Prios: /* +mutation */ Correction. Mut on others does work under Xeno 20, though it only shows % dominant infection like in glance/ws.

This page does not cover all the commands currently in the game, but these will make up most of a player's commands.

Finding Helpful Information
help basic commands
While there are help files on a variety of subjects (type
help
for a list),
help basic commands
is an excellent quick reference for the most common in-game commands, including many of the commands listed here.

+rpinfo <topic>
Gets you more information on the topic, including some items, most powers, roles, professions, dedications, crafting recipes, etc. A great source of help at the early stages.
Entering
info <topic>
works as well.

list
The list command gives you a list of things you can get more lists about. As an example,
List Supernatural
lists all the dedications in the game.
If you use
List Item
where there isn't a normal shop (anywhere that says You can browse, sell, and buy things here.) then you can see a list of basic items available for sale.

Getting Around
north/south/east/west/up/down
Basic movement commands. Dependent on the exits to your current room, and can usually be abbreviated to their first letter.

depart
Takes you to the overworld map for fast and safe traveling. Players without the Flight perk can only do so from designated points, while those with Flight can depart from any location.

home
Takes you to your bond point. By default this is your faction's medical facility (Zephyr Triage for Zephyr, New Dawn Medical Hut for Prometheans, RSX Triage for RSX), but you can set a new bond point by visiting a valid bond point and typing
bond
.

mjoin and msummon
These commands take you directly to another player, or bring them to you. Type
mjoin <target>
to move to them, or
msummon <target>
to invite them to move to you.

pjoin and pinvite
These commands are like mjoin and msummon, except they additionally cause you to join another player's party, or add another player to your own party. Party members automatically follow the movements of the party leader and join them in combat.
Use the command
help partying
in-game for more information.

tport
Provides "fast travel" to certain locations. Enter
tport #public
to see a list of possible destinations, and
tport Destination
to instantly travel to a location. For example, use
tport zephyrlobby
to go to the Zephyr main lobby,
tport prommie
to reach the Crossroads of New Dawn, and
tport rsxlobby
for the RSX main lobby.
This command will not work if you are in an unsafe location, i.e. a place where ferals can be encountered.

cart
Shows an ASCII map of nearby rooms.
For a much smaller map showing only immediately adjacent rooms, use
map
.

trace
This command will display a route to the location of one person. It works by typing
trace playername
.
Use
rtrace roomname
and
atrace areaname
to display routes to the locations of rooms and areas, respectively.
(alternate forms: findplayer, findroom)

Communicating
public <message>
Chats in the general public channel, viewable by all players with the channel turned on (most players will). Using the format
public :
you can type in emotes that just say your name, rather than your current head's chatter type. Mostly considered out-of-character and used to pass information, to ask questions, or to just chat. To turn this channel on or off, type
public #on
or
public #off
.
Can be shortened to pub <Message> or /1 <Message>.
Flexible Survival has many other channels. Use
pub #list
to see a list of them all. Of special importance is the
update
channel, which only staff can post to; try using
update #last
to see the latest changes to the game.

say <message>
Using a prefix generated by your current head type, talks in the current room with a message visible to all players. Generally considered IC, or "In Character" for roleplaying. For example:
You type
say Hello all, this is just a test!
.
What you see:
You chirr, "Hello all, this is just a test!"
.
What everyone else in the room sees:
Playername chirrs, "Hello all, this is just a test!"

You can substitute
"
(a double quote) or
'
(a single quote) for say.

emote <message>
Similar to say, but instead the message displayed to all players starts with just your name, useful for roleplay that involves description instead of speech. Only displays for the room you are currently in. For example:
You type
emote is simply conducting tests for the wiki, don't mind them.

What you see:
Playername is simply conducting tests for the wiki, don't mind them.

What everyone else sees:
Playername is simply conducting tests for the wiki, don't mind them.

You can substitute
pose
,
:
(a colon), or
;
(a semicolon) for emote.

spoof <message>
Similar to emote, this does the same thing but does not start your emote with a name. Useful if you want to start your roleplay post with something other than your name. Be advised, this will put brackets around your post if you start with another player's name.
You type
spoof Wiki-tests are being done by Playername!

What you see:
Wiki-tests are being done by Playername!

What everyone else sees:
Wiki-tests are being done by Playername!

You type
spoof Nuku is simply conducting tests for the wiki, don't mind them.

What you see:
( Nuku is simply conducting tests for the wiki, don't mind them. )

What everyone else sees:
( Nuku is simply conducting tests for the wiki, don't mind them. )

pot
Shows the recent history of in-character actions (anything produced by
say
,
emote
, or
spoof
) for the current room. Useful for keeping track of a roleplaying session.

OOC <message>
Can be used in two formats, much like
public
. Typing
ooc
results in an appearance for your local room that looks like a say, but without your head suffix adding its portion to your chat. Using the format "
ooc :
" results in an output that acts much like an emote from above.
Use
ooc #last
to see a recent history of ooc messages posted to the current room.

page <Message>
To page or private message another player, you can type
page player=message
to send the message to a new recipient, or type
page message
to send it to the same recipient as previous messages.
Use
page #last
to view recent pages, in case you miss any.
(Alternate form: p)

+bbhelp
This command will allow you to learn the commands needed to view the in-game community bulletin board.

mail
This command will take you to your inbox. In order to read your mail, type the command followed by the number of the letter you wish to read.
This command can also be used to send mail to other players; type
mail <playername>=<subject>
to start your message.

Color Codes
There are 256 color codes available for use in public messages and descriptions. If you wish to color what you type, use two carets (^) with the color code in the center. The code for each color in the image is in the lower-left corner of each one. If you wish to revert your text back to normal, use
^normal^

Example:
^9^ text ^normal^ text

Appears: text text

Some colors also have "word" names.

Example:
^red^ text ^normal^ text

Appears: text text

+prove <a player stat>
Proves if the player has a statistic with that name. The result will be shown to the room with an message like "Playername proves that they possess a stat named StatName with a value of StatValue".
Can be altered by
/silent
so it will not show the result to the room; for example,
+prove/silent Strength
.

+request
For filing support tickets with staff. For bug and typo reports, suggestions, dispute resolution, requests for judge status, problems with gear or character, and so on.

Inspection
look
Lets you look at things - the room you're in, other players, objects, enemy monsters, even yourself. Typing
look
by itself looks at the room, while typing
look me
looks at yourself. If you want to look at a monster during combat, typing
look 1
(or whatever number they are) tends to work better than typing their name.
(Alternate form: l)

smell
Similar to
look
, but instead of using your eyes, you use your nose. This command tells you a bit about the fertility and species of the target.
smell here
effectively counts as smelling everybody and the room itself. And, of course, sticking your nose in someone's crotch will be visible to them.

ws
Type in a room to get some information about your fellow players without being too intrusive. Information includes name, status (IC, idle, OOC, etc), current sex and species status.

sheet
Views your current character sheet, containing a lot of useful information including your HP status, special skills, mutant powers, combat skills and knowledge skills.
Can be used to view partial information about another player by typing
sheet playername
.
By default, does not show how much salvage you have. Use the
salvage
command to show your salvage. Use
sheet #showSalvage
if you want salvage information appended to your main sheet.
For a more concise display of information about only your experience and patrol points, try
xp
. For information about your funds, try
money
or
mh
.
(Alternate forms: +sheet, stats, score, sc)

+hazards
Shows a hazard monitor display about the current area, with known monsters and approximate threat level. Try to stay in areas which match your level.
Follow this command with a direction (for example,
+hazards east
) to get a hazards reading for an adjacent location.
If you're too high-level for an area, but still want to fight the enemies there, use the
mentor
command to lower your effective level.
(Alternate form: +haz)

+mutation
Shows the species mutations you currently have, and the powers they grant.
Can be used on other players and on NPCs (
+mutation Nuku
to see Nuku's mutations, for example), though you need a high Xeno proficiency to see much information.
(Alternate form: mut)

+groin
Shows information about the size of your body and your various 'bits.' You can also discreetly view another player's part sizes if they're in the same room, using
+groin Nuku
to view Nuku's sizes for example.
Note that a height value of "17" does not mean that you are seventeen feet tall (you're more like 10'4" to 12'7" tall), and that cock length, breast size, et cetera are relative to the size of the form they're on, so an "arm-length" penis on a giant is the length of a giant's arm, not a human's arm.
(Alternate form: size)

formlist
Shows all mutations (forms) that you have mastered. To master a form, you must be infected by a mutant strain while fully shifted into that strain.
You can make use of these forms if you become a Recursionist, Nanite Adept, or Coyote dedicant.

pregtime
Shows how much time you have remaining in your current pregnancy, and/or information about your male and/or female fertility.

wi
Type in a room to get some roleplaying information about your fellow players. This will show a list of 'flags' for each player, displaying what they are interested in. The same command is also used to set your own flags. Type
wi #help
for more details.

who
This command will display a list of everyone currently online, their factions, their locations, their status as a player judge, and if they're on the web interface or not. WARNING: Spammy!
For a smaller, personalized list, try
watchfor
or
wf
. Type
watchfor player
to add a player to your list of "watched" players, and then you'll see their info listed when you enter
watchfor
by itself. You'll also be warned when they log on or off. Good for keeping track of friends, or enemies.
You can also use the
whereare
(or
wa
) command for a concise listing of locations where people are gathered.
Manipulation
editplayer
Command that has a lot of functions for editing appearance and for many other options. Can be used to edit your short and long character descriptions, enable or disable auto-leveling, enable post-combat reports, configure automatic options, and more. The description editor comes with its own built-in help.

talk and check
These two have the same effect. They're used to interact with NPCs or objects in the same room as you, with the format
talk <target>
or
check <target>
.
Simply typing some or all of the object's name by itself works as well. For example, you can type
Mike
instead of
talk Mike the Chopper Pilot
to interact with Mike.

use <ability>
Lets you use a power, equipped object, or inventory item. Powers work best by using the format of
use <Power Name> on <Target>
. Targets that are hostile are best selected by using just the number next to their name in the combat display.
When in combat, you can specify a "default" target for powers by using the
target
command.

search
Use in dangerous areas to search for enemies. Allows you to trigger combats without needing to move around.
Won't work if your last battle was too recent. Also, won't work if you're too high-level for the area--use
mentor
to lower your effective level first.

social
For access to the "social actions" (jobs) system, used in locations such as Eureka, Clairmont, Hare Town, and Cat Town. When in one of these areas, enter
social
by itself for information about the social actions system, and if you're in a room where a job is available to you (which largely depends on your non-combat proficiencies), use
social list
to see the list of jobs. Use
social jobname
to perform a job.
Performing social actions jobs will reward you with freecred, experience, and sometimes other things, but costs patrol points. Patrol points regenerate over time.
(Alternate form: sa)

mine
Can be used to mine for salvage in certain dangerous areas. Type
mine
by itself for more information. You can mine by spending either freecred or patrol points; patrol points regenerate over time.

fuck
Does the deed, mechanically. Best preceded by some role-playing, or at least a polite request for permission, when targeted at another player. Can result in pregnancies and in embarrassingly public messages about wet drippy bits.
Type
help fuck
for all the squishy details.

Inventory and Equipment
+gear
By itself,
+gear
lists all the items you are carrying in your inventory. Typing
+gear #
, with the number of an item in place of the #, displays more information on that item. Typing
+gear #help
shows a help screen about further commands.
(Alternate forms: inventory, i)

equip
Typed by itself, it lists everything you have equipped, and in which slots. Typing
equip #
, with the number of an item in place of the #, tries to equip that item from your inventory. If it's equippable, and you have enough spare loadout, it'll be equipped.
In addition, you can use the
load
command to view details on items you have equipped. For instance,
load 1
will give you a detailed description of what you have equipped in slot 1.
(Alternate forms: +acc, eq)

remove
Removes a piece of equipment. You'll need to tell the game which piece of equipment, by typing
equip
, finding the slot number of the gear, and typing
remove #
.

drop
Destroys an item in your inventory; shortcut for
+gear/trash
. Use
+gear
or
i
first to learn the number of the item, then
drop #
. You'll be asked to confirm.
Use
droprange #-#
to drop a whole range of items.
Use
+gear/recover
to recover recently-destroyed items for a small fee.

give
Give an item (or freecred, or tokens, or salvage, or mako) to another player. Use
+gear
to determine the number of the item you want to give, then use
give # to player
to hand over that item. Use
help give
for more information on what you can give and how to give it.
You can give things to players who aren't in the same room with you. Simply enter
give thing to player
as usual. The game will ask if you want to try a wider search for that player, and warn you that this may be "dangerous" (not really dangerous, but you could end up sending something to the wrong person if you entered the name incorrectly and answer the prompts too hastily). Answer
yes
and the game will find the person, and ask you to confirm that the name is correct: if it's the right person, answer
yes
once again. Finally, if you're trying to send an inventory item, you'll be warned that there will be a 100 freecred fee for shipping; agree to pay the fee, and the item will be sent. (If you don't want to pay the fee, try using
mjoin
or
trace
to visit the player in person instead.)

+gear/sort
Sorts your inventory alphabetically.
(Alternate form: i sort)

Prios: Did some Wikifying.

Communicating
public <message>
Chats in the general public channel, viewable by all players with the channel turned on (most players will). Using the format
public :
you can type in emotes that just say your name, rather than your current head's chatter type. Mostly considered out-of-character and used to pass information, to ask questions, or to just chat. To turn this channel on or off, type
public #on
or
public #off

You can substitute
pose
,
:
(a colon), or
;

This command can also be used to send mail to other players; type
mail <playername>=<subject>
to start your message.

Can be used on other players and on NPCs (
+mutation Nuku
to see Nuku's mutations, for example) if your Xeno proficiency is at least 20.

Communicating
public <message>
Chats in the general public channel, viewable by all players with the channel turned on (most players will). Using the format
public :
you can type in emotes that just say your name, rather than your current head's chatter type. Mostly considered out-of-character and used to pass information, to ask questions, or to just chat. To turn this channel on or off, type
public #on
or
public #off

You can substitute
pose
,
:
(a colon), or
;

This command can also be used to send mail to other players; type
mail <playername>=<subject>
to start your message.

Can be used on other players and on NPCs (
+mutation Nuku
to see Nuku's mutations, for example) if your "xeno" skill is at least 20.

Prios: Finished writing "fuck" info because I pressed Save page too early a moment ago, like an idiot.

This page does not cover all the commands currently in the game, but these are the commands that will make up most of a player's commands.

Finding Helpful Information
+rpinfo <topic>
Gets you more information on the topic, including some items, most powers, roles, professions, etc. A great source of help at the early stages.
Entering
info <topic>
works as well.

list
The list command gives you a list of things you can get more lists about. As an example, List Supernatural lists all the dedications in the game. Also, if you use List Item where there isn't a normal shop (anywhere that says You can browse, sell, and buy things here.) then you can see a list of basic items available for sale.

Communicating
public <message>
Chats in the general public channel, viewable by all players with the channel turned on (most players at this point). Using the format
pub :
you can type in emotes that just say your name, rather than your current head's chatter type. Mostly considered out-of-character and used to pass information or ask questions. To turn this channel on or off, type
public on/off
as if you were sending a message.
Can be shortened to pub <Message> or /1 <Message>.
Flexible Survival has many other channels. Use
pub #list
to see a list of them all.

say <message>

You can substitute
pose
,
:
(a colon), or
;

( Nuku is simply conducting tests for the wiki, don't mind them. )

pot
Shows the recent history of IC actions (anything produced by
say
,
emote
, or
spoof
) for the current room.

This command can also be used to send mail to other players; type
mail <playername>=<subject>
to start your message.

Color Codes
For use in public messages and descriptions, there are 256 color codes available to use.

Information includes name, status (IC, idle, OOC, etc), current sex and species status.

stats
Views your current character sheet, containing a lot of useful information including your HP status, special skills, mutant powers, combat skills and knowledge skills.
Can be used to view partial information about another player by typing
stats playername
.
(Alternate forms: +sheet, sheet, score, sc)

Can be used on other players and on NPCs (
+mutation Nuku
to see Nuku's mutations, for example) if your "xeno" skill is at least 20.

Manipulation
editplayer
Command that has a lot of functions for editing appearance, your short and long descriptions can be edited via this command. It comes with its own built in help for most of them as well, give it a try if you didn't do much during character creation to jazz up your character's appearance to others.

talk and check
These two have the same effect. They're used to interact with NPCs or objects in the same room as you, with the format
talk <target>
or
check <target>
.
Simply typing some or all of the object's name by itself works as well. For example, you can type
Mike
instead of
talk Mike the Chopper Pilot
to interact with Mike.

use <ability>
Lets you use a power, equipped object, or inventory item. Powers work best by using the format of
use <Power Name> on <Target>
. Targets that are hostile are best selected by using just the number next to their name in the combat display.
When in combat, you can specify a "default" target for powers by using the
target
command.

fuck
Does the deed, mechanically. Best preceded by some role-playing, or at least a request for permission, when targeted at another player.
Type
help fuck
for all the squishy details.

Inventory and Equipment
+gear
By itself,
+gear
lists all the items you are carrying in your inventory. Typing
+gear #
, with the number of an item in place of the #, displays more information on that item. Typing
+gear #help
shows a help screen about further commands.
(Alternate forms: inventory, i)

equip
Typed by itself, it lists off everything you have equipped, and in which slots. Typing
equip #
, with the number of an item in place of the #, tries to equip that item from your inventory. If it's equippable, and you have enough spare loadout, then it'll be equipped.

Use
+gear/recover
to recover recently-destroyed items for small fee.

+gear/sort
Sorts your inventory alphabetically.
(Alternate forms: i sort)

Prios: Added +gear/sort, +groin, pregtime, pot, +request, tport, cart, and drop. Added more info to things. Moved stuff. Split stuff up into categories. Categories were pretty necessary at this point but I'm sure others can categorize better.

Communicating
public <message>
Chats in the general public channel, viewable by all players with the channel turned on (most players at this point). Using the format
pub :
you can type in emotes that just say your name, rather than your current head's chatter type. Mostly considered out-of-character and used to pass information or ask questions. To turn this channel on or off, type
public on/off
as if you were sending a message.
Can be shortened to pub <Message> or /1 <Message>.
Flexible Survival has many other channels. Use
pub #list
to see a list of them all.

say <message>

You can substitute
pose
,
:
(a colon), or
;

( Nuku is simply conducting tests for the wiki, don't mind them. )

pot
Shows the recent history of IC actions (anything produced by
say
,
emote
, or
spoof
) for the current room.

This command can also be used to send mail to other players; type
mail <playername>=<subject>
to start your message.

Color Codes
For use in public messages and descriptions, there are 256 color codes available to use.

Information includes name, status (IC, idle, OOC, etc), current sex and species status.

stats
Views your current character sheet, containing a lot of useful information including your HP status, special skills, mutant powers, combat skills and knowledge skills.
Can be used to view partial information about another player by typing
stats playername
.
(Alternate forms: +sheet, sheet, score, sc)

Can be used on other players and on NPCs (
+mutation Nuku
to see Nuku's mutations, for example) if your "xeno" skill is at least 20.

Use
+gear/recover
to recover recently-destroyed items for small fee.

+gear/sort
Sorts your inventory alphabetically.
(Alternate forms: i sort)
RSX

Prios: Readability and prettying up the text a bit; added some bits about Zephyr relations, a small "Attitudes towards Mutants" section, a "Goals" section. Plz revise savagely.

Basic Information
RSX, in partnership with Zephyr, was one of the two corporations involved in the creation of the Promethean Nanites. They are headquartered in Woodfield, Washington State, and are no longer partnered with Zephyr. Prior to the advent of the nanites, RSX was primarily known for military weapons and technology contracts.

Background
RSX Solutions was founded in the early 1900s as a government-funded scientific lab. Their lab coats were stiffly starched from the start, and this has never quite changed since then. With the emerging importance of the microprocessor, the lab gradually began focusing its studies on it, developing cutting-edge electronics in the highly competitive market and reaching for as much government funding as it could get. When offered the chance to develop Prometheus, RSX Solutions was eager: the possibilities, and the funding, were nearly limitless. But there was a catch—they had to partner with Zephyr Incorporated, a 100% civilian-run bio firm that wouldn't know confidentiality procedures or proper testing protocols if their life depended on it. RSX Solutions nonetheless agreed to the partnership, remaining ever professional. The results are what we have now: the nanites, once created, were unleashed destructively.

Some say RSX is to blame. It was their circuitry that controlled the nanites in the first place, after all. Where else could it have gone wrong? RSX Solutions denies this, and points to other factors such as Zephyr's inadequate quality control. In present-day matters, RSX also claims gross negligence on Zephyr Inc.'s part for failing to ensure proper inoculation of Zephyr employees against mutation-inducing nanites. As one RSX employee noted: "We've had an anti-nanite inoculation procedure since half-way into the project. I cannot fathom why the 'Management' of Zephyr Incorporated would choose to not make it easily available, and indeed a requirement, to those who work for them." As a general rule, however, Zephyr and RSX are not openly hostile towards one another, and occasionally engage in joint field operations.

RSX Solutions employees are all given free and easy access to anti-infection inoculation (consider resistance or immunity merits RP-essential choices for this faction). Employees who degrade themselves or who often change mutations are frowned upon, and can look forward to a sturdy glass ceiling in the corporation if they don't get their bodies and minds back under control.

Attitude Towards Mutants
Quoted from the "Societal Shifts" global research project results:

"We welcome the reduced violence that many of these 'mutant tribes' display. If they require assistance, or wish to offer it in the reconstruction efforts of America, they are a welcome addition. Let us be clear however, organized does not always mean peaceful. Our agents will be on high alert for the increasingly violent strains and dealing with them properly."

Goals
Ultimately, RSX Solutions seeks to restore the American government to something resembling its old self, and to reestablish the infrastructure, peace, and stability of a now-ruined nation.

Quoted from "Ask Flexible Survival Questions":

"RSX is all about rebuilding America.

Some activities:

*Delivering supplies to communities.
*Fighting off wild mutant attacks.
*Escorting important skilled people through the wastes.
*Meeting new communities and recruiting community organizers.
*Hunting especially dangerous mutants.
*Gathering intel and research on various nanite phenomena."

Prios:

This page does not cover all the commands currently in the game, but these are the commands that will make up most of a player's commands.

north/south/east/west/up/down
Basic movement commands.

Use the command
help partying
in-game for more information.

look
Lets you look at things - the room you're in, other players, objects, even enemy monsters. Typing
look
by itself merely looks at the room, while typing
look me
looks at yourself. If you want to look at a monster during combat, typing
look 1
(or whatever number they are) tends to work better than typing their name.
(Alternate form: l)

talk and check
These two have the same effect. They're used to interact with NPCs or objects in the same room as you, with the format
talk <target>
or
check <target>
.
Simply typing some or all of the object's name by itself works as well. For example, you can type
Mike
instead of
talk Mike the Chopper Pilot
to interact with Mike.

use <ability>
Lets you use a power or equipped object. Powers work best by using the format of
use <Power Name> on <Target>
. Targets that are hostile are best selected by using just the number next to their name in the combat display.

+rpinfo <topic>
Gets you more information on the topic, including some items, most powers, roles, professions, etc. A great source of help at the early stages.
Entering
info <topic>
works as well.

public <message>
(can be shortened to pub <Message> or /1 <Message>)
Chats in the general public channel, viewable by all players with the channel turned on (most players at this point). Using the format
pub :
you can type in emotes that just say your name, rather than your current head's chatter type. Mostly considered out-of-character and used to pass information or ask questions. To turn this channel on or off, type
public on/off
as if you were sending a message.

say <message>

You can substitute
pose
,
:
(a colon), or
;

( Nuku is simply conducting tests for the wiki, don't mind them. )

OOC <message>
Can be used in two formats, much like
public
. Typing
ooc
results in an appearance for your local room that looks like a say, but without your head suffix adding its portion to your chat. Using the format "
ooc :
" results in an output that acts much like an emote from above.

Color Codes
For use in public messages and descriptions, there are 256 color codes available to use. If you wish to color what you type, use two carets (^) with the color code in the center. The code for each color in the image is in the lower-left corner of each one. If you wish to revert your text back to normal, use ^normal^

Example: ^9^ text ^normal^ text
Appears: text text

list
The list command gives you a list of things you can get more lists about. As an example, List Supernatural lists all the dedications in the game. Also, if you use List Item where there isn't a normal shop (anywhere that says You can browse, sell, and buy things here. then you can see a list of basic items available for sale.

page <Message>
To page or private message another player, you can type
page player=message
to send the message to a new recipient, or type
page message
to send it to the same recipient as previous messages.
(Alternate form: p)

editplayer
Command that has a lot of functions for editing appearance, your short and long descriptions can be edited via this command. It comes with its own built in help for most of them as well, give it a try if you didn't do much during character creation to jazz up your character's appearance to others.

+gear
By itself,
+gear
lists all the items you are carrying in your inventory. Typing
+gear #
, with the number of an item in place of the #, displays more information on that item. Typing
+gear #help
shows a help screen about further commands.

In addition, you can use the
load
command to view details on items you have equipped. For instance,
load 1
will give you a detailed description of what you have equipped in slot 1.
(Alternate forms: +acc, eq)

remove
Removes a piece of equipment. You'll need to tell the game which piece of equipment, by typing
equip
, finding the slot number of the gear, and typing
remove #
.

ws
Type in a room to get some information about your fellow players without being too intrusive. Information includes name, status (IC, idle, OOC, etc), current sex and species status.

wi
Type in a room to get some roleplaying information about your fellow players. This will show a list of 'flags' for each player, displaying what they are interested in. The same command is also used to set your own flags. Type
wi #help
for more details.

smell
Similar to
look
, but instead of using your eyes, you use your nose. This command tells you a bit about the fertility and species of the target.
smell here
effectively counts as smelling everybody and the room itself. And, of course, sticking your nose in someone's crotch will be visible to them.

stats
Views your current character sheet, containing a lot of useful information including your HP status, special skills, mutant powers, combat skills and knowledge skills.
Can be used to view partial information about another player by typing
stats playername
.
(Alternate forms: +sheet, sheet, score, sc)

+hazards
Shows a hazard monitor display about the current area. Known monsters and approximate threat level. Try to stay in areas which match your level.
Follow this command with a direction (for example,
+hazards east
) to get a hazards reading for an adjacent location.
(Alternate form: +haz)

+mutation
Shows the species mutations you currently have, and the powers they grant.
(Alternate form: mut)

formlist
Shows all mutations (forms) that you have mastered.

+prove <a player stat>
Proves if the player has a statistic with that name. The result will be shown to the room with an message like "Playername proves that they possess a stat named StatName with a value of StatValue". Can be altered by
/silent
so it will not show the result to the room; for example,
+prove/silent Strength
.

+bbhelp
This command will allow you to learn the commands needed to view the in-game community bulletin board.

mail
This command will take you to your inbox. In order to read your mail, type the command followed by the number of the letter you wish to read.
This command can also be used to send mail to other players; type
mail <playername>=<subject>
to start your message.

who
This command will display a list of everyone currently online, their factions, their locations, their status as a player judge, and if they're on the web interface or not. WARNING: Spammy!

trace
This command will display a route to the location of one person. It works by typing
trace playername
.
Use
rtrace roomname
and
atrace areaname
to display routes to the locations of rooms and areas, respectively.
String Parsing

Prios: /* Pronouns */ Changed the not-actual-examples to actual examples, because why not, really?
String Parsing (SP) refers to some of the underlying guts of the MUCK. You can use it to liven up your creature submissions, rooms, and even your own description. While it's a bit limited in power compared to other languages, it's easy to read and learn.
If you're new to programming, it's recommended you use notepad to work in. This lets you save your files locally in case of a disconnect, and avoids weird formatting issues that sometimes pop up in Word. If you're going to be using SP heavily, look for a text editor Notepad++ and language file (Windows) Fraise (Mac), or VI, eMacs, etc (Linux).

STAFF NOTE: This page is maintained largely by the Flexible Survival community. Any information herein may not be relevant to the current standard of String Parsing or reflect its full feature set. Please view the in-game helpfiles on String Parsing for an additional point of reference.

Basic Syntax
Formatting
Everything in SP is contained in brackets []. Though SP is supposedly case insensitive, it's recommended you use only lowercase.

There should be no spaces after the leading bracket or before the trailing bracket.
:[like this]
:[ not like this ]

Line breaks are bad. Avoid them within brackets, and within [if...][end if] sections.

This is bad.
:Hi [player]![if [player] is male]
:I'm a
:boy![end if]

This is good.
:Hi! [player]!
:[if [player] is male]I'm a boy![end if]
Variables
SP can retrieve, test, and display certain pieces of information about characters.

Targets
A Target refers to a specific character. Targets must be enclosed in their own set of brackets. A [target] by itself will return the target's name.

:Hi [player]!
returns
:Hi Nuku!

Valid Targets:
:[player] - Name of character the description is on.
:[looker] - Name of the character viewing the description.
:[loser] - The loser of a fight. (For victory/defeat messages.)
:[victor] - The winner of a fight (For victory/defeat messages.)

Pronouns
These will display the correct gender of the pronoun according to the target.

Use:
:[pronoun of [target]]
::Example: You see an employee badge hanging from [%p of [player]] coat.

Available Pronouns
:%p/%P for possessive pronouns (his/her/its
, His/Her/Hir/Its
)
::Example: Who's book is it? It's [%p of [player]] book.
:%a/%A for absolute possessive pronouns (his/hers/hirs/its, His/Hers/Hirs/Its)
::Example: Who's book is it? It's [%a of [player]].
:%s/%S for subjective pronouns (he/she/shi/it, He/She/Shi/It)
::Example: [%S of [player]] got the book.
:%o/%O for objective pronouns (him/her/hir/it, Him/Her/Hir/It)
::Example: The book fell on [%o of [player]].
:%r/%R for reflexive pronouns (himself/herself/hirself/itself, Himself/Herself/hirself/Itself)
::Example: Chris did it all by [%r of [player]].
:%n/%N for the player's name. STAFF NOTE: Please use [player] instead.
::The shopkeeper's name is [%n of [player]].

Stats
You can use SP to retrieve information about a target using [stat stat of [target]]
:HP - Returns current raw HP.

Local Stats
You can create your own custom stats specific to your character, and test for them like any other in your description. lset foo:bar, and then use [local stat foo of [player]] in your parsed description.

Custom stats of a form can be viewed by typing lstats (form here). Mastered forms with local stats can be viewed by typing formlist lstat.

:Example: lset eyecolor:blue will make '...with piercing [local stat eyecolor of [player]] eyes.' read as '...with piercing blue eyes.'
You can also organize your values with lset something/foo:bar.
ALWAYS use "Form Name/stat" when submitting monsters with custom stats, like [local stat Female Husky/eyecolor of [player]]. This will help keep the user config files clean and prevent accidental overwriting of a player's other custom stats.
Example of local stats:
:lset piercings/number:three
:lset piercings/type:silver
:lset piercings/side:left

"They have [local stat piercings/number of [player]] [local stat piercings/type of [player]] rings in their [local stat piercings/side of [player]] ear." will now read as "They have three silver rings in their left ear."

Body Parts
You can retrieve the numerical value of body parts with [stat part of [target]]
:Breasts -- number of breasts
:Breast Size -- returned as a numerical value (1, 2, 3) not cup size.
:Cocks -- number of cocks
:Cock Length
:Ball Size
:Cunts -- number of cunts
:Cunt Length -- depth of cunt

(Not sure how Modest Appearance perk affects this.)

Mutations
Using [stat mutation/part of [target]] will retrieve the mutation present in that location.
:mutation/skin -- returns skin mutation
:mutation/head -- returns head mutation
:mutation/arms -- returns arms mutation
:mutation/torso -- returns torso mutation
:mutation/cock -- returns groin mutation
:mutation/legs -- returns legs mutation

Other Values
These values do not need to be proceeded by 'stat'. use "value of [target]".
:hp -- shows the percentage of total HP. A target at 50% health will return '50'. (To get raw HP, use '[stat HP of [target]') Will return 0 or 100 after mentoring up/down until the next reg 'tick'.
::When writing forms, use [if [hp of [loser]] > x] in Defeat messages and [if [hp of [victor]] > x] in Victory messages. This allows you to change text according to remaining HP, and, if x = 0, allows you you to create a message that triggers only when submitting.
:pregnant -- returns pregnancy value as 0 or 1 (pregnant).
:[skin] -- returns the primary user's skin, primary user can be tricky at times, safest to use in descs and transformations. (better to use mutation/skin)
:freecred -- returns target's freecred balance
:level -- returns target's true level
:mentor -- returns target's mentored level
:[legs] -- informs the game that legs are being accounted for in this description (such as in a tauric ass infection), and omits the normal legs from the automatic description.
:[breastdesc] -- informs the game that you are describing the breasts in this description, and subsequently omits the "He/she has X Y-sized breasts" part of the automatic description.

Flags
You can check for certain features in a target using flags.
[if (flag) present in [target]]You have something that's (flag).[end if]
For a list of available flags to check for, see the flag list.

Functions
SP provides a few simple functions for data processing.

Tests
:If-Then tests are formatted as [if X]string 1[else]string 2[end if].
::You do not need to include [else], but you must finish with [end if].
::To test multiple items in one check use [if a and b and c].
::You can nest if-thens, but remember your [end if]s.
:Comparisons
::[if X is Y] or [if X is not Y]
::[if stat (stat name) of [target] = (string)]
::[if stat (stat name) of [target] == (number)]
::[if stat (stat name) of [target] > (number)]
::[if stat (stat name) of [target] < (number)] -- Do stat comparisons!
:[if (power name) owned by [target]] -- Test for a power.
:Test gender
::[if [target] is male] -- Does [target] have a cock?
::[if [target] is female] -- Does [target] have a pussy?
::[if [target] is not male] and [if [target] is not female] -- Testing for absence of cock/pussy.
::[if [target] is neuter] -- Is [target] neuter?
::[if [target] is herm] -- Is [target] a herm?
:Test fertility
::[if [target] is fertile] -- Non-females cannot be fertile and will always fail this test.

Randoms
[one of]X[or]Y[or]Z[at random]
*Generates one of the specified values at random.
[random X to Y]
*Generates a number between X and Y.

Nesting
You may nest [if ][end if] and [one of][or][at random] sections.

:[if [player] is male]I'm a boy[if [player] is female] and a girl[end if]![end if]

Colors
You can add color to your text. (Also works with @emit command.)
:Surround the color name in carets (for example, ^red^), then return to normal with ^normal^. Note that colors are escaped on a per-line basis. You should never end a line in ^normal^ after the last character.
:Valid colors: Red, blue, green, cyan, yellow, brown, black, white, gray, possibly others. Use 'colors' command to see full list.
:You can also use ^bold^, ^italics^, and ^underline^. ^blink^ appears as normal italics in most clients and is strongly discouraged.

Advanced Code
These will not work in personal or room descriptions. Mostly for use in creature creation and other NPC scripts.

Functions
:[increase the (stat) of [target] by (number)] -- Modify stats, negative numbers are cool. Whole numbers only.
:[impregnate [target1] with [target2]] -- Causes a chance for babies. The first is the mother. Both need proper parts.
:[end] -- Used in defeat# and victory# to end the processing in that block if [end] remains after displaying that block.
::ONLY use [end] for multi-line Victory/Defeat Messages! These are not necessary unless you require a line break.

Targets
:[here] -- Used to identify the room (not its name, its DB ref).

Limits
String Parsing cannot:
* Test for combat.
* Message other players or provide other output.

Example Code
NPC Name Tracking
By Damaged:
You want to say, have a particular name hang about, on the player, so that once they have given in

:"Oh, [if stat Fox/Name of [player] does exist][player]!" [if stat Fox/Name of [player] == 1]Lilly[else if stat Fox/Name of [player] == 2]Michelle[else if stat Fox/Name of [player] == 3]Jenny[end if] says, "It's Tuesday again[else]have we not met? My name is [one of]Lilly[set the Fox/Name of [player] to 1][or]Michelle[set the Fox/Name of [player] to 2][or]Jenny[set the Fox/Name of [player] to 3][at random], and I am going to fuck you nine ways from Tuesday[end if]!"

Note that you MUST use 'formstat/MonsterName/StatName' if you set this via a monster. Use [set the formstat/MonsterName/StatName of [target] to x] as the write-function syntax and [stat formstat/MonsterName/StatName of [target]] as the read-function.

Set player color
by Damaged:

Goo Girl skin transform: A ripple of tingles rushes through your entire body as you sink towards the ground, then rise again, wobbling along the way. A glance at a hand shows that you can see right through your now [set the formstat/Goo Girl/Texture of player to [one of]jellied[or]gelatine like[or]translucent[at random]] [set the formstat/Goo Girl/Color of player to [one of]blue[or]red[or]purple[at random]]

Deprecated Code
These functions and items do not work anymore, but are listed for legacy purposes.

:[infect [target] with (infection name) at (number)] -- once had a (number)% chance of infecting the named person with the named infection. This is now done by default in Defeat scenes.
:[otherwise] -- used to be a synonym for [else], but not used in practice anymore due to performance concerns. Removal of support pending.
:[infected] -- used to be a [target] attribute, similar to [player]. Not used anymore.

Prios: Added a "Flag Groupings" section that's hopefully useful and Not Confusing.

Help File
Flags allow forms to show their true colors. Or properties, moreso. As an example, take the following:

[if tailed present in [player]]You have a tail![else]You do not have a tail![end if]
This block is dependent upon the 'tailed' flag, generally found on the ass.

There is also [if <flag> naturally present in [player]], which specifically checks your form, instead of you. For example, if you have the 'winged' perk, [if winged present in [player]] will always fire. But if you're not in a form that is winged by default, it will not be 'naturally present'.

Finally, in victories, defeats and transformations, the following are valid to add temporary, non-natural flags:
[add flag <flag> to <bodypart> of [player]]
[remove flag <flag> from <bodypart> of [player]]

Flag commands:
flag <name of person/infection> -- Lists flags of a person/infection.
list flags -- A list of the various flags.
To view a topic or index, type +help string parsing/flags/<topic or index>
