The warehouse looks deserted from the outside, but the doors are open, and bright halogen lights shine upon the warehouse floor. The building is full of stuff, anything from a crushed car, to near pristine crates of who-knows-what. There's a sign leaning against the outside wall, welcoming anybody wanting to take a rest. No sign immediately of the coyote who led Cerris here though.
The harsh lights hanging from the far-above ceiling betray all the dust and decay of the floor, whose corrugated steel walls and ceilings show spots of rust from years of neglect. Traffic has kept the dust from the pathways of some of the little corridors made by the stacked freight... Amongst the I-beams holding up a suspended office, whose dark, grungy windows betray nothing, rest several broken down couches, all smelling strongly of canine.
A dark speck is seen speeding its way towards the warehouse. Gradually it takes the shape of a dark dragon. It circles the area a couple times before settling to the ground in front of the warehouse. A smaller white form visible on it's back.
The lighter body slowly slips off, peering away from one of the beams as the long-eared figure held on to a wing. Not necessarily the biggest fan of heights.
Having verified his support had arrived and abandoned the form of seeker hound, The leader of men and semi feral powerhouse calling himself Colonel Cerris Voss leads the way inward, cautiously following the scent of coyote despite wearing human flesh. "Humph, some ambush this is...no trip wires, no high beams...not even snare trap..."
There is a pause as he decides to not even mention bear traps and tiger pits out loud...but all and all this looked like a normal welcome with cautious pause to ensure he wasn't coming in guns blazing. "This is Colonel Cerris Voss USMC. This Is your party, I showed, you start it."
Onris moves to take the wingman position on Cerris's right while pet and mech set up at the door as rear guard. Eyes and ears scan hir side of the room as shi shifts from foot to foot nervously.
The recognizable clatter of ceramic on metal is heard from behind a pile of crates, before a figure strolls into view, carrying a large plate on which rested an old fashioned teakettle, a pot of coffee, and a half-dozen mugs. As the figure comes into view, there is little chance to mistake him for someone other than the prankster from the streets. "Oh good, I was beginning to worry you weren't going to stop by, and yes, there are indeed no traps here. This is my humble abode." The coyote pushes a small crate with a swift kick into the middle of an open area. "Come on, I don't get to have guests every day, you know." His grin now ear-to-ear, he places the plate ontop of the crate.
Ruby shifts over to to Cerris's left, tracking around her side and keeping her pet close. The new figure doesn't ease her nerves enough, nearly standing tiptoe as if she'd step on something.
Onris really doesn't like having this wily figure as an enemy, nor does she like the idea of hir commander risking himself to a trap. So throwing caution to the wind, shi move forward past cerris to stand at the crate opposite the coyote.
Not very often Cerris wants to strangle his host and yet...Shaking his head, he runs his digits between Ruby's ears . "If your invitation says anything, your methods of advertising your parties may be the problem." A glance Onris' direction checks her calm, he slides his other hand between her wings, his eyes on the coyote as he adds. "So what are you up to...I know some of your kind like to fuck with soldiers but if you plan to hinder my work to repair American society....respect for your people and....spirit won't hold back the rage of a patriot."
"Tea or coffee? If coffee, regular or decaf? It'd be terribly silly to invite people over and not play the part of a good host, wouldn't it?" The canine pours himself a cup of tea, and sits on the cement floor behind the crate. "I'm perfectly happy to help to restore society, but I've also got promises to keep."
Onris stops advance but insists on standing between cerris and the antagonist.
Ruby lowly sighs, standing less stiff as she plants her feet back on the ground. She keeps an ear high for the door, less jittery from the lack of blatant traps.
Cerris rumbles in a manner quite inhumane despite his homo sapiens superior form. "Tea, three sugar if you have it. And what are these promises in regards to us, the military and America?" Is it sign of how much he has changed that instead of sugar he'd settle for his companions pissing, lactating or cumming into his tea?
Redd pours the tea into a mug and produces a (no doubt expired) box of sugar cubes out from under the plate before handing both across the plate. "Help yourself to the sugar, Ah, maybe a proer introduction will calm your nerves. My name's Redd, I've lived in this city for the better part of two and a half years, causing mischief along with my other duties. If you hadn't noticed, I'm not quite your run of the mill 'yote." Redd points to the many scars and bits of shrapnel. "These came from a trip outside the bubble, I was part of a team that disabled and recovered a nanite server for RSX a few months back. Some things you just wish you never saw. The hell created by that bubble was a lot like that."
Onris shrugs in the unaccustomed form. Since it doesn't seem hostile, shi decides to slip into something more comfy. "Tea please, if it's hot plain is fine"
Ruby slowly sits herself on the ground, dusting off whatever was nearby. "I'd like some tea too, just a couple of cubes. Is there any honey?"
Cerris nods, the box of sugar and cup of tea moving to meet his hands even as he reaches for them. A fact that he clearly does not notice by his behavior. "Your damage looks like friendly fire...did you get infected and turn on your allies?" It wouldn't surprise him really, but he wouldn't judge the past, he was half insane by the time the rescuers stopped his nanite progression. "And you didn't answer my question." The box opens as his other hand reaches for it, his gaze not leaving the coyote, so he doesn't notice the cubes moving to meet his fingers and simply offers the box to Ruby, the thing still hanging there when he let's it go, thinking she has it when his instincts cue him to let it go.
"Lets just say the first team to go in didn't have their shots up to date, we had to clean up the mess. And no, my duties and promises do not involve you, the military, nor the ruins of the United States Government. They relate to things most people will never see the likes of. I'll leave it at that." Redd pours two more cups of tea, and sets them on the plate. "Enough about me, lemme hear some of your stories, if you got to Colonel from enlisted, you must have some tales to tell."
Onris watches Cerris's telekinetic show a bit surprised. Shi doesn't remember that trick before. It's dismissed off handedly as hir own cup is offered. A nod of thanks given as she listens to the exchange.
Ruby blinks, cluelessly trying to catch the box before it falls from mid-air. She takes her own cubes before passing them over, stiring on the closest cup with her own nod.
Chell stalks into the warehouse from the south, slipping hir laser pistol into a makeshift thigh holster on hir left thigh. The Vampiress swings a cold gaze about the people here, but upon spotting Redd shi relaxes and continues inward after shutting the door behind hir. "Pardon the interruption, please." shi says in a calm voice, digging into hir bag for a set of hand-drawn plans.
