Area of Effect
From Flexible Survival
A quick summary of how Area of Effect (or AoE) works.
Enemy AoE
AoE powers (above minor and single target upgraded for AoE, those work differently) which hit enemies have their number of targets affected by accuracy.
- The power determines its decay amount by dividing 40% by its rank. Small = 2, medium = 3, large = 4; upgrades increase extra targets hit before decay sets in (This does NOT mean that they will be hit for the same as the primary target, RNG still has power here).
- The power picks its primary target and hits it with full accuracy.
- The power reduces its accuracy by the decay amount.
- The power hits a secondary target with the reduced accuracy.
- Repeat from step 3 until its reduced accuracy is equal to or less than 0.
For Minor AoE and Single target powers upgraded for AoE, number of extra targets are as follows:
- '[Public] Flexible Designer Nuku carols, "For no AoE or Minor AoE, it's 0 or 1 + AoEMod + AoE"'
This is apparently (but unconfirmed as of yet,) only subject to only tiny accuracy penalties, making it ideal for applying statuses and DoTs.
Friendly AoE
Since accuracy is irrelevant in hitting allies, such powers hit 'rank + 1d2' targets. As before, small = 2, medium = 3, and large = 4, and then upgrades add on to that.
