Zypher was kind enough to lease out their chopper for this mission, beinging with it all the volunteer agents as well as a small team of others. Landing carefully on some unbroken blacktop, the blades wind down. The commander turns to look at everyone. "Ok, the 5 of us will secure this point!" The Small Lioness says as shoulders her pack, "You volunteers, I want you all to go out there and make contact with the person who sent that message. Lets move everyone! And remember, there is no bubble here, so be careful. Any nanite powers you usually use will be very weakened. Use your wits and your gear until we know more. Lets move people lets move!" Outside the chopper is a ruined city, layed to waste by something long ago, though it seems that minor efforts to help rebuild have been started. The mid day sun beats down, unusual for this time of year.
Angus stepped out of the chopper with a frown across his muzzle, either way the situation wasn't good and the Coyote knew it as he nodded to the Feline. "You sure five is going to be enough?" He asked with all seriousness, already going through a mental checklist to make sure he had everything as he turned back to the ruined City.
Herma actually looked nervious, and... well sie was masturbating to deal with it apparently. The pegasus's knees quivered a bit and sie whimpered a bit as sie spoked, with a gurgling sound in hir loins "I-It's about the max I can cover with protein shield while outside the do-ooohhh-me, otherwise I'd cover 8." Herma nodded before sie stood off to the side, "Everyone line up for some protection"
Miora would glance around at the area, never having been this far out before, feeling her abilities and nanomagic a bit weaker than before, taking a deep breath she would glance to Selyra who was still on the chopper behind her, feeling a bit nervous about hte new area, but not as nervous as some, a small part of her excited as she clenches her medkit a bit tighter, having followed Selyra here and not backing out now.
The sight of Herma jacking off for half the ride puts at least one person off. Selyra steps out of the chopper behind Miora, edging herself away from the pegasus. "I... think I'm fine withOUT a 'shield'..." she says skeptically, ensuring she was likely outside of the lewd range. With the debriefing that they'd be leaving a bubble, she was sure to shrink her assets down to a more manageable size. Rather than her six watermelons and head-sized udder, she now possesses four D's and no udder, while her torso holster carries her rifles crossed on her back. Now off the chopper, she listens to the commander's words carefully before a nod of affirmation.
Edel pulls her goggles down over her eyes as she drops out of the helicopter. If she's nervous, she doesn't show it. At least not with her facial expressions. The rest of her body tells another story, though, from the way her tail twitches to the way her left arm rests on the hilt of her sword. "I'll pass on that, too, thanks." And with that, she shuffles slightly out of Herma's way.
Dio unstraps the shotgun attached to his back and brings it to his two hands before jumping out of the helicopter, a large whisper of weakness as the reality of being out of bubble sinks in. "Perhaps having a smaller team of qualified individuals is better than an army in this case." The semi-formally dressed silver lion draws his eyes upon the local coyote, wondering if Angus were to remember the 'mercy killing' performed upon him upon the last Oregon expedition. "You won't be doing that to me I'm afraid," he commands, moving out of the way and raising the shotgun to his shoulder.
"Gotcha, good luck out here.. Oregon ain't for the faint've heart!" Sara calls over her shoulder to the pilots offering to stay behind as she steps out of the helicopter, and makes her way away from Herma, making sure she's far out of the 'protection' sie had offered. Once far enough the dragoness reaches both clawed hands into the trench coat covering her, pulling two handguns from within. "So.. anyone know where this place is the radio mentioned? I unfortunately have no map on hand so.. well, I'm kinda blind here." as she speaks her hidden golden gaze watches the surroundings, making sure nothing can come out of hiding without her knowing about it. "God damn, I hate this place.." she can be heard mumbling as she waits.
Alkain shakes his head as he watches the ground pass below the helicopter and sighs, "I'm beginning to hate Oregon..." he shrugs as he looks to the others as he makes sure his equipment is ready, "I'll... Pass..." as he looks at Herma with a blush, "Anyway... I'm not sure either, I would need a map." as he moves out of the way of Herma's Protein Shield, hopefully
Edel scratches one of her ears and looks around, frowning. "I can't say I know where we're going, either. I've never been up this way before, myself."
The commander shakes her head and nods a few times "Good luck, less then half a click north should be your target. We will make sure to keep the chopper safe incase you need a quick exit. Again, be careful out there." Then she and her men start working to secure the chopper. Weapons are drawn out and ready, food distributed to everyone, water, and ammunition as well.
"Suit yourself everyone... But... you might not be far enough away..." Herma moaned as hir jizz coated herself for sure, and whoever was unlucky, with a protective layer of cum
"Sorry if you got any in the eyes"
Angus rolls his eyes at the commander and sighs. "Well...this should be intresting." He frowned, drawing one of his revovlers as he cocked back the hammer and turned to the city. Like everyone else he felt the effects of not being in he bubble, but this time it was different for him.. There was no more pain associated with it, as the nanites the gave his body extra protection were gone. "Everyone ready?" The coyote asked, turning to face the others.
"Less than half a click? Understood, thank you, sir!" Sara mentions as she looks over her shoulder to the commander and from there, towards the north her eyes squint and scan the horrizon for anything moving ahead, "Well, I guess we should move then. The less time I spend in this place, the better." and with that the woman begins to move forward, her pistols already held at the ready.
Miora would eep as she was unlucky, getting a good coating of cum on her, shuddering and trying to wipe off what she could. Eventually just giving up and falling in line behind everyone, not really eager to be the first into combat, having little more than her claws and teeth to attack with, although she made sure to bring plenty of bottled milk and medicine via Selyra's instructions.
Dio walks over to the various piles of supplies, searching for shotgun shells to strap to the side of his shotgun and a few in his pockets. "Can never be too careful," the lion murmurs under his breath. The shotgun draws upwards to his eyes as they inspect and analyze, making sure everything is ship-shape. "I see some of you are veterans of the area." The lion starts a stride towards Sara, and then looks towards Angus once more. "Some more than others it would seem... But yes!" Dio clicks the safety off on his shotgun and begins heading forward. "Back into the hell hole!"
Edel flips a switch on her sword scabbard and presses a button. "As ready as I'm going to be for this, I think." She turns and begins trotting off after Dio. "Oh, some veterans will be lovely. I'm trusting you not to lead us into anything too terrible, yeah?" She gives a soft laugh and a shrug. "I might hold it against you, if you do, you know!" she teases.
Alkain nods to the commander and looks around, "Ok... North it is then..." he chuckles at Angus and nods, "As I'll ever be I guess..." then Herma blows and covers him in a layer of sticky cum, "GAH!" he shakes his head and wipes cum from his eyelids, "This isn't going to be my day is it?" he looks at Miora and shrugs a little, "Ah well..."
To the north is one of the few standing buildings left, a large court house. It has been reinforced many many times over, and even then, it looks very much worse for wair. Those with keen eyes would be able to spot a couple of guards standing atop it, humans! Unmutated humans! They are moving around back and forth, though one keeps an eye on the chopper landing point and the people accumulated there.
Nodding once more to the commander, Selyra keeps a careful eye on Herma's projection. A wince shows on her face at the sight of it covering Miora, feeling sorry for the poor girl. Now that it's over, she inches her way back towards her husky mate, voicing a quick and pity-induced apology before her attention returns to the majority of the group. "I myself don't have a map... but we'll be fine, I think." she says assuringly, reaching her paws back to draw her sniper rifle from her back and hold it close to herself for now. Looking at Dio and Edel, she hears them talk about experience with the location, of which she herself has never visited. "It's my first time, I..." she trails off, the humans occupying the courthouse in the distance catching her keen eyes.
"Hold up.." Sara mentions as she drops to a knee and sticks to the shadows, trying to remain unseen from the people ahead. Once secure she pulls a pair of binoculars from a satchel at her side and looks through it towards the figures in the window, looking to see if they're moving of their own volition. "We've got a couple humans in the building, think they're friendly?" she asks over her shoulder.
Angus nodded lightly To dio as he looked towards him. "North it is then..." He muttered to Alkain with a smile before he started to walk. "Don't worry, we know what we are doing...mostly." He commented to Edel, stopping in his tracks as he hears Selyra trail off and Sara tells them to stop. "Could be friendly, but we should still be cautious." He commented to Sara, keeping his gun drawn on the location of the guards as he stands there.
Alkain hmms at the building and nods, "I'm guessing that's where we want to go." he looks at Sely and smiles, "My second since P-Day really." he sighs as he looks around, "Welcome home..." he mumbles to himself and shakes his head, he hmms? at Sara and blinks as he looks to the house again, "I hope they are..."
"When it comes to this place ma'am," Dio chuckles despite the dark subject, turning towards Edel with a forced smile. "I'm afraid that promise can't be kept. Teamwork and communication is key. Expect the worse. Hopefully we'll be able to return to your teahouse safe and sound!" The lion turns his attention towards the courthouse. "You see humans up there, do you?" He squints in an attempt to pick something out. "Awfully strange how they've managed to survive this long. Have they even been attacked? It's strange but... Could this be a trap somehow?"
As the humans continue to make their rounds about the courthouse roof, one of them spots Sara watching them, they wave and quickly pick up an old voice amplifying mic and speaker, "Are you from another city? You don't look native to these parts! Have... have you come to help us? Please, hurry up and get behind the gates if you have! Who knows when they will be back!" Comes a very male voice out of the speaker box. The others turn quickly and start looking themselves.
Miora Miora would of stayed back behind Selyra, making sure to stick close to her but still not wanting to the first into a fight, having little to no capability in a fight beyond her own teeth and claws. Looking over Selyra's Shoulder she would give a small whimper, not really knowing what was to come and a small part of her nerves a bit scared to be without her more powerful healing abilities. Although at the loud voice her ears quickly flick back, soon taking a step foward, although it is hesitant soon another follows. "I dunno if it is or not, but they need help."
Edel smiles happily, ears perking. "I guess they might be friendly, then! Excellent!" The smile falters for a moment, and her eys narrow behind the goggles. "Unless it's a trap. But hopefully it won't be, eh?" She nods at Dio. "I know. I was just trying to lighten the mood."
Angus frowned and shakes his head, his revolver going back into its holster before he brings out his hammer. "Alright, trap or not lets what they want." Something was off, it felt just a little to easy....where were all the ferals, this was a city after all...
"They could be friendly, but let's get some details before we put our lives on the line." Dio turns around on his heels and begins a walk towards the supplies. "Let's see, let's see..." he continues to chant, shifting through various boxes until he pulls out a megaphone. "Ah, perfect! You there," he points at one of the chopper personnel, "Prepare some supplies for transfer so we don't waste anytime if they are friendly." Megaphone in hand, the lion takes a position next to the others and turns on the device, looking towards the courthouse. "Hello," his amplified voice booms, "We're the rescue party. I assume your group was the one who sent the signal? We're coming to help. Do you have any infected? Am I to assume 'they' are the packmind fingers?"
Selyra spends a good bit of time simply attempting to squint and watch them from where she was standing. The sound of the voice gives her a bit of a start, and begins a move towards something for cover, anything. But as Miora takes a step towards them, she stops herself and places a paw on her shoulder. "Miora... please love, be careful. It could be a trap and you'd be walking dead into a... I'd rather not think about it..." she mumbles to the husky, motioning for the two of them to take refuge behind a fractured wall of a building nearest to them, if available. "They could be friendly, but everyone stay alert!" she calls out just to be sure, even if they already suspected the same thing.
Herma nickers, "I don't see a reason for there to be a trap. We're not going to mutate their people and then kidnap them to be mares for our herd. No, we are civilized people that simply wish to romance the single, the polyamorous, and wouldn't dare bring anyone back unless they wanted a life of breast milk and sinful sexual orgies of their own free will."
Alkain blinks at the humans and hmms, "It is a little suspscious... But what choice do we have?" he blinks at Dio and winces, "Well, what else would it be?" he looks at Selyra with a nod, "I'll be as alert as I can." he eyes Herma a little and shakes his head, "If you say so." he chuckles a little
Miora would look to Dio and think for a second. "Uhm, if you want I can do the talking I am pretty good at getting on others good sides." she would say, usually being quite good at being sociable when not timid. It was only an offer but it was true, she was quite good when she didn't want to hide. "Just tell me what you want me to tell them and I can give it a shot."
"Huh.. guess that'll give us an answer." Sara says as she lowers the binoculars and returns them to the satchel on her person, "Alright, we're coming." the dragoness calls out to the courthouse, hoping they had heard her over the distance. With binoculars secured and the woman now on her feet she enters a brisk run towards the courthouse, and hopefully safety.
As Dio addresses them and then Sara starts to walk toward, an alarm sounds. "Oh no, quick close the gate! Get the guns ready! Their back, hurry up!" Before anyone can enter the gates are tightly sealed and barred up. That is when it can be heard. The sounds of many... many paws against the dusty ground. They come into view, many, many Feral Foxes, none of them hardly making a sound other their the sounds of their paws on the ground. They swarm about the build, and weapons begin firing! A large group of them break off and head toward the chopper as well as Dio's group!
As the largest comes into view everyone would feel suddenly... stronger? More able and capable? Like they did back home... back in Fairhaven!?
Selyra sighs and shakes her head, coming out of cover as everyone seems to be trusting the humans. She, for one, was not going to let her guard down. However, as the siren goes off and the swarm surrounds the building, her eyes widen. Ducking back into cover, she motions Miora over. "Miora! Get behind me!" she calls out to the husky, readying her sniper rifle and taking aim at the only one she can really see: the largest one. As the surge of energy travels through ehr body, she gets ready to fire if it gets another fifty feet closer to the group.
Miorna it up Dio, then another spoof.
Dio drops the megaphone to the ground, putting the shotgun to his shoulder and aiming at the large fox coming their way. "Hmm," he murmurs, "I wonder what kind of effect this will have on 'em. Might have one of those nanomagics that make bubbles..." After a bit of concentration, Dio activates his counter nanomagic, directing it towards the large fox. "Hope that worked! Prepare yourselves!"
As the large mini-spring is removed from its own bubble, the whole lot of them turn into piles of goop, which quickly start to bleed into the ground disappering. All the benefits and dangers there of gone. The humans in the fortified court house all stare as their greatest foes are destoryed in no time. They give a cheer! The, they pick up the mic again. "I don't know what you did stranger, but get in here and lets make plans to destory the lot of them!" He says as the gates are opened once more.
Alkain blinks at the siren and shakes his head, "Oh crap!" he gets his Mauser out to defend himself with as he aims for a fox, not firing until they get in range, at the feeling of the bubble he winces, "Great..."
Noticing the hoard of foxes baring down upon the group Sara's eyes go wide with terror, and her mouth drops into a gapeing expression, "Shit.." is all she mumbles a she grips her weapons tight. Atleast until that feeling of power, and the lashing of the parasite within flows through her, the dragoness oddly enough.. laughs, atleast for a moment before the feeling ebbs away to nothingness once more and the creature within returns to its dormant state while her expression again drops, "Shit.." she repeats as she points the two weapons towards the foxes and falls back, her pistols joining in with the sentry turrets hail of bullets.
Angus growls as as the foxes charge ahd the familar feeling of a bubble appears. "Damnit, why did I have to be right." He grumbled, a field of electricity coming to life around him as he readies his hammer...before that current sputters and dies, and before his eyes the Foxes are gooed. "....Well...shit, not bad." He...actually felt a little sympathy for the foxes as they were turned into streaks of goo on the ground, something that had happend to him once. "..Looks like you guys can handle this without me...I'll make sure you have a ride when you get back." Waving to the group he shouldered his hammer once more and walked back to the chopper.
Herma whinneys as sie felt like sie just got kicked in the nuts, punched in the breasts, and had dumbells straped to hir dicks and shoved into hir womb. Sie curled up into a ball and whimpered "ow" again and again.
Noticing the hoard of foxes baring down upon the group Sara's eyes go wide with terror, and her mouth drops into a gapeing expression, "Shit.." is all she mumbles a she grips her weapons tight. Atleast until that feeling of power, and the lashing of the parasite within flows through her, the dragoness oddly enough.. laughs, atleast for a moment before the feeling ebbs away to nothingness once more and the creature within returns to its dormant state while her expression again drops, "Shit.." she repeats as she points the two weapons towards the foxes and falls back, her pistols.. remain silent as she watches the creatures turn to goop, "Uh.. okay? Never seen 'em do that without a lil' help.." she muses as she looks to the departing Angus. "Uh.. stay safe over there!"
Edel frowns and draws her sword, adopting a ready stance as the blade crackles to life. "That's... Quite a few!" Apart from that, she doesn't do much. She's conserving her ammo, even if the supplies seem to be plenty. Even once the threat seems to have passed, she keeps her weapon drawn, seeming a little on edge.
Miora would eep and quickly of dived behind Selyra as she was told to do, but as all the foxes turn ot mush she can't help but watch and grimace some, feeling her stomach churn some, one of her hands coming to her mouth to keep herself calm. Alhtough after a few breaths she manages to calm herself. "That was grusome..." seh would whimper a bit, her ears flicking back as she stays behind Selyra.
The alarm stops and the humans say again, "Get in here! Come on, though... I guess if you can just do that, there is no hurries." The humans continue to cheer among themselves.
Inches away from firing into the face of the giant fox menace, she sees her target drop out of the sight of her scope, moving the gun out of the way to see what's going on. They've all been turned into goo just like that. After a few blinks, and a glance at Miora, she still has no idea what just happened. She wraps an arm around Miora's disgusted self, helping her stay steady as she walks out from behind cover and furrows her brows. "What... what just happened? Who did that?" she asks, though the voice of the humans catches her attention and she begins to walk with Miora towards the building.
Seeing the immediate collapse of the foxes, Dio breathes a light impressed whistle. "Hmmm, I didn't think that would work. But I'm glad we got out of it safe and uninfected." The lion turns towards Angus, nodding in agreement. "I'm going to rest in the chopper for a bit if you don't mind. Call me if any troubles arrive." With a hop, Dio jumps on the helicopter, sits down, and lays the shotgun across his legs.
Herma nickers, "Someone..... help me up... my sex parts got heavy all of the sudden... not like when it's gradual as you leave the bubble.""
Edel slides her sword back into place and sighs as she turns to enter the compound. "Well, at least we didn't have to get hurt dealing with them, right? We still have work to do, and it'd be no good to get all roughed up right off the bat."
With the threat neutralized Sara returns the pistols to the hidden holsters underneath her coat before making her way to the courthouse, making sure to avoid what little dregs of melted fox remain, apparently wanting little to do with hiveminds, /or/ the wellspring they had sprung from. "You called for help, what do you guys need? Looks like you've got the place relatively secure!" she calls through cupped hands. Though she shrugs it off and passes by the gate, willing to talk more on the subject inside the building, and face to face with those needing 'help'.
Alkain blinks as the foxes goop and shakes his head, "Wow... Nice..." he feels pity for them but doesn't show it, he nods to Angus as he leaves and sighs, "Stay safe." he blinks at Herma and tilts his head, "I'll help..." he walks over and lifts her easily before heading towards the gate with the others
As members of the party filter into the compound they are greated warmly, "Hey? Where is the hero? THe one who did this? Get him in here too! We have big plans for someone like him." All about the compound are various posters and other bits of information discribing how to effectively combat the foxes, all of the ones with pictures very very gruesome. "Hurry along, I'll show you to the Cardnial, he will definately be happy to see you all. As for the help we need, we want to take all of this from those horrible creatures, exterminate every last one of them, down to the man. Worthless beasts." The human male goes on as he tries to hurry everyone into the court house proper.
Alkain nods to Dio as he is led into the compound and sets down Herma before he chuckles, "I think he's the one who did it." he eyes the posters curiously and winces with a shake of his head, "Well..." he doesn't elaborate further as the human speaks
Edel rubs the back of her head and pushes her goggles up onto her head. "That's probably easier said than done... I'm not really sure how to outright remove them from the city, but, by all means, take us to your Cardinal." She reconsiders, for a moment, and pulls her eyeware back down and examines the posters.
"Uh.. alright, guess that could happen. Uh, both of 'em I mean, extermination as well as taking you away from here. Figure the guys at RSX might be willing to take you guys in, considering your shape not to mention Washington is rather close. Uh.. you don't mind zombies and other horror related shit, do you?" Sara mentions as she looks to the one speaking, occasionally peeking a glance at the pictures along the walls, "Question though, you got anything left from one of those foxes? Any.. goop in a vial or jar or something?" she asks as she pulls a pack of cigarettes from a coat pocket and a zippo from another.
Herma smiled as sie was helped up. "most popular acting stallion for my herd 2 months in a row, but the cause of that is a big henderence here.
Herma sie was able to stand on hir two hooves now... and walked over to the city slowly, stoping to chat with the human "I'll say, those things are wilder than anything I've seen back home. And I'm a mother so I know what wild is like back home." Herma chuckled
Selyra slowly puts her sniper rifle away in her holster on her back, before she draws out the other rifle, one that shoots lasers rather than bullets. Cautiously, she continues into the building, glancing around at everything she can see. Looking for escape routes, or even questionable moves. "Stay close to me, hun..." she mumbles to Miora, always watching out for her husky. The sight of Sara's cigarettes and 'zippo' bring a frown to her face, and she speaks up. "Um... miss, could you please not smoke just now?" she requests kindly, rather disliking the idea of second-hand smoking.
Miora would stay close to Selyra, her hand resting on her medkit, glancing around at all the guns and it a bit unsettaling. "Uhm do you have any wounded that need help?" she would ask to their guide, giving a last glance back at gooified foxes remaining close behind Selyra seeming rather nervous now but keeping an ear out for aynthing that sounds interesting
Herma nickers, "Also, Do you have anyone that is a mutant... like us kind of mutants. Sane mutants that are part of a minority I'm guessing."
The human male laughs a moment, "Oh, we aren't going anywhere! Who said anything about leaving? We just need help being rid of those.. creatures once and for all." As they walk the information on the posters and the weapons people are carrying only seem more and more overkill. Rocket launchers, chain guns, even some high powered laser weapons. "We are making this our home, and no flee bitten foxes are going to push us out of here. Relocate over all our dead bodies!" And the near humans cheer or grunt in reply. "Humm, no, no injured, each time they come they seem only intent on deturing us, but again, no god forsaken foxes are going to keep us from making this our home." As everyone enters the master courtroom, he kneels before a woman, "Cardnial, these, mutants are here to help us." She looks over everyone, in judge robes and an old fashioned wig, saying nothing for now as she sits in the chair as if it were a throne.
Alkain looks at Edel and nods in agreement, "Easier said than done is right..." he looks to Sara and sighs, "Do you have to smoke?" seems he doesn't like it either, he hmms? as Herma stands and smiles, "Feeling better then?" he looks at Sely and hmms at her paranoia, but then... Maybe he's not paraniod enough. He smiles at Miorna and nods, "Good question, not that I can help much though." at the humans comment of foxes he shakes his head and chuckles, "Hey, I take offense to that." he jokes
Edel folds her arms behind her head and bends backwards a little, stretching as she eyes the Cardinal over. She does her best to be polite and not make a comment on their choice of apparel. "Well, I'll do what I can to help you get rid of them. Either by offering to repair, or make, weaponry, or by using weaponry on the foxes, myself." She raises a brow and adjusts her goggles. "Unless you had something specific in mind for dealing with them?"
"Huh? Oh, uh.. fine, fine. Sorry." Sara mentions as she looks to Selyra and towards the man as he speaks up, pocketing both items in the meantime. "Ah, apologies for suggesting otherwise then. But the earlier offer stays, I'm all for getting rid of those damned things. Not much good can come from 'em." it's then that she steps through the doors into the main court room and comes face to face with the Cardinal. Not wanting to seem rude the dragoness mentions "Good to meet you ma'am, I figure it might be in my best interest to introduce myself, Sara, Corporal Sara Averith, Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry, second battalion at your service." looking towards the assembled group she asks, "Now then, on to business.. those foxes, we're going to need some details on what we're going up against. Weaknesses, areas we should avoid, including a map, doesn't matter what as long as it's got roads. Also most importantly.. those foxes, you got anything left from them, goop-wise? If not.. the location of an area with sparse amounts of the creatures."
Herma blinked and rubbed behind hir triangular ears as sie let what Sera said sink in "Huh, didn't know canada was a monarchy." sie muttered softly. Sie then bowed to the Cardinal and spoke up "And I'm Herma Phrodite, member of the Proethean faction, Mutants that retained sanity through force of will. I'm here to see if there are any sane mutants in a minortity here that would like to relocate away from something that snuff out free will."
Sie blushed before sie continued "Being a mutant does indeed mean that you think and feel differently than you did before. But many of those desires are benign, my herd for example has open marriages as the social norm."
"Thank you." the collie replies to Sara after she puts the smoking items away once more. Once they reach the room with the Cardinal, Selyra hangs back in the doorway, listening in but continuing to glance about and take in their surroundings. It seems Sara was taking the lead, which was fine by her. For now, she desires only to remain alert and quiet. However, she turns to Miora and leans in for an almost hug, taking a moment to whisper in her ear while the others converse with what appears to be the leader of these... decidedly biggotous humans. They'd be right at home in RSX indeed.
Miora would give an od of thanks to Sara as she puts the cigerete away, giving a glance around, something feeling wrong, although she had never been to this area she ahd heard practical horror stories about this places terrors... yet not a single injured? Something just didn't feel right, these people were armed to the teeth as if they were ready to war, and yet they warring foxes never left a single injured. She would hug Selyra tightly and smiles although when she hears the whisper she frowns a bit and gives a nod. "If you'll pardon me I am a bit claustraphobic... I would like to stay out here by the gate if that's ok." she would say softly, one of her hands holding on onto Selyra not wanting to be left alone here with all the people.
The human male looks back to everyone as the female stands "Silence! I will speek." She says in an almost booming voice. "We do indeed have some of the creature's leftovers." She reaches into her sleave and pulls out a vial, tossing it to Sara. " It points to the east, and you are likely to find the creatures 'den' about 15 miles from here. Each time we go out there to exterminate them ourselves though, the blasted beasts managed to turn us back, even calling on these coyotes for help on occation." She says and then sets back down, "You'll be doing us all a favor if you could eliminate them for good, and let us rebuild this city. Take whatever weapons you need, but my people will be staying back. We haven't had any injured so far, but we are not taking any risks out there. Good luck." She says though she waves the man up toward her. He gets up and, leaning in close, she whispers, very careful something to him. He looks everyone over and smiles, giving a nod.
Alkain looks to Edel and nods in agreement, he smiles at Sara and nods, "Thanks." he blinks at that introduction and chuckles, "Interesting, I'm Alkain by the way." he hmms at Sely and Miora and shakes his head before he blinks at the Cardinal, "Wait... Coyote's too?"
"Thank you, ma'am." Sara responds, seeming unfazed by the booming voice, instead she listens intently up until the point where she notices the small vial flying through the air towards her. Once close enough, she snags the small bauble from the air and holds it between her thumb and index finger. After a short examination she pockets it and turns her back on the Cardinal repeating herself once more as she pads out the door, "Thank you." once outside of the room she looks to the nearest human and asks, "You guys carry anything that carries an electric current? A weapon I mean."
Edel dips into a polite bow. "And I am Edel. I think I have all the weaponry I need for this, now, but I cannot speak for the others." Her ears perk a little as coyotes are mentioned. "Well, this certainly does seem more unusual than what I'm used to dealing with!" She glances towars Sara. "I do! My sword carries an electric current. What will one be needed for?"
Herma sighs a bit. As what the woman said could mean a few possible things
First, they could be resorting to the genocide of ferels that could be possibly turned back to sanity.
Second, this is the asking for genocide of a sane group of people that wern't given a chance to speak...
Third, this was a sane group that DIDN'T want to talk things over, like thugs out of a B-movie set in a post-apocylipse Australia.
"Assuming it's the third possiblity, complete genocide might actually not be a bad thing." Herma blinked for a moment. "Did I start speaking out loud in mid thought? Sorry if that happend"
Selyra honestly can't help but return Miora's tight hug, worries erupting in her mind that make her hold the husky's hand tight and secure in her own. Her ears remain angled to hear the conversation however, that they were to be sent out miles away to kill off the packmind. She'd heard of them enough from her father, but didn't much like these guys either. Catching Alkain's eye, she beckons him over towards her, intent on having a small word with him as well. The offer of weapons keeps the collie quiet for now however, wishing not to accept weapons from them. As Sara comes back out of the Cardinal's room, Selyra looks at her expectantly, accepting her as the leader for the time being.
Miora would give Selyra a small pull closer at the booming voice, although when it cleared she would look to selyra and think a bit to herself. "I don't like this place but I don't want to leave them behind..." she would say with a small shudder running up her spine, showing she was nervous and a bit scared but not wanting to leave the others, it not in her spirit to do so. Although reguardless she does stay close to Selyra.
The cardinal just looks over everyone, though the male follows along, "Hey, when you all get back, I'll be heading up a huge celebration! Who'd have ever though that mutants would be the ones to get this job done. Once those foxes and coyotes are gone, we'll be able to work on getting everything built up again, maybe start dealing with the wolves too." He seems a bit more then elated about this. However, things are braught to a bit of a stop as one of the men from Z come in, "Hey, commander says everyone back in the chopper, we are going to have to come back later, boss is calling this expedition back, something about risk reassessment, so, unless you are wanting to stay here till who knows when, get your arse back in" says the herm otter. "Oh great, well, just up and leave us then!" says the man, to which the otter responds, "We'll be back as soon as we are able, after we get our new work orders, till then, just stay holed up here." The otter then quickly paces it back to the chopper.
Herma nickers, "I'll say here for a little bit and to ask a few questions... And hit on an Otter."
"Huh? C-Commander?" Sara asks as she looks to the Zephyr agent, the dragoness falling silent as she listens to the herm speak, "Understood, sir." is called as the order to fall back is issued, though she stays put for the moment and looks to the guard with a forced smile, "Hey, we will be back, and I expect that celibration to be loud alright.. just stay safe, and I'll make sure either Zephyr, or at the very least, New Ireland sends in supplies until we return. Food, clothing, ammunition, and medicine. Just stay safe until then, and make sure none of you are lost. I expect to see every last one of you. Got it?" Her pep-talk over Sara turns her back on the guard and makes her way out of the courthouse and back to the helicopter. While every ounce of her demanded she stay, she still had a family back home, and no way to get back there.
Alkain hmms at Sara and shrugs, "Nothing electric here..." he looks at Edel and nods, "I think I can do with all I have." he blinks at Herma and shrugs before looking at Sely, he walks over and nods, "Yes?" he looks at Miora curiously before the otter comes in, "Uh, alright... I'll go with you." he shrugs a bit and hmms uin thought.
Edel turns and waves over her shoulder as she makes her own way back to the helicopter. "Yes, we'll be back! Perhaps with more! We might need it. Don't die on us, yet, please!"
"Say, if you could discribe what those foxes were like by comparing them to a movie, which movie would it be? The Blob? Max Max? 28 days later? Them? War of the Worlds? Attack of the Communist Penguins?" Herma could of hear the groans of people "I'm serious, Are we facing something that has free will? Something that is organized? A bunch of raiders? A super pack of ferels? or something alienly supernatural?"
Selyra wraps an arm around Alkain's back and whispers into his ear as well, keeping her voice down. The arrival of one of the Zephyr men causes some surprise in her, eye widening and ears perked. Nodding to him, she moves towards the door with Miora and Alkain alongside her, though she doesn't miss Herma's comments. Unable to help a chuckle, she rolls her eyes. "I'm pretty sure we can rule out supernatural." she calls over, somewhat eager to be out of the courthouse.
Miora would stand near by listening to the agent and not really having much else to say on the matter, glancing around every now and then while the others are busy, following along behind her collie lover out of the courthouse, not liking the feeling she got from being in there. All to eager to leave, although even when out she couldn't help but still feel like something was wrong with this.
