What was that smell? It had the melicious odor of burning rubber and smoldering roadkill! The plumes of black, thick smoke going over the cityscapre were truly frightening, though for Magnus, on the fucking weekend, when he was supposed to be RELAXING... it only meant he had more shit to do. Faaaantastic. With a growl and a shake of his head, the fennec crushes the canned soda in his hand and tosses it into the nearby bin, then leaps off towards the source of the smoke, knowing full well the state of the fire department, how understaffed and underequipped they were, he felt they would be needing all the help they could get. He'd already tackled one inferno already, what was another, right? The fox arrives with a loud thump, glancing around to look for the panicked masses in the area. Thankfully the only presence was of wandering wilds, disorganized, chaotic... that was at least all that he could see. The stench of burning latex was absolutely overpowering, so the fox reaches into his pack, and pulls out what appeared to be a face cover, slipping it over his muzzle, as well as a pair of goggles to ward off the ash and soot in the air from irritating his eyes. He wasn't equipped for this, he had no hydrowhatchamagallit nanomagic, nor any of that thermal huckery fuckery either. The best he could do at this point is pick up his comm unit and relay the details to his own department, summoning those able to assist with the potentially injured from the massive blaze. What the fuck was burning in there anyway? Mountains of latex and sillicone?

Poppy had only come feeling that there was something that might have gone wrong. That the smoke billowing in the sky might have been just from some massive fight. The burning inferno infront of her was... not what she had expected to see. Not what she had hoped to see. No. None of it was in anything she had hoped for. Instead, a blistering heat washed off the building, the sound of ferals skittering every which way, moving away from the burning mass of a building, and even worse, some still fighting it. Like a fire like this is something you can fight. It's more a force of nature to try and avoid, to try and prevent. This... This was a nightmare made manifest. It took Poppy a few moments to shake herself from the awestruck horror as much as the concern of the situation. "Uh, fire. Right. The... firemen are on their way. I... I gotta do something. What... what can I do." Looking over the situation, she tried to discern what, if anything, she could even do. Ferals, smoke, burning flesh... No, don't think about that. Swallow. Breath. Move. She shook her head, looking about. Someone who was shoudting into a comms. People were on the way, information being given. Her feet moved before she could think of it. The building itself might be forefet, but those at the edges, she might be able to help. Ferals who skittered away and hid near the building, near the alleys... They were still in danger. And so, she moved on, nearer the building, yelling and trying to at least spook the ferals near the cover nearest away. This was not her forte... but damn it, she had to do /something/

Fenia's wings strained as she arrowed through the air, eyes narrowed to try to pick out anything.. anything aside from that greasy pillar of smoke staining the sky. It was in a mostly uninhabited area?.. maybe?.. Although, odds are there would be ferals there at least, and the thought makes her try to fly even faster. She ponders a cautious circle of of the inferno before landing, but the thought of potential injured drives her to the ground as quick as she can, landing lightly and glancing around. The smoke and smell of burning latex hit her like a wall, and she reflexively stops breathing before she makes herself continue. As unpleasant as it might be, it would not choke /her/, and being able to smell would be useful. She looks around again for other agents or bystanders, but then moves to her task, moving forward and trying to find signs of any injured, or to see if there was any way to contain the blaze.

Len has arrived on the scene, as well, drawn by that massive smoke cloud. It's impossible to miss, after all. The goat has no fire training to speak of, so the most he can do is really be a bystander. Oh gods, he's well over 300 feet away, and can still feel himself blistering from the sheer heat, and the smell... Gods, the smell! Murder on his sensitive caprine nose. He nearly gags, but decides to try and help herd away the ferals along with Poppy.

A large firetruck peels around the corner and drives up into the parking area for the loading docs. A large armored and badge wearing chimera rolls out of the front seat and after engaging the trucks engine to start priming the pumps. He looks to the small grouping of agents trying their best to help. He carries down three hoses, and starts attaching them. He looks over to the familiar fennec and shouts, "Magnus! Get these lines run if you can!" throwing the large canvas hoses as far as he can toward the street, clearly in need to be run to a fire hydrant. He takes the third hose toward the sides of the warehouse. There was no way they were going to stop this fire, at this point it was a loss and it was just about trying to simply contain it from spreading to the other nearby buildings. Meanwhile the feral presence has mostly found itself clear of the inferno, the only ones left were either injured or insane. They hunker down and hiss or growl at any approach to help, some lashing out with burned paws, others clearly unable to take a sentient form again, just pooling about like a half-humanoid-formed puddles of latex.

It was done nearly before the chimera was done speaking, Magnus had grabbed those, run them, attached them, and run back in record times, if there were records for such a thing anyway. Figures, with so many fire breathing mutants running around, was it any surprise that the place had caught fire? They needed more regulations for these sorts of things. "Miru's gonna have a field they over this. I doubt her newspaper has had anything to report on in a while." He'd growl softly, spotting the others who'd arrived, herding the feral presence away by means of sight and sound alike. "ANYBODY HERE GOT SOME OF THAT MEDICAL NANOWHATEVER THAT LETS YOU CHECK FOR SURVIVORS?!" he'd call out, then lift his finger and point it at the burning building. "I need to know if there's anyone left alive in there! We DON'T have forever to save them!" He'd warn, voice practically booming over the chaos in the area.

Poppy tried to not gag as she saw the state of some of the ferals. Nearly molten puddles of semi-humanoid good, some still burning as they dragged their half deranged selves away from the raging inferno, living ink stains that crept away like eerie shadows. Her attempts to keep her gut in check... was of only minimal success. Still, some of them howled and clawed and scraped at them... but she had to do something. The heat of the flames baked her skin, burning at her fur despite being nowhere near the fires, but she had to do... something. One of the flailing flailing ferals was dragged bodily out, the collie whining as they cut and clawed at her. But until they were far enough away that it didn't hurt to breath... she'd have to endure it. Her ears turned catching the sound of the shouting man again. "NO! NOTHING OF THE SORT!" Was all she could answer. Nanowhatever was out of her wheelhouse. Only her nose was of any use, and it smelled of naugh tmore than a bitter oily mixture of boiling flesh and burning latex. Neither of which... she wished she could smell. The Flailing feral dropped, skittering away, she looked back at the building. An almost helpless look crossed her face as she looked back over the scene... rushing back to the man by the firetruck. "WHAT CAN I DO?" As much a cry for direction as a cry for help.

Fenia had to stop from wincing at the fight of the burned, melted ferals, feeling the urge to rush to the nearest one and try to aid. But while these ones were wounded.. they would survive a little longer, while any still trapped inside would most certainly not. The less-hurt but more aggressive ones also worry her, as she keeps walking forward, making her tempted to try to project a calming aura... except for the face she would need to concentrate for her next act. So she relies on the fact that she tends to come across as harmless and nonthreatening, and moves until the heat is too much for her to risk going further, and uses her nanite scanning nanomagic, searching for any dense spots that would indicate still-living nanite masses. Either way, she would swap to her telepathy and call back to the Fennec. {I JUST USED NANOMAGIC TO SCAN THE BUILDING..} Followed by telling him if she had found survivors, and the approximate location of any she had seen, although with a caveat for the vagueness of her sensing.

Len is truly roasting, and his thick, fluffy goat fur is not helping. He tries to help whatever ferals he can reach, but otherwise feels pretty helpless. "What else can I do to help?" he asks Poppy, raising his voice to be heard over the conflagration. "I know some basic first aid, but a lot of these injuries are bit beyond my expertise... I'll, ah... I'll try calling for an ambulance from Zephyr!" He starts typing out the emergency number on his comm.

Korune shouts over the din, "I NEED SOMEONE ON THIS HOSE! NOW!" he says with the hose under his foot-paw while he releases the valve. As soon as the valve is thrown, the fire engine's pump revs up and the hose fills with water nearly instantly, spilling water from the nozzle. The chimera closes the valve and tosses it to the side again, for one of the other volunteers to man, "Two people per hose!" he shouts and moves to get another one setup for the other adjascent building, "KEEP THE FIRE CONTAINED, WATER ON THE OTHER BUILDINGS, THIS ONE IS LOST! WE DONT HAVE THE PEOPLE TO SAVE IT!" he shouts over the cacophony of noises. He hears Fenia's report, "CIRCLE THE BUILDING FENIA, KEEP YOUR DISTANCE! LET ME KNOW IF YOU SEE ANY PLACES WHERE THE FIRE IS NOT CONTAINED!" he shouts again. A few more twists and there, he cracks the nozzle slightly to let air out and water to fill up the hose before again wrenching the lever for the valve open, filling up the hose. He closes the nozzle and tosses it out, "SECOND HOSE IS UP!" he shouts and gets on the radio to dispatch, "Dispatch Truck 128, Three Alarm Fire is in containment, request additional support, only wounded ferals on sight, request mobile download of building schematic to comm unit number 146, address is 3rd, 6-5-0-0, warehouse with loading docs." he says over the radio. "Copy Truck 128, Standby" is the reply. "Truck 128, moving off-radio, out" he says and drops the hand-held mic back onto the seat.

Nearing Collie, Magnus grabs her shoulder and gives it a squeeze to calm her down. "Keep your cool. See if the firefighters need anything. Watch for survivors, just help anyone if they need it." he nods to her, and winces as Fenia moves in close to the radiating heat to do what she does. Once he gets the message, he moves in and pulls her away from the searing heat, huffing sharply in morbid realization that whoever may be in there had a very slim chance of making it out... still, a slim chance was better than no chance. "You." He points a finger towards Poppy. "Check around the building, see if anyone has crawled out or has passed out from the heat that you can grab and haul back quickly. Take the right side. You!" he points towards Len "Take the left side! Do the same. You!" he points towards Fenia "You be their lookout, keep an eye on them from afar, see if you can get a birdseye view of things, make sure nobody else gets hurt."

He turns to Korune and screams, "Fenia picked up on people in there! Don't just declare the damn building lost like that! Get a hose on it to cool shit down, I'm going in!" The fox places his hand on the tome at his hip, muttering something under his breath for a few short moments as his pelt first and foremost glistens gently at the tips of his individual hairs, his breath faltering for a moment as he feels the familiar price to pay for his added layer of defense. Additionally, as he lunges towards the entrance, his body rapidly covers in what at a quick glance appeared to be some sort of smooth metallic surface. Whatever was going on there, it was meant to keep him safe, and hopefully it would. The trip through the burning building was anything but pleasant. His adaptation and gas mask helped only so much in a miasma of burning latex...

The heat was overwhelming, and even curled up as he was, the fox felt like he was being in his own pressure cooker. He had to work fast, he had to look fast, and that's exactly what he did, or tried to do. Head swimming, he was starting to get dazed, confused and exhausted from the effort of staing conscious. The first chamber he checks was a dud, onto the second... his strength was fading and his ears were started to whistle, his head was pounding and he felt his core temperature was rising, he was boiling up from the inside, but he strikes out with luck, finding the two bodies just there. Feral or no, Magnus heifts either over his shoulders. Coughing sharply, he was gasping for air, exherting every ounce of willpower to do what he had set out to do. He wasn't going to be the victim here today. Just another corner, just another few steps.

By the time he had reached the entrance, his knees were starting to buckle, his blood was boiling in his veins and his fur was singed from every direction, his whiskers were missing and his armor was sizzling on his body. Finally he reaches a safe distance from the building, his vision blurry, barely conscious, he collapses onto the ground, with the two dying lives just before himself. He'd nearly cooked in there, but thank the divines he'd managed to get out...

Taking a moment to breath, Poppy had to simply breath, nodding for a moment. Too much worry and fear at the moment. She had to do something. Just something. Just move and act and... Help. Worry and concern shown in her eyes as she looked back at the lad. Instruction. She can work with instructions. As little as she had, it was something. And that... that would just have to do. A grim sort of nod would be given to him as she slipped off, searching on the right side of the building. It felt like fire filled her lungs... those who were less used to something of this sort would have almost certainly fallen away. Knocked out and boiling alive as they were. Whether that could yet change was in her hands and others. A quick pace to the side of the building, trying to spy if any of the have-baked sanity starved beings had made it anywhere near the side or edge of the building, she looked across the area. None that she could see, some small miracle that was. Running back, she shouted to the driver and the one whom got her attention, "NONE EXHAUSTED ON THE RIGHT HAND SIDE. WORKING TO MAN THE HOSE!" And with that, she ran off, swiftly making her way to the nozzle near the truck, dragging it out as best she could. They needed two people to it, the larger fellow had said. But damn it, she would just have to try and make due with what she could. Faint memories crossed her mind of what to do. Holding a nearly defensive stance, gripping the nozzle, and spraying down the building to the inferno's right. The force back was... terrifying. Intense. But in the moment... it was all more than she could really handle. But this? This... she held firmly, taking her stance and trying to douse the nearby building. In that direction at least, it wouldn't spread

Fenia's ears twitch and she turns quickly as Magnus pulls her away from the heat, not resisting as she knew there was little more info to get from that position. The orders from both him and Korune to fly, look, and relay info are immediately accepted with a nod, and she wastes no time taking to the sky, a glance back at magnus betraying a nervous worry about what he was about to do. Maybe it would have been better to /not/ convey that there were two ferals alive in there? they were very deep and most likely in very bad condition.. was it worth letting him risk himself for them?.. Either way it was too late, and she focuses on the task at hand, flying in a wide circle around the inferno and searching for anywhere the fire threatened to break out, internally worrying over Magnus and the other injured ones around the building. They would be ok for now, but if the fire spread or it collapsed.. She had to focus.

Taking advantage of her nanite scanning still, she searches around the fire during her loop, and her eyes widen as she catches sight of Magnus again, stumbling from the building and looking so much worse for wear.. but with both of those dying ferals pulled from the hungry flames. She dives quickly, and releases her active nanomagic to utilize Biomonitoring instead, hands darting between the three badly hurt mutants as she triages and weighs chances of survival. She would work on the worst case first, unless Magnus was unlikely to survive the pause. Another swap. {I NEED WATER AND MEDICAL SUPPLIES, JUST TOSS SOMETHING OVER QUICK} Pulses into the minds of other other agents, and her hands quickly delve into her own gear, pulling free a Trauma kit even as her Medical nanomagic flares to life, delving and repairing the body of The closest mutant, Painkillers and such readied for later. Now, Magnus would survive a few moments longer while she tried this.. and her left hand tries to remove his burned mask, silvery skin flowing and producing small claws for leverage.

The mutant was technically dead. So she just had to fix that, in a rush of nanites and focus.

Len nods wordlessly, and he goes around the left side of the building. The heat is so intense, he can barely manage. Thick goat fur is not designed for this temperature. He's slow roasting, even despite keeping his distance. Unlike Poppy, he finds a couple ferals, who are just collapsed on the ground about 200 yards from the inferno, and unable to go further, having passed out from the heat. Truth be told, the goat himself is feeling lightheaded, too. He has to retreat, or he'll pass out. He presses the general broadcast key on his comm, and yells into it, "I've found a couple more, but I can't move them both! Around the left side... I need help!" The goat goes into a coughing fit as the wind suddenly blows thick, acrid smoke his way. "Please! They're breathing's faint! I can't carry them both!"

Fenia spends 20000 builder mass for RP reasons.

Korune's jaw drops as he sees the fennec disappear into the fire... it takes him solid seconds to even process what had just happened. He wrenches open the gear locker and starts suiting up in the insulated equipment and rebreathing equipment that firefighters require to enter bulidings like that. He gets fully suited up by the time the fennec reappears and curses. "Jesus fucking christ you stupid fennec!" he growls and stops over, he motions to the goat, "Get on a hose and keep the fire from spreading, or help the collie with hers" he scowled, even just one other fire-fighter here would be so much better... "Get them away from the fire before you give them aid Fenia!" he shouts at her and stomps over to the side of the building to evacuate the ferals' Len had discovered. He still had to get control on the north side of the building before the fire spread. He grabs both of the ferals and tosses them over his shoulder like heavy sacks and jogged back over to the fire truck. He lays them out for fenia and helps her move the other three. He immediately pours water on Magnus' armor, lowering the temperature before turning to the others, "situation?" he asks to fenia.

The fox coughs out some smoke and hisses sharply as his armor cools down. It felt like his skin was rubbing raw against it. "Grrh, sticks and stones." He answers as he reaches into his pocket, pulling out a small flask from within. He unscrews the tip and brings it to his lips, taking a few sips of the still hot liquid within. Hot or not, booze was great for dulling the pain. He downs the rest and breathes a soft sigh of relief. He turns over onto his back and draws in a few deep breaths, the cold air clearing his head gradually as his body quickly gets to work repairing its injuries. "Man, what a rush..." he'd croak softly, chuckling with a smirk tugging at his lips. Deep down, he was an adrenaline junkie, and this? For all his injuries, for all the sizzling, burning pain, he never felt more alive than in moments like these~

Looking on over the building, Poppy could only look on in a small manner of concern as the she hosed down the adjacent building. It wasn't much, but it might at least prevent the fire from spreading. The rest of it was simply hoping it didn't fall on the building enough to escape the soaked area. Her attention though... admitidly... was not upon where she was spraying. A foolish desision, but her eyes were on others. The fennec lad and the argument between the firefighter. The medical wolf that flew about and tended to the wounded. The goat that ran about the other side of the building, some faint yelling all she could hear over the roar of the water and the blaze. Worry over people she might not be able to help. People who would have... unknown situations. Fortunantly for her, worry might have been something at the very least... helpful. The roaring inferno seemed to twist, turning slightly. Her ears perked, watching the building... move... "IT'S GOING TO COLAPSE! GET AWAY FROM THERE!" She shouted. Damn stupid firehose! She should be over there! Doing... something! Anything! Anything more than just... Waiting!

Fenia continues her attentions, only briefly pausing to work with Korune to move Magnus and the two badly burned ferals over the the truck, where she immediately resumes her work. First one then the other feral is given a surge of nanites and medical nanomagic, followed by an attempt at giving them water and painkillers, and another brief check with biomonitoring NM to see what might be still needed. The moment the Fennec coughs and hisses, she tries to pat his head reassuringly, finishing her work on the others for the moment before moving to him and focusing her Medical nanomagic, speeding his recovery with a small boost of nanites before working at a few zips on her armor and offering him something else to drink from, only a slight blush showing as she focuses on the medical NM repairing him to get him back on his feet and jabs him full of adrenaline from her trauma kit. Once he was up and the others were stable she would need to check those other two the goat-agent had found.. and fly around again to make sure the fire was still contained.. maybe those windows on the north side?.., and help with the hoses if she got an opportunity... Just so many tasks that needed doing, and fast!.. and then the wolfgirl whips her head up at that shout of warning... Those other Ferals!

Fenia spends 2000 builder mass for RP reasons.

Len backs away from the left side of the burning building, beating quite a hasty retreat now that rumors of the building collapsing are starting to fly. He feels like he'll shrivel up and die here in a bit, but he'll survive, and he goes to help Poppy on the fire hose.

Korune watches Fenia hoping for a response, however her focus was on her work, he does his own review of the situation and the silver goo spread onto the bodies of the two feral gryphons. He sees that one is clearly in need of nanomagic and shocks it with a medical nanomagic program. Almost immediately the builders get to work, taking on the program and restructuring the flesh of the lifeless gryphon. When he hears the warning of the building dropping. He moves away, happy that Fenia and Magnus were behind the truck safe from debris. The other two however, were not. He scrambles over to get them off the hose as the right side of the bulding gives way with a horrible wrenching and screeching. Metal and concrete are ejected as the weight of the upper structure forces the building apart. The chimera doesn't make it to the two before a large block of debris rolls out and collides with the collie. If the goat hadn't taken the hose, it would be loose and spraying wildly as Poppy is knocked to her feet. Korune doesn't waste time here and shouts to Len "Retreat to the truck, leave the hose!" as he scoops up the unconscious dog, blood trickling from her head wound, to take back to the safety of the truck. As he does, he is pelted and pierced by other debris, shielding his and Len's retreat. A length of re-bar finds its way into his wing and chunks of concrete pepper his armor and body before they finally get safe as the rest of the building falls onto itself.

*thud* Magnus' eyes widen as a piece of tossed rebarb lands between his legs. One inch higher and he'd have been hit in the most painful place you can injure a man. He quietly reaches into his backpack, and pulls out another flask of something, before downing it breathlessly... The taste of Fenia's healing was still lingering in his mouth, and he was quite thankful to the wolf girl, though in her hurry he hadn't even gotten the chance to thank her himself. Magnus reaches for his wrist, pulling on the armor plating to slowly begin peeling it off of his flesh. Gods, it stung... but the last thing he wanted was for his injuries to close up while that shit was heat-glued onto him.

Piece by piece he removes his armor, baring his singed body, grunting and growling, thankful for the booze's effects, imagining it'd be much more painful had he not been sloshed. Once he was done, well... let's just say he's looked better. A lot of his pelt was just gone, his body covered in burned patches, though thankfully nothing had seared in deep enough to affect his organs, or even muscles. "Just another day." he'd huff, reforming some clothes onto himself with a little bit of that sweet sweet disguise and clothing nanomagic, in this case the red shirt he was known to wear, and a pair of /very/ loose slacks... Still dazed and weak in the limbs, he doesn't even try to stand up yet.

Instead, the fennec simply lies back down and yawns widely, the intake of air agitating his throat, causing him to cough out a few more times. He tosses the now empty flask aside and simply bides his time, tossing a glance towards the ferals he'd dragged out. Listening to the way the building had come down, well... his guess was they'd have been paste now had he not done what he'd done. The rush was its own reward, but... this? He liked this. He wanted to do more of this sometime, as selfish as that may sound, it was what his own inspiration in life nudged him towards. He'd have to have another chat with her, sometime soon... share the experience.

Fenia takes a halfstep toward the collapsing building before the sight of the destruction and showering debris make her raise her wings defensively, trying to pick out the forms of the Chimera and the other agents from the sudden wave of smoky air. A sudden sense of mingles relief and worry surges when she sees then running back, the collie limp in Korune's arms. No time is wasted rummaging through that kit and preparing to give them what healing she can when they reach her, although the worry that the fire might still be spreading lingers in her mind... as does the fates of those other ferals. Did the venture to save the two now lying somewhat stabilized there just cost the lives of all those others?.. She cant think about that. Not now. The moment The others got behind the truck she would reach out and check them with her nanomagic, prioritizing poppy first. Both the collie and Korune would receive a shot of painkiller alongside an offered drink, The wolfgirl tossing a protien bar into her mouth to chew as she also checks up on Len, giving him the same offers if he was wounded. Although that did mean the stock of painkillers she had was now completely gone.. {Korune, The two worst are now stable, and Magnus is healing, about to check on the other two. I did not see anywhere the fire was breaking out, but the collapse likely threw embers everywhere.} She fully expects the Chimera to rush off again, and takes Poppy from him to lay her out alongside the other wounded, where she can look after her.

Len doesn't have to be told twice to abandon the hose. The creak, rumble, and then inevitable roaring crash of the collapsing building drives him back, running after Korune, attempting to shield himself from debris. A flaming piece of plywood does fall onto the goat's head, but his horns protect him well enough, and he shakes it off like nothing at all. "Fuck, is this gonna make it spread, you think?"

Korune grunts as he rips the re-bar from his wing and drops it to the ground, "It will do more to stifle the fire than anything, it will smolder for a bit, I need to go make sure the north side of the building is not an issue" he says and drops the rebreather tank and mask. "If you can get back on the hoses, do so, start working on snuffing out any of the last dregs of the fire" he orders giving the group of 8 safe and mostly sound behind the truck. The chimera prowls off into the dust and smoke. A few small drops of blood from his wing flicking off onto the party as a strong gust shows that the chimera has taken to the sky.

Fenia nods to the Chimera's words, glancing at Magnus and Len before moving to check and tend to the two unconscious ferals, and bandage poppy's head wound. Once everyone was stabilized, she moves to man one of the hoses, since Korune has already taken for role of watching and assessing from the sky. Hmm.. {I might need a hand with this, raw strength is something i tend to lack.} She messages back, and she starts to carry the hose forward.

Len nods as well, with a bleat, and he follows Fenia, to grab and man that hose with her, helping to direct that spray at the flames that are still guttering in the collapsed remains of the south side of the warehouse. "I think we almost got it!" he yells.

Korune scours the north side of the structure and notices a few areas where embers have cropped up and does his best to quench them. Smoke still rises from the structure as it smolders from the inside, however the worst of the heat was now mostly over and it was just a matter of time before the water would extinguish the rest of the fires still going on inside the shell of the collapsed building. He returns to the fire truck and mans the hose on the left, ensuring to give his stream a high arc to cover more of the north side of the ruins. Now that the worst of the worst was over, he huffs still agitated that the fennec had done what they had done. However after looking over their body, they had clearly paid a price for the endevour. He would still lecture them later... but for now it was mostly over. After an hour, the last smolders finally die away and the chimera closes the nozzle on his hose. "Close it up!" he shouts to the other hose team. He returns to the truck to get on his boots and the long steel poker to see if there was anything still burning under the debris.

By then, Magnus had pretty much regained his ability to stand. He was leaned agaisnt a police car and coordinating with some of the backup that he'd summoned at the start of this. Typical bullshit he had to deal with, give answers, provide details, pull the ferals off for rehabilitation with the Prometheans, be given a dirty look by the dirty girl in office, Maddie the Doberman girl. He had declined their requests for evacuation to the triage several times over, and while he was still in bad shape, it was a fact he was recovering, already able to stand as it were. For now, he simply bides his time and idly converses with the others. Seems he had a few things to say to the Police Chief again. What a lovely meeting that is going to be.

Fenia gives a grateful glance to Len as he joins her and works with her to douse those smoldering flames, and she nods to his yell, ears flicking. {Yeah! I thought it was really going to break out, but i guess the collapse snuffed most of it.} She sends back, even as she squints her eyes against the smoke still thick in the air. Once backup had arrived and the fire was contained, she planned on trying to finish up fixing Magnus's burns.. and the Chimera, after seeing him pull that hefty length of rebar from his wing. Poppy herself was pretty stable, mostly just unconscious rather than otherwise injured now.

Len nods his head again. The fire seems to be mostly entirely put out now. Thank goodness for that. He wipes his brow and sighs. "Jeez, I still feel so hot, though. This fur has been murder in the heat..." His ears flick, as he watches Korune poking around. "Is it all out?" he calls out. "Need us to bring the hose in closer?"

Korune shakes his head, "Just stay on standby for the moment, he prowls over the rubble and debris, poking at the ruins, then feeling the tip of the poker. This goes on for several long minutes until he saunters back over and kills the pumps on the engine. "All done, thanks so much for the help. If we didn't respond this could have destroyed half the block or worse." he says, "I need to get the hoses rolled back up and the gear stowed. I have to go speak to the officers first however. You're free to go." he offers to Len and Fenia and prowls toward the Fennec. "A word Magnus?" he asks next to the group of officers.

"The bird." Magnus winks and crosses his arms, nose scrunching up a little as his flesh was still raw from the burns. Ow... refrain fron friction of all sorts. "Haven't you heard? The bird is the word!" He'd jest, earning a roll of Maddie's eyes as she returns to her comm call a few feet away. "What a mess. Gonna be a long day at the office, but... eehhhh... not really my thing to do anyway. Besides, it's off-hours for me. For all intents and purposes I am a civilian on the weekends and that's right fine by me!" He'd stretch out widely and... ow... more friction. "Been a while, firebutt. You're looking well. What do you want to talk about?"

Fenia sighs and grins at Len as the fires seem out, and moves to haul the hose back to the truck when told she can leave. {Anything you want me to patch up? as I'm about to check on the sleepers and then go poke into that conversation.} She enquires of him, and does her best to fix up and scrapes or bruises, a healing drink available for if he needs. She would have chatted more, but the two banged-up conversationalists over there seem to need another presence. She then uses biomonitoring to check on each feral and poppy in succession, even as they are loaded onto gurneys to be taken to the hospital. Poppy at least, should be good to go the moment she wakes up, with no lingering injuries or damage. The ferals are a different story, but thats out of her hands for now. A short walk later, and she waves to the two confronting each other, reaching out to put a hand on both as she assesses and checks how they are going. {Well, your both battered but whole, feel free to get some healing~} She mentally offers, trying for a cheery, teasing tone.

Len wipes his brow again, and sighs. "Could use some water," he replies to Fenia's query. "My throat's quite parched..." He also clops over toward Korune and Magnus. The goat wants to see how this goes down.

Korune nods and follows the fennec a small distance from the patrol car and their acquaintance. "Firebutt huh... I only look well because I didn't run INTO a actively burning building without the proper PPE. I just wanted you to know that some risks aren't worth taking, If you had gotten turned around or hurt in there, it would be ME going in to find you. And don't even try to sugarcoat this with the two ferals that you were able to save. Furthermore, I would appreciate it if in the future, we followed protocol for scene and crisis management and not send the volunteers scattering around the area trying to do anything and everything. If they get hurt, that just adds to the casualty count. On a hose, safe and to the rear, is the best place for someone without the training Magnus. Regardless, we got the fire out and everything mostly back together." He turns to fenia, "Nah I'm good, its already mostly healed, and the bruises will take a tad longer, but nothing significant. He turns to look at Len, then back at magnus, "Claps both of them on the shoulders. Thanks and good work!" he says and saunters back to the fire truck to get everything finished and put away.

The fennec rolls his eyes so hard one could see the whites of his eyes for a moment there. "Golly jee, mom. I'll be careful next time, pinky swear. Sorry to disappoint you, but you have absolutely no authority over me, and you never fuckin' will, so I suggest you deal with that." Magnus answers with a soft growl. "You sound just like the police chief. Suuuure, let's let the crooks get away because they're no longer in our jurisdiction, yeah... let's let the victims burn to death and get crushed under the falling building because... protocol. No. I'm here to save lives, even if it means taking risks. If you wanna play it safe, be my guest. But at the very least don't stand in my way. I signed on with the police force to save lives, god fuckin' damn it, and that's EXACTLY what I'm gonna do."

Seeing her message ignored, Fenia frowns and watches, but stays silent and still aside from unbuckling her canteen and passing it over to Len as he walks up, nodding to him. {Feel free to drink as much of that as you want, i can just fly over to grab a refill.} The way Magnus and Korune send sparks off each other is a little worrying, but since they don't really need to interact to achieve anything now, she just watches the exchange.

Korune stops his movement toward the truck and sighs, "If it had been two ferals, a fennec, and a chimera burned to ash and buried in there today, who in your life would you want to see around the empty casket?" he asks somberly him before contining his sauntering pace toward the fire truck to finish his work. The stubborn streak of the fennec was frustrating to deal with, yet they were still an asset AND a liability. Korune clears his head of what happened, the milk was spilt, and the mess wasn't major, at least this time. He makes some mental notes to keep the free-willed fennec more occupied next time if any such idealogical thinking was even possible. He starts storing the hoses and the gear, and shuffling debris about and away from the truck. "Man Willy is gunna kill me when I show him the truck..." he says under his breath looking at the numerous dents, dings and scratches, to include a broken windshield that the fire-truck had suffered.

Len accepts the canteen gratefully, and he tips back, taking a long drink of that cool, clear water. That hit's the spot, whew. He gulps it down in silence for several moments, before sating his need. Otherwise, he's just going to watch this argument with Fenia.

The fennec shakes his head and moves over to hug Fenia. "Thanks for the patch job, you have talent." He casts her a wink and snickers softly "Fenia, was it? Gonna have to look you up later, I owe you a drink, or several, for the treatment." He hears Madeline calling from behind, then waves to her and shakes his head, signaling that he won't be leaving with her. Turning back towards the others, he casts Len a soft wink, having barely exchanged a word with him, before cracking his knuckles and bobbing his head towards the ferals. "The freaks are alright? Good. The prometheans are gonna eat them up, I swear they get off to victim situations like these or something. Hopefully they can get their brains unscrambled. Could use more tough bodies around here. I gotta say though, you look familiar somehow..." The fox squints slightly and looksher over, as though trying to figure out where last he'd seen her. "Hmmm... it'll probably come to me later. You probably remind me of my sister, she's... well, bit of a medicine nut. In a good way, and... a slightly annoying, talk-you-ears-off way... and I have a lot of ears so I'd know." the vulpine jests~

Fenia looks over her shoulder at Korune as he retreats, still a bit iffy about that wing.. but hey, he's a big Chimera, so it should be ok. As Magnus steps forward to hug her she makes sure to return it gently, not wanting to aggravate his burns. A soft purr replies to his words, and she nods. {Yeah, Fenia. It can be tricky to catch me when im free, but don't let that stop you trying, I'll manage to gets those drinks sometime.} A final pat and a impulsive scritch behind those fennec ears later, and she releases him, nodding curiously to the words about his sister. Hmm, definitely another one to meet sometime.. although she is reminded of a certain Talakai.

Len steps on over toward the fennec, and looks him up and down. "You look like shit... But here's my comm number. Gimme a call sometime." He leans closer, and grins. "I mean, call me if you like goats..." He smirks, then turns slowly. "Glad we saved the world this time, though..."
