-[ Help on: Combat/status Effects/full List ]-(copied from the muck on May 9th, 2022)

Accuracy Increases accuracy by Magnitude, proportional to the power's base Accuracy after being compared against Defense. Has diminishing returns, gradually leveling off before reaching 50% along the following equation: 50*(Mag)/(Mag+100).

Aggro Increases automated NPC hate by Magnitude percentage.

AoEMod Gives a scaling chance to hit an additional target. Rate of chance is AoEmod/AoEmod+1

AreaBlock Decreases AOE damage on allies and increases it on you by mag percent. Only works when you are targeted directly with the AOE.

Attack Increases damage of all powers by magnitude. Cannot increase the damage of a power by more than 1/3rd its normal level.

Cascading Cascading is a (mag)% damage increase for repeat attacks (does not affect the initial, direct hit). It soft caps by / 2 at 10, 20, 25, and 35. It hardcaps at 40.

Confused Has magnitude chance of causing AoEs to strike a random friendly target, and increases the final deflection percent (after reduction from combat skills) on AoEs by its magnitude to a maximum final deflection of 50% (unless they rolled a 75%, in which case that is used instead).

Charge Increases the rate at which powers charge by Magnitude percent. Has diminishing returns, gradually leveling off before reaching 150% along the following equation: 150*(Mag)/(Mag+75). When negative, use 25*(Mag)/(Mag+10) instead.

Cover Take magnitude percent of damage meant for the target. Resistances still apply. Capped in effectiveness by the attacker's Concentrated skill level, at 90/80/70% of incoming damage.

HPBuffer Prevents standard damage in combat. Each point of magnitude is a kind of temporary hit point. Does not work in talk script damage. Your HPBuffer is treated like one large pool. The combat skills Damage, Accuracy and Penetration can allow you to pierce HPbuffer up to a maximum of 70%.

InHeat Causes the player to appear to be in heat, whether or not they actually are fertile.

(x)Penetration Causes all attacks to penetrate X type of damage resistance. 10 points of status is the same as one point of Penetration combat skill. Soft caps are at 40, 60 and 80. If no damage type is specified, will apply to all damage types. Penetration status will work on energy/physical/critical damage (and dots) where any other damage types (poison, skunk, etc) will need a specific penetration eg: PoisonPenetration

PhysicalDamageReturn Returns Magnitude percent of all damage taken(Does not work on damage over time, does work on repeating attacks) as physical damage.

PowerArmor Having this status means you can use the power Activated Armor, which increases health by 10%, accuracy and status resists by 5% and consumes 1 chemical and 1 energy salvage per combat round, or less, with a higher armor skill.

Recharge Increases the speed at which all powers recharge by Magnitude percent. Soft caps at 50, 100, 150, etc, doubling the amount needed to gain one effective point per soft cap and hard caps at 200 effective value.

Vampiric Causes all attacks to cause a regenerative effect of MAG % of damage dealt. works in conjunction with the combat skill and item/power property of the same name. All combined sources of Vampiric are soft capped at 25 and effective 50 mag, with a hard cap at effective 75 mag, meaning over 25 divide by 2, over 50, divide by 4, and no attack can give more than 75% of hp back from damage.

WaterAdaption Provides resistance to the penalties from Aquatic areas. If your WaterAdaption is lower than an area's AQ rating on +haz, you will suffer severe penalties.

------[Statuses not on the above list]--------

Hollow Increases the penetration of your HpBuffers by flat 20%. (is a binary buffer. Do we need a new page for those?)

(X)Salvage Increases or Decreases your odds of salvaging (X) type salvage.

Size Increases or Decreases your bodysize by the magnitude. Minimum size is 1, maximum size is uncapped.

StatusBoost Increases magnitude of active power statuses by magnitude percent. Has diminishing returns, gradually leveling off before reaching 35% along the following equation: 35*(Mag)/(Mag+10) for positive values, or approaching -25 at 25*(Mag)/(Mag+10) for negative values or debuffed. Does not work in instantcooldown or itself. Will not work on Passives or Toggles are not effected. Does effect negative aspects of a friendly power and positive aspects of a hostile power (E.g. Howl)

Taunt Causes the victim to target the caster while active. Latest taunt overrides all others.

Euoia has been wearing a white and blue magical girl outfit which is suitable for being a Rainbow Warrior. Minor adjustments are made in nano-fab clothing when she develops wings. The magical girl outfit seems to be based on some cosplay for a forgotten show.
Background
Born in New Holland, Pennsylvania, Eugene Augustus Underwood was the eldest child of two hippies that never stopped the free love of the 60s and 70s. The Underwoods lived a modest life in a small farm. Eugene Abigail Underwood (father) and Sara Flemming Underwood (mother) were actually a pair of eccentric rich folk who made more money then they could ever want to spend during the late 70s with the riches trickling down from Eugene Abigail's father, the late Edward Augustus Underwood's coal mining business.

Eugene's siblings number two girls, Elanor and Michelle, who both looked up to their brother as a dreamer for a bright future. Eugene went through public school, in spite of the rising homeschooling trend that had been slowly rising. After spending time on the wrestling team, he later went into acting, and was a major player in a few school plays. He also had a bi-monthly column in the paper, giving advice to the students of the school about various questions they might have. He graduated as valedictorian of his class, and went on to Massachusetts Institute of Technology to study robotics.

While studying robotics at MIT, he saw the rise of nanotechnology and shifted majors to go into nanotechnology research. While he wasn't a leading mind snagged into private industry for his skills, Eugene did stay on at MIT as a lab assistant and eventually graduated with a doctorate in Medical Engineering and Medical Physics with a specialization in nanotechnology.

When society decided to crumble due to the outbreak of the Prometheus virus, Eugene was in a secure, well stocked lab using remote nanites to alter rat dna to remove birth defects at a remote lab for InTech Pharmaceutical Research and Development. Eugene was working when the outbreak occurred. Sealed in his lab, his research continued with no notice of what was going on.

Eventually, clean food and water supplies were running dreadfully low. Each scav run he would do turned up with less and less edible food and higher chances of running into infected. Lastly, the HazMat suit he was using started to develop a gash in it after his last scrubbing down from a trip outside. Eugene had no where else to turn to... and then he picked up a broadcast from Zephyr.

It took Eugene a few weeks to establish a satellite network connection with Zephyr's labs in Fairview. He was granted the Login name EU-OIA short for Eugene Underwood - Office of Internal Affairs. Through this network connection, he learned the fate of everything that happened outside, and offered to turn over his test subjects and the little research he had for a guarantee that he could continue trying to further what Zephyr was doing to find a cure or a temporary fix to buy more time for the long run. He admitted his food supplies were running out, and that containment was breached. In order to save on supplies, he secured as much of the lab as he could that would be difficult for infected to breach and went to sleep. Eugene sighed and saw one last message on the screen. A thank you for the donation of his research notes and an assurance that they will send a force over to extract him.

Eugene woke up, barely remembering anything, scared of why he was hooked up to IVs, and uncertain of who he was. Memory of his name was masked by the fairy nanites he was infected with.... and the only clue he had was a login name when the extraction team blew open the lab's door, giving him a concussion. Later, he woke, memory of everything temporarily gone... and only his log-in name imprinted in his mind.

Eugene was working late at night when the outbreak occurred. Sealed in his lab, his research continued with no notice of what was going on until an android-like security guard started pounding on the sealed door. Eventually, the android guard found a way into the remote operations lab, and began infecting the lab rats before dying from massive internal problems.

Eugene used the remote operations lab to carefully dissect and analyze what happened to the guard from his sealed room. He tried to see if he could coax certain properties of the virus out of the guard without triggering a change in physiology... and had minor success. However, clean food and water supplies were running dreadfully low.
Initial documentation showed that he had a happy-go-lucky attitude for external affairs and was showing classic signs of internalizing fears of what was going on. Eventually, he (now she) is adapting quickly to life in the mutated present, showing an aptitude for wanting to help others.

Guess some things never change.
General Appearance
Euoia has been wearing gothic lolita dresses and clothes since discovering a minor thing with various infections providing clothes. After experimenting with these, she has a reliable amount of clothing to wear to keep her adequately covered. Minor adjustments are made in them when she develops wings. Usually, she wears black white and purple with heavy amounts of ribbons and lace. She is also known to have a handkerchief made of satin bed sheets on her at all times.

He admitted his food supplies were running out, and that he had one last test to run. A test on himself. As he hooked himself up to a distilled IV drip, he sighed and saw one last message on the screen. A thank you for the donation of his research notes and an assurance that they will send a force over to extract him.

Eugene woke up, barely remembering anything, scared of why he was hooked up to IVs, and uncertain of who he was. Memory of his name was removed by the nanites he was testing with... and the only clue he had was a login name when the extraction team blew open the secure lab's door, giving him a concussion. Later, he woke, memory of everything before the self-experimentation gone... and only one name for him imprinted in his mind.

Basic Information
Name: Unknown

Called: Calypso

Age: Unknown, Assumed to have been revived February 2009

Nationality: Unknown, Assumed Brittish

Allegance: Zephyr Inc.

Occupation: Unknown, assumed to have been a Sailor.

Dominant form: Humanoid

Favorite Weapon: Anything she can get her hands on.

Characteristics:

Calypso originally would refer to the zombies where she was discovered as her mates. She is horrible at keeping secrets and seems to show amazing resiliance considering her state of being. However, her personality and Can Do attitude can be what get her into the deepest level of trouble. She seems to have good reflexes... even if her innate perception is a little off.

Just don't try anything funny when out on the battlefield.

General Appearance
Calypso scavanges whatever clothes that can be found. At the moment, there seems to be no preferences as to what is worn. One thing that can be easily seen is the strange marking that covers most of her leg. A tattoo that reads HMS Calypso. Beyond that, Calypso looks like an average haggrid survivor in the post-virus world.

Background
Unlike most people alive post release of the promethean virus, Calypso was never born. When the virus reached outbreak levels near Crete, a sunken sailing vessel ended up getting infected with zombie nanites from a sailor trapped within it. As the other sailors started getting infected with the zombie nanites, the ship they were in started to change into a humanoid form. The nanites replicated in the sunken sailing vessel the partially rotted brain matter of the original sailor it was infected with. As the ship started to come back to the surface, It was effected again by a new set of nanites that brought Heraclean power to her. The change to Genetically superior human nanites from the zombie nanites started to revitalize the lifesigns of the ship-turned-humanoid.

Calypso at that point crawled up on to the shores of Crete, naked, and bearing the mark of who she was on her leg. Soon after comming to the shore, She was spotted by a research team trying to save survivors from the outbreak. The researchers communicated with other research stations from Crete to the United States, offering to ship her to the next base over, if they would examine her and find out what and who she is. Many researchers speculated that she may have been a ship that was infected with nanites, and then infected again... But as they kept handing her off to the next research team, it became evident that the original form that Calypso may have had.. is lost forever. Going from nanite bubble to nanite bubble ruined what she was first infected with.

Soon, a team shipped her to a RSX facility in America. After various levels of testing and attempts at revival, RSX finally decided to release Calypso's body to Zephyr for testing and analysis.

After arrival at Zepher... Calypso woke up.
Recent Events
Calypso has recently started to adapt to the life of "the future" as she sees it. With memories from a long dead sailor, Calypso tries to make heads or tails of what is going on in modern life...

She still doesn't know that her memories are not her own.

Euoia: Added similar punctuation as was in forum post for the Kazard guide. Added a link I missed. Forgive me, Kazard, my Wiki-Fu is weak and unable to provide color.
See those critters running around, attempting to ravage your poor defenseless self? Those were made by someone. You could be that someone.

Concept
Come up with a concept for your monster. Then check to make sure we don't already have one. True, you might have an awesome idea for a Skunk Woman, or maybe a Wolf Cub Twink, but the more original your idea is, the more likely it is to be approved.

Copyrighted characters or approximations of copyrighted characters are *NOT* allowed. So, no blue hedgehogs that run really fast, ducks named Donald, beautiful plant girls named Ivy, or similar items. Yes, 'parody' is covered under fair use, but Nuku has better things than legal battles to spend his money on (like food and shelter).

Body Template
This is the template that all characters (NPCs and PCs) use. Everything between {}s will be replaced with the mutation. Items in [brackets] are generated by the system, and do not need to be included in your description. Gender pronouns (He/She/Shi) in the template will change based on the gender of the character.

Looking over {name}, hir body is covered in {skin desc} flesh. Hir head is {head desc}. Hir body is {torso desc}. Sie has [generated breast descriptions]. Hir arms are {arm desc}. . Hir legs are {leg desc}. {ass Desc} A private peek would reveal that sie has: Sie has [cock #] [generated cock size] {cock desc} cock, measuring [cock Size] inches. Sie has [generated ball desc = cock width]. Sie has a [generated cunt desc] vagina. With mild effort, it can stretch to [cunt depth] inches long and [cunt width] inches around.

There are 7 parts to each creature: skin, head, arms, torso, ass, cock (groin), and legs. Each part requires a description and a transformation message.

String Parsing works in both descriptions and transformation messages.

Part Descriptions
Name = Name of the Creature

Skin = A short 2-3 word description. This will have "flesh" appended to it.

Long Skin (optional) = A longer description of the skin. This will not have anything added to the end.

Head Desc = Begins with "Hir head is". Needs to end with a period '.' .

Torso Desc = Begins with "Hir body is". Needs to end with a period '.' . You do not need to describe the breasts. These will be added by the system based on the stats of the character.

Arm Desc = Begins with "Hir arms are". Needs to end with a period '.' .

Legs Desc = Begins with "Hir legs are". Needs to end with a period '.' .

Ass Desc = This is a full and complete sentence. Maybe even more than one. This is the *only* descriptive line that is not prompted with "Hir part is."

Cock Desc = This is a short (2-3 word) description of the creatures penis. The size is already described by the template based on the cock size attribute of the character. It is followed by one of "Shaft", "maleness", "penis", or "cock" at random. So, if your description reads "giant lumpy penis", on a 2-inch endowed character it will end up looking like "Sie has a puny giant lumpy penis cock, measuring 2 inches." If you have an incredibly descriptive and complex cock in mind, consider splitting the description up using the 'at random' feature of String Parsing. You need a cock desc on your character, even if the character is female or neuter.
Transformation messages.
Do not assume anything about your target's current state. They might be human, they might not be. They might go one-way. They might not have breasts, or might have eight.

Transformation messages can also set attributes. See String Parsing for details.

Victory Messages
How to create a victory message. Use String Parsing!

-Victories-

-Victories MUST be full and unique scenes. The only exception is oVictory, which may be a slightly altered version of Victory. Not just sex! Not everything mutates via sex, sometimes a cuddle is better, or even just some more violence!

@set $rpsystem=infection/Creature Name/victory: -what you see when you win- @set $rpsystem=infection/Creature Name/ovictory: -what others see when you win- @set $rpsystem=infection/Creature Name/defeat: -what you see when you lose-

You may split up Victory/Defeat messages into multiple parts.

-Victory# and Defeat# must end with an [end] inside each # statement. This should be after the text inside an [if] statement and before the [endif]

Other details
Other stuff, like say/osay, powers, extra description text.
You agree that your creature may be modified to suit the game (note all care will be taken to contact the author in regards to 'major' changes, but small ones, wording of transforms or desc, will be corrected by staff).

Submitting
First, spellcheck your creature. Then read it again. Aloud. (Or at least mouth the words.) If your monster is littered with typos and 'and and's, it will just frustrate the devs.

Good, now wait an hour, come back, and spellcheck and proofread it again. See the missing "then" on line 3? The "theyre" in the male victory scene? That's why you wait and come back.

Now, visit, http://flexiblesurvival.com/index?Monsters

Log in if needed, and fill out the form, using your template. Check the preview. Read it again.

Before you hit that submit button, head on over to http://web.flexiblesurvival.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=332 and make sure you didn't make any of the common mistakes listed under the list of Do Not's.

Click "Submit".
Do:
* USE SPELLCHECKER ON EVERYTHING.
*Complete EVERY field in the critter creator. (Head, arms, torso, legs, cock, ass, and skin: desc and TF messages, defeat message, victory message, ovictory message, and all body part size fields (put 0 where applicable)).
*Put some real effort into your critter! If you didn't write enough and put enough effort into writing up your critter's descs, tfs, and victory/defeat messages then it won't be approved. (As per Nuku's decision to require a higher standard for approval after the "glut" of critters added to the game.)
*Make an attempt to learn about and use string parsing. At least in the vict/defeat messages, but you can also get real fancy with your descriptions and tf messages if you want. (A GREAT guide, by Damaged, a fellow staffer (and all around awesome person) on string parsing can be found here: http://web.flexiblesurvival.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=218
*Make sure you use the built in description preview and defeat/victory tester. Use it to:

#Make sure your string parsing isn't being buggy (where possible).
#Read what you have aloud! This is a wonderful and simple way to proofread the grammar of anything you want to submit, without requiring a 3rd party to read and make grammar revisions for things excessively.
#Catch odd spacing or other thing you might not have noticed otherwise.

*Be creative and have fun with things! I love this game and if you aren't having as much fun as I am, we need to fix that! XD
Do Not:
*BE LAZY! If I see something that is submitted for revision that is missing information in any of the major fields, or has words all over the place with little squiggly red lines under them, I get a bit peeved. I won't yell (through the internet) at you, but I am a bit less enthusiastic about reviewing your infection the next time I see it in the pile of infections to review...
*EXPECT ME TO ADD STRING PARSING! It can take a couple of hours to make the string parsing work to perfection in a well written infection, and while I'll sometimes see an infection that looks super awesome, and put in the hour or two it would take to debug some well-intentioned but badly written string parsing, most times I can't afford to spend all of that time on something that doesn't wow me.
*Put too much time into stuff you write in the notes section. Staffers typically only look for power suggestions, say/osay message suggestions, location suggestions, and requests for new powers. (ALL of which are up to the discretion of the staffer reviewing your infection for whether or not what was suggested is used.)
*Use more than one space after the end of a sentence's punctuation mark. Some folks use this convention, however this is a VERY old convention leftover from the era of the typewriter and not applicable to modern day electronic fonts. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sentence_s ... Typography
*Use non-descriptive Descriptions! Use the words/phrase >Human Like/Human-like/humanlike/humanish/humanesque/ human looking/charmingly human< IS LAZY and is NOT TOLERATED! It's not a huge deal, but I'm tired of seeing it... You are MORE than welcome to make critters with humanoid traits, BUT you need to actually describe them.... You would describe your face as >Human-like< to your Mom, would you? NO! You wouldn't talk about your hair color, and other facial features (eye color, lip color, cheek bones, eyebrows, amount of fat (gaunt, chubby cheeks, etc.) smile, teeth, so on so on and so on....) This of course applies to furry/other critters, don't say panther like face, describe it for real!
*Mention the skin/fur/clothing/outer surface of your critter in anything except the skin Desc and TF. This is a HUGE faux pas, because players could have a completely different infections skin mutation and you aren't allowed to override that by describing it in other body parts in your infection. Hair (on top of your head) is generally considered the exception but it's still iffy... Now with that said, you CAN get around this issue by using string parsing to check to make sure the player has your infection's skin mutation. [if stat mutation/skin of player=<your infection's name>] text describing skin/etc. not in the skin desc/tf field[otherwise] text that conforms to this rule[end if]
*Abuse These Punctuation marks: ()^=+|\"<>;:/-_*@# Unfortunately, most folks don't know how to punctuate using the less common punctuation marks, and as such you should avoid making a description that contains any of those marks and if you absolutely must use one of them, try not to use any of the others or repeat using the one you used.... The only reason I even have to add this one to the list is because I've seen folks make descs with 40+ -'s or attempted to use /'s instead of periods or commas....

Are we allowed to freely change your submission with regards to Gender, Abilities, and Name? Is your creation Copyrighted by you?
By submitting this creature, you are releasing it for use, modified or unmodified within the Fleixble Survival game and any successive games in the same world.

Do:
* USE SPELLCHECKER ON EVERYTHING.

Typography
*Use non-descriptive Descriptions!Use the words/phrase >Human Like/Human-like/humanlike/humanish/humanesque/ human looking/charmingly human< IS LAZY and is NOT TOLERATED!
*Mention the skin/fur/clothing/outer surface of your critter in anything except the skin Desc and TF.This is a HUGE faux pas, because players could have a completely different infections skin mutation and you aren't allowed to override that by describing it in other body parts in your infection. Hair (on top of your head) is generally considered the exception but it's still iffy... Now with that said, you CAN get around this issue by using string parsing to check to make sure the player has your infection's skin mutation. [if stat mutation/skin of player=<your infection's name>] text describing skin/etc. not in the skin desc/tf field[otherwise] text that conforms to this rule[end if]
*Abuse These Punctuation marks ()^=+|\"<>;:/-_*@# Unfortunately, most folks don't know how to punctuate using the less common punctuation marks, and as such you should avoid making a description that contains any of those marks and if you absolutely must use one of them, try not to use any of the others or repeat using the one you used.... The only reason I even have to add this one to the list is because I've seen folks make descs with 40+ -'s or attempted to use /'s instead of periods or commas....
Kazard's Tips and Tricks to making Creatures
*Have Fun! or else.... I jest, if you aren't having fun making a new critter, maybe you need some help, a different approach, or set it aside, and come back to it at a later time.
Tricks
*They/Them/Their/etc. Pay close attention to these words in descriptions! The critter creator will automagically change to match the player's gender (he/him/his-she/her/her-etc.-etc.) You can get around this by using ^normal^, like this them becomes th^normal^em however you should only do this only when strictly necessary...
*Make it easier for the staff. I love it when people write up stuff like this in the notes.
Do:
* USE SPELLCHECKER ON EVERYTHING.
(A GREAT guide, by Damaged, a fellow staffer (and all around awesome person) on string parsing can be found here: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=218 )

Typography
*Use non-descriptive Descriptions!Use the words/phrase >Human Like/Human-like/humanlike/humanish/humanesque/ human looking/charmingly human< IS LAZY and is NOT TOLERATED!
Tips
*Ask Questions! There are tons of critter creator veterans playing, and chances are they'd be happy to help you out if you get stuck.
*Have a Plan. When you have an inspiration and know what you want your critter to be able to do, look like, and how it acts, chances are you'll have an easier time writing it up and submitting it to us for review.
*Use a word/text editor. Use it to write up, spell check/proofread, and back up all the text you want to put into the critter creator. You'll still need to adjust things to fit the wording the description uses, but that's pretty easy for the most part....
*Have Fun!
I love it when people write up stuff like this in the notes. http://www.webpagescreenshot.info/img/104164-628201111340am.png It makes my job that much easier if your infection get's approved :D Remember: It is up to the staffer reviewing your submitted infection whether or not your suggestions are used, so make them reasonable if you want them to have a chance of being considered.
*Put a Mako Bounty on it! There are tons of options in this respect! The most obvious one being to purchase a New Critter Registration from one of the elite/mako stores in game. I also offer a more specialized, and potentially cost effective, string parsing specific service. (Details can be found here: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=291 ) However what would probably be the cheapest method is just to call it out in game! Simply offer a mako to whoever can help you write up this that or the other, in order to do what you need....
Euoia:

Kazard's Tips and Tricks to making Creatures ==

*Have Fun!
I love it when people write up stuff like this in the notes. http://www.webpagescreenshot.info/img/104164-628201111340am.png It makes my job that much easier if your infection get's approved :D Remember: It is up to the staffer reviewing your submitted infection whether or not your suggestions are used, so make them reasonable if you want them to have a chance of being considered.
Euoia:

Legal Stuff
Include this text in your submission and answer the questions.

Are we allowed to freely change Code? Are we allowed to freely change descriptions/phrases? Are we allowed to freely change your submission with regards to Gender, Abilities, and Name? Is your creation Copyrighted by you? If your creation is Copyrighted by you, is Flexible Survival Allowed to make a profit from it without providing financial compensation?

By submitting this creature, you are releasing it for use, modified or unmodified within the Fleixble Survival game and any successive games in the same world.

Done.

Do:
* USE SPELLCHECKER ON EVERYTHING.
(A GREAT guide, by Damaged, a fellow staffer (and all around awesome person) on string parsing can be found here: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=218 )

XD
===
===

Do Not:
Typography
*Use non-descriptive Descriptions!Use the words/phrase >Human Like/Human-like/humanlike/humanish/humanesque/ human looking/charmingly human< IS LAZY and is NOT TOLERATED!
[if stat mutation/skin of player=<your infection's name>] text describing skin/etc. not in the skin desc/tf field[otherwise] text that conforms to this rule[end if]
Guess some things never change.
