DRAFT - This page is REALLY a draft, it's currently in the initial creation and checking stages; please ask SCIENCE and/or NEWBIE for help!

Basic Commands Everyone Should Use
editplayer - There _are_ two pages. You probably do NOT WANT auto level up. +jnote - Did you pick a flaw that affects the future of your build? (E.G. All Natural, Alien Self, Feral Mode, Mutant Powered) +help class - Have you picked a character class? Read all 4+ help entries, eventually. Is it giving you what your build type needs? list class - Lists all the classes that exist Doesn't list if they're Dedications, Quest Rewards, Token Shops, or event triggered. (The Wiki might be a good check.) role - Did you pick a role that suits what you're doing? Survivor is OK if you picked it after considering the rest. +rpinfo (class|role|power|Perk/merit|Quirk|many items...)
Improving Drops: XP, Salvage, Vials, Reward Tokens
Training (spending that XP in good places) and Perks are the general answer. The Science and Newbie chat channels can also help you talk it out.
https://flexiblesurvival.com/index?training (or in any of the places you can train) +help train train Lowering the cost of having many points of training (bottom half) Comprehension max (40) + the perk Breadth of Experience
FIXME: Copied from my additions to the Crafting page, move to checkup guide, and cross-link.
FIXME: https://wiki.flexiblesurvival.com/w/Crafting_Tutorial#Tips_for_getting_started
FIXME: XP references
search has more dangerous, powered up, forms.
search frenzy (2pp) Do a frenzy search, summoning faster mutants with increased rewards(costs 2 pp)
Roughly 6x the ng of builder nanites, maybe 3x the Freecred and Salvage, and maybe 2x the XP.
search mega (10pp) Do a mega search, summoning harder mutants with increased rewards(costs 10 pp)
Someone who is able to solo this, 11x drop rates? The current writer can clearly see the enemy HPBuffered absorbing much less than lower search mobs dmg.
search mega frenzy (20pp) Do a mega frenzy search, summoning harder, faster mutants with increased rewards(costs 20 pp)
search <form you want to find> (base + 1pp) Do a search for a specific form, increasing the chance of that form showing up(costs 2 pp)
XP vs Freecred
XP is based on (the character's) true level, so make sure to spend that XP over all of the area upgrades over time, rather than on just on character levels. You probably do NOT WANT to auto level up (at least past level 10/15). So use editplayer and disable that.
It's possible to search in an area up to 'max level' (listed in +haz) PLUS 2. An example for a Level 40 (true level) player in the Marshy Swamp (with easiest + mobs on the web-sliders). With one plus medibot versus 3 enemies; while mentored to Lv38, 0.8 XP and 5340 Freecred and while unmentored (Lv 40), 46.5 XP and 1560 Freecred.
Salvage and Builder Nanites
+help Getting Started/Salvage Please read the above, it explains why if you want salvage you should spend XP on 'crafting' skills at the top of Possibly: Pack Rat class, for Scavenger 2, from the Mall
The Basic Nanite Collector is the worst in all dimensions, and submitting a web-crafting request to get it upgraded can help if you're not getting the full drop rate or need a lighter load-out. Or jumping up to the Ultimate Nanite Collector (40 mako + crafting, decide on route).
Improved Nanite Collector=Heavy,Narrow,Miniaturized,Overwhelming,Nanite Magnetic
Nanitecollection_______________________4.12______ Improved Nanite Collector 4.12 138.0 Nanitecollectrate_____________________41.25______ Improved Nanite Collector 41.25 138.0
If you're already boosting the collection rate then other parts of your character sheet might be the limiting factor. Computer Proficiency (see training at the top of the section on drops) and some Perks improve the drop rate as well.
Reward Tokens
+bounty
+help bounty
Crafting Bounty: | This can be accomplished entirely via web-crafting if you want (or if you want to craft things later you can try to slowly pick up the components you can use at the time). |
Monster Bounty: | atrace Area, or rtrace Room and search (hopefully you get lucky and find the mob). Only the mob and area name matter. |
Boss Bounty: | self explanatory? Bring a Boss Battle group of friends. (Asking on LFG recommended.) |
DNA Research: | You need to be able to breed |
Behavior Research: | Show up to Zephyr B1, east and Volunteer. Also the Promethean (north of town) have a lab where you RP while in that form to gather tokens per RP tick (requires a partner, payout chance increases with body-slots infected). |
RP Hot Spot: | Does this drop tokens? I've not noticed an actual increase in XP or items over using a salvage hotspot. It's probably better than random rooms. |
Holiday Forms: | This is more to remind you to check these off the list. |
Tips:
Daily Boss Bounty at Maximum Difficulty and Quantity is 20 tokens. +20% per point Driven Combat (class skill) Rare Salvage might be traded
FIXME: Are there any other ways of earning Reward Tokens?
FIXME: Does this work: Volunteer at Zephyr first, THEN do the RP research with the Prometheans?
Party (Battle / RP)
There's a "party" system that's mostly intended for battle, but is also useful for RP groups (keeping everyone in one group). It's documented on the muck, once you know what the help commands are:
party #help pjoin #help pleave (for quick reference)
Combat - Preparing
Mastering (keeping) Powers
ps - Search for Powers based on filters. More on that under the Power Selection section. help train - Train various things, like mastery of mutant powers so they can be remembered across forms and ... +help Combat/Upgrades upgrade - ... also upgrade trained powers to make them better upgrade dojo - A quick way of teleporting to [New Dawn]: Patrick's Dojo, one of the spots you can use the train command. (It's a little north of Fairhaven and Zeyphr / RSX HQs)
While at a place like the upgrade dojo...
list upgrades turnin +nisd (Note the value number on the right hand column!)
While the dojo does have a set of '0 rated' upgrades for sale for cheap, and while those ARE better than NO upgrades, the end goal is to collect high level vials and turn those in (turnin) for more powerful upgrades.
Status And Combat Commands
effects - Detailed list what you're currently affected by, both positive and negative statuses - Quick list of status magnitudes (but not source breakdown or duration) sheet - A partial set of character details, including HP bar, energy bar, wounds, and mentor level +haz - What's in an area +nisd #search here - What vials can drop here. mentor - For adjusting level to fighting in an area. (FIXME: mid level for area? Range base to max+2)
Energy Equipment
Powers are useless if you lack the energy to use them; generally only need one, maybe two at most. The items are listed as you'd use with test or make (if you make them without web-crafting after leveling up). Miniaturized can optionally be replaced by Overcharged if it works better for your build.
rest - Everyone gets this for free, upgradable for Mako energy snack=Energized,Enduring Effect,Miniaturized,Overwhelming,Narrow,Modular power gator=Energized,Enduring Effect,Miniaturized,Overwhelming ultraquench=Energized,Enduring Effect,Overcharged,Overwhelming
Try to Not Die
resists - How well you resist attacks and effects from attacks. Resists depends on the class and role you've chosen. Tanks: max Science (durability 3 or 4). Everyone else, hitting 2 is a 'nice to have'. Example of a new player, getting steamrolled frequently. resists Readout for: REDACTED Damage Types Immunity Resistance Max Elemental 0% 23 0/57.7 Generic 0% 0 0 Resistance is a flat damage reduction (up to 80%). Immunities are a percentage reduction. Max is the highest damage you can take before it falls under 80% resistance/The highest it can go before falling to 0%. ... After speaking with SCIENCE: Not fully better, but no longer going SQUISH in 5 rounds... Damage Types Immunity Resistance Max Elemental 0% 38 38/94.4 Generic 7% 15 37.5
How to improve the situation, either or both of:
- DamageImmunity - Great, but seen only as an 'effect' rather than a status.
- Durability (combat skill) - +rpinfo Durability does your class have a point here?
Durability (combat skill) gives (20% * class durability points) + equipment + power of durability.
If your class has less than (including none) durability points, DamageImmunity status is generally the best to have (as a first priority).
Power Selection
This is a rather complex topic talking with SCIENCE is strongly encouraged.
science #on science Please help with...
Repeats: Generaly don't expect them to work the way you hope unless you're built around it. Combat class points (Damage + Flurry) * 0.20 times the basic repeat nerf 0.50. Without those class points the repeats are probably only in the range of 10% of the initial damage listed in +rpinfo, rather than the 40% with Damage[2] + Flurry[2] in a class.
FIXME: Updates 2020-05-23 : [Updates] Just a Tinkering Critter says, "After due consideration, due to recent increases in the prevalence of DOT builds as well as statistical analysis, DOTs have been given a boop downwards. Tactician now increases dot magnitudes by 5% instead of 10% (which was a buff done way back when for reasons unknown as DOTs were operating just fine even then). Testing is required, of course."
It might be helpful to have a list of powers you're considering.
ps accepts filters.
* Filters of the same TYPE (left part) are combined (logical AND) * It knows about < and > but does NOT know <= or >= * Different filter TYPEs are NOT combined (logical OR) * Generally don't bother combining them online; do a search with a single TYPE qualifier, then combine the results by hand.
ps #liststatus ps effect="DamageImmunity" (However the mid-slot powers)
Some powers are slotted
[1] - These are powerful AoE attacks. Poison Breath is frequently favored, but it's a short list.
Mid Slot Powers - Talk to SCIENCE, but general advice. Juggernaut is what most go with, Active Defense Matrix fills in some gaps for some builds that Juggernaut doesn't cover as well. Tooth and Nail is more for pure DPS tanks (non-solo builds).
FIXME other slots?
Combat - What is LFG
Are you Looking For (a) Group to battle a PRIME or Boss with, or just a Frenzy for better loot?
lfg #on and then idle for a bit to learn how others are asking for things. Try to be clear about what you have and what you need... and make sure you're also ready for battle generally.

During Battle
This is a reminder of some of the battle commands.
hp - Quick recap of HP and energy for allies (maybe enemies) stuck - Use ONLY if things are actually frozen for long min AND hp shows it's not any player's turn AND if you've also tried the pass command to progress 1/4th turn. use ABILITYHERE on # (enemy) use ABILITYHERE (on FullPlayerName) pass mut effects statuses sheet flee DIRECTION (No battle rewards, BUT you can; might have to pass between attempts ) submit MOBNUMBER - renew respawn
