Note: Hotel Oblivion is northeast of Fairhaven, but only accessible via the overworld.

There's a mysterious figure in the entrance of the hotel. They aren't particularly interested in communicating at first, so you'll have to be persistent if you want this quest. If you manage to get their attention, they'll ask you to retrieve a trinket they left somewhere in the hotel, specifically in room 303.

Stage 1: Proving your worth

Make your way through the hotel to the third floor and locate the kitchen of room 303, and pick up the trinket (check trinket is the command you'll be looking for). Wait, you didn't think it'd be that easy did you? No, the trinket is guarded by some kind of advanced nanite programming based defence entity, and you're going to have to defeat it to get what you came for. It's a fairly tough fight, so bring your best weapons, armor, and maybe a couple of friends. It is doable single-handed though if you're persistent.

Spoiler: Additional rewards
The Electric Force of Nature you've just defeated drops a battery recipe, which is useful for crafting various tech-based devices.

Once you've succeeded, return the trinket to the mysterious figure, who will now be impressed by your abilities and become your new best friend.


Stage 2: Not impressed

Turns out the mysterious figure isn't easily impressed, but they do pay quite well. Come back when you're level 20+ (if you aren't already) and talk to them again to progress. Apparently having not been sufficiently impressed by you retrieving their trinket from hostile territory, they now want you to... retrieve another trinket from hostile territory... hmm.

It's around this point you may be asking yourself why you're risking your life to impress this person you've barely met and know nothing about, but presumably you have your reasons. Off to room 602 you go!

In a change from the usual fetch quest formula, this fight's actually quite a bit easier than the previous one - the force of nature defending the trinket is much weaker and doesn't hit as hard. Once again, head back to the mysterious figure and return the trinket.


Stage 3: This is a fetch quest isn't it...

You probably guessed this was coming, but the mysterious figure still isn't impressed and wants yet another trinket retrieving when you're level 30+. It's in room 805 this time - another moderate fight, another chat with the mysterious one, then on to stage four.


Stage 4: You'll have got the idea by now

Room 908 this time, although your mysterious taskmaster does say this is the last trinket, so maybe after this one they'll be convinced you're trustworthy enough to discuss... err... whatever it was you originally wanted to talk to them about.

It's a tougher fight this time as you're fighting the very earth itself! OK, slight exaggeration, but it's a lot stronger than the previous forces of nature you've been fighting, and this one regenerates health quite fast too. Once it's gone, back down to the lobby you go...


Finally, an explanation

Finally, you've proven your worth to the mysterious figure, and they're ready to tell you what's going on.

The explanation is fascinating, but not reproduced here for spoiler reasons. Suffice it to say that you're now on a mission to save the world. Why does that always seem to happen when you're just minding your own business? Anyway, now that you've collected all the macguffins trinkets, you have everything you need to banish the blackhole nanite beast hiding in mysterious room 666.
