Snowblind blinks her eyes open, their neck in pain as they wake slumped in a chair.  Pure white walls surround, and the harsh lighting makes it hard to focus on anything surrounding.  A sterile smell overwhelms the senses.  Eventually the shapes start to align, a gurney-like bed sits nearby, and a frail figure on it.

Snowblind stands from the chair and gives her neck a slight rub as she takes a better look at the figure on the gurney. Without even thinking she reaches for her medical bags before she blinks again and looks herself over as well. The sterile smell does not offend her as she is used to it. Even though it has been awhile since she has had a truly sterile environment.

No medical bag, clothed in normal human clothing, a familiar body.  Wondering why they even thought of that.  Their memories fading like a dream.  The shape on the bed appears to breathe laboured through a tube in their nose, a woman it seems, despite their head being hairless.

Snowblind rests her left hand on the edge of the bed as her right goes to lightly cress the bald woman's head. She watches for a few breathes before she speaks softly. "Hello." She gives a smile even if the woman is not awake as she continues to look over the woman.

The woman's sunken eyes open, and she looks up, a croak out of her throat isn't able to form words.  There's a chart by the bed, a familiar name.  The chart crashing to the floor as new memories strike, her mother.

"Mom..." Snow lets out as she tries to fight the influx of emotions. "Easy mom. I am here." She continues to run her hand over her mother’s head as she leans down closer to the bed. After a bit more she picks back up the chart to try and take a glance at why her mother is sick again. "Easy now mom. I am here for you."

The woman is barely able to react, in fact she seems almost pained from the touch.  The cancer having eaten away at her insides, and the chemicals and radiation having done nothing but slowly kill her.  The misery invades her very being, then the memory hits, her having asked to die, but the stubborn refusal of her daughter to let her go has kept her in this state.

Snowblind goes to her knees as the memory hits her. She closes her eyes as she starts to tear up. "Mom... I never wanted to give you pain. I just wanted a bit more time. Time to say that I was sorry. Time to get forgiveness." As she says this she gets back to her feet though a bit unsteady. Her hand still caressing her mother’s head as she takes her other to place in her mother’s hand. "Can you forgive your headstrong daughter."

There is no love in her eyes, just pain, overwhelming pain.  Empty pools waiting to die.

Snowblind closes her eyes as she bends down to give a kiss to her mother goodbye. "Do not stand at my grave and weep." She whispers to her mother before with tears in her eyes she turns around to cry into her own hands.

There's no comfort for Snow, just the robotic noise of the oxygen machine, and the raspy release of breaths from her mother.  Though there's shadows at the edge of the bright lit room now that weren’t there before.  They seem to be encroaching slowly upon the bed.

Snowblind tries to steady herself as she turns back around to the bed. She looks towards the oxygen machine and the tube connecting it to her mother. She does not seem to notice the shadows at least not yet. "It may be too little to late mother but your wish... I give it to you. I am sorry." She reaches for the connections between the machine and the tube and gives it a hard yank.

There's an audible gasp as the woman loses the ability to breathe, but also welcome bliss as her eyes grow distant.  The shadows creep up behind and begin to overwhelm, taking Snow suddenly as she's snapped away from her mother into the darkness, the woman growing distant as life bleeds from her.  The chilling voice of Hare accompanies the darkness.
