Who could have foreseen that it would be raining when the group was to gather? Someone competent most likely, however this can not exactly be said about the people pushing to have their pet project finished as soon as possible, and one of them was indeed, a rather familiar hound standing where the highway ended, and the vast expanse of empty land stretched before them all.
Sitting in the driver's seat of a jeep with his legs hanging loosely out the side, Otto was merrily tending to his favorite time killing activity, fiddling with his laptop, safe from the light drizzle coming down on any unfortunate soul that happened to be walking around outside without some sort of protection. He awaits the willing scavengers eagerly, with a slightly annoyed expression on his face, and his comm unit on mute. Seems something had happened, but that was an entire story of its own...
Fenris does not seem to be particularly bothered by the rain as it drips from the wide brim of his white cowboy hat. The burly tanuki trots amiably along the road to where the Jeep waits.
"Someone said there was adventure to be had?" he asks as he draws level with the idling vehicle, adjusting the heavy, leather gun belt around his waist. There does not seem to be any gun in it, but it has several interesting pouches, and his sword and spear hang from the harness across his back.
Cameron had been curious about all this talk about power armour, having come up with several of her own in the past, plus she had been a huge nerd and looking like a space marine was a dream come true for one. So she had gathered up several of her things and set out to join the gather, her tail refusing to settle down at the prospect of fresh salvage.
She lands with a soft sound, white feathered wings giving one last little flap before they vanish into her back. With the leesser signal she figured they were soon to wake out of it and wings wouldn't work anyway. Seeing the two large guys already present she gave them both a small wave. "Hello! I am here to help." Her hand adjusting her pack strap idly.
Firecracker arrives shortly after the others, appropriately singing out, "I'm singin' in the rain! Just singin' in the rain! What a glorious feelin'! I'm happy again!" In she flies from above on her tiny pink pegawings, landing atop the jeep to look towards the others before shaking herself off like a dog, swinging her wings around in little arcs as water is sprayed all over. "Hiya peoples! Someone say something about adventure? I love adventure! I'm Firecracker! What're your names?!"
Out of bubble work was Phosphorus' specialty, her home element, almost. She arrives, moderately armored - vest, trousers, jacket, gloves, boots, helmet. She has a fair complement of weaponry, too, with a handgun tucked into a holster on the front of her vest, and a large revolver in a thigh holster, and the ever-present rifle hanging off to the side, in its straps. She has a large rucksack, probably containing a fair bit of survival gear, ammunition, and emergency rations.
The panda is seemly unaffected by the rain, rivulets dancing down her otherwise waterproofed gear. She wipes off a bit of water from the front of her helmet's face shield, already motioning to open the door of the jeep. "Lets get in, get out, aye?"
"Hi Fen." Otto greets once he spots the tanuki, in a dapper cowboy hat no less. "Sure, I guess you could call it that." he answers once more souls seem to swoop right in, on a pair of white angelic wings, no less! "Cammie, over here! Get in, get in! Damn this weather!" Otto waves for her to climb into the jeep as well. "Is anyone else coming?" he asks himself out loud, only to have his answer served immediately. Ah, there it was, that familiar cheery tone announcing... yep. "Hi Fire." Otto snickers and reaches out the front door to pluck the pony up by the tail and set her down within the vehicle, away from the frigid cascade. "That makes three! With Fire so tiny though, that leaves a seat empty." he hooks a thumb to the one remaining spot left in the jeep. "I did ask for three at most, but if someone else shows up, we'll take them! So, I'll be your d... oh!" the canine pauses and blinks as he spots another figure approaching. Ah, there she was! How could Phosphorus miss out on something outside the bubble? Well, she couldn't by the looks of things. "Officer Phosphorus, so glad you could join us." Otto winks, then waves her over to hop into the jeep as well.
"So! I will be your driver for the day, folks. We'll be heading out to explore a small town some ways away from here, there's a lot of shops and even a warehouse there. Reports suggest that there aren't many ferals in the area, though there have been sightings of wandering bandits and looters." the canine taps his forehead "Where there are looters, there's bound to be loot. My point though, I won't be coming with you, I'll just guard the jeep since if I lose this thing, it's gonna cost me an arm and a leg." the canine cringes softly and sighs "Anyway, I hope you know your electronics, cause that's mostly what we're after, yeah?"
He turns the ignition key, and revs the engine a few times. "Should be quiet, especially given the shitty weather, but keep an eye out and a weapon within reach, just in case." the canine warns, then tries to turn the AC on, but the blasted thing was busted. Go figure, right? Huffing to himself, he adjusts the mirrors, or what was left of them, and waits for everyone to get in so that they can head off.Fenris hauls himself into a seat, leaning a thick arm and his round face out the window. "Adventure!" he calls out jovially!
Cameron gave the large hound a little smile as she moved around the vehicle. "Hello Otto, always good to see you well." Thankfully the cat was wearing her usual hoodie, with the hood thrown up to keep her hair and ears nice and dry. The cat trying to get into the passanger seat if she could as she climbed into the jeep as well. "Sounds fair enough, would hate to have to walk back in this weather." Her hands setting her pack on the floor and lowering her hood to let her ears stretch and flick about freely. "Am all set."
Firecracker makes no objection to being plucked up by the tail and placed wherever she's put! Though she does then hop up onto the dashboard right above the steering wheel to get a better view of where they're going. "Hiya, Fenny! Hiya, Cammie! Hiya, Phossy! Hiya, Toey!" she greets each member of the group with a rapid waving of a foreleg before addressing Otto once again. "If we're goin' out to loot stuff, doesn't that mean we're the looters?" she asks with a tilt of her head.
Phosphorus wordlessly slips the pack off her shoulders as she fits herself in the jeep, wedging it behind the chair in front of her and unzipping one of the front pockets, withdrawing a small plastic box. She pulls the pistol out of her vest, hitting the release button to eject the magazine, and pulling on the slide to clear the chamber, pushing the spare round back into the magazine, beginning to disassemble the weapon and clean it. "Yes. We are scavenging. Necessary evil." The panda replies curtly to Firecracker, running a small brush down the barrel of the firearm.
With all four party members in the truck the hound closes the driver side door and steps on the gas, accelerating onward, to adventure! The familiar grounds disappear entirely behind the group as they navigate through the barren wasteland, though Otto does pull out his laptop with one arm and hand it to Cameron. "Cammie, play some funky beats for us, eh?" he flashes her a smile, unable to operate the damn thing while driving, and knowing the cat was familiar with computers. Well, so he recalled from when last they met, at least... "So! Before we arrive, do you folks have any questions?" the hound asks, thankful that they were at least somewhat comfortable in the jeep.
"You can always call it treasure hunting if that makes you happier," Fenris says amiably, holding his hat on with one hand as the wind whips his fur around. "What exactly are we looking for?" he asks Otto, finally leaning back inside the jeep, water dripping from his hat as the jeep gets up to speed, "And who exactly are we doing all this for?"
Cameron gave a small nod as she let the mouse cursor move around the laptop desk before finding the music player and loading up one of the hounds playlists. The cat definitely giving the list a quick browse over first though before picking one. "Yeah, is always a good idea to know what exactly the employer is wanting us to find, otherwise we might not get what they want or enough of what they desired." The cat making sure to keep the laptop in her lap as she turned to look at the others.
"Oh! Treasure hunting! Yaaay!" Firecracker cheers at the idea. "Who has the treasure map? Did anyone bring shovels? How about eyepatches? We can't have a piratey treasure hunt without eye patches! Or a peg leg!" Once the music comes on, the little pegapone quickly shifts attention to the song instead. "Oh! I know this one!" she chirps happily, singing along with the music and dancing on the dashboard, wigglin her booty all over the place as she struts about to the beat. "Come touch me like I'm an ordinaaaary maaan, have a look in my eeeyes! Underneath my skin there is a violence, it's got a gun in its haaands!"
"Oh! I know this one!" she chirps happily, singing along with the music and dancing on the dashboard, wigglin her booty all over the place as she hops about to the beat. "Carry on my wayward soOOoon! There'll be peace when you are doOOoone! Lay your weary head to reeEEeest! Don'tchu cry no mooooore!"
Phosphorus rolls her eyes once the music starts, instead narrowing her eyes and focusing on the ritual of weapon maintence. She carefully oils the moving parts, testing the spring, then fitting the slide back on, and racking it a few times to make sure everything is fitting together well. The panda slips the magazine in, pulls the slide once more, chambering a round, then sticking the firearm back into her chest holster. She sticks the cleaning kit back into her backpack, securely putting it back in place, and zips up the compartment once more.
"Motherboards. Well, generally any kind of high quality circuit boards, really." the hound shrugs "We'll spellunk the town and see what we find. Looters generally don't go for electronics so much as they do for provisions like food, water, medical supplies, ammo, weapons... but that's not what we are after. Also, strange that you folks don't already know this. Bah, my klutz of a partner must have not been specific enough..." the hound huffs dismissively and starts to jam out to the beat of the music. "Nice choice, Cam!" he smiles at her.
The distant shapes of buildings were coming into view. The area was reminiscent of a suburb, granted it was long since abandoned, many of the structures ruined and on the verge of collapsing, the roads unmaintained, cracked and overgrown, the houses long since looted, decrepit and emptied out entirely, much the same for the shops and stores, shattered windows and fallen doors hinting for the past presence of desperate souls looking for a way to survive. "Really reminds ya how fucked up things used to be, huh?" Otto notes with a touch of gloom as he lowers the speed and warns everyone, "Keep your eyes peeled for any potential targets, or dangers..."
Fenris plays his best air guitar in the back seat, since it seems that Firecracker has taken vocals. "BOW nownow NAOW! BOW naow naow NAOW! Ga digga dadigga da!" he sings along with the tinny computer speakers. Despite his wild gesticulations, he stays clear of Phosphorus and her delicate, potentially dangerous work.
The big tanuki stops his air guitar playing to look out at the ruins "What do you mean, used to be?" he asks, "As far as we know, big chunks of the world are just like this. I'm not really well connected, but I don't think we've heard much from-" he trails off and points a heavy paw toward a large building up ahead. "That one," he says, "Looks like one of those old RadioHut/Mister Computer tech places. That should have all sorts of stuff. Nothing a survivor out here would need or want inside, I'll bet."
Cameron gives a little shiver, the hair on her ears poofing out for just a moment before she gave her head a little shake. "Think the best course of action to find computers would be to look for any buildings with more then one floor to them. Chances are if it is a home or office with multiple stories, there is gonna be at least one computer. Either from a home office or a business office. The library could also be a good bet too." She then looks to see where the large coon was pointing and gave a small nod. That could work as well. Though could be more dangerous. "That is probably a sure shot. Though we should still be careful just in case. Never know if someone decided to hole up in it because people overlook its usefullness."
The moment their jeep leaves the comfort of the bubble, Firecracker erects a new minibubble with her Distributed and Nanite Manufacturing Nanomagics! At the same time! Then once they reach the city, she keeps her eyes nice and peeled as she looks around to all the new sights to see, zipping from one side of the jeep to the other rapidly as she works to see absolutely everything around her, pointing out each thing for everyone else to share in her enjoyment! "Oh look! Chili for only ninety nine cents! Oh! And buy one get one free CDs! Oh! And free trial male enhancement pills! Oh! And a couplea people in that alley! Oh! And a flower shop! Think they have any tasty flowers in there?" She presses her little face against the window, hooves to either side of her head and tail swishing around behind her excitedly as she focuses on the last thing.
"It won't go off unless I pull the trigger, you know." Phosphorus states, shooting a bit of a glance at Fenris. "A round has to be in the chamber, too, which it wasn't until the very end." The panda sighs, glancing out the window, at the warehouse, at the buildings. "The computer places are probably the best bet, aye. I guarantee we can find at least some form of circuit board, there. Perhaps even some sort of SoC." Finding an up-to-date GPU or CPU would definitely be a score.
The jeep halts with a light sway, and Otto gently takes his laptop back, putting it away and turning off the music. He turns off the engine and opens the door, stepping out into the light rain to look around. "Good catch, Fen." he nods, then primes his own weapons and casts a worried look around. "People in the alleys..." he sighs softly. "Okay, well, this looks like as good a spot as any to start. I'll stay with the jeep, as I said. You folks..." he shrugs and gestures towards the structure. "Get in, loot, get out, profit. Simple merc work. Stay safe, alright?" Now... how to get inside...
Fenris nods and heaves himself out of the back seat, standing for a moment to appreciate the building in front of him. He tips his hat back a little and sticks his thumbs in his belt. His belt buckle glints in the low light, showing off the stylized lettering that spells out 'BIG BOY.' "Nothing for it," he says, "And no point in waiting around!" The burly tanuki saunters off toward the front doors. First things first, he reaches out and just tries to tug them open.
Cameron grabs her pack when they roll to a stop. Her head giving a little nod before hoping out of the jeep as well. The kitty is quick to pull her hood up before scurrying towards the computer store. Her eyes narrowing as they glance into the darkened building. The cat letting her eyes take in what ever light is avaiable so she could see in the darkness. Making sure the large coon doesn't get murked while seeing if the door is locked, which very well might not be, never know how badly in a rush the owner had been to leave.
Firecracker shoots out the window to hover behind the tanuki as he tries the doors. When they don't open, she "Hmmmmms" aloud and begins looking for a secondary entrance! Up the little pegasus goes, looking down to the rooftop to see if there's any way to get inside. Not finding what she was looking for, she goes back down to regroup with the others. "Darn! No way to get in!"
"Where there's a will, there's a way." Phosphorus notes, stepping out of the vehicle while resecuring her pack around her shoulders. She approaches the door at a bit of a clip, tugging a... rather large revolver out of her thigh holster, pressing it against the door's lock, gun aiming downwards from the point of entry. This is a common tactic in door breaching -- when a shotgun isn't available, anyways. "You all may want to cover your ears." She warns, giving a brief delay before tugging the trigger.
BANG! The door shakes as the bullet makes short work of the locking mechanism. Weakened to the point of falling apart, all it would take is a firm shove to dismantle the lock and push the door open. Alas, all that noise, Otto looked on in the distance, shaking his head and sighing, now even more on alert than before. "I'm moving the jeep." he declares and climbs back in. "Next time try to be a little more subtle, we don't know who's here!" he adds, then grumbles something under his breath and starts the vehicle up "Fire a round in the air again and I'll come to pick you up. I'll be in the area." he announces through the open car window, then drives off somewhere safe. Odds were that if more gunfire is heard, he'd want to be there to evacuate his team anyway...
Fenris throws up his hands to cover his ears as he turns away from the door. He straightens up and looks at the ruined lock, frowning a bit. "Not how I would have done it," he admits, "But no use dwelling on it, right?"
The tanuki opens the door and strides in side before looking sadly over his shoulder. "Might have been nice to be able to lock up after, though," he observes, then turns his attention to the dim building interior.
Cameron flinches at the sound of her shooting the gun off. "Woah!" The cat jumping up to glare at the panda woman. Stomping over towards her and looking quite angry, even if the sight was a little humorous given her small size. "Thought you were suppose to be an expert on things soldiery?" Her hand then pointing towards the door. "Cause that was not. Where is your common sense?!" The kitty admonishing the panda for the foolish action. "Now all the shadowy figures Fire mentioned know we are here for sure. And you alerted anyone with an ear in a mile that we are here and ready to be jumped on for shiny new weapons and ammo." She then stormed after the large male. "And all it would have taken was some quiet finese." Hummphing a little as she followed him. "Could have opened it quietly too." Grumbling a little as she had the tools for such a thing in her pack.
Firecracker watches the gun as it goes off, not bothering to take the care to cover her ears in the process. The bright flash and loud noise has the pony blinking a few times to recover her sight. "IS IT JUST ME, OR IS IT -REALLY- RINGY IN HERE?" she asks REALLY LOUDLY, as she flies into the room to land atop Fenris' head and look around. Noting that's it's kinda really dark in here, she decides to fix the problem by looking for a light switch! Or maybe it's just kinda hard to see cause of that blinding light from a few seconds earlier... Who knows! Light switch looking-time anyway!
"Door breaching -is- a common tactic. For example, if we were clearing this, as soon as the lock's shot, flashbang goes in, everyong goes in after." Phosphorus notes, pushing open the cylinder and extracting the empty shell, and replacing it with a fresh one. "I think they knew we were here anyway. That jeep is a gas guzzler - the engine is loud, the wheels not exactly quiet. If anything, this bought us some time. They know we're armed - they'll be more hesitant to attack. Now, lets hurry up and get the boards and get out of here." She presses inside, starting to look about for what they need. If the building is dark, she goes ahead and summons a fair bit of light, with her own bit of nanomagic, while Fire is providing them with a bubble.
The interior is now dimly illuminated by the opening of the door, and the inside of an abandoned office building is visible. The wall flowers had long since died out, dust covering the ground and desks strewn about the various parts of the room. Sadly, not a single scrap of electronics is visible, merely basic furniture such as shelves, a water cooler, the desks mentioned previously, a few office chairs, a waiting sofa, some dusty old folders here and there... whoever owned this place packed up well and left only the bare bones. There are two doors in this room, one to the left of the entrance and one to the right, the left reading "Staff Lounge" and the right reading "Mt. Department".
Fenris absently wandere around the periphery of the room, tugging on closed shutters to let in somedaylight. He does not seem to mind his pony hat as he saunters over to the Mt. Department door and tries the handle.
Cameron shakes her head. Maybe, but the panda had just alerted everyone to where they were precisely, as that was much louder then the jeep. And she figured it was a lost cause to point out most people who have vehicles now adays are heavily armoured to keep them. After a moment she heads on over towards the door leading to the MT department. "Vesides, these things have been being eaten by idle nanites and time for the last decade. Wont take much to break it either." She then gives the Mt door a good yank open when she sees Fenris trying it. Totally helping!
While Fenris gets a boop in the snoot by an opening door, Firecracker hops off his head and onto Cameron's to avoid getting whacked as well. Seeing this room even darker than the last, she once again looks for a light switch to get this place illuminated! A short look around lets her see what she's looking for and she zips on over and flicks it up to get a little clicking noise, but no light! "Huh, let's try again!" she says, flicking it down and back up, this time shutting off her Manufacturing Nanomagic and turning on Light to brighten the room. "Ta-daa~!"
Phosphorus glances at Cameron with a raised eyebrow. "If it would make you feel more comfortable, I can set up a defensive perimeter. This is the only entrance, it seems, so I can easily watch it without a problem. Or... I can push forward through the staff room entrance and we can try to get this done quicker. I can do either, without a problem, and I have a few explosives to leave a nasty surprise -if- you're concerned about an ambush."
The interior of the maintainance department shows some promise, a few old towers visible here and there, likely old computers that were in the process of being repaired or cleaned, but just left there to rot. Thankfully, metal doesn't rot so easily, especially treated PC towers. The light that the pony provides is just enough to illuminate the room, though not much is really seen from just the doorframe, is it?
Fenris rubs his nose and looks around Cameron into the room. His ears perk up. "Hey look!" he says, "Computers!" He peers around and nudges the human forward. "Let's get to it."
Cameron wasn't all that hard to look around, or over for that matter, she was barely over four feet tall. She then gives the large guy a small nod. Though she soon turns towards the panda. "Do what ever. And laying traps may not be the best idea, we may need to come back here in the future." She then hurries into her room, a hand unlinging her pack so she can pull out a little black and grey box. "Shouldn't take too long to remove the boards that we need." The cat beginning to look over each machine to see what was useable and what was in too rough a shape for them to take back.
"Yeah! Computers!" Firecracker chips happily as she spots the assembled assemblies, then starting over in their direction to land atop one of the towers. "I don't see any mother boards around though... Or baby boards!" she says, searching around for those planks of wood!
Phosphorus sighs, following along back into the room. She peers at Firecracker, eyebrow raised, approaching the tiny equine and undoing the case's side panel beneath them, quickly unscrewing the thumb-screws on the desktop and pulling open the panel. "The motherboard is the largest board in the computer, see." The panda points at the actual motherboard in the case, blowing on the board and peering at the capacitors. "See these little circles? If they're bulging, the board is probably bad. This one looks alright, so, you'll want to unplug these cables, unscrew the points here..." Phosphorus, again, points to the points where the motherboard is mounted to the case, and where the cables tether the desktop to the board, "...and, then, pull it right off."
The group wanders into the room, each examining the various towers some more productive than others, though for one of these agents, it would be a reminder to always have a careful look and sniff before entering a new and unfamiliar area. As Cameron wanders deeper into the room, her keen senses give her a small window of opportunity to avoid the consequences of her carelessness, though too small a window, it would seem...
Behind one of the desks, and out of sight of the others, leaps a wild-eyed and raggedly clothed human, pouncing and lashing out at her with a knife. The blade aimed for her neck instead jabs deep into her shoulder! "FILTHY MUTANT SCUM!" the man shrieks, releasing his knife and drawing a gun from his pocket, he aims it at the closest mutant, Phosphorus. "GO AWAY! AWAY WITH YOUR FILTH! I'LL SHOOT, I SWEAR I'LL KILL ALL OF YOU!" he screams, his hand shaking, his state a frenzied panic as he takes a step back~
Fenris stops, a pleasant smile on his chubby face as he raises his hands. "I think we would all rather avoid any shooting, friend," he says amiably. The tubby tanuki practically radiates friendliness.
He does not lower his hands or advance, but turns his eyes to Cameron for a moment. "Miss Cameron," he says pleasantly, "Why don't you make your way back here, that wound could become quite serious and our new friend does not seem to much like company."
Cameron gasps as she falls backwards onto her rump. Thankfully though the wound wasn't life threaten for the moment. With a wince she held up her good hand to try and calm the frenzied human. "Woah... We mean you no harm!" Thankfully she appeared quite human as her ears were currently hidden beneath her hoodie. And thinking quick she opted to quickly changing it so she wasn't by hiding her tail in her hoodie as well. And like any good doctor she opts to leave the knife where it is for the moment. Knowing that it will just cause more damage if removed, especially if it has a serrated edge. She glances towards Fenris and gives a small nod before trying to crawl back towards him without triggering the man. Hopefully her very human appearance will make him feel bad for stabbing her. "I can treat it..." Her gaze casting warily to the paniced human.
Firecracker watches Phosphorus intently, listening to her instructions as she hangs her head over the side of the tower to follow her directions. Should be easy enough! Just find some more computers and open then and pull some wires and take the board thingy! Her ear then flicks at the sounds coming from a bit away, getting her to look up at the human shoving his knife into her friend! That just won't do at all!
Firecracker stands up tall on her hindlegs, facing the human with the gun as Cameron makes her way away from him on the ground. "Hey! Drop it right now! You don't wanna do anything stupid, do you?!" she shouts at him, pointing a foreleg directly at him and giving him quite the intimidating glare.
Phosphorus sighs, hands slightly up in front of her chest as she rolls to her feet. Her face-shield is still down, but she moves slowly to place herself in front of the others. She eyes his gun. A run of the mill 9x19. Probably civillian grade. The panda had trust in her armor - even her face would be protected. It was designed to shrug off a rifle round with a few broken ribs. The panda slowly walks towards the man with the gun, hands still 'up', to other side of her chest. She's keeping herself a target. "I think you have the wrong group." Phos states, calmly, steadily. She keeps approaching, slowly, steadily. She's not rushing, but she's certainly getting closer. "We're just here to grab some stuff, and leave. Nothing of value to you will be taken, I promise."
The man keeps trembling, now pointing the gun at Fenris. "I know your kind. Furry fucking liars... DON'T PLAY YOUR MIND GAMES WITH ME, JUST LEAVE!!!" he screams at the top of his lungs, a tear rolling down his cheek as he takes another step back "You're not gonna get another fucking warning." he tosses Firecracker a glance "And take your girl's toy with you, you fucking freaks-STAND BACK!!!" the man tenses up entirely once more, whatever Fenris had done now un-done by the others. "J-j-just take what you want and FUCK OFF!"
"Sure, sure," Fenris says soothingly, moving forward to stand by Phosphorus. "My friends here are just going to load up some okd computer parts," he says, easing himself down to sit on the ground, "And I'm going to make some tea."
He smiles up at the armored panda, "Thank you for your help," he says, "I imagine the others could use your supervision." He takes off his hat and fishes out a little box of tea bags. Replacing his hat, he produces his small pack from somewhere and starts to lay out a small kettle and a tin cup and even a pair of sealed water bottles. "I'll be fine with our new friend."
Cameron gives a small sigh seeing as things were calming down quite a bit now she opted on getting out of the room and out of the way of any Phosphorus inspired bullets as well. Once outside she pulled her pack to herself and pulled out a few things, namely a medpack. Then with a careful hand she began seeing to her wound. Which involved a scapel and lots of bandages. Thankfully though with her own powers of nano wizardry, she could mend it up quite quickly once the knife was removed from her shoulder.
Firecracker crosses her forelegs over her chest and flares her wings out wide, a whole 6 inches across fully unfurled. "I told you not to do anything stupid. Last warning. Drop it and take a seat with the tanuki." She simply stands there simmering with heat as she waits for Cameron to make her exit, no need to get her more hurt than she already is.
"I'm not moving as long as he's armed." Phosphorus attempts to whisper to Fenris, before glancing over at Firecracker, and rolled her eyes. "Right. Fuck it. Completely sorry about this, Fenris." The panda mutters under her breath, reaching on pyrotechnic nanomagic to cause a loud series of pops, sparks, and explosions behind the person. She waits for him to react, before quickly attempting to close the distance, knock his arm off to the side, and apply a swift punch to the throat, attempting to get him to the ground, and his arms behind his back. See, before, she would've just shot him...
The man falls to the ground, he struggles and kicks, putting up much more of a fight than expected given how famished he looked. Once he is immobile with his arms behind his back, he glares around the different faces in the room and croaks out "I won-crrh...go down, like my ff--rrrcghk-family... taking you ffrrckrs with me... burn in hell... frreaks!"
Phosphorus emits a very low growl, ears twerking as she hears the distinctive sound of a grenade pin being pulled. She quickly reaches a hand to her vest, pulling a small knife from underneath her pistol holster, yanking the man's arm out with her other hand, and quickly shoving her knife in the man's wrist, releasing the blade and wrestling the grenade from the nerve-dead hand. She pulls the man's arm with great force to throw him to the side, glancing around the room, quickly fixating on one of the many windows in the room, chucking the explosive out of the nearest window as hard as she can. She quickly goes back to attempting to restrain the man, her previously neutral gaze now hardened into one with furrowed eyebrows and a sharp frown. "Merde!" The panda exclaims.
The man shrieks and wails in pain, his deadened hand forcing tears to stream down his face. Without his pistol, and without his hand, he was broken. Weeping and grieving intensely for a few seconds before a thunderous gang shakes the room, shattering all the windows and making a crack in the wall. Phosphorus' throw had made the grenade bounce among the protective steel bars of the window, but thank the stars it'd bounced out and lost its inertia rather than coming back into the room. The shockwave mostly killed by the wall, the worst that happens is the noise forces everyone's ears to whistle for a while. That much noise was certain to attract a certain hound and the jeep he was driving, though. The poor man, meanwhile... he was restrained, muttering deranged apologies and whispering the name of someone called Sylvia over and over again... broken... hopeless and in a world of agony.
