Lost and scattered in the city are several infected creatures which the player can take on as pets. A player is allowed to collect as many of these as they can find, but only one can be active at a time. If a pet is used, it has a random chance of attacking enemies while in combat. Pets have starting stats that improve as they level up, which they do by participating in combat. They earn their own experience, but cannot become a higher level than the player. They also gain improved Dexterity and damage as they level up. A player gains a little less XP while using a pet.

This Exotic Bird is nice and happy now! You aren't sure just what kind of exotic bird your new friend is, but it has brilliantly coloured feathers, and lovely plumage on the back of its head. The bird is only slightly larger then a parrot, but it seems to have taken a liking to you, and will occasionally stop and rest on your shoulder, though the rest of the time it is flying nearby.

Her face, shoulders, arms and upper chest appear to be mostly human, though her lower body and hands are covered in insectile plating, looking like a tight-fitting yellow and black dress.
