any other. The week meant nothing to him, it was just a buncha names to give the days. He had no schedule and his work came whenever he saw fit. Today however, he'd be mixing pleasure with duty as one of the two present blokes, representing a group less known for their crime and more for their efforts in keeping Fairhaven's shadier spots under wraps.

The setting was fairly luxurious, floors washed and the air warm, soft melodies originating from the piano in the corner, where one small fennec girl was expertly showing off her skill on the keys. The bar was wide open, Jade ever-present with that familiar smile on her goo-girl face. There was a sign there that read "Free drinks today, courtesy of the hosts." And Magnus? He would be on one of the leather couches, where he'd be conversing with a german shepherd male about something indistinguishable.

Every so often, a canine in a black suit would wander through the room, and one was ever-present at the bar, holding a shot glass in his right hand, but not really using it all that much. The atmosphere was light, and at the door would be a husky girl with a charismatic smile and a lot of class, welcoming the guests and anticipating the arrival of the local law enforcement. She'd know them by the uniform, and cordially invite them to take a seat on the couch opposite Carter and Magnus.

The paperwork could wait. Someone wanting a bit of time with law enforcement and to discuss how to keep Fairhaven safer? That was much more important, important enough for her to give all but two officers the day off, the two remaining behind to record important calls, call her if something major happened, and to keep an eye on the lock up and evidence storage. Landing just outside, wings fluttering seemingly wildly to keep her heavy body airborn, CPT Sasha Arnswroth carefully wobbles and waddles her way into The Red Court, audibly sloshing from her plug state. "Good early evening, I hope I'm not late." She says, voice barked, carrying an air of authority. In her typical uniform, unfortunately unable to have the lower buttons done up, letting her extremely massive pregnant dome wobble about, Sasha carried with her her side arm, and judging by the under shirt and coverings of that belly, still in her body armor.

Carter leans back in his seat with a subtle creak of the leather beneath him, the sheppy idly resting his paws behind his head as he rests in the couch, eyes closing for the moment as he waits. Business was business, and a job was a job. He wears his usual gear, including an old button-up park ranger shirt. Letting out a growly sigh, he abandons his prior relaxing posture to instead snatch his now-sweating glass of whiskey on the rocks and deliver it to his lips for a sip, soon adopting a much more relaxed position atop the couch. He shares a few more words with the fennec just out of earshot, eyes turning towards the door to watch for their expected guests. Aaand there's the first of 'em.

That bark falls on some massive ears, and Magnus would place two fingers in his muzzle, whistling sharply to draw the officer's attention. He'd wave her over, and return his attention to Carter to continue his conversation. Should they be listened-in on, this is what would be heard: "So anyway, the panda turns around and says, "I BEARELY KNOW HER!"" Ah, a pun. The perfect way to start things. It was so bad that even Magnus looked embarassed. The fox raises his own shot glass and offers a toast to his companion. "Anyway, here's to the future right?"

Stepping into the hall the large Hellhound would survey the current situation, taking in the atmosphere but keeping a watchful eye on the hosts. Ebreus wasn't about to let something like this just happen... at least not without him there to observe and if necessary intervene. Hellhounds not being particularly inconspicuous there was little doubt he'd be seen, and by his own estimation likely recognized, he'd head to the bar... trying to look natural might help him not hold unwanted attention.

Lucas was curious to say the least about the invitation, and as Sasha's second in command he saw it as important to join this meeting of officers and people. Looking heavily pregnant, Lucas entered into the room behind Sasha. He scanned the room then gave an eyeroll and a nod. "Yes Lap, we do know him, no need to get all excited," he said quietly, with an exasperated sigh. He walked over to the bar and ordered himself, and Sasha, a drink, non-alcoholic, naturally, they were on duty.

Carter might as well have had all of his energy sapped by that terrible, unBEARable joke, but he endures it as best he can. He reluctantly lifts his glass up to give the Fennec's own a soft *clink* of a toast before knocking back the remaining contents of his whiskey. Setting the glass of ice cubes down on the arm of the couch. Resting one paw atop his knee, the Sheppy leans forwards in his seat and watches the people filter in. His expression remains rather neutral, though his ears fold down atop his head.

Lilia Lilia hadn't usually attended bars before. However, since joining the police force, she's learned that if she wants to meet new people and rise up in the ranks, going to bars, drinking, and fucking the other officers would have to become second nature. She orders a margarita and sits down next to Carter. "Nice to meet you, I'm Lilia. I'm new to the force!" she says in her usual bubbly attitude. Her bunny ears flicking up to be half bent and she sits on the edge of her seat.

Sasha takes the glass from Lucas, sipping from the juice cocktail as she drums upon her belly, still standing there, not entirely sure where she should sit or whom exactly she should talk to first. For a bit, just keeping a wary eye around, her wings flutting behind her. "Thank you Sergent, and thank you for being here. I assume the two still at the department were doing alright when you left, yes?" She asks, raising her brow, then, looking over to Magnus, her ears catching the whistle and he wave, "Hello, oh, Magnus, I remember you, you were at the training event my department held a while back. How have you been?" She asks, turning to the side to offer her hand.

Jade greets the newcomer at the bar with a soft smile and a friendly wave. "Well well well, I heard we had a gate to the fiery pit but I wouldn't believe it till I saw it. Guess there ain't no need to do that now. What can I getcha, hon?" her finger swings to the sign indicating all drinks were on the event host's tab. "Feel free to get fancy tonight. Ain't had a chance to try my tricks as of late! People just come in and order a beer or a vodka, never anything worth more than a glass and a twist of the wrist."

Magnus would cast Ebreus a nod, perhaps noticed, perhaps not, and then beckon Lucas over as well. Once he looks back at Carter, he'd give the shep a subtle light kick on the leg and huff, wiggling his ears to hint at him to straighten his up. Folding them down was an act of submissing, and they weren't here to take orders, but make offers. "Come on, man..." he'd whisper "So, we..." he's cut off whenLilia, a bunny girl of all things flops down right next to the shep. "Nice to meet ya." he'd offer the bunny woman a hand, then clear his throat, awaiting the others before they'd get to business.

Once Sasha does arrive, the fox offers her a seat across from them. "Been fine, have been pulling a few strings here and there, and now me and a comrade have come to do some to make some interesting offers. I mean..." He'd shrug lightly. "You didn't have to bring the whole team over here, I am glad to see Lucas too. I kinda prefer that you did though. Be nice that what is said today falls on many ears. Carter?" he'd give his partner the word.

The Sheppy on the couch with Mags watches Lilia's approach, quirking his brow when she moves to sit down next to him. The space offered to sit was opposite their couch, but he wasn't about to stop the bunner from having her fun. At least, not yet. For now, he simply nods his head in greeting. "Ma'am." the southern pup rumbles, casting the Fennec a -look- at the kick. Despite that, he does indeed straighten his posture, those ears standing back up atop his head. Alert n' proud. Them folded-back ears weren't submissive, nah. Uncomfortable, perhaps, but it no longer matters. When Sasha's up to bat, the Sheppy nods his head in greeting, but keeps relatively quiet. Seems his eyes were still taking in all of the new arrivals for the moment.

Lucas looks to Sasha and nods. "Yes Ma'am, they were doing just fine, perhaps a little less professional than I'd like, but they were doing just fine." He nods his head towards the couch and takes a sip of his drink. "Perhaps we should take a seat?" he said, almost as an encouragement, walking over to the couch and finding an open spot. He leans back a hand on his gravid dome as it jutted out before him, taking another sip of his drink. "Good to see you again Magnus," he said with a nod, then nodding again towards Carter.

Lilia is excited and is curious to figure out what the other officers are expecting to hear. (This will be my first chance to really present myself. I have to make sure I don't stumble through this meeting.) she thinks to herself. To take the edge off, she starts drinking her margarita and starts to feel fuzzy and good as the alcohol swishes down her throat.

Ebreus would smirk as the bartender comments on his form and orders something fairly non-descript. What he was drinking didn't really matter as he'd only be periodically sipping it as he monitored the situation. Ah, as expected noticed though it seems no serious attention was brought to him so he would continue his observation.

First making sure that her belly wouldn't get stuck if she did sit down, she sighs a bit wings fluttering, "I'd love to Sergent, and good to see you too Officer." She says over towards Lilia still holding her hand out, "As... much as I hate to admit it, I'm not going to be able to do as you suggest Sergent without a hand..." A request taken up and some assistance given to allow her to sit and relax, heaving a heavy sigh as she rests her belly. "Anyway, it was a bit of a slow Sunday, so we had the time, I've got a couple of officers keeping an eye on the precenct incase anything happens." She says, still keeping her eyes around the room, and hear ears swivelling.

The fennec would pause while everyone gets settled, his lips curliong around the shot glass in his hand, then the bottle of whiskey needed to refill it. He'd down another shot like it were air, then put the glass down onto the coaster on the table, upside down to indicate he was done drinking for now. Magnus casts a glance at the hellhound simply listening in from the background. "Hey, come sit with us!" he'd beckon, before turning around to rub his hands and glance around the room. "So! Carter, shall we get to it? I'll start I guess. Me and the good Shep here are representing a sort of... group, that has been existing in the underbelly as a kind of family unit, if you will. We help each other out, we look out for one another, and in the past... we've had to do a lot of things that in the old world would have been considered eeeehhh..." his hand wobbles "Shady. Lotta desperate folks out there, some thieves, some beggers. We did what we can to help them both, but I won't go into detail here. Carter and I organized this so we can... parley."

Since Carter's a kind idiot despite his current choice in employment, the Sheppy gets up to help Sasha down, offering a hand. Once all is said and done, the Sheppy takes a stride back towards his own couch and settles himself back down as well, resting the ankle of one leg atop the knee of the other. Resting a paw atop one of his knees, he leans forwards with a thoughtful hum. He glances over at the Fennec as he starts, expression hardening for a moment. It was business time, it'd seem. Clearing his throat, the Shep glances around at those in the meeting, motioning his free paw towards them. "The devil is in the details, and my employer thought it would be a good idea if you at large were privy to a few details our own digging has wrangled up." The Sheppy rumbles, eyes then turning to Sasha. "My employer's main interest is keeping people safe, and as you of all people should know, this place isn't exactly the safest. Recently, another group has been getting a lot bolder- A lot stronger." He pauses for the moment, glancing over the others.

Lilia sits there in her chair, her mouth agape, as she wonders if others are as flabbergasted as she is. She never would have thought a criminal organization is essentialy handing themselves over to the police and expecting a bargain. She looks at Sasha and sees no change in her demeanor. Lilia distracts herself some more by finishing the last of her margarita in the glass. She raises her hand for another.

Shaking his head, lightly, as he's directly called out Ebreus would approach the meeting he'd intended to observe. Since he was just directly invited he might as well make the most of it. He'd look between the two couches... he'd decide to stand for now. "The hyena gang, right?" he'd offer in response to Carter.

Sasha takes a moment to consider things, looking at her officer and her sergent a moment before rubbing again on her belly, heaving a content sigh, "I know, it is a lot safer than it was in years past, but has a long way to go. I might already be six years old, but I don't remember how it was in the old world exactly, but I know having a random feral run up, hump you, and steal your sandwich wasn't an everyday occurance for most people." She says, taking another sip of her drink, then reaching into her breast pocket to pull out a notepad and pen. She starts writing something down, "So, more... shady activity than the old world would have liked, but less harmful than this... other group would be I'm assuming?" She asks, giving a smile and nod to Carter for helping her to sit down, "Nothing dangerous to our fair city I'd assume, I'd hate for someone to cause such a ruckus as for it to not only be my job and duty to stop them, but... to also give me personal reasons to do so." She says, once more rubbing, patting, and murring at her belly, before continuing to write. "So," when Ebreus announces about a gang, Sasha stops a moment, heaving a sigh, "what exactly are you... proposing?" She asks as she rips the top piece of paper off of her note book, leans around and over so she can slide it towards Magnus.

Lucas's eyes narrow at Magnus and Carter and he sits up, or at least tried to, his belly keeping him from a more dexterous action. He growls at himself and grabs an armrest, repositioning himself slightly, the tools on his belt shifting as he did so, ears pinning back as he realized the growl was out loud. He clears his throat and rolls his shoulders back. He has little to offer verbally, choosing instead to listen, but he was starting to grow a little uneasy with the situation, his feral nature making his emotions a little more blatant than he'd like from subtle cues.

"Eyyup." Carter hums over to the Hellhound, stride unbroken. Using that as a natural stepping stone, he turns his eyes back to Sasha and the others. "The group I'm currently working for's as clean as a whistle when it comes to the new world, even with how it's developin'. You know how it is- People still steal, still fight, still screw other people over for their own profit... Or amusement. But hey, that's -Zephyr's- schtick. My employer's been building new businesses and opening them to the public, keeping the streets safe from ferals and gangs wherever his people walk. Recently, as -he- just suggested-" Carter rumbles, once more motioning his head towards Ebreus.

"The Hyenas have been growing in number recently. They ain't like they were before. -Now-, they've got hardware. Someone's been feeding them weapons and supplies. We don't know who's doing this, but we've been feeling the effects. Our people, and the other citizens at large just minding their own business on the streets have been getting hit, robbed, or kidnapped for God-knows-what a lot more than usual in the last month or so. However... We -might- just know where their next supply delivery is going to take place." The sheppy rumbles, nodding his head a couple of times.

Magnus reads the note and smiles softly. "Understand, that while we are extending an arm of friendship, we have every right to protect our freedom. Suffice it to say we've had some... uh..." the fox clears his throat and rubs his chin "Difficulties, in situations of negotiation in the past, so precautions were... needed this time." Once Ebreus speaks up, the fox nods. "Aye, there've been a lot of evils welling from those witless blighters, and they've been pestering a lot of the people we offer protection to. Now, understand that while we could deal with the problem ourselves, it is in our best interest to perhaps have the proper authorities backing us in these endeavors, lest we end up on the jailhouse list as well." His hand wobbles as the fennec struggles to put his vocabulary to proper use. He wasn't a very sharp cookie, so pretending to be one was straining. "We would be more than happy to make this a regular thing, feeding information to the people trained to deal with these sorts of situations rather than stepping into... vigilantism or something, but we need to be sure that you won't turn around and decide to try slapping cuffs on us once we've ceased being useful, you know?"

Lilia mumbles under her breath, "So they're going to do this regardless of what our answer is? They just want leverage and insurance that their people aren't gonna get arrested." Lilia wiggles uncomfortably in her seat as this meeting urns into one she was not expecting. Her margarita arrives at the table and she takes the glass into her hand. Her wiggling and the alcohol going through her makes he feel very warm and...wet? She smiles into her glass.

Lucas nods and relaxes slightly in his seat, offering a nod in response to the pair's sensible approach. "Well, making an effort to work with the proper authorities is better than vigilantism, yes. Not like there isn't already a rich history of confidential informants working with the police going far back," he says before finishing his drink. "Though I'll admit, this confession is making me a bit uneasy to say the least."

Sasha takes a deep breath for a moment, "Officer, please, temper your enthusiasum. Now is not the time, besides, you shouldn't be drinking in uniform regardless." She says, but always keeping one eye and ear upon Magnus, the other of each staying around the room. "Please, forgive the exuberance of the new blood. It is a fine thing you could do for our city, but I have to admit some trepidation of my own." She says, continuing to scribble down things on her notepad, giving a sharp YIP! though almost dropping her pen, and taking a few deep breaths as she rubs over her belly, "Shhhush... shhush..." she whispers to it before continuing to write, "I'm willing to bet based on what I've heard, that you have a... vested interest in making sure the city is safe for all generations as well, I think we can agree to that. However, I can't condone any illicit activities in my juisdiction." She says, finished writing again and once more carefully passing the paper over toward Magnus, "I'll have to ask that you stop any illegal activities you might be involved in before I can work with you in any offical capcities. Trust me, I understand the times we live in, but I we have to keep things above board and in the confines of the law." She says, huffing a bit and leaning back again, a smile as she regards her dome again.
