Location

Costs 50 Mako to dedicate yourself in the lab one step north and one west of Triage.

Powers

Grants the power to shift into any form you have the Total badge for (note there is no readily-available Total Human badge). Also grants access to the Recall command which allows you to teleport to your dedication point and then back to where you last recalled from. Finally you gain the Reconstruct power for combat use as you force your nanites to return to a non-bleeding pattern.

'shift' by itself lists the forms you have available. 'shift blue gryphon' changes all your body parts and gender settings to the Blue Gryphon default and costs 40 energy.

Additional Equipment

Two additional options are available for Nanite Adepts: the Nanite Fine Tuner is an inventory item that costs 50 mako and allows you to shift individual body parts with the 'shift legs=ashen matriarch' command. The Nanite Focus Device allows anyone with the Nanite Adept badge to use the Fine Tuner while not currently an Adept. The Nanite Social Devolutionizer is the opposite of monster bait; using it will reduce the spawn chance of a selected mutation. The Nanite Carnal Equalizer allows you to take on the gender and proportions of a species without actually changing species, and bypasses size restriction perks. The Nanite Spatial Recalculator allows an Adept to shift their size without changing any of their parts, the Nanite Resistor can be used to toggle infection immunity on and off, and the Nanite Sexual Stabilizer can lock/unlock your groin stats and keep them from changing. Finally, the Nanite Gender Assigner lets you use whichever bits you feel like using.

Thematic Information

The Nanite Adepts are a phenomenon that started emerging around the Zephyr building area not too long after P-Day. Individuals, seemingly at random, noticed an increased, sudden control over the nanites in their body, being able to recall complete infections they previously were subjected to. While some praise this as a sort of emotional bond to their nanites, and others see it as a sort of evolution of their new state, the truth is more worrying and mundane at the same time; The Nanite Adept Project initiated by Zephyr Labs partially sees to the regular introduction of CnC Nanites into the food an drink supply of the Zephyr Building's cantina. The CnC Nanites, short for Command and Control, are supposed to settle down in the subject's body, and by forming a communication and control link between the subject's brain and the nanites distributed in their body, allow them to conciously or subconciously send the commands for activation of various stored forms to the infection nanites.

The CnC nanites, due to their highly complex mechanisms of linking to the subject's mental processing, are not compatible with most people of the populance. Despite regular ingestion, many people show no signs of the CnC nanites taking hold, and upon failure to do so the nanites leave the body through natural processing.

Note that ICly people are not aware of this experiment, unless they are involved in the shady background dealings of Zephyr. They just make up their own theories, altho paranoid natures certainly would notice a connection between the Zephyr Building location and the 'phenomenon'.
