At last, it was time: for Glenstock as a city to retake the wire cabling they had lost weeks before to the wilds of Oregon, and once-and-for-all get the rest of the job finished. The city's transportation enterprise had graciously provided one of their largest carts - usually intended for hauling around some of the most egregiously overpregnant inhabitants who just can't get around on their own anymore - as well as two muscular keagles, one male, one herm. Additionally, a small handful of various vulpines are present as busybodies, to help lay wire and manual efforts; they're composed of a typical foxtaur, 3 clockwork foxes, and a vixen nurse. They're not ill-equipped for the task at hand, and likely can minimally defend themselves... but they certainly aren't capable of doing this all on their lonesome. They all wait at the city gate for the agents and city's children to assemble.

Angelily didn't really see what SHE was here, of all people. Yeah, shi was strong, and could sniff out a trail, and maybe, this would lead to a good story or two. That was enough to convense hir she should stay around. "So, what are we doing exactly?" Shi asks, rubbing and rubbing over her breasts through her open vest. A soft moan as her bare cunts drip dew to the floor. Her breathing was a bit heavy and hot, and the sawy of her body didn't help matters. She was born to be bred, at least that ishow she looked.

Alkain hums as he pads up to the gate, looking around curiously as he does... "Hmm... hopefully the wire is still there..." he rubs his neck a bit nervously. He peers over at Angeliliy as she arrives and snickers, though his sheath plumps a little at the sight, "We should try to focus..." he offers and looks over to the group that needs to be defended, "Alright, I hope I don't have to say this... but stick with us and stick together, we don't want any of you getting hurt after all."

The hermaphroditic foxtaur answers, looking to be the head of the group. "Well, you should know that already! We're getting that wire back from the damned wolves." Shi stares at Angelily as the 'yote openly rubs hirself, sniffing at hir soon after. "You going to be okay like that? You'll get some good dick when you get back, so you best not be jumping after any wolves - or us - to get a filling in the meantime." Then, off behind in the distance, a squeaky voice calls out. "W-waaaait for me!" The owner is shown to be a small, now non-prgnant skunk girl. She bends over, putting paws on her knees as she finally catches up to the group, trying to catch her breath. "Haaa... ahhh... I can, ah, lead you to where it was." The others of the group sigh and shake their heads at this straggling arrival, and just start walking away now that everyone is ready. "H-heyy! Wait for me!" As they exit through the gate, several foxes begin to follow far behind the rest, almost out of sight.

The journey towards the last known location of the wire is largely uneventful, with no major alarms raised by the foxes holding constant watch over the area. It's a clear day, with the winter finally thawing out, and the soil a little more wet than usual from that; nonetheless, it is not overly muddy in most areas. The 'caravan' stops short of the site, and the keagles speak up. "We're not going to be the ones leading into that, you locate the wire first... and THEN we'll come get it!"

Angelily walked along with the rest of them, still dripping from just about everywhere as she goes, with a smile she looks to the fox taur, "Well, sweetie, I'll be more than ok, even more if you just went ahead and jumped me. I'm sure we could... adjust you to fit, though we'd have to before leaving the city proper." She says, eyeing over Alkain next. When they get to where they are going, Angelily looks around, at first trying to just get an idea of the place, but, when they didn't immediately find a big buddle of copper and rubber stuff, she looks a bit conserned, "Well, if isn't here." She says, then gets down to start sniffing around.

Alkain nods to the foxtaur in agreement, "I agree..." he peers at Angelily and smirks, "I wouldn't mind helping with it after this, myself." he teases he blinks and peers back at the shouting, "Ah, thanks." he smiles and pats the skunk girl, gently of course. He links up to the foxmind to get an update on what they are walking into before leaving the gates, "Sounds clear for the moment..." he looks around while they travel, staying alert just in case the foxmind missed something. He looks to the keagles and raises an eyebrow, "You realize we can't really defend you if something happens that way?" he looks to Angelily though and ponders, "Well... a small group might have more luck getting in and then out... what do you think uhh... I don't think I got your name? I'm Alkain." he offers

Now at the dig site where progress stalled, it's immidiately apparent there's no spool of wire in sight, nor any remnant debris of it. The only tracks in the vicinity are the ones of the former party's cart retreating back to safety, and a wide depression of something being dragged away leading away... from both the power generation site and Glenstock. Anything made by anyone who isn't a half-ton plus in weight has been made impossible to track from the wet soil.

Angelily simply continues to sniff and look around, down on all fours like a dog as she works around. "Angelily, and look, fucking would help. I'm not getting much, but to say I'm focused would be a lie." She admits, "Well... wolves were through here, and obviously the big heavy tech thing you want probably was moved off in that direction." She says, pointing out the obvious as she fiddles with her balls and cunts.

The keagles look at each other and sigh at Alkain's suggestion, but continue with the others to the site itself. "Well, what is it? We're not the ones in charge here... we aren't just going to stand alone as sitting ducks." The other keagle groans and gives hir compatriot a jab with the elbow. "Er, sitting keagles."

Alkain frowns at the fact there is no wire and sighs as he rubs his muzzle, "It couldn't be that easy... could it?" he looks to Angeliliy and nods, "I see..." he looks around himself and shakes his head, "Following the trail is out best bet then..." he looks to the keagels and chuckles at the little joke, "I'd try to stay hidden if I were you. Or at least... as hidden as you can get. You can follow a ways behind us if you wish... it may be a bit of a trap though."

The birds-of-labor squawk, and they look far from comfortable with the situation. Before *they* speak up, the foxtaur that accompanied them interjects. "We," he begins to say as he waves his hand to indicate the other workers, "can stay here with the birdies and hold down the fort here so-to-say, try and get the worksite prepped to resume the project. Can you two find the wire on your own? We'll send this one with you as a messenger for us so that they know when the cart is needed." The foxtaur points to the petite mephit tag-along, who is first shocked, and immidiately begins pouting at being 'offered up'.
