The setting was fairly modest all things considered, the racing ring much the way it's always been, kept neat and well maintained. What few racers were usually around now had the day off as the track had been cleared and given a temporary new purpose. Among the stands where the crowd would sit and enjoy the races were perched a few tables, lined with all sorts of snacks and treats. There were drinks and delicacies of all sorts, sweet and salty, bitter and mild, spicy and bland it mattered not.

Magnus meanwhile was dressed much the same he always was. Just a pair of knee-length camo cargo shorts, a white T'shirt and nothing else. He'd be conversing with the guests, every so often taking a donation or two either digitally or physically in the form of chips or valuables. The entry was, ofcourse, free. However the presence of security was scarcely apparent, though quite real. From time to time, the sound of the starting gun would be heard, as folks tried to complete the daily goal set. To beat the yearly best lap times of 2018!

A dark-furred kitsune clothed in a casual grey button-down shirt and worn jeans enters the stands and makes his way over to the snack table. He had heard there was some sort of event going on today, and the prospect of making a bit of money was quite the enticement to break normal routines. He gravitates towards some of the spicier sausage and cheese snacks, making little bite-sized sandwiches. He glances around to see if there was anyone here he recognized and immediately spots the fennec. Making his way over, he gives a brief wave and says, "Hey Mags, how're you today? Nice set up you have here. Figured I'd try my hand at stealing away some winning from here." He gives a wide grin before tossing another snack in his mouth.

The fox was in the middle of a conversation with one of the locals, a female husky with a coat of fiery fur, not lireally, just a vibrant shade of deep orange. As Zen nears, she listens in and casts him an odd look, Magnus as well. "Eh? Steal winnings? No no no no no." He'd shake his head. "This is a charity. Sorry to burst you bubble or anything, but you don't really steal from a charity. I don't need to be telling you that though."

"I think I'm gonna go get another guard to watch the lockbox." the husky states as she sets her drink down on the table beside them, then walks off without another word. "Aaaanyway..." Magnus would go on "I intend to help the EMT service by collecting and giving funds for em'."

"Truth be told it was an excuse to throw a party and load up on snacks. I have cash to spare and nothing to use it on, so here we are. ANYWAY!" his hands clasp. "If you have a racer or want to try the laps youself, for every person that beats the best laptimes of 2018 I will donate one million creds to the EMT for new equipment. And just to make things even more interesting, if someone manages to beat ME in a race, then I'll sign up for First Aid lessons and join the EMT myself!"

Theresa makes her way into the arena, looking about a bit, showing that she hasn't visited before. The vixen soon caugh eye of the drink, wandering over to have something to sip at. The second thing that catches her gaze is the fennec. Making her way over, she raises a hand in greeting. "So, gone all charity on us, huh?" The kitsune woman giggles. "Excuse for a party? Parties excuse themselves in my world. The vixen seems to think a little. "The EMT, huh?"

Zen gives a nervous chuckle and says, "Right, right, donations for charity and all." He glances towards the track where he can see a few racers sprinting through the course, "Well, it does sound like it is for a good cause. Not sure I could beat you in a foot race, but the idea of 'you' being an EMT responder is pretty entertaining. Maybe I'll have to give you a run for it." As the other kitsune approaches, Zen turns to her and gives a quick once over. "Oh, hello there. I don't believe I've seen you around before." He offers a handshake and says, "I'm Zen."

Seeing Theresa approach, Magnus perks an ear and listens to her works, his muzzle tugging into a smirk as she teases him about the event. "Oh no! I am trying to do a good! Woe is you for this sudden mind-shattering change of pace! Pffsh." he'd wave it off and roll his eyes. "That's true, parties are their own excuses by all damn means but a fella can change things up every so often. Besides, what are you, jealous I won't spend my riches spoiling you or something?" the fox winks and swings a hand to strike the kitsune's ass. "Enjoy the snacks, Tess. Thanks for coming. I still owe ya some... special... treatment." Magnus winks slyly before turning towards Zen. "Sure. You try anything dirty though and I'm afraid I'll have to have to have you "escorted" out." the fennec warns and cracks his knuckles. "Down that platform and through the hall towards the starting line, whenever you're ready."

Theresa smiles at the other kitsune. "Theresa, but do call me Tess...I don't like to be formal." She shakes his hand, looking him up and down rather blatantly. "Pleased to mee-ack!" The vixen jumps as te hand collides with her rear, but glances to the fennec and smirks. "Yeah, you still owe me a spoiling...so maybe?" The vixen jokes. "Buuut...I don't think I'm much of a runner...I'm certainly not dressed for it."

Zen gives a smirk to Magnus, "Oh, hah, I wouldn't want to get thrown out now, would I. Well... not before my racer has a chance to show her stuff in any case." He smiles and says, "Though, I can always afford a bit of exercise. Maybe I'll race you after the next bout?". He finishes the handshake with Tess and nods, "Tess then? Heh, good to meet ya. Sounds like you and Magnus are already pretty 'friendly' with one another, hmm?". He gives a toothy smile to Magnus as he turns to head closer to the track, "Well, my racer should be up soon... I wonder what that time to beat is..."

"I'm friendly with most of Fairhaven." the fennec winks and gives Theresa a teasing hip-bump. Moving over towards the railing of the track, he'd raise a finger and point at the electronic board, a primitive thing but it did its job, showing the time of the participants and the time to beat. Seems it was 97 seconds, and the closest thing anyone came to beating the lap time of 2018 was 102 seconds. "If you have a racer, go talk to Jimmy, he's down there and handles the stalls and the lineup. Doesn't look like anyone's making a try right now, so..." he'd shrug deeply as his finger points towards a cranky looking gorilla mutant down by the starting line. "By the way." Magnus yanks Zen down and whispers something into his ear, then releases him and pats his shoulder, before returning to Theresa and snagging some cookies from the table. "Are you being modest or are you trying to keep that girlish figure? I like my girls soft around the thighs anyway." he'd tease and stick his tongue out at the kitsune.

Theresa downs her drink and snickers. "Friendly? You could say that. But I like some variety, so if you want to try your luck..." Her tone is sultry and she smirks at the other kitsune. "Buut, you've got a race, no?" The vixen glances to Magnus. "Nah, that comes naturally, with all mu excercise...only one real way to add some more roundness to me." She leans in and pecks his cheek, though glances between the two. "What are you two whispering for?"

Zen smiles and gives Tess and teasing brush with one of his many tails before softly saying, "Mmmh, maybe I'll have to roll the die then. Heh, see if luck is on my side." He starts to head over to Jimmy, seeing about getting his racer a chance to show her stuff. When Magnus pulled him down, he gives just a quick nod before smiling at Tess, "Hehe, wouldn't you like to know? Don't worry, I can assure you it is nothing bad."

"Nothing that concerns you!" the fennec interjects and presses a finger against his lover's nose. "Keep that sniffer out of my business, else I won't push mine into yours anymore, and if I recall correctly, you moaned loud enough to be heard across town last time that happened." Magnus sticks his tongue out at her. "Exercise, huh? Is that what you call riding cock these days?" the male waggles his brows.

As they converse, more guests would arrive. Not much of note, just a polar bear with a baseball cap on his head and a pair of bunny mutants. The white-furred ursine pauses to ask one of the guards something, then locks his gaze onto Magnus. He approaches and casts a smile. "Hello, just here to make a small donation. Hope it helps." In his massive hand was a small chip, one of the many means by which currency is exchanged these days.

Magnus plucks it and shakes the male's hand. "Thanks fella! Enjoy the food!" he'd gesture towards the tables, earning a nod and a huff from the bear. "Ooooh, those bacon strips to look great." he'd rumble, then join the rest of the crowd assaulting the food supply. Magnus meanwhile stashes the new donation in a lockbox to his right, where two canines seemed to be idly hanging around... a bit suspiciously some might think.

Jimmy growls deeply and shakes his head, then heads into the stables to ready Zen's racer. In a few moments, they'd hear the starting gun pop and the race starts. Peering over one shoulder, Magnus looks down at the running mutants. "That thing's fast, no doubt about that." Once the lap finishes, the sign above them reads 99 seconds. "Fastest time yet! But not there, two seconds off." he'd shrug deeply. "Better luck next time."

Theresa reacts with mock offense. "First, it's not polite to whisper amongst others. Secondly, my excercise comes from running, dancing...and riding a lot of cock." She sticks her tongue out at him. She gives Zen a sympathetic smile. "Aww, it was close." As the the bear donates, she seems to think a little, smiling mischievously. "Hmmm..."

Zen watches from the sideline as his racer scurries through the course. When the time is recorded, he gives a slight sigh before giving a nod to Jimmy, "Yeah, she is for sure, but just short. I wonder which racer managed to set that record anyway? Certainly a tough time to beat." He waits over at the staging area for his racer to return, ready to praise her and giving a few reassuring scratches. "Hey Jimmy, is this a one and done sort of deal, or can the racers give it another shot? Tailwind here can certainly use a break, but I bet she'd be up for trying it again in a bit." He waits around for Jimmy to return his answer before heading back up into the stands to get himself some more snacks and converse with some of the other guests.

Upon returning he gives a smile to Tess and responds, "Yeah, she was close, but I guess it was last year's best time for a reason. He 'just' managed to hear a bit of the other remark too, flashing a toothy smile. "Heh, my my, exercise with another is 'quite' the motivator, huh?" His tails flick gently behind him as he continues, with a seductive tone, "Well, you ever need some help with your routine..." He lets that remark hang in the air a bit before giving a light laugh.

"That was so cheesy I could taste it." Magnus comments. Those ears were quite acute it seems as he sticks his tongue out at Zen. "I'm honestly surprised nobody was able to beat the time... at this rate the EMT will barely earn enough to afford some new tools, let alone the massive improvements I had planned." Just as he finishes speaking, so would the husky from before pat his shoulder and clear her throat. She'd place two fingers on her wrist and bob her head towards the entrance.

This seems to earn some understanding from Magnus, and the fennec rubs his hands together. "Right! I need to be right back." he'd announce, passing by Theresa to give her ass a firm squeeze before moving towards the nearby door, into the inner structures of the racing ring. More mutants start to wander in, a male gator, a grey-furred ferret girl and two felines it seems! The twins pause by one of the guards, while the ferret makes her way towards the railing and leans over it, watching the race below. The gator steps towards Theresa and taps her shoulder, "Pardon, I'm looking for Marcus, Marcus Jenkins, he's a kitsune a lot like you. Do you happen to know him? About the same height as you, bright orange fur, he spends a lot of time here and the rest at you folks' shrine. It's a bit of an emergency."

Theresa smirks at Zen "Very forward...I like that." The comment from Magnus makes her giggle. "Mmhmm, and if anyone knows cheese, it's you." The vixen teased back "But...if you two are going to race...how about a small bet. If if Mags wins, I pay 1 million freecred to the EMT. If he loses...well, we've already got it established that he joins the EMT." She pecked the fennec's cheek as he left. The request from the gator makes her arch a brow. "No, I'd have remembered a kitsune like that I'd think. Sorry that I couldn't help." She gives them an apolegetic smile.

A latex snow leopard enters from the lobby area, dressed in a soft leather waistcoat and skirt over some metallic leggings. Having heard about the charity event for the benefit of the Fairhaven medical services she knew she had to head over and check it out, curious to see how much was being raised for her fellow paramedics. Looking around the crowd, she spots a couple of familiar faces and heads over to greet them. "Hey Zen, Magnus" she calls out with a friendly wave. "Seems I'm a little late, have I missed all the fun"

Zen cracks up as Magnus calls him out, "Yeah, heh, what can I say! I just can't stop myself." He glances to the husky as she steals some of Magnus's attention, the subtle nod to the entrance causes him to glance that way as well, glancing at the new arrivals. With Tess's remark and Magnus moving further away he gives the fennec another call out, "Sounds like I'll be racing you when you get back, win-win for your charity, and who knows maybe anohter shot at beating that last year's record." He gives him a nod as he leaves the gathering to glance back towards the railing where the ferret. His ears flit at the gator's giving him an appologetic shake of his head, figuring he would be asked next, "Yeah, sorry, I'm not too familiar with that name either." When he sees Kamryn his tails flare up some with an excited wave. He looks at Kam and nods towards the railing, indicating that he would like to speak with her there, giving a similar smile and nod to Tess. He casually walks over to the railing that overlooked the track, leaning up against the railing by the ferret and giving her a once over. "Hey Kam, figured I'd see you here since the EMT is sort of your business after all. Come to see if you can't get a bit of extra funding for your department?" He says while looking to the latex snow leopard. He then glances to the ferret and asks a similar question, "What about you, have any racers slated to run, or do you plan on entering yourself?"

The grey-furred woman casts Zen an odd look and shakes her head. She'd huff out her nose and exclaim. "I... no. I came to make a donation, yes." her gaze wanders around the crowd, as though looking for someone or something. "Where does one make their deposits?" the ferret asks, her tone as soft as silk and her gaze beguiling, sensual in a way, calming, soothing even. She had a bit of a slavic accent to her as well, a light twist added to the way she'd pronounce her vowels, though not much else was of note about her. All she wore was a loose shirt and a pair of right fitting denim jeans, no weapons to be seen anywhere.

"Really?" The gator from earlier answers and crosses his arms. "Well that's a shame... I hope you don't mind if I look around, then." he'd note with a low growl and move away, headed towards the upper stands with a heavy footfall. Magnus was out of sight, where had he gone? The starting gun rings out once more, and another race begins! This time it was a husky of all things on the track! She makes her lap and finishes with a time of... alas... 109 seconds, far too slow to really capitalize on the win condition. Its owner was heard cursing in the background, a feline of ill temper it might appear.

Theresa shrugs "Feel free? It's not like I'm the owner." The vixen smiles at Zen "I hope you're up for doing your best." She giggles, though not seeming worried about the results. She gives the latex snowleopard a nod and a smile, though her attention drifts to the track. "Well, with how this is going, it looks like the EMT's are going to stay poor."

The snow leopard heads over to where Zen is leaning on the railing to join him, quietly chuckling to herself as his remark to the ferret tickles her sometimes immature sense of humour. "Yeah I thought I'd better come see what was happening, fly the flag, that sort of thing. Also to keep an eye on our generous benefactor over there" she says with a grin, nodding towards the entrance that Magnus had recently disappeared through. Frowning, she adds "Never did find out what he was up to that night in the alleyway". She sighs, shaking her head and brightening up again as she turns to the other kitsune to introduce herself. "Hi, I'm Kamryn" she says, extending a hand before adding "Zen here not causing too much trouble I hope?" and reaching back with her tail to stroke his chest behind her. She quickly turns as the starting pistol fires, watching the husky run the track. "Yeah, it looks like we'll have to keep repairing our old gear at this rate. I'll have to give Slingshot a run, see how she fares"

Zen gives the ferret a nod and proceeds to answer her question, "Oh, right, the benefactor just stepped away. He'll be back in a short while. Just relax and enjoy the food while he isn't here. I'm sure he'd like to thank you personally for your contribution after all." He glances around to some of the other guests before adding, "We have a bit of a race to do anyway, I'm just hoping he isn't in peak performance. Not that I count myself as slow... but I've seen how quick he can move."

Turning his head to Tess, Zen nods, "Yeah, suppose it is a win-win for the EMTs. But yeah, heh, pulling out a win would feel pretty self gratifying too. You can trust that I'll be giving it my all. After all, it would nice to beat that record too." With a sigh he glances at the time, "Well, at least there are some that are getting close... and at least there are a few giving it an attempt in spite of the difficulty. I'm sure that even the smaller donations will help in some way."

Facing Kam, Zen gives her a mock-offended look. "Oh, come on now! Is giving people trouble the first impression you have of me?" He says with a teasing brush of his tails. He rolls his shoulder and smirks, "Well, getting up to a bit of mischief is always fun too." He grins to Kam and says, "I had Tailwind try earlier. She got the lowest time today, but still didn't manage to beat the record. You can speak with Jimmy down at the track to get your racer entered, the gorilla right there." He then points to the person referenced, the same one he spoke to before.

The ferret raises a brow as she is suddenly surrounded by people. Her maw opens to answer the question but a sharp yip resonates behind her. "GOTCHA!" T'was Magnus, and in his hands he held the very jeans the ferret girl had been wearing. Her eyes go wide and she looks down at herself before squeaking sharply! "DAMN IT MAGNUS!" her voice rings out loudly, hand swiping to snag the jeans he was dangling on one finger from him. "I knew it! I knew it, I knew you'd do this!" she'd puff her cheeks out and cross her arms while the fennec laughs his ass off.

He'd guffaw and giggle, chortle and snicker, laughing until tears streamed down his face. "Sorry sis." he'd finally calm down and give the ferret a punch on the shoulder. "Hah! Everyone, this is Julie. She's my sister, well one of the many half-siblings I have. I met her when I was off training my swordsmanship. She's one of the students." The girl however gives her brother a shove and huffs.

"Aw, come on... better luck next time." the fennec gives his sibling a pat, then offers a hug. With a small deal of smoldering bitterness, Julie does accept it, rolling her eyes and giving her brother a hug so tight his spine crackles. "Ow, ow, ow..." he'd wheeze, only to be released moments later. "Thanks for the cover." the fennec tosses at Zen, and corrects the damage that squeeze had done to his spinal collumn with a wide stretch backwards. "Hey Kam." he'd greet as he spots her.

Theresa nods at Kamryn and shakes her hand. "Theresa, but do call me Tess." The vixen giggles "No, no...not so far. He's not been naughty yet." She glances to Zen, smirking. "I'd hope so...I'm sure we can find out some sort of...reward if you do well." She looks at the kitsune's collar though, then to Kamryn. "So...is he your pet or something?" The vixen rolls her eyes at the fennec's antics, but gives te ferret a nod and smile.

Kamryn chuckles at Zen. "Well, it's not the _first_ thing I think of" she says innocently, "but I know how much you dislike your usual nickname...". She smirks at him, purring gently as he returns the tail stroke. As Magnus pops back up behind his apparent sister she laughs, shaking her head in a mixture of amusement and sympathy. "Commiserations there Julie, I know what it's like to have a prankster in your life" she says with a glance to Zen, "and it looks like he's keeping it up, despite his protestations".

"Nice to meet you Tess", she says to the other kitsune. "And no, Zen's not my pet - he's my mate, or one of them at least". She reaches up to touch her collar. "We have these as more of a symbol of our relationship, kind of a more informal relationship version of a wedding ring". With a grin, she adds "If you're thinking of the kind of 'reward' I think you are, then I'm fine with that - it's certainly a good way of motivating him to win"

Greeting the fennec again, she grins and says "So, if you lose a race here, you'll be joining us emergency medics? I've got the perfect uniform for you..."

Zen snickers at the Fennec's prank, awarding it with a wide grin. "Heh, Julie then? Good to meet ya. Looks like you and your brother get along pretty well. From your reaction it seems like this is a reoccuring theme!" He steals a glance down to her bare legs and underware, assuming she had some of course. It 'was' the perfect opportunity to steal a peek while she was giving Magnus a squeeze after all. Before she turns around to face him again, Zen's gaze corrects itself be on her face, trying to spare her some extra embarrassment.

His ears flit to Tess as she asks Kam a question. "A-ah, pet? No, no... well.. I mean, perhaps a bit of roleplay here and there... but..." He answers seeming a bit flustered at the accusation and rubbing his collar. He walks over to cam and gives her a warm squeeze around the waist. "We are on a more level relationship..." He says with a brief pause, "Of couse, that doesn't mean we don't get down to some... kinky kinds of fun." His tails flicker a bit curiously behind him at the other kitsune's remark, "Mmmh, now I'll 'really' have to give it my all!"

Turning to Kamryn and giving her a nuzzle he says, "Ah, you wouldn't want some boring old day to day routine, would you? Variety is the spice of life after all! Mmmh, and you know how much I like it spicy." He chuckles a bit at his own remark before adding, "Great, now I feel like I have even more riding on me! Haha, but not to worry, I don't think I under-preform under pressure."

He looks to Magnus and gives a nod to the track, "Well, what do you say? Maybe a quick little race to see if I can't create an upset?" He looks Magnus up and down again, "Here is hoping you are feeling a bit tired."

"Well that's too bad cause you're not the one in charge of the EMT, and even if you were I won't listen to you." the fennec gives Kamryn's nose a boop. "Anywho..." he'd glance at his watch and sigh "Looks like it's almost time to close up for now. I only managed to get away with a few hours worth of closing down the racetrack for this event. If we're gonna be doing this raze, Zen. Now's the time. I'll meet you on the track." he'd nod and hook a thumb behind himself before cartwheeling his way off towards the lower areas where the starting line was located. There, the fennec would be seen poking a few jokes at the keeper, trying to turn that eternal frown on his face upside-down.

Theresa blinks a little, then breathes a sigh of relief. "Heh, well...we'll see how well he runs." She smirks. "And nice to hear, after all, don't want to intrude on something...though, if you wanted to watch or join..." The vixen giggles and leans in to whisper at Zen. "Just remember to focus." Only then does she make her way to the edge to watch the track. As the race starts, she calls out "Hey Magnus!" And pulls her top off, flashing him in an attempt to distract the fennec.
