Prime Specimens are tougher variants of everyday mutants, that can only be lured out with the help of a Prime Specimen Attracting Station. They currently come in four variants:

  • Strong: 50% DamageBuff, 16 Attack, 10 KnockdownResist
  • Fast: 10 Charge, 50 Haste, 25 Recharge, 25 Defense, 50 DebuffResist
  • Hardy: 5 DamageResist (level scaled), 50% MaxHP
  • Prickly: 12 EnergyDamageReturn, 25 PhysicalDamageReturn, 1 KnockdownResist

In order to summon one, you must obtain 12 (reduced by Legends Proficiency) infection vials of the target creature and a Prime Specimen Primer from the requisition/reward shop. A Prime Specimen Attracting Station must also be set up in the creature's area, though the stations are permanent and reusable. Using the primer will bring up a series of prompts that will lead to the appearance of a Prime.

Prime Specimens will appear at the higher of the area's maximum level. When defeated, they provide a badge, as well as a boss infection vial.

What this means is that a party should always mentor to the highest level possible to spawn monsters in the zone they are going to spawn a prime in. Keep in mind that you can still spawn monsters when you are 2 levels above the level requirment for a zone. So to get a bit of an advantage (since as previously mentioned, the prime spawns at the area's max level) one should aim to be at level max + 2. For example, if the level range of a zone is 25-32, the party should be mentored to 34.

Note: Possessing multiple summons (I.E: pets/minions or other such entities) will increase the difficulty of battles with prime specimens.

Boss Infection Vials

Boss infection vials can be used to fully infect the user in one go as well as grant mastery of the form. They're also needed to upgrade a power to epic level, and to level up past level 30.
