T'was a fine day, clear skies and soft gusts of wind wafting over the once post-apocalyptic wasteland. It'd been a decade now, ten whole years since the world had been ravaged. Now however, one could finally sense the rebuilding efforts as they happen around them. One such scenario was giving the denizens of Fairhaven easy access to electrical energy, and this is exactly what one fennec with a shallow wallet and shady motives would be trying to accomplish today.

Giant spool of heavy-duty wiring? "Check." Table of assorted tools and equipment? "Check." Confirmation that the area had been scoured of unwanted feral activity? "Cherkerooni." Magnus would flick away his list, marking one item after the other. Now all that was missing was... ah, yes! Music! He'd pull out his laptop from within his pack, and open it up. His fingers glide over the touchpad as he browses for the appropriate song. Feeling classical, he opts for something from Johnny Mercer and the Pied Pipers. Once the merry tune gets playing, now one other thing was missing... the crew.

Khaybat meanwhile is already here since she just kind of goes along with Magnus when he wants to do missions. She bounces around the area, not having brought her Gameboy with since it would likely get dinged by falling things, though that leaves her to entertain herself and she seems to have chosen to chase around a piece of newspaper that is flying around the area. It's best not to ask!

Kar chuckles as he talks to a group of mutants, before high fiving a fox that was besides him and waves as he walks towards the work area while the group disperses. As he arrives, he sees the fennec and waves to him. "Hey there, Magnus. Seems like we are working together again."

Kastianna steps out from an alleyway, stretching her arms and letting out a big yawn. When she stopped yawning she also stopped walking and blinked. She look at Magnus, Khay, and Kar, confused. "Uhhh... what's going on here?" Kasti asked, unsure of herself. She took a few more steps forward, getting closer to Magnus, her curiosity peaking. The taur was oddly dressed up in sort of nurse's type scrubs, modified to fit her body and conceal certain details ((*cough* her loins *cough*)). Her ears flicked a little bit, feeling the after-noon air breezing over her.

Arriving on foot his large membranous wings draped over his shoulders as if they were a cloak Ebreus makes his way down the street to the jobsite. Smiling as he spies people already gathering he says, "Hello Magnus, Khay." greeting those whom he recognized then looking to those he didn't. "And new faces... I'm Ebreus nice to meet you."

"Heya, lad." Magnus answers, short and sweet. He'd take a seat on the table and bob his head in time with the rhythm of the music being played, awaiting the rest of the crew. As he does so, several serious looking canines in armor, armed with pistols and submachine guns move in to greet him with a nod. "Area's secure, we left squad B in structures A-12 and C-8 to overview the procedures, just in case someone gets jumped. Other than that, we're here if ya need us." With a smile and a bob of the head, Magnus dismisses the group with a wave of the hand, tracing them as they disappear amidst the rubble.

"Just doing what we can to secure electricity for the rest of the city. Did the boys disturb you? Sorry about that, I sent them to check for hostiles, we don't want to have anyone fall while working on the installation, so uh... yeah! You look like a clever one, fancy earning some easy creds?" the charismatic fox casts her a wink, then offers her a copy of the local map. "Here. I drew a rough map of the best spots to run the wiring through, but that's not really my forte. Maybe you can improve on it."

Once Ebreus steps up, the fox nods and greets him as per usual, with bob of the nose. Rising onto his feet, he'd clasp his hands, then whistle sharply to draw the others' attention! "Right, lads! We'll be doing something simple today. We're finally gonna be distributing power among the city, and this requires wiring. Now, I think we can all agree that dangling the damn things off of poles is a terrible idea, and with all the ground burrowing rodents in the area, burrying them isn't such a neat thing to consider either! But I have an idea. We have a lot of stable structures still standing. I need someone to assist in ensuring they won't be going down any time soon, however."

Pausing for a moment, the fox then gestures towards the tools on the table he'd set aside. "I also need someone nimble helping me securing these damn things to the structures! Hammers, drills, nails and other such utilities are all here." he'd then gesture towards Kastianna. "This lady here is currently looking over my rough draft of where to run these lines, we'll see if anything needs tweaking. If so, take her word for it, I'm jsut a novice at this business. RIGHT! Who's gonna do what, then?"

Khaybat meanwhile goes to sit down next to Magnus though she's doing it on all-fours which probably looks a little silly since she's not actually a quadrupedal dragon! Not that she appears to notice as she listens to Senpai explain what's happening though she doesn't try to chirp in yet, letting the others decide on what they wanted to do!

Kar smiles and waves to Ebreus. "Hey there, Ebreus. I'm Kar, we met when I was visiting Draken a while ago." He looks towards Magnus as he calls their attention. After the explanation, he nods. "While I can't say it's the ideal solution, it at least allows for better conditions to work, when a more permanent job can be done." He stretches his arms before shifting into a latex succufox. "I'll help with installing the wires, if that's OK with you guys."

Kastianna blinks, unsure of what to say or do at the moment as she was just suddenly handed a map with sketches. "I um... Sure? I guess." Kasti was extremely confused, her head tilting to one side as she looked over the map, studying it. "Hey fennec man... I think if we head directly east it might save on resources and time, the buildings are mostly intact in that direction."

Ebreus nods, "Ah, right. Nice to meet you again Kar." he says. Stepping over to Kastianna, "Mind if I take a look?" he asks as he looks over the map of the area and where the wires were planned to go. "Hmm... this much wiring we'll need to plan for periodic capacitors or whomever does the fine tuning after us will have to take down all the wire and redo it. East does look like the best direction to start in..." he says as he trails off mentally mapping out where capacitors will be needed, "Okay... planning for capacitors in these places" he points out places across the map, "will speed up later installation greatly."

The fox nods and casts Kastianna a thankful hug. "Kudos. Keep those plans on you. Seems you know what you are doing." Clasping his hands together, the fox yells out. "You heard the woman! We'll be operating in structure A-3, A-4 and A-5 today! We get wiring done down that way, we'll be all set for today!" He'd then give Khaybat a nudge and a peck on the cheek, "Luv, why don't you come help me with the actual attachment. You don't need to get your hands dirty if you don't want to, but if you can climb up and down to hand me and Kar tools, that works too."

Once Ebreus speaks up, he'd nod and shrug deeply. "Alright. Down the length of the wall... I guess on A-3 and A-5? Bah..." Magnus waves a hand and blows a raspberry. "They'll figure it out later, thanks Eb." That said, the fox moves over to grab a hammer, a small bag of nails, and a length of wire from the spool. He'd measure several of his bodylengths, then cut in the appropriate place, before hooking a thumb over his shoulder. "'mon then! Someone go check the buildings, too. Don't want anything collapsing a week or so after we're done here..."

Khaybat ends up climbing her way up along the wall and soon gets to where she wanted to be. Unable to speak she leans back over and squeaks down at the others though Senpai might be the only one who knows this is an indication she's okay. With that done she gets to work, trying to tie the rope to something sturdy!

Kar furrows his brows at the mention of the place the wire is going through. ".May I have a look at the map?" He says as he looks towards the coordinates magnus spoke, then to the street it will go through. "We might want to rethink the path we are taking. The buildings in A4 are in a very poor state, and scheduled for renovations by the residential crew next week. As it stands, things aren't suitable to run the wires through there."

Ebreus nods as Magnus begins measuring out lengths of wire and planning for capacitors. "I'll check A-3. Someone want to get five?" he says as he lightly stretches lightly and slowly jogs off to the designated buildings. Stopping outside A-3 he looks over the outer walls for anything important to take note of and then steps inside to check for internal damage... finding some of the brick-work of one of the walls damaged to a concerning degree the Hellhound makes mental note of the extent of the damage and carefully makes his way back out, "A-3 has a wall in pretty rough shape... I wouldn't bet against it being a load-bearing wall so if we can't fix it stringing wires to it is likely to end badly." He takes a deep breath and continues, "Some careful attention could fix it without delaying the whole project though."

Kastianna looks over at Ebreus, once more blinks, her personal space being violated somewhat but she says nothing. She looks back down at the map, studying it for a few more seconds. Deciding she's studied long enough, she hands it Kar then takes a look at the buildings around them, specifically A-4. "Not true. The walls on that building right there" she points to the building, "I think you said it is A-4, there is a lot of broken windows on that building. Wouldn't that be a hazard to those climbing up there?" She looks up at Khaybat, becoming aware of how much danger she might be in.

The fox is soon after his lover, climbing up the side and snickering as he undoes the knot she'd made with the wire. "Like this..." he'd instruct as he starts to hammer support nails into place, securing the electric wiring as best he can. While they work, down below there would be a stirring of commotion, though not all would pick up on it, so it seems. "Hey Kar! Come help us, get up to the second floor to our east, and extend the line from the back corner along between the structures! Careful, though! You said the damn place is unstable."

Khaybat ends up squeaking to her Senpai when told how to do the rope though she just ends up slurping him soon after and then goes to crawl after him, trying to spot who he's happening to talk to down below!

Kar shouts back to Magnus. "I would avoid A4 altogether, it's tilted a good few degrees towards the street and I bet that putting a load on the wrong place might topple it." He goes to pick some tools as his ears turn around. "You guys heard that?" He says as he reaches for his walkie-talkie, quickly turning it's dial until he hears the banter of bored mercenaries. "Instalation crew to squad on B, we might have inbound. Do you copy? Over." He says at the radio device, deciding that it's better to be safe than sorry.

Kastianna nods in agreement with Kar. She trots over to where the tools are at and starts looking through them. Being unsure of what is what, she shrugs. She starts looking over the plans again, and the buildings around them some more, trying to see about finding anymore faults. "Where exactly are we trying to go with this project again?" She shouts up to Magnus the fennec man.

The 'hounds ears flick and swivel to hone in on a noise, something that shouldn't be in the middle of a construction site... even if the 'site' is just them attaching lengths of wire to walls. Closing his eyes and taking a quick sniff another clue is provided to the hound as to the source of the sound... rats, no literally rat form mutants. Opening his crimson glowing eyes Ebreus looks about as he says, "I heard it. Sounds like somebody got past security." He stretches his neck, eliciting a few pops and clicks, before clearing his throat and saying loudly enough for anyone to hear, "Hello. This is an active work-site, I'd advise against sneaking about for your own safety. Come on out."

"Roger." is heard over Kar's comm device, and backup was on its way. Magnus however was too busy bouncing to the beat as he attaches one part of wiring after the other, aided dauntlessly by his nimble, and quite mute mate. Once the question hits those massive ears of his, he'd answer, "Towards the river! There are two more settlements that way! Besides, we need to expand this network anyway, and this is one of the directions to do it in. Might as well start eastward, right?"

Once asked to, the rodents would start to approach, emerging from the shadows. The glint of metal was but the shiny surface of a tin can, it appears, the mutants that emerge were a rat woman in raggy clothes, the dirt on her shoulders hinting that she hadn't snuck PAST their security, but under it. "W-who are you people? Why are you here?" Before she could even receive an answer however, she'd cover her muzzle and gasp sharply, eyes locking onto something behind them.

Two doberman males would fast approach, armed and at the ready, as summoned by Kar. They'd keep their guard up, but make no immediate moves on the raggy woman. She... however... "So you're more of Finch's lackeys then, I should have known. Stay back!" she'd yell out, then turn around to disappear into the depths of the building. The armed dogs look amongst each other, then the others~
